Novos Movimentos Sociais nos media: Narrativas marginais ou marginalizadas? A visão dos jovens
No full textNew social movements emerge in Portugal as relevant actors in democratic decision-making processes. As more democratic, young and urban, new social movements engage in a relevant change in the processes of negotiation (Santos 2008, 2001; Schemmeling 2009; Swyngedouw 2010; Touraine 2002, 1994), publicizing marginal claims and minority flags (Guerra 2006; Henriques 2007; Picolotto 2007; Alonso 2009). So, this article aims to discover: ”How to define today’s narratives of the New Social Movements in Portuguese media, in the view of young people?”. The methodological resources used are documentary research and inquiry to a nonprobabilistic sample survey by voluntary system. The most significant results found about new activism are: a) journalistic pieces are evaluated, by youth, as partial, superficial and controversial; b) the respondents associate some advantages to the new activism: flexibility, new technologies, and the perception of helping the world; c) and, finally, the respondents associate disadvantages to the new activism: extremism, violence, controversy

No full textThe development of students’ autonomy as a purpose of science education, in conjunction with an epistemological-pedagogical paradigm of socioconstructivist nature can be achieved through the development of students’ self-direction, involving them in structuring and conducting the learning process. It is in this context that we designed, implementated and evaluated a pedagogical strategy in the context of the discipline of Natural Sciences in the 9th grade. It is characterised, globally, by the progressive transfer of responsibility for the structuring and conduction of the learning process from the teacher to the students. An evaluation of the pedagogical intervention highlights the impact on students’ engagement and motivation in the learning process, but also points out difficulties experienced by students in selecting and structuring the activities to be adopted for learning.El desarrollo de la autonomía del alumno como propósito de la enseñanza de las ciencias, en conjunción con un paradigma epistemológico-pedagógico de carácter socioconstructivista puede lograrse a través del desarrollo de la autodirección del alumno, involucrándolo en la estructuración y conducción del proceso de aprendizaje. Es en este contexto que se procedió al diseño, implementación y evaluación de una estrategia pedagógica en la asignatura de Ciencias Naturales en el 9º grado. Se caracteriza, de forma global, por una transferencia progresiva de la responsabilidad de la estructuración y conducción del proceso de aprendizaje del profesor para los alumnos. La evaluación de la intervención pedagógica pone de manifiesto el impacto en el compromiso y la motivación de los estudiantes en el proceso de aprendizaje, pero también señala las dificultades experimentadas por los estudiantes a la hora de seleccionar y estructurar las actividades a adoptar para el aprendizaje.O desenvolvimento da autonomia do aluno como uma finalidade da educação em Ciências, em articulação com um paradigma epistemológico-pedagógico de cariz socioconstrutivista pode ser conseguido através do desenvolvimento da autodireção do aluno, envolvendo-o na estruturação e condução do processo de aprendizagem. É neste âmbito que se procedeu à conceção, implementação e avaliação de uma estratégia pedagógica na disciplina de Ciências Naturais do 9º ano de escolaridade. Caracteriza-se, globalmente, pela transferência progressiva da responsabilidade da estruturação e condução do processo de aprendizagem do professor para os alunos. Uma avaliação da intervenção pedagógica permite evidenciar o impacto no envolvimento e na motivação dos alunos no processo de aprendizagem, mas assinalar, também, dificuldades sentidas pelos alunos na seleção e estruturação das atividades a adotar para a aprendizagem

No full textIn D’Ambrosio’s ethnomathematics, the evolution of ideas and their influence on historical developments, in particular, the dominance of the Eurocentric conception of mathematics and its role in shaping human and social behaviour, became a central problematique. D’Ambrosio’s impact is that he has gathered together under the umbrella of ethnomathematics passionate mathematics educators inspired to do better as educators and turn their discipline of mathematics education into a vehicle to change world. Subverting long held notions about mathematics may be likened to a project of decolonization. To hold an alternative view of the nature, history and purpose of mathematics is to hold alternative knowledges, which, according to Maori scholar Linda Tuhiwai Smith, has the pedagogical implication of providing the basis for alternative ways of doing things. Thus, one lasting legacy of ethnomathematics is in the field of Indigenous Peoples’ education that advances indigenous ways of thinking, including in ‘mathematics.

No full textThis article aims to show the role of D’Ambrosio and his contributions to the development of ethnomathematics and mathematics education. The work of Ubiratan D'Ambrosio promotes interactions between different social classes by valuing and respecting the diversity of mathematical knowledge that is developed locally in different contexts. In this perspective, D'Ambrosio's concern with the well-being of members of different cultural groups, both nationally and internationally, and also with the preservation of natural and cultural resources, can be summarized as peace found within its various dimensions. This approach is essential for building a planetary civilization that rejects the inequality, arrogance and the prejudices that violate these dimensions of peace.Las producciones dambrosianas promovieron interacciones entre diferentes clases sociales al valorar y respetar la diversidad del conocimiento matemático desarrollado localmente en diferentes contextos. En esta perspectiva, la preocupación de D'Ambrosio por el bienestar de los miembros de diferentes grupos culturales, a nivel nacional e internacional, y también por la preservación de los recursos naturales y culturales, se puede resumir en la Paz total en sus diversas dimensiones. Este enfoque es fundamental para construir una civilización planetaria que rechace la desigualdad, la arrogancia y los prejuicios que violan estas dimensiones de la paz. Así, este artículo tiene como objetivo mostrar el papel de D'Ambrosio y sus contribuciones al desarrollo de las Etnomatemáticas y de la Educación Matemática.As produções dambrosinas promoveram interações entre as diferentes classes sociais ao valorizar e respeitar a diversidade do conhecimento matemático desenvolvido localmente em contextos distintos. Nessa perspectiva, a preocupação de D’Ambrosio com o bem-estar dos membros de grupos culturais distintos, nacional e internacionalmente e, também, com a preservação dos recursos naturais e culturais, pode ser sintetizada como Paz total em suas várias dimensões. Essa abordagem é essencial para a construção de uma civilização planetária que rejeita a desigualdade, a arrogância e o preconceito, que violam essas dimensões da paz. No full textThe aim of this work is to expose the Italian origin of fascism and its ramifications in Brazil, Spain and Portugal, emphasizing the training of young people as ideological warriors. It discusses the role of traditions, the revitalization of the family and the omnipresence of God in building a moralistic, conservative, ultranationalist society. It also demonstrates the importance of using symbols to awaken favorable perceptions of the system, especially the cult of the messianic leader and his belief in leading the nation to a promising future.O presente trabalho objetiva expor a origem italiana do fascismo e suas ramificações no Brasil, Espanha e Portugal, dando ênfase à formação de jovens como guerreiros ideológicos. Em seu conteúdo são abordados o papel das tradições, o revitalizar da família e a onipresença de Deus à edificação de uma sociedade moralista conservadora ultranacionalista. De igual modo demonstra a importância do uso de símbolos focados no despertar de percepções favoráveis ao sistema, máxime, no originar do culto à pessoa do líder messiânico e na crença deste em conduzir a nação a um futuro promissor
