Sensitivitas antarbudaya mahasiswa di Yogyakarta
Di dalam masyarakat majemuk atau multikultural seperti Indonesia ini, sensitivitas antarbudaya yang dimiliki warga masyarakat menjadi elemen penting untuk terciptanya kehidupan bermasyarakat, berbangsa dan bernegara yang damai. Namun demikian, penelitian yang memfokuskan pada sensitivitas antarbudaya belum banyak dilakukan. Oleh karena itu, peneliti tertarik untuk meneliti masalah sensitivitas antarbudaya, khususnya di kalangan mahasiswa. Secara khusus, penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk membandingkan tingkat sensitivitas antarbudaya mahasiswa di tiga program studi yang ada di UNY, UPNV, dan UNRIYO. Penelitian yang menghasilkan luaran berupa tulisan ini merupakan penelitian komparatif, berusaha membandingkan tingkat sensitivitas antarbudaya mahasiswa tiga program studi (Keperawatan, PKn, dan Teknik Perminyakan). Responden penelitian ini sebanyak 90 mahasiswa yang dipilih secara acak dari tiga program studi tersebut (Keperawatan: 30; PKn: 30; dan Teknik Perminyakan: 30). Metode pengumpulan data adalah dengan penyebaran angket. Data dianalisis secara statistik baik secara deskriptif maupun komparatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan tingkat sensitivitas antarbudaya di antara tiga program studi tersebut. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa mahasiswa dari ketiga program studi tersebut memiliki tingkat sensitivitas antarbudaya yang tinggi, karena berada pada kategori pendukung cultural relativism, bukan cultural egocentrism.
ABSTRACT
In a pluralistic or multicultural society like Indonesia, intercultural sensitivity possessed by citizens is an important element for the creation of a peaceful society, nation, and state. However, there has not been much research focusing on intercultural sensitivity. Therefore, researchers are interested in examining the issue of intercultural sensitivity, especially among students. Specifically, this research was intended to compare the level of intercultural sensitivity among students in the three study programs at UNY, UPNV, and UNRIYO. The research report written in this paper is a comparative study, trying to compare the level of sensitivity among students of three study programs (Nursing, Civics, and Petroleum Engineering). The research respondents were 90 students who were randomly selected from the three study programs (Nursing: 30; Civics: 30; and Petroleum Engineering: 30). The method of collecting data is by distributing questionnaires. Data were analyzed statistically both descriptively and comparatively. The results showed that there was no significant difference in the level of intercultural sensitivity among the three study programs. Thus, it can be concluded that students from the three study programs have a high level of intercultural sensitivity, because it is in the category of supporting cultural relativism, not cultural egocentrism
Pengembangan Prototipe Sistem Pengontrolan Daya Listrik berbasis IoT ESP32 pada Smart Home System
Internet sudah menjadi kebutuhan pokok bagi lapisan masyarakat. Teknologi yang saat ini masih terus berkembang adalah teknologi berbasis Internet of Things. Untuk memanfaatkan teknologi IoT pastinya membutuhkan suatu konektivitas internet yang kuat dan fasilitas yang memadai. Dalam hal ini peneliti membuat suatu projek IoT yaitu sistem Smart Home dengan Kontrol Daya Listrik Berbasis IoT. Metode yang digunakan dalam pembuatan projek adalah 1) identifikasi dan analisis kebutuhan, 2) perancangan serta pembuatan software dan hardware, 3) tahap pengujian. Fitur sistem smart home yang dibuat menggunakan modul wifi ESP32, dikarenakan modul tersebut mampu menggunakan konektivitas wifi ataupun bluetooth. Sedangkan untuk aplikasi interface software yang digunakan yaitu aplikasi Blynk. Sehingga nantinya dapat digunakan untuk menghidupkan dan mematikan peralatan elektronika yang ada di rumah, seperti lampu, kipas angin, dan televisi yang dikontrol menggunakan smartphone. Keunggulan dari projek smart home ini adalah mampu untuk memonitoring penggunaan daya listrik di rumah dan menampilkan prakiraan biaya rekening listrik tiap bulannya
Evaluation of the implementation of professional development efforts in improving the professionalism of Geography teachers
