The effectiveness of microcontroller instructional system through simulation program method by using trainer kit
The study was to test the learning effectiveness of program simulation method by using the trainer kit in Microcontroller System courses. The study was conducted to the students who took the microcontroller system courses in the academic year of 2013/2014. The students who took the course were divided into three groups and each of the group served as: (1) the experimental group; (2) control group; and (3) test instrument group. The learning outcome variables (Y2) and the awareness of thinkings (Y1) served as the dependent variable; on the other hand, the motivation (X1) and the creativity (X2) served as independent variables. The data analysis was done by performing the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and the Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) in order to see the differences in the learning outcomes and the level of students thinking. The results of the study showed that there have been significant differences in the level of metacognition and the level of learning outcomes competence on the program simulation method by using the trainer kit on microcontroller systems course in comparison to those who were not using it
Factors discouraging students from schooling: A case study at Junior Secondary School in Laos
This study is aimed at exploring and describing the factors discouraging Laos students from schooling at a secondary school in various contexts such as classroom and school, individual student, family, and community contexts. Descriptive qualitative approach was used, and the framework of the study was formulated around the aspects of school and classroom situation, principal\u27s management process, teachers\u27 teaching organization and performance, parents\u27 involvement and perception, and community\u27s involvement and perception. The data were collected through observation, document analysis, and interview from 10 students, six teachers, one principal, one vice principal at Phonsyneua Junior Secondary School, and seven parents whose children were studying at this school. The finding shows that among the factors involved in students\u27 schooling at secondary school, several factors discourage them. The teachers\u27 performances were not perfect yet and some students\u27 competency was not qualified enough. The students\u27 parents were not highly committed and involved in their children\u27s schooling. The community had little trust in schooling since they perceived that schooling costs a lot of money. To improve these discouraging factors, several actions should be taken into consideration. The principal should ask all the teachers to communicate the vision and missions to the students, or the vision and mission should be published and socialized in the school. The observations on teachers\u27 instruction should be done by both the principal and senior teachers
PENGEMBANGAN MODEL LATIHAN KRIBO UNTUK POWER TUNGKAI ATLET LOMPAT JAUH DAN SPRINTER SKO SMP
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan model latihan KRIBO (kreatif dan inovatif dengan bola) untuk melatih power tungkai atlet atletik nomor lompat jauh dan sprinter tingkat SMP. Model latihan KRIBO yang dikembangkan diharapkan dapat digunakan oleh pelatih atletik sebagai salah satu bentuk model latihan yang baik dan efektif. Penelitian pengembangan ini dilakukan dengan mengadaptasi langkah-langkah penelitian sebagai berikut: (1) penelitian dan pengumpulan data (2) perencanaan (3) pengembangan draft produkawal (4) ujicoba lapangan awal (5) revisi hasil ujicoba (6) ujicoba lapangan utama (7) revisi terhadap produk (8) melakukan ujicoba lapangan operasional (9) revisi produk akhir (10) desiminasi dan implementasi. Uji coba skala kecil dilakukan terhadap siswa kelas Olahraga kelas IX SMP N 1 Ngawen yang berjumlah 10 anak. Uji coba skala besar dilakukan terhadap siswa kelas Olahraga kelas IX SMP N 1 Ngawen dan SMP N 1 Playen, yang berjumlah 20 anak. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu: (1) pedoman wawancara, (2) skala nilai, (3) pedoman observasi model, (4) pedoman observasi keefektifan model, dan (5) kuesioner untuk siswa. Teknik analisis data yang dilakukan yaitu analisis deskriptif kuantitatif dan analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Dari hasil analisis data penilaian para ahli materi dan pelatih kelas olahraga cabang atletik, ditarik kesimpulan bahwa pengembangan model latihan ini sangat baik dan efektif.
