    A Design of Automatic Meat Slicing Machine

    The main purpose of the project is to design an automatic machine to slice chicken meat which is to automate the conventional chicken meat slicing method to modern method. BABARITTOS DELIGHT, it supplies Tortillas Wrap to the popular trend of Food & Beverage (F&B) business called Food Truck. The main ingredient of Burritos is slices of boneless chicken meat, where each slice is approximately 5 mm thick. Conventionally, the company practice a manual cutting process; which uses a normal cutting knife with manual human labour causing the truncating production rate and thickness of the meat; while the demands of the Burritos increases by days. This method requires 3 to 4 workers and one and half hour to cut the 30 kg boneless chicken meat to be cut into roughly 5 mm per slice. The main objective of this project is to design an automatic meat slicing machine to increase the production rate of the sliced meat and in the same time to reduce the number of workers in slicing station. The machine only required one worker to operate and the output can be up to 30kg per 30 minutes which almost triple the quantity of output and labour cost saving. Meanwhile the quality of the sliced meat is enhanced as most of the sliced meat is uniformly 5mm thick. The concept of the design is to cut the meat using several circular cutting blades, where the chicken is placed on the moving conveyor and finally will drop into a sterile tray

    The agriculture sector is one of the major sectors contributing to the nation\u27s income such as rice cultivation. The rice crop activity is a strategic crop that guarantees the security of our national food supplies. To increase the production and ensure the quality of harvesting, highly intensive care and efficient spraying of fertilizers and insecticides are required. This invention has been tested at a paddy plantation at Parit Subari, Semerah, Johor. The Portable Sprinkler is seen as a new mechanism in solving problems of fertilization and spraying of insecticides. Furthermore, the use of this Portable Sprinkler can solve the problems of farmers in ensuring that the spraying of fertilizers and insecticides is evenly distributed on each paddy plant to obtain better quality of rice.

    Persetaraan Peserta Program Pembelajaran Sepanjang Hayat Menggunakan Formula Full Time Equivalent Students dalam Meningkatkan Enrolmen Pelajar

    Currently, Malaysia has more than 600 higher education institutes that offers hundreds of courses for secondary school leavers. This scenario however, has led to issues such as competition on student’s enrollment. Since its establishment in 2001, aside from full-time program for SPM leavers, Community College has also offers short courses under Lifelong Learning Department. Selandar Community College has been facing an enrollment issues since its operation 15 years ago. Qualitative approach through document analysis which focuses on secondary data is being used in this study. KKSL 2017’s enrollment data and short courses data are being analyze descriptively using Full Time Equivalent Students (FTES) formula. The purpose of this study is to identify how far the equivalent value of the short courses participants helps in increasing the full-time student\u27s enrollment at KKSL. Result of the calculation using the FTES formula shows that the equivalent value obtained is 24 students. Without the equivalent value, the percentage of KKSL student’s enrollment was at 80%, which has not reached targeted KPI being set by JPPKK. However, after adding up the equivalent value, the total percentage has increase to 80.83% which accomplishes the targeted KPI. In conclusion, the implementation of FTES formula to calculate the equivalent value of short courses participants can assist in achieving full-time student’s enrollment at KKSL. The result of this study provide opportunities for KKSL’s management to plan and implement a more systematic short courses in order to help achieve targeted KPI in full-time student\u27s enrollment

    In Malaysia, the New SME Development Framework outlined its vision to create globally competitive SMEs that could boost wealth and contribute to the well-being of the nation by making the ICT as one of the focus areas. Previous studies have shown that SME entrepreneurs have reached a high level of computer skill but are still struggling to navigate the digitalization gap that can significantly increase business profits and productivity. The online presence of most SMEs is still low despite having an internet connection. This study aimed to look at the level of business digitalization among SME MARA’s entrepreneurs in Malacca. The objectives of the study were to look at the level of business digitization in terms of ICT skills, internet accessibility and e-commerce usage in business operations. The sample of study consists of 90 SME MARA’s entrepreneurs in Melaka which is randomly selected. Data were collected by survey through questionnaire form and analyzed using SPSS software. The findings show that SME entrepreneurs in Malacca have high levels of ICT skills and accessibility to the internet. However, the use of e-commerce among them is still at moderate level. The results of this study can provide input to MARA agencies to help MARA SMEs compete competitively globally and open up opportunities for polytechnics to enhance lifelong learning programs

    Management of Forest : The Effect of Global Warming Towards Insect Fauna on Forest Area

    Study of insect fauna on forest area was conducted from July to August 2019 to determine the diversity and abundance of beetle fauna at Burni Geureudong Forest, Takengon, Central Aceh. The study was conducted at two sites namely trail I and trail II. The beetles were sampled using 2 light traps, 2 malaise traps and 20 pitfall traps. Total of 219 beetle specimens comprising of 67 species from 24 families were collected. Light trap collected the most number of beetles (N=117) and Margalef index showed that the most abundant beetle was collected by light trap (Margalef index, 27.551). Shannon-Weiner index shows that the most specious beetle was caught by light traps (4.399). The most abundant family caught was Staphylinidae (Margalef index : 2.667) and specious beetle family caught was the Chrysomelida (Shannon Weiner : 1.846) followed by the ground beetle family Scarabaeidae (Shannon Weiver:1.828). Result of this findings showed that Burni Geureudong Forest is an undisturbed forests and has been preserved well

