Effect of post-training meals on blood glucose and blood pressure in young soccer athletes: Intervention and correlational study
Macronutrient content of post-exercise meal is a fundamental for achieving optimal recovery following exercise training. This study aimed to analyze the effects of a high-fat meal consumed after training on blood glucose and pressure levels in young male soccer athletes. Furthermore, examining the relationship among body composition variables was a secondary objective. A pre-post intervention study was conducted with 34 male soccer athletes (age: 16 ± 0.8 years). Participants consumed a high-fat meal (-45% of total intake 1061 kcal) immediately after strenuous training. Blood samples were collected at baseline, immediately post-training, and 1 h post-training to assess trends in blood glucose and pressure levels. Bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) was used to measure participant characteristics. Statistical analysis was performed using one-way repeated measures ANOVA followed by post hoc Bonferroni tests to determine significant differences between groups. Pearson correlation analysis was conducted to examine the relationships among the body composition variables. The average skeletal muscle mass and body fat percentage were approximately 59% and 24.6%, respectively. Glucose levels remained unchanged immediately after training but increased significantly by ~17% (p \u3c 0.001) 1 h later. Systolic blood pressure (SBP) decreased by ~5% (p = 0.03) at 1 h post-training, while diastolic blood pressure (DBP) exhibited minimal change (p = 0.06). A correlation analysis indicated an inverse relationship between body mass and skeletal muscle mass, contrasting with the linear relationship between body mass and body fat. The results suggest that a high-fat meal consumed after exercise may lead to an increase in glucose levels 1 h post-exercise. The slight reduction in SBP observed 1 h post-training may represent a normal physiological response to exercise. Since the current study did not have the exercise-only group, further research is needed to confirm whether the change of the blood glucose levels was mainly from the diet

The effectiveness of the Javanese Kickfun Game (J-KIG) as a medium for introducing Wayang Kulit to teenagers
Wayang kulit is a Javanese cultural heritage that is full of moral and philosophical values, but adolescents\u27 interest in it is decreasing. Therefore, an innovative approach is needed to reintroduce wayang kulit to the younger generation. This study aims to test the effectiveness of the Javanese Kickfun Game (J-KIG) in introducing puppetry to adolescents. The method used was a quasi-experiment with a one group pretest-posttest design. The research sample consisted of 14 adolescents from Pundong 1, Sleman, Indonesia. The instrument used was the J-KIG cognitive test, and the data analysis was carried out by the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The results of the normality test showed that the pretest data were normal and the posttest data were not distributed normally, so non-parametric analysis was used. The results of the Wilcoxon test showed a significant improvement between pretest and posttest scores (Z = −3.210; p = 0.001), with 13 respondents improving and 1 respondent having the same score. These findings show that J-KIG is effectively used as an educational medium to introduce the values of wayang kulit to adolescents. The implication of this study is that sports games combined with Wayang kulit, which is a Javanese cultural heritage rich in moral and philosophical values, can be an innovative strategy in physical education, character building, and cultural preservation
Integrating civic spirituality and civic disposition to build ethical citizen character
This research aims to explore and combine the concepts of civic spirituality and disposition to build ethical citizens\u27 character. These two concepts complement each other, with civic spirituality focusing on religious values in society and civic disposition on civic attitudes that support active participation and responsibility. This research used the literature method, analysing relevant literature and theories on civic education, spirituality, and ethics. The results showed that the integration of civic spirituality and civic disposition can be a solid foundation for building the character of ethical, moral, and socially responsible citizens. This integration forms ethical citizens through religious values, such as basic morals, citizen activeness, responsibility, and norm-compliant citizenship. This concept strengthens the citizens\u27 spiritual aspects, supports the development of a positive civic attitude, and focuses on the common good. The benefits of this research are that it offers insights for educators, policymakers, and the public in designing more comprehensive and effective civic education programs that aim to shape citizens with strong character, ethics, and morals
The Parent-SmalQ Indonesia surveillance content validation involves monitoring and verifying physical activity behavior, sleep patterns, and dietary intake in children