DEVELOPING KRIBO MODEL FOR ATLETHIC POWER LEG TRAINING OF LONG JUMP AND SPRINTER FOR JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL SPORT CLASS
Abstract
This reseach aims to produce KRIBO ( kreatif dan inovatif dengan bola) training model to train atletic of long jump and sprinter for junior high school sport class. The development of this model is expected to become a satisfactory and effective training model. This research and development was conducted by adapting the research as follows: (1) Research and information collection. (2) Planning (3) Develop preliminary form of product (4) Preliminary field testing (5) Main product revision (6) Main filed testing (7) Operasional product revision (8) Operational field testing (9) Final product revision (10) Dissemination and implementation. The small-scale field trial was done by 10 students of grade IX class in SMP N 1 Ngawen. The large-scale field trials were done by 20 students of grade IX in SMP N 1 Ngawen and SMP N 1 Playen. The data collecting instruments were: (1) interview guide, (2) a value scale, (3) observation guide of the model, (4) an observasion guide of the model\u27s efectiveness, (5) a guestionnaire for the students. The data analysis method was a guantitative descriptive analysis and qualitative descriptive analysis. Based on the data analysis derived from coach and expert assessment, it is concluded that the model is training as very satisfactory and effective. Peningkatan motivasi dan hasil belajar pada mata pelajaran pemograman dasar menggunakan modul di SMKN 2 Sumbawa
Penelitian ini bertujuan: (1) untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa, dan (2) untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa agar tercapainya ketuntasan klasikal pada mata pelajaran pemograman dasar siswa kelas X jurusan Multimedia di SMKN 2 Sumbawa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang menggunakan model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart (Perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi). Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X Multimedia SMKN 2 Sumbawa, NTB yang berjumlah 34 orang melibatkan guru dan seorang observer. Data motivasi dan nilai sikap diambil menggunakan angket. Data keterlaksanaan proses pembelajaran diambil dengan menggunakan lembar observasi. Data nilai pengetahuan dan unjuk kerja diambil menggunakan skala penilaian yang dilengkapi dengan rubrik. Teknik analisis data motivasi dan nilai sikap menggunakan analisis deskriptif kemudian digolongkan kedalam skor baku untuk mengkategorisasikan motivasi belajar dan nilai sikap. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) pengunaan modul pembelajaran dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. (2) penggunaan modul dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar (nilai sikap, nilai pengetahuan dan praktik).
IMPROVING MOTIVATION AND LEARNING OUTCOMES IN BASIC PROGRAMMING USING MODULES IN SMKN 2 SUMBAWA
Abstract
This research aims to: (1) improve student\u27s motivation and (2) improve student\u27s learning outcomes to achieve the classical completeness on basic programming course in class X Multimedia majors at SMKN 2 Sumbawa. This research is a classroom action research that uses Kemmis and Mc. Taggart (planning, implementation, observation, and reflection) models. Subjects in this study is the tenthgrade of Multimedia students at SMKN 2 Sumbawa NTB amounting to 34 people involving teachers and an observer. The motivation data and value of attitude were taken using a questionnaire and the data of learning process was taken using observation sheets. The knowledge and performance values were taken using a assessment scale which was equipped with a rubric. The data analysis technique of motivation and value of attitude used descriptive analysis and were classified into raw scores to categorize the value of learning motivation and attitudes. The result of this research are as follows: (1) Using learning module can improve student\u27s motivation. (2) Using learning module to improve learning outcomes (attitudes, knowledge and practices)
Keefektifan Pendekatan Problem Posing Ditinjau dari Prestasi Belajar, Kemampuan Koneksi Matematis, dan Disposisi Matematis
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan membandingkan keefektifan pendekatan problem posing dan pendekatan konvensional ditinjau dari prestasi belajar, kemampuan koneksi matematis, dan disposisi matematis. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu. Populasi mencakup seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Tempel Sleman yang terdiri atas 6 kelas. Kelas VIII A dan VIII D terpilih secara acak sebagai sampel. Kelas VIII D sebagai kelas eksperimen diberikan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan problem posing. Kelas VIII A sebagai kelas kontrol diberikan pembelajaran konvensional. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan nontes, sedangkan instrumen yang digunakan meliputi soal tes prestasi belajar, soal tes kemampuan koneksi matematis, dan angket disposisi matematis siswa. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji MANOVA, uji t satu sampel, dan uji t dua sampel independen. Hasil penelitian pada taraf signifikan 5% menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan problem posing efektif ditinjau dari prestasi belajar dan kemampuan koneksi matematis. Pembelajaran konvensional tidak efektif ditinjau dari prestasi belajar, kemampuan koneksi matematis, dan disposisi matematis. Pendekatan pembelajaran problem posing lebih unggul dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional ditinjau dari prestasi belajar dan kemampuan koneksi matematis.