This study aims to determine how the implementation of teacher professional development efforts and the government and/or related agencies\u27 participation in supporting teacher professional improvement can formulate sustainable professional development efforts in improving the professionalism of high school geography teachers in Brebes Regency. This evaluation study used the discrepancy model. The method used was descriptive quantitative and analyzed using percentage descriptive techniques. The data in this evaluation study were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and observations. The sample in this study consisted of 30 high school Geography teachers in Brebes Regency, while the sampling technique used was disproportionate stratified random sampling. Regardless of the results of the study that Geography teachers had a good understanding of the duties and obligations that had to be fulfilled as professional teachers, that efforts for sustainable professional development had not been fully implemented properly. The result shows that the Sustainable Professional Development efforts carried out by Geography teachers are in the criteria of “Good Enough“ with an average score of 66.83 (out of a maximum score of 120). From several programs supporting the teachers\u27 professional development, only a few programs are routinely carried out by Geography teachers, including internal coaching by supervisors, Geography subject forum activities, and workshops. Besides, several professional development programs deserve special attention from the government due to the lack of teacher participation, namely apprenticeships, short courses, distance learning, level training, and further education, given that some of these programs provide opportunities for teachers to update and develop their knowledge
An analysis of the suitability of students\u27 civic knowledge and disposition in the topic of citizen\u27s rights and obligations
Civic Education has been taught in primary education, but it has not impacted significantly with no strength and function. It is proven by the number of youths who have not understood and implement the citizen right and obligation (hak dan kewajiban warga negara) topic in Civic Education for their daily life. Thus, civic knowledge and civic disposition have not run as expected. This matter has become a great task for Civic Education lecturers to maximize and correlate comprehensively civic knowledge and civic disposition. This study discussed the suitability of civic knowledge and civic disposition in the topic of “Hak dan Kewajiban Warga Negara“. This study was descriptive research with a qualitative approach conducted in Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD), SMKN 1 Kalikajar (Vocational High School), SMPN 1 Magelang (Junior High School), and SD Kembangsongo (Elementary School) and focused on Civic Education subject by using purposeful sampling. The data were collected through interviews and documentation. The data were then analyzed through the triangulation technique. This study resulted that students in their daily life have not fully implemented both civic knowledge and civic disposition. The matter was caused by students and lecturers of the Civic Education, whereas the subject\u27s topic has met the criteria of the curriculum in the level of Elementary School, Junior High School, and Senior High School/Vocational High School although not all topics were taught in these levels
Alternative item selection strategies for improving test security in computerized adaptive testing of the algorithm
One of the ability estimation methods that is widely applied to the Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT) algorithm is the maximum likelihood estimation (MLE). However, the maximum likelihood method has the disadvantage of being unable to find a solution to the ability estimation of test-takers when the test takers\u27 scores do not have a pattern. If there are test takers who get either score of 0 or perfect score, then the abilities of test-takers are usually estimated using the step-size model. However, the step-size model often results in item exposure where certain items will appear more often than other items. This surely threatens the security of the test because items that often appear will be easier to recognize. This study tries to provide an alternative strategy by modifying the step-size model and randomizing the calculation results of the information function obtained. Based on the results of the study, it is found that alternative strategies for item selection can make more varied items appear to improve the security of tests on the CAT