The 24-hour guidelines heavily consider the dietary intake, sleep patterns, and physical activity habits of children. This study aims to determine the validity of the Parent-SmalQ Indonesia content for each question item, facilitating clear communication, comprehension, and implementation as an assessment tool for investigating children\u27s lifestyles, consists of physical activity habits, sleep patterns, and dietary intake (three domains). Methods: The research targets both children and their parents, integrating their behaviours into a cohesive unit of voluntary participants. This validity assessment employs the phases of the Content Validation Index (CVI) for specific computations. Resuls: The three evaluated indicators are generated from the clarity, relevance, and completeness of each question item, comprising a total of 20 questions, with 3 validation items for each question, derived from 6 domains (3 domains for children; 3 domains for parents). Results from content validation indicate that the CVI elements of clarity (0.80 \u3e 0.78), relevance (0.85 \u3e 0.78), and completeness (0.85 \u3e 0.78) were satisfactory. Conclusion: The Parent-SmalQ Indonesia questionnaire has achieved an adequate level of validity as a tool for assessing physical activity habits, sleep patterns, and dietary consumption. The Parent-SmalQ Indonesia questionnaire, verified for content, can predict children\u27s behavior based on parental behaviours about physical activity, sleep, and dietary intake

Jurgen Habermas\u27s views on legal validity and discourse ethics: A literature review
In modern states, law is often reduced to merely a tool of power. Many contemporary practices treat law as nothing more than a procedural requirement, disregarding its substantive values and the social conditions of society. This article discusses the validity of law within a political community from Habermas\u27s perspective. According to him, the law must be discursive and stem from rational subjects capable of effective communication. The fundamental questions addressed are: how can law ideally be derived from norms within a political society? And how can law subsequently foster a democratic society? This article employs historical-factual methods, with primary sources drawn from the works of Jürgen Habermas. Habermas used discourse ethics and the theory of communicative action. Data collection is conducted through textual analysis. The article concludes that the validity of law must originate from discursive norms present in society, even though there may be tensions between theory and practice in society
Empowering young minds: Transforming social studies education to foster digital ethics in elementary schools
The rapid development of digital technology demands integrating digital ethics skills into the education process, including at the elementary school level. The study explores the transformation of social science teaching in elementary schools to build students\u27 digital ethics skills. This study uses a qualitative method as a literature study, including analysing various relevant academic sources, such as journal articles, books, and previous research reports. The focus lies on how the pedagogical approach in Social Sciences can be adjusted to instil digital ethics values, such as responsible use of technology, privacy awareness, and critical thinking skills towards digital information. The study results indicate that teaching social Sciences has excellent potential as an effective medium for introducing the concept of digital ethics to students. Students can better understand the importance of ethical behaviour in the online environment through project-based learning methods, group discussions, and case studies related to social issues in the digital world. In addition, the role of teachers as facilitators is vital in guiding students to develop a critical understanding of the information they encounter online. The transformation of social science teaching integrated with digital ethics improves students\u27 technological literacy and forms character as responsible technology users. The study\u27s implications are expected to be a reference for educators in designing a curriculum relevant to the needs of the digital era
Legal analysis of the application of the principle of Contrarius Actus related to the cancellation of documents to fulfil citizen’s rights in population administration at the population and civil registration office
This research describes and examines the implementation of the Contrarius Actus principle in cancelling population documents and the obstacles to applying the Contrarius Actus principle in cancelling population documents. The type of research used is descriptive empirical research with a qualitative approach. The description of the research results is complemented by primary and literature data relevant to the research topic. The results of this study indicate that the application of cancelling population documents through the Contrarius Actus principle has its criteria, namely, not changing the meaning in population documents and population documents issued by the Population and Civil Registration Office. Based on the analysis of implementation theory by Merilee S. Grindle, implementing the Contrarius Actus principle in cancelling population documents follows and fulfils the indicators of the success of policy implementation, namely policy content and implementation environment. Although this implementation has gone well, some internal and external obstacles remain. Internal barriers include the absence of templates and detailed steps from the centre and the absence of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) updates. External barriers include the high number of applications, the lack of understanding of this principle among the population, and the difficulty in determining the time between the applicant and the head of the field for the interview