The Effectiveness of Problem Posing Approach in Terms of Achievement, Mathematical Connection Ability and Mathematical Disposition in Mathematics
Abstract
The aims of this study were to describe the effectiveness of problem posing approach, the conventional approach, and the comparison of the effectiveness between problem posing approach and conventional approach in terms of achievement, mathematical connection ability, and mathematical disposition. The research design used quasi-experimental.. The population consisted of all 8th grade in State Junior High School 1 Tempel Sleman consisting of six classes. There were two classes involved. Class VIII D as the experiment class was taught using problem posing approach, while class VIII A as the control class was taught using conventional learning. The data collecting techniques were a test and non-test whereas the instruments were used to collect the data consisted of a mathematical achievement test, a mathematical connection test and a mathematical disposition questionnaire. The data were analyzed using MANOVA test, one sample t test, and two samples independent t test. The result of the study by using significance level 5%, showed that the problem posing approach was only effective in terms of achievement and mathematical connection ability. Conventional approach was not effective in terms of student\u27s achievement, mathematical connection ability and mathematical disposition. Problem-posing approach was more excellent compared to conventional learning in terms of student\u27s achievement ability and mathematical connection ability. Implementasi Pendekatan Saintifik Mapel Matematika Kelas VII Tahun Pelajaran 2013/2014 pada Kurikulum 2013 DIY
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) pemahaman guru matematika, (2) implementasi pendekatan saintifik, dan (3) hambatan dan solusi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini 20 orang guru matematika kelas VII di Provinsi DIY. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah lembar review dokumen, lembar observasi, dan pedoman wawancara. Data dianalisis secara kualitatif dengan proses pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi atau penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) pemahaman guru memiliki kriteria baik dengan rata-rata penilaian total 3,86 dari nilai maksimum 5 (2) Implementasi pendekatan saintifik memiliki kriteria baik dengan rata-rata penilaian total 3,65 dari nilai maksimum 5. (3) Terdapat hambatan pada pembuatan RPP dan pelaksanaan pembelajaran. Cara mengatasi hambatan di antaranya, yaitu aktif dalam kegiatan yang diselenggarakan oleh MGMP, mengikuti workshop/pelatihan, kreatif dan inovatif dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik, dan pendampingan dari tim pengembang kurikulum, guru inti, kepala sekolah, serta pengawas tingkat kabupaten atau kota.

The Implementation of Scientific Approach in Mathematics Subject for Grade VII in 2013/2014 of Curriculum 2013 DIY
Abstract
This study is to describe (1) mathematics teachers\u27 understanding, (2) the implementation of the Scientific Approach, and (3) the constraints and their solutions. This study is descriptive qualitative. The subjects in this study were 20 mathematics teachers of year VII in DIY. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. The instruments used in this study were review document sheets, observation sheets, and interview manual sheets. The data were analyzed qualitatively based on the process of data collecting, data reduction, data presenting, and verification or conclusion drawing. The results of the study showed that (1) the teachers\u27 understanding is in good criteria with the average total score of 3.86 for maximum score 5. (2) The implementation of the Scientific Approach is in good criteria with the total average score of 3.65 for maximum score 5. (3) There are constraints in designing the lesson plan and its implementation. The ways to anticipate it include being active in MGMP routine activities, taking part in a workshop/training, being creative and innovative in using the Scientific Approach in the teaching process, getting the assistance from the curriculum developers, core teachers, school principals and the regional superintendant. Pengembangan Perangkat Pembelajaran Berbasis Pemecahan Masalah Berorientasi pada Kemampuan Penalaran dan Komunikasi Matematika
Penilitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran matematika berbasis pemecahan masalah berorientasi pada kemampuan penalaran dan komonikasi matematika siswa kelas X di SMK bidang keahlian akomodasi perhotelan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development). Penelitian ini bertujuan utuk mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pengembangan 3D (Define, Design, Develop) yang dikembangkan oleh Borg dan Gall. Subyek penelitian ini adalah 65 siswa kelas X SMK Negeri 6 Yogyakarta. Analisis data dilakukan dengan mengkonversi total skor aktual yang diperoleh menjadi data kualitatif skala lima. Penelitian ini menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran matematika materi barisan dan deret yang, meliputi RPP, LKS, dan THB. Dari hasil validasi ahli, skor penilaian guru, penilaian siswa, observasi pembelajaran dan tes evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa RPP, LKS, dan THB adalah valid, praktis, dan efektif. Secara keseluruhan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan adalah layak untuk digunakan.