Factor analysis: Competency framework for measuring student achievements of architectural engineering education in Indonesia
This study aims to prove the validity test and estimate the instrument\u27s reliability to measure student achievement in the department of architectural engineering education in Indonesia. The cluster random sampling technique was used to determine the number of students consisting of 103 vocational education students. This study uses a survey method to examine and analyze the structure of students\u27 competency achievements factors. The collected empirical data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA). EFA test is intended to reveal factors that can be formed from instruments that have been established for measurement of achievements of vocational student competencies. The analysis results using EFA showed that the instrument had good construct validity. The result of this research shows that the instrument test for measuring the achievement of student competencies has good reliability and consists of 30 competency items covering ten competency aspects, namely general competencies, technical drawing, statically structures, basic building construction, land measurement engineering, software application and building interior design, road and bridge construction, estimated construction costs, building construction and utility, creative and entrepreneurship product competencies
Techniques adopted in teaching students organic chemistry course for several years
Organic chemistry is a compulsory course for both science and science education students. Therefore a proper course design is needed to ease the understanding of the concepts considered difficult in terms of learning activities, application of technology, and innovation in the curriculum structure. Various studies have been carried out to solve problems in organic chemistry courses, with the majority focused on concept mastery due to students\u27 difficulty. Furthermore, their thinking skills need to be improved after graduating from the university in accordance with the 21st century, which is associated with the application of technology and curriculum modification. The results showed that most studies in organic chemistry courses focused on improving students\u27 concept, understanding, and thinking abilities. Therefore, little application of technology and curriculum modification is still needed in the innovation of organic chemistry courses, especially in applying technology. In conclusion, courses related to organic chemistry still need innovation, especially in the application of technology. This research can serve as a reference for developing organic chemistry learning in the future
Efek suplementasi kalsium terhadap kebugaran dan profil kesehatan pada atlet tarung derajat
Kalsium merupakan mineral utama yang sangat dibutuhkan oleh atlet untuk kekuatan tulang, sendi dan kontraksi otot pada saat berolahraga. Olahraga berat dan berlangsung lama secara progresif akan meningkatkan kebutuhan kalsium. Inadekuat asupan kalsium berdampak terhadap hipokalsemia yang akan meningkatkan risiko terjadinya cedera olahraga. Tujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis pengaruh suplementasi kalsium terhadap kebugaran dan kesehatan pada atlet Tarung Derajat. Design penelitiannya adalah eksperimental (one group pretest-post test design). Total 21 atlet Tarung Derajat, usia 18-25 tahun, putra dan putri sebagai subjek. Pemeriksaan meliputi, pengukuran: komponen fisik untuk mengetahui kebugaran, anthropometri (berat, tinggi, dan indeks massa tubuh), dan tekanan darah untuk mengetahui profil kesehatan, dan kalsium darah. Intervensi berupa pemberian tablet kalsium sitrat, dosis 1x1000 mg/hari, diberikan setelah makan malam dan selama 35 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jumlah atlet putri dengan hipokalsemia menurun 50%, dari 44.44% (sebelum) menjadi 22,22% setelah pemberian kalsium. Kebugaran meningkat (p\u3c0,05), namun tidak terjadi perubahan pada berat (p\u3e0,05), indeks massa tubuh (IMT) (p\u3e0,05), tekanan darah (TD) (p\u3e0,05) dan kadar kalsium (p\u3e0,05) setelah suplementasi kalsium. Simpulan: suplementasi kalsium menurunkan jumlah hipokalsemia pada atlet putri, meningkatkan kebugaran, dan meningkatkan secara tidak bermakna kadar kalsium. Sebaliknya suplementasi kalsium tidak berpengaruh terhadap anthropometri (berat dan indeks massa tubuh), dan TD pada atlet Tarung Derajat.
