A study of the readiness of post-pandemic computer-based four-tier diagnostic test (CBFTDT): A review of economic level, school grades, and device accessibility
Student readiness for using computer-based assessment was affected by economic level, school grade, and device accessibility. This study analyzed student readiness using a computer-based assessment, the four-tier diagnostic test (CBFTDT). The data in this study were students\u27 responses to a questionnaire consisting of 16 statements about three aspects: mental access, skill access, and usage. The questionnaire consists of 16 statements with three aspects: items, media, and effectivity. The questionnaire was proved valid by experts and its estimated reliability score was 0.99. This study proved that the Student is still not ready to use the computer-based assessment, with an average readiness of 60%. In addition, there is no effect of economic level, school grade, and device accessibility on the readiness for using the computer-based assessment. Hence, the treatment of all stockholders is needed to prepare students to use the computer-based assessment
Incidental news exposure and opinion leader\u27s role in spreading climate change information and environment-friendly behavior on social media
Social media is the primary medium for disseminating information, including global topics such as climate change. The topic of climate change is related to the community\u27s application of environmentally friendly habits. Social media and social media users have their characteristics in disseminating information about climate change compared to other media. Social media allows a user to be accidentally exposed to the information referred to as incidental news exposure. In addition, in disseminating information, opinion leaders have a role in disseminating information to social media users. This study aims to determine the role of opinion leaders and incidental news exposure in disseminating information about climate change. This research is a case study involving fourteen participants divided into two Focused-Group Discussion (FGD) groups. After carrying out the FGD, the results of the participants\u27 discussions were analyzed using the diffusion of innovation theory, in which there are elements of the spread of an innovation consisting of the innovation, communication channel, time, and social system. The study results show that incidental news exposure and opinion leaders play a role in disseminating information about climate change and environmentally friendly habits. Incidental news exposure and opinion leaders can be part of disseminating information with the diffusion of innovation theory approach
Woman in niqab and contestation of piety show-off in the media
HIjrah is not only limited on human relation with God, but also how hijrah discourse existence is delivered in the media as discourse battle arena. Niqab is a characteristic of a woman going through hijrah. By using multimodality of Gunther Kress and Theo van Leuween, this critical discourse digs deeper on phenomena of woman in niqab and contestation of piety show-off in the media. Based on analysis performed on four accounts of woman with niqab in Instagram, narration found that the most massive show-off action of piety are performed by niqabis, that is in the act of religious activities, such as reading Al-Qur\u27an, praying, suggestion on sadaqa and five-times prayer. Moreover, piety representation is also performed by using quotes in Arabian language and Arabian woman figure as illustration to legitimate the hijrah journey of a woman in niqab. Piety, not only it displays woman in covering clothes, but also intersection with popular culture. It\u27s existence is put together with the incidentally profane Korean wave love romance This phenomena shows a paradox where there is incorporation of religious sacredness with the often considered profane Korean wave

Based on the evaluations of the material experts, media experts, and users, it can be concluded that the Antenna Pattern Radiation learning media falls into the highly feasible category and can be utilized as a learning resource in courses related to Antenna and Wave Propagation
Establishment of Universiti Muhammadiyah Malaysia (UMAM) in the perspective of communication for development through education modernization
Muhammadiyah is considered a radical conservative movement among the Malaysian Muslim community. The education system in Malaysia is generally exclusive. The majority of Malaysian society is resistant to the Muhammadiyah sect except in certain states. This research used the theory from Servaes and Malikhao, the modernization paradigm that influenced academia from 1945 to 1965 was supported by the transition of sociopolitical technology and culture from advanced societies to traditional societies. Development is explained as economic growth. The main idea in the modernization perspective shows that development is interpreted as first, planned, and overlapping. The results showed ideologically, the principle of progressive Muhammadiyah in establishing Universiti Muhammadiyah Malaysia (UMAM) cannot be separated from the role of the 47th Muktamar Muhammadiyah in Makassar. The congress was aimed at strengthening Muhammadiyah’s Islamic vision, namely progressive Islam. Muhammadiyah launched an internationalization program, especially in the field of education, one of its implementations was by developing excellent educational centers abroad. Furthermore, Malaysia is considered the first step as a representative city center that excels in education and internationalization. Muhammadiyah is a movement that cares about Muslims so that they are not degraded by the progress of other nations, so public schools were founded and eventually became universities. This research concluded that the establishment of UMAM was a place to prove that Muhammadiyah is a progressive da’wah movement and builds society towards enlightenment. UMAM presents a superior lecture system with international standards through the use of technology. However, life is still based on Islamic values
Investigating the correlation between teachers’ instructional communication and students’ motivation
There is an anecdotal evidence that teachers’ instructional communication can affect students’ communication. Thus, the present study aims to investigate the correlation between teachers’ instructional communication and students’ motivation. The present study applies a quantitative approach by distributing a set of questionnaires to 52 participants in a senior high school in Bekasi, Indonesia. The findings of the present study indicate a strong correlation between teachers’ instruction communication and students’ motivation. In addition, the most salient factors of teachers’ instructional communication are feedback and organization of instructional units or teachers’ ability to deliver the materials. Regarding students’ motivation, the majority of the respondents are motivated by integrated regulation. The latter refers to the respondents’ ability to internalize their goals. It can be said that feedback and teachers’ ability to present learning materials in an engaging manner can help students to see the merits behind their learning process and internalize the goals. The present study also discuss the implications and further studies
Engineering the development of democratic citizenship education curriculum in the global era: A few perspectives from theoretical frameworks
There are weaknesses both from the perspective and effectiveness of Citizenship Education (CE) which are too oriented towards domestic problems in the context of facing global challenges and problems. Today it is necessary to change the orientation of the Civics curriculum which is globally oriented. In other words, it is necessary to engineer the Civics curriculum development. This paper attempts to present theoretical frameworks for engineering the development of a democratic and globally oriented Civics curriculum. There are at least six theoretical frameworks, namely the Birdcage Theory, Crystal Theory, Tree Theory, DNA Theory, Mushroom Theory, and Amoeba Theory. The six theories have different views, implications, and recommendations in curriculum engineering, including the Civics curriculum. This paper ends with the author\u27s recommendations after considering both the strengths and weaknesses of the six theoretical frameworks

Exploring citizenship competencies in Pancasila subjects through local wisdom in the Merdeka curriculum
Teachers are at the forefront of building students\u27 competencies for junior high school education, especially local wisdom-based civic competence, but during the implementation of the independent curriculum, the competencies mastered by students are still not optimal. This study aims to ascertain the level of local wisdom-based civic competence that students possess, the challenges that Pancasila subjects present to students in developing local wisdom-based civic competence, and potential solutions for fostering local wisdom-based civic competence in the era of independent curricula. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Pacitan, and the research subjects were students. This research uses a qualitative approach and a descriptive research method because it tries to describe the competencies mastered by students, the obstacles to building them, and solutions to these obstacles, especially those related to local wisdom-based civic competence in the era of an independent curriculum. Data collection techniques are interviews, observation, and documentation, and the data analysis used is interactive data analysis. Students have not been able to master civic competence optimally because they have not been able to implement civic disposition optimally and master civic disposition and civic skills more. This can happen because there are several obstacles, namely less than optimal teacher competence, unsupportive facilities and infrastructure, teachers being often late in starting lessons, poor student ethics towards teachers, and still teachers who cannot utilize digital-based learning media. The solution that needs to be done is for the government to make a policy to provide education and training to teachers related to understanding and implementing the Merdeka curriculum. This needs to be done so that each teacher can improve his competence so that his role in the learning process can increase civic competence based on local wisdom in students