Developing Problem Based Learning Kits Oriented Toward Reasoning Ability and Math Communication of Students for Sequences and for Series Materials
Abstract
This study aims to produce problem-based learning kits which are valid, practical, and effective oriented toward mathematical reasoning ability and mathematics communication of Vocational School of Hotel acomodatioan. This study was a research and development study. It developed learning kits using Borg and Gall development model, and the model was modified so that it included only Define, Design, and Develop. This study produced learning kits for the problem-based learning oriented reasoning ability and communication students for the topic of sequence and series. The kits consisted of lesson plan, student work sheet, and achievement test. The results of the validation show that the developed kits are feasible to use and in the good category. The results of tryouts showed that the developed kits are practical and effective to develop mathematics reasoning ability and mathematics communication of the students. The Practicality in tryout was in good category with an average capability of being implemented in learning of 83.33 % and the field tryout us in the good category with an average of improvement of 90.33%. Based on the achievement test, it shows that the achievement of learning outcomes with a minimum completeness is 78.33 %. Keywords: development, reasoning ability, communication of mathematic
ANALISIS PROSES PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIKA SISWA SEKOLAH MENENGAH PERTAMA
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) pengetahuan yang sudah dimiliki siswa, (2) strategi, dan (3) kontrol kognitif yang di lakukan siswa sekolah menengah pertama dalam meyelesai-kan masalah matematika. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 1 Siau Timur sebanyak 171 siswa. Sampel diambil sebanyak 15 dari 171 siswa, dimana masing-masing kategori terdiri atas 5 siswa.Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes tulis dalam bentuk soal uraian dan dilengkapi dengan wawancara terhadap subjek untuk memperjelas karakteristik proses pemecahan masalah siswa yaitu Pengetahuan awal, strategi, dan kontrol kognitif. Soal yang diujikan adalah soal pemecahan masalah sebanyak 5 item soal. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menganalisis hasil tes dan wawancara, kemudian dilanjut-kan dengan menarik kesimpulan. Hasil Penelitian adalah sebagai berikut.Pertama, pengetahuan (resources) yang telah dikuasaisiswastrata tinggi yaitu pada pemecahan masalah matematika mengenai sifat-sifat operasi bilangan bulat dan pecahan serta persamaan linear satu variabel. Sementara itu siswa strata sedang dalam menentukan pola barisan bilangan sederhana, dan siswa strata rendah dalam memecahkan masalah yang berkaitan dengan barisan dan deret. Kedua, strategi yang tepat digunakan masing-masing strata pada kompetensi tersebut yakni strategi mengidentifikasi langkah (identify subgoal) dan strategi menggunakan rumus (use formula) oleh strata tinggi. Kemudian, strategi menggambar bagan (draw a sketch) oleh strata sedang dan rendah. Selanjutnya yang terakhir kontrol kognitif. Siswa strata tinggi cenderung memiliki gaya kognitif impulsif sedang siswa strata sedang dan rendah cenderung memiliki gaya kognitif refleksif.

