China\u27s K-12 teacher qualification system
A strict teacher qualification system is vital to ensure a steady stream flow of high-quality human resources. In 1993, the People\u27s Republic of China established the Teacher Law demanding that teachers must have legal status and qualifications. It has put into effect a system of qualification that could determine the readiness of K-12 teacher candidates to be practitioners of education. This country\u27s teacher qualification system has experienced changes and adaptations until it has reached the current form in 2016\u27s Teacher Qualification Examination, as more than a tool merely for formality or evaluation of rote learning, but an actual assessment of pre-service teachers\u27 knowledge and abilities to conduct classroom teaching in authentic settings. This paper introduces this qualification examination system, while also mentioning some important and distinguishable aspects of teachers\u27 situations in China, in the hope that it will shed some light on how this Asian giant is currently conducting its education

The impact of independent learning on students\u27 accounting learning outcomes at vocational high school
The independence of student learning in recent years was discussed in several articles. Through the development of an independent attitude in learning, students can diagnose learning difficulties and find the right solution to solve them. This study was aimed at finding out how the influence of learning independence on students\u27 accounting learning outcomes. The type of research used is ex-post facto quantitative research. The population of the research is all students of class XI of Public Middle School in the city of Yogyakarta, with a total of 156 students. The instruments used were questionnaires and multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Validity and reliability of the questionnaire were measured using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) through the Lisrel 8.80 application, while the validity and reliability of MCQs were measured using Rasch approach through the Quest application. Several questionnaires in the form of questionnaires and documentation were used on the testing instrument. The number of instruments for learning independence was 19 statements. The closed statement form used a Likert scale consisting of five alternative answers. The number of MCQs is 18 questions. There were 18 valid statements found after going through the calculation of validation, reliability, difficulty level of the question, and distinguishing power. Simple regression was used for the data analysis technique. The results of the study show that the learning independence variable has a significant and positive influence. It can be seen from the learning independence variable, which has a value of 2.187 and a significance value smaller than 0.05 (0.030 \u3c0.05)

The effectiveness of project-based learning viewed from students\u27 learning achievement, critical thinking skill, and self-confidence
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to describe the effectiveness of project-based learning in statistical material viewed from learning achievement, critical thinking skills, and self-confidence of seventh-grade junior high school students. Project-based learning consists of six steps: (1) determining the project; (2) designing project completion steps; (3) preparing the project implementation schedule; (4) completion of the project with facilitation and monitoring from the teacher; (5) preparation of reports and presentation/ publication of project results; and (6) evaluation and results of the project. The population in this study was seventh-grade students of SMP 1 Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The instruments used were a learning achievement test, a critical thinking ability test, a self-confidence questionnaire, and an observation sheet of learning accomplishments. Hypothesis testing uses the proportion Z test at a significant level of 95% (α = 5%). Based on the results of the hypothesis test, the proportion of students who have learning achievement reached KKM was more than 75%. The proportion of students who have critical thinking skills and self-confidence in the minimum category of good was more than 75%. Thus it could be concluded that project-based learning was an effective view from students\u27 learning achievement, critical thinking skills, and self-confidence