Effects of calcium supplementation on physical fitness and health profile in tarung derajat athletes
Abstract
Calcium is the main mineral that is needed by athletes for bone strength, joint, and muscle contraction during exercise. Strenuous and prolonged exercise will progressively increase calcium requirements. This inadequate calcium intake is having an impact on hypocalcemia and increasing the risk of sports injuries. The purpose of the study was to analyze the effect of calcium supplementation on fitness and health in Tarung Derajat athletes. The research design was experimental (pretest-posttest without control group design). A total of 21 Tarung Derajat athletes, aged 18-25 years, male and female were the subjects. The examination was physical fitness, anthropometric values, and blood pressure to determine the health profile, and blood calcium. The intervention was a calcium tablet, a dose of 1x1000 mg/day, given after dinner, and for 35 days. The results showed that the number of female athletes with hypocalcemia decreased by 50%, from 44.44% (before) to 22.22% after calcium therapy. Physical fitness increased (p\u3c0.05), but there was no change in weight (p\u3e0.05), body mass index (BMI) (p\u3e0.05), blood pressure (BP) (p\u3e0.05)) and calcium levels (p\u3e0.05) after calcium supplementation. Conclusions: Calcium supplementation has reduced the amount of hypocalcemia in female athletes, increased physical fitness, and did not significantly increase calcium levels. Calcium supplementation has no effect on anthropometry (weight and body mass index) and BP in Tarung Derajat athletes
Identifikasi penyebab kenaikan berat badan pada anak usia dini
Upaya pencegahan masalah berat badan berlebih menjadi fokus utama saat ini berdasarkan peningkatan resiko kesehatan akibat overweight dan obesitas, teruatama pada anak-anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengindentifikasi penyebab kenaikan berat badan pada anak usia dini dengan metode penelitian cross sectional. Jumlah subjek penelitian terdiri dari enam puluh enam anak. Teknik analisa yang digunakan adalah analisis multivariat. Hasil penelitian menujukkan terdapat hubungan bermakna (p \u3c 0.05) antara variabel varian terhadap kenaikan berat pada anak usia dini. Hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa faktor rendahnya aktivitas fisik, genetik dari orang tua dan pola makan berhubungan terhadap kenaikan berat badan pada anak usia dini.
Identify the causes of weight gain in early childhood
Abstract
Today, the efforts to prevent weight gain excess become the main focus base on increased health risk consequences of overweight and obesity, especially in childhood. This research to investigate the factors that affect the incidence of overweight/obesity in childhood with an ex post facto research method. The total subject for this research was sixty-six children with data analysis using multivariate analysis. The results of this research are showing there is a significant correlation between variants variable on the increased weight gain excess in childhood. Finally, inactive physical activity, genetic, and diet are related to weight gain excess in childhood
Validitas dan reliabilitas instrumen tes reaktif agility tenis meja
Instrumen tes reaktif agility sangat diperlukan oleh beberapa cabang olahraga termasuk tenis meja, tetapi kenyataan belum ada instrumen tes reaktif agility untuk tenis meja. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji validitas dan reliabilitas tes reaktif agility tenis meja. Metode research and development yang dipergunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu model 3D yang merupakan modifikasi model dari Thiagarajan yaitu Develop, dengan pendekatan campuran kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Partisipan adalah dokumen dan seoarang ahli. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik literature reviews dengan tipe narrative review, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan FGD dan teknik delphi. Instrumen penelitian menggunaka koesioner dengan skala rating 1 sampai 4. Analisis data menggunakan formula Aiken\u27s untuk uji konten validitas dan Cronbach\u27s Alpha maupun intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC) untuk uji reliabilitas antar rater. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai koefisien Aiken\u27s V di atas 0,76, maka dapat dikatakan bahwa semua aspek valid. Selain itu, juga dihasilkan nilai Cronbach\u27s Alpha dan ICC sebesar 0,875, maka dapat dikatakan bahwa instrumen ini cukup andal. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa tes reaktif agility tenis meja memiliki validitas Aiken cukup tinggi, dan reliabilitas antar rater cukup kuat.
Validity and reliability of reactive agility test instrument table tennis
Abstract
The reactive agility test instrument is strongly needed by several sports, including table tennis. Nevertheless, there has no reactive agility measurement instrument used in table tennis. The purpose of this study was to test the validity and reliability of the test reactive agility table tennis. The research and development (R&D) method used in this study refers to the 3D model, which is a modification model from Thiagarajan, including Develop, using a mixed approach of qualitative and quantitative. The participants were documents and an expert. Data were collected using a literature review technique with the narrative review, then proceeded with FGD and Delphi technique. The research instrument used was a questionnaire with a rating scale of 1 to 4. Data were analyzed using Aiken\u27s formula to test the content validity and Cronbach\u27s Alpha as well as intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) to test the inter-rater reliability. The research result shows that the Aiken\u27s V coefficient value is above 0.76, indicating that all aspects are valid. Furthermore, Cronbach\u27s Alpha and ICC value are 0.875, indicating that the instrument is quite reliable. Therefore, it is concluded that the reactive agility test instrument for table tennis has a quite high Aiken validity and a quite strong inter-rater reliability