AN ANALYSIS OF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL\u27S MATHEMATICS PROBLEM SOLVING PROCESS
Abstract
The objective of this study is to describe: (1) student resources, (2) strategies, and (3) cognitive control faced by junior high school students in solving mathematics problem. This study employed the qualitative descriptive approach. The research subjects were students of grade IX SMP Negeri 1 Siau Timur many as 171 students. Samples were taken as many as 15 of 171 students, where each category is made up of 5 students. The data were collected through a written test using an essay test item and interviews with the subjects to clarify characterization of mathematical problem-solving process as student resources, strategies, and cognitive control. The tested items were as many as 5 items. All of that is a problem solving items. The data were analyzed by analyzing the test and interview results, and drawing conclusions. Results are as follows. First, depth resources shown by high strata\u27s student in solving mathematical problems concerning the properties of integer and fractional operations and one variable linear equations. Meanwhile, medium stratum students in determining the simple number patterns, and the students of lower strata in solving problems related to sequence and series. Second, the right strategy is used by each stratum in the above competencies. The strategies used by the high strata are identify sub goal and use the formula. Then, draw a sketch strategy by medium and low strata. Futhermore, students\u27 cognitive control.High strata\u27s students tend to have of impulsive cognitive style were medium and low strata of students tend to have a reflexive cognitive style. Pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran bangun ruang di SMP dengan pendekatan problem-based learning
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk berupa perangkat pembelajaran bangun ruang SMP dengan pendekatan problem-based learning yang valid, praktis, dan efektif dilihat dari pencapaian kompetensi dasar, kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan sikap terhadap matematika. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan model 4D yang meliputi tahap pendefinisian, perancangan, pengembangan, dan tahap disseminasi. Hasil penelitian berupa perangkat pembelajaran bangun ruang yang terdiri atas silabus, RPP, LKS, dan instrumen evaluasi berupa tes pencapaian kompetensi dasar dan kemampuan berpikir kritis yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Kevalidan perangkat mencapai kategori sangat baik ditinjau dari penilaian para ahli. Kepraktisan perangkat mencapai kategori sangat baik ditinjau dari penilaian guru, penilaian peserta didik, dan observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Aspek keefektifan dipenuhi dari tercapainya minimal 75% peserta didik lulus KKM ditinjau dari pencapaian kompetensi dasar dan berpikir kritis, serta lebih dari 80% peserta didik mempunyai sikap terhadap matematika dalam kategori tinggi. Dari kegiatan ekperimen diperoleh bahwa perangkat yang dikembangkan lebih efektif daripada perangkat pembelajaran konvensional ditinjau dari pencapaian kompetensi dasar, berpikir kritis, dan sikap terhadap matematika.

Developning Space Learning Kits in Junior High School with Problem-Based Learning Approach
Abstract
This study was aimed to produce space learning kits with problem-based learning approach in Junior High School which was valid, practical, and effective based on achievement of basic competence, critical thinking skill, and attitude towards mathematics. This study was and development study using the 4D development model that included defining, designing, developing, and disseminating phase. This study produced valid, practical, and effective space learning kits that consisted of syllabus, lesson plans, students\u27 worksheets, and assessment tests that included test of basic competence achievement and critical thinking test. Kits validity gets very good category from expert assessment. Kits practically gets very good category from teachers assessment, students assessment, and observation of learning implementation. The aspect of effectiveness was seen from achievement minimal 75% of the student pass the minimum score for achievement of basic competence and critical thinking skill, and more than 80% of student have attitude toward mathematics in high category. The result of experiment activity shows that the developed learning kits more effective than conventional learning kits based on achievement of basic competence, critical thinking, and attitude toward mathematics.

Pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran trigonometri berbasis strategi pembelajaran inkuiri melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran trigonometri berbasis strategi pembelajaran inkuiri melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD yang valid, praktis, dan efektif ditinjau dari prestasi dan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan yang menggunakan model pengembangan 4-D yang dikembangkan oleh Thiagarajan, Semmel dan Semmel. Pengembangan perangkat dimulai dari tahap: awal-akhir, analisis siswa, analisis tugas, analisis konsep, analisis spesifikasi tujuan pembelajaran, pemilihan media, pemilihan format, desain produk, penilaian ahli dan praktisi, uji coba terbatas dan uji coba lapangan. Subjek uji coba sebanyak 67 orang siswa kelas X SMAN Bernas Kabupaten Pelalawan, Provinsi Riau yang terdiri atas sembilan orang pada uji coba terbatas dan 58 orang pada uji coba lapangan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif ditinjau dari pretasi dan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa sehingga perangkat tersebut layak digunakan sebagai sumber belajar.

Developing an Inquiry Model-Based Trigonometry Teaching Kit Using STAD Method
Abstract
The aim of this study is to produce an inquiry model-based trigonometry teaching kit using STAD method of cooperative learning which is valid, practical, and effective in terms of students\u27 mathematics achievement and communication skills.This is a research and development study (R & D), which consisted of a 4-D development model by Thiangarajan, Semmel and Semmel. The development process started with front-end analysis, learner analysis, task analysis, concept analysis, specifying of objectives analysis, media selection, format selection, product design, validators\u27 and practitioners\u27 evaluations, small scale try-out, and the field test. There were a total of 67 subjects used for the study which consisted of nine students for the small try-out and 58 students for the field test. The subjects were year 10 students of Bernas Senior High School in the region of Pelalawan, Riau. The results reveal that the developed product is valid, practical, and effective in terms of students\u27 mathematics achievement and communication skills to be used as a learning resource.
