    In this paper, we extend the classes of generalized type I vector valued functions introduced by Aghezzaf and Hachimi[1] to generalized univex type I vector-valued functions and consider a multiobjective optimization problem involving generalized type I function with (φ,r ) -univexity. A number of Kuhn-Tucker type sufficient optimality conditions are obtained for a feasible solution to be an efficient solution. The Mond-Weir and general Mond-Weir type duality results are also presented

    This paper expresses an application of similarity matching of the signatures through DTW.Fundamental aspect of classification is template matching. The classification is robust tonoise, scaling, and rotation. Feature includes radius plus angle along the boundary points withrespect to center of gravity. The classification automatically and confidently discloses theshape of every object at once throughout page from top to bottom. The paper expresses itspromising results within an average of a few seconds (cheaper classification) for an object. Aseries of tests is done with all possible configurations of geometrical shapes

    Though water and land pollution is very dangerous, air pollution has its own peculiarities, due to its transboundary dispersion of pollutants over the entire world. In any well planned urban set up, industrial pollution takes a back seat and vehicular emissions take precedence as the major cause of urban air pollution. Air pollution is one of the serious problems faced by the people globally, especially in urban areas of developing countries like India. All these in turn lead to an increase in the air pollution levels and have adverse effects on the health of people and plants. Western countries have conducted several studies in this area, but there are only a few studies in developing countries like India. A study on ambient air quality in Tiruchirappalli urban area and its possible effects selected plants and human health has been undertaken, which may be helpful to bring out possible control measures

    Monitoring of toxic metals (cadmium, lead, arsenic and mercury) in vegetables of Sindh, Pakistan

    A monitoring study was carried out with the aim to assess the level of toxic metals i.e., lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), arsenic (As) and mercury (Hg) in different vegetables grown in Sindh province of Pakistan during 2007-2008. Two hundred ten samples of twenty one vegetables were collected from farmers' field of Sindh and exporters at Karachi. These samples were grouped into four categories viz., leafy, root and tuberous, cucurbits and fruity. The samples in duplicate were digested with nitric and perchloric acid mixture with 3:1 ratio. Cadmium and Pb were analyzed with Graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer and As and Hg on Atomic Absorption using Vapor and Hydride Generation Assembly. Average concentration of Cd, Pb, As and Hg in leafy vegetables was found 0.083 μgg-1, 0.05 μgg-1, 0.042 μgg-1 and 0.008 μgg-1 respectively, in roots and tuberous vegetables was 0.057 μgg-1, 0.03 μgg-1, 0.045 μgg-1 & 0.004 μgg-1 respectively, in cucurbit vegetables was 0.021 μgg-1, 0.051 μgg-1, 0.056 μgg-1 and 0.0089 μgg-1 respectively and in fruity vegetables was 0.035 μgg-1, 0.067 μgg-1, 0.054 μgg-1 and 0.007 μgg-1 respectively. In leafy vegetables, the concentration of cadmium, lead and mercury were found comparatively higher than other three groups of vegetables. However, concentration of heavy metals found in the samples of all four categories of vegetables, was within the permissible limits and safe to consume

    Mobility Analysis of Kinematic Chains

    In the present work a simple and efficient method is proposed to identify whether a kinematicchain posses total, partial or fractionated mobility. The proposed method uses the chain flowvalues (CFV) derived from the flow matrix of the given kinematic chain and successfullyapplied to all known cases of 2 and 3 degree of freedom planar kinematic chains. Since themethod is systematic and efficient, it can be applied to the more complex chains which nothave been reported in the literature yet. This study will be helpful in dividing the frame andinput links from the view point of mobility. Some examples are provided to demonstrate theeffectiveness of this method

    Physico-Chemical and Bacteriological Investigation on the River Cauvery of Kollegal Stretch in Karnataka

    Cauvery River is the major river system of south India was studied for 19 prime physicochemicaland 2 bacteriological parameters at six locations of the Kollegal stretch, for a periodof Two years (2006–2008) at monthly intervals. Over the years of time, river has beensubjected to human interference regularly and water quality was to be getting deterioratedprofoundly. Major anthropogenic activities practiced in and around the stretch: agriculture,abstraction of water for irrigation and drinking, washing cloths and utensils, discharging ofsewage waste, sand dredging, boating, fishing, open defecation and religious ritual activitiesalong the stretch were generating serious threat to the biota of the river by altering thephysicochemical and biological concentration of the river system. The seasonal and yearlytrends were discussed to comprehend anthropogenic interferences on the river stretch.Correlation analysis was also been tried in between physico-chemical parameters. The pH,Conductance, Alkalinity and Hardness levels indicate the moderate quality of water. Thevalues of DO, BOD and COD levels indicate the absence of major organic pollution sources.Seasonal and yearly averages of plant nutrients like phosphate, nitrates, potassium and alsosulphates at drain out falls and mixing zones, were not showing any significant variation intheir concentration indicate no sign of problems like eutrophication, which is generally raisedue to agricultural and sewage wastes. The other possibility is that since there are no majorindustries in the project area, the major source of organic pollutants is only the domesticsource. Population density spread over sparsely located villages like Dasanapura and Harlecertainly contributes towards total and fecal coliforms as excreta of the villagers due to lackof toilets in their houses. Thus present study concludes that river water was not polluted; allresults are within permissible limit when compared with Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS)and National River water quality standards