    Shear Properties of Woven and Chopped Strand Mat Laminated Composite by Arcan Test Method

    The woven and chopped strand mat (CSM) are two types of GFRP (Glass-Fiber Reinforced Polymer) manufacture glass fabrics used in laminated composite. The main purpose when producing GFRP is to produce the materials that can process the best mechanical properties to suit with a certain condition. There are many tests which can be used in order to determine GFRP’s mechanical properties. Arcan Test Method is the most suitable test for determining shear stress in GFRP. Based on the past experiment, the pure shear stresses occur at the significant area was proven and the test result is reliable. Factors that affected the GFRP shear stress are forms and orientation of the fibers. Besides that, volume fractions of fibers, Vf can also affect the shear stress in the materials. The stress will be higher when the load is being applied to the fiber direction and it will be lower at the transverse direction. Furthermore, the shear strength will be increased with the fiber volume fractions increment. Uniform shear strain, γ occur at the significant area where strain at (+45° and -45°) direction is uniform. Therefore, Arcan Test Method can be used to determine the shear stress of different fiber form s and fiber volume factions for GFRP materials

    Channel Pattern Evolution Due To The Non-Migrating Mid-Bar

    Channel evolution is a net outcome of erosion and deposition. It initiates and develops width adjustment and planform evolution. Structures such as bridges, highway, flood control contraptions and building are built within the vicinity of the river will be affected by river meandering and its distance. And at these structures area, mid-bar will be occurred that influence the hydraulic properties. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to determine the pattern of the of the bankline due to the non-migrating mid-bar. The morphology evolution is affected and influences expansion area of mid-bar, low-curvature degree in the channel planform and presence of obstacle This research was carried out on a physical river channel model measuring 10m long, 2.4m wide and 1.8m deep located at Universiti Teknologi MARA Puncak Alam. This paper presents bankline pattern with a different discharge. From the experiment, its shows that morphology of the river will be changed from straight to meander river and its effected to spatial patterns of rate of width change, cross-sectional of the profile and degree of deflection to lateral migration rate

    The Development of Cotton-Wooly Decompression Machine with Custom-made Raking Blade operated by Electrical Motor

    In textile small-medium enterprises and micro companies that run a business of production and supplying mattresses, a synthetic cotton (cotton-woolly) is a better alternative instead of organic cotton in order to reduce the cost. However in certain conditions, the company needs to additionally process the cotton-woollies in order to get the fluffy property, suitable for mattress substance. A case study in NMH Production & Creation verified that the company managed to decompress only 20% of their per-day-capacity of mattress production (2-3 mattresses per-day) by using a modified cow-food crusher machine. A specific decompression machine; Cotton-Woolly Decompression Machine was proposed by Politeknik Kuala Terengganu researchers with custom-made raking blade and operated by 7.5hp electrical motor which estimated to been completely developed within six months. This machine is expected to daily produce 250 to 300 kg of processed cotton-woollies (10-15 mattresses per-day) which exceeds the company per-day requirement. The safety and efficiency of the machine were also been considered by including a closed-body frame to avoid direct contact to the blades and a control panel with labels in the design

    The manufacturing process of beads is a very challenging process as no specialized machines  exist to produce them. The production of beads requires high individual skills as well as modified machines to generate a fire source for the purpose of heating the glass which is the raw material of the bead. The current machine used by Victoria\u27s Enterprise is a modified machine that is used for the purpose of gas welding. However, the machine is often damaged and the spread of heat is uneven. The machine is also too bulky and difficult to divert from one place to another. This innovation is a portable HHO Generator that is capable of generating a concentrated heat needed to solve the problem. HHO Generator that separates water molecules into the gas and has a mixture of oxygen and hydrogen gas to generate flame. The machine comes with a special nozzle designed to produce a consistent and uniform heat with adequate heat flow rate corresponding to the beads manufacturing process. The machine is also portable and can be loaded into small vehicles. This machine will ease the beads manufacturing process and can be widely distributed to villagers in Sarawak to enable them to generate income from handicrafts

    Passengers Satisfaction Towards Service Quality in Malindo Airlines

    The aviation sector has become the predominant segment in the economic development of a nation, and it plays a vital role in transporting people or products from one place to another, either domestically or internationally especially when the distance involved is substantial, and the land journey cannot cover the destination. Presently, most airborne companies concentrate on preserving and refining the quality of their service in such a competitive aviation industry. As the newcomer for Low-Cost Carrier (LCC) in Malaysia, Malindo airline have to face established competitors that have been lobbying in Malaysia earlier. In the past decade, air transportation market has become even more challenging, with many airlines have turned to focus on their service quality to increase passenger satisfaction. Hence, the current research aims to examine the effect of service quality provided by Malindo airline using the SERVQUAL (tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurances and empathy) instrument on passengers\u27 satisfaction. The five aspects of SERVQUAL which are being tested were tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. A total of 300 questionnaires was distributed among Malindo Airline’s passengers using simple random sampling technique in Subang and KLIA Airport. Results indicated that passenger’s satisfaction straightly affected by the tangible, assurance, and empathy offered by Malindo Airline. Generally, Malindo Airline passengers not only exercise their option by choosing the low-priced ticket but also consider the service qualities offered by the airline company. LCC Airline industry player could benefit from this study by focusing on and enhancing their quality of service delivered in order to maintain customer’s trust and satisfaction
