Extraction of Aspect Categories for Sentiment Analysis towards Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Malaysia Using Topic Modelling Approach
This study highlights the neccesity of the analyses on public opinion through more transparent approach in order to observe the public perception towards Technical and Vocational Education And Training (TVET) in Malaysia. Aspect-based sentiment analysis (ABSA) enables the identification the aspect or features that reflect positive and negative sentiments in sentences. However, one of the challenges in ABSA is the extraction of aspect from the dataset. In this study, topic modelling is used to identify the aspect words from tweets related to TVET in Malaysia. One of the topic model that is proven useful in extracting topics from corpus of lesser known domain is Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA). LDA extracted aspects terms were compared with manually labeled aspect terms. The study shows means of accuracy at 0.96 while the means of precision is acceptable at 0.70 respectively after applying LDA in extracting the aspec categories. It is hope that by harvesting opinions from social media will enable the discovery of the most frequent aspects about TVET in Malaysia that often mentioned by the public. This research is hoping to contribute towards the improvisation of Malaysia’s TVET in the future
Kajian Nutrisi antara Aditif Makanan Berasaskan Herba Tempatan Malaysia dan Aditif Makanan yang Mengandungi Kandungan Monosodium Glutamate
Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) used broadly in food industry as a food additive or flavour enhancer. However, there are a lot of negative controversy between Monosodium Glutamate and it side effect to health. Monosodium Glutamate have been linked to several health effect such as Chinese Restaurant Syndrom, obesity, disruptions in adipose tissue physiology, hepatic damage, reproductive malfunction. Research in the use of local herbs to produce food additive sees as helathier alternative for consumers. This research is to compare nutritional value of food additive based on local herbs with two flavour enhancers product in the market which has contain Monosodium Glutamate (Product X and Product Y) Malaysia Standard Nutritional Analaysis result shows that herbs based food additive consist of protein, carbohydrate and calory content which is significant for human needs. Product X and Product Y also consist of protein, carbohydrate and calory content significant to human needs. The difference between carbohydrate content for herbs based food additive and Product X is 0.8 and Product Y is 1.7. There is small range of difference for protein content between herbs based food additive and other two products which is 0.1 (Product X) and 0.2 (Product Y)
Pengalaman Semasa Mengikuti Pengajian di Institusi TVET: Hubungannya Terhadap Kebolehpasaran Graduan Bekerja di Kolej Komuniti Sandakan
TVET educational institutions play an important role at this time to produce skilled and semi-skilled workers to fill vacancies in the industry. For 2019, the marketability rate of TVET graduates is 89.8 percent compared to 86.2 percent for 2018. The increment in marketability among TVET graduates directly helps to improve the national economy. To increase marketability, TVET institutions should provide good educational services to shape the experience of students. Institutional study experience is one of the factors that can affect the marketability of graduates. The four elements that shape experience and relate to marketability are curriculum, career guidance services, teaching staff and infrastructure facilities. Thus, this study aims to identify the relationship of these four elements to marketability for Sandakan Community College graduates who have worked. The questionnaire used in this study is a questionnaire developed by the Ministry of Education Malaysia. The results using pearson correlation analysis from this study showed that all these elements have a weak relationship and there are only a few items that have a significant relationship
Amalan Solat Berjemaah Dalam Membentuk Akhlak Pelajar Politeknik METrO
This study aims to identify the practice of congregational prayer in shaping the morals of students at Politeknik METrO Kuala Lumpur (PMKL). Congregational prayer is a very important practice and observance to shape the morals and values of students. Students of Politeknik METrO Kuala Lumpur, who will be the country’s potential leaders of the future should be instilled with self-esteem and morals and values (akhlak). Therefore, this study is conducted to study the extent to which the practice of congregational prayer shapes the morals and values of Muslim students at PMKL. The respondents of this study consist of 86 Muslim students in Semester Two at PMKL, who were selected for simple sampling using quantitative method and questionnaire. The results of this study show a high mean score value for the practice of congregational prayers of students, the practice of congregational prayers in shaping students’ morals and values, and students\u27 perception of congregational prayers. There is no difference between male and female students in the practice of congregational prayers, and the practice of congregational prayers in shaping student morals and values. However, there are gender differences in students\u27 perceptions of congregational prayer. The practice of congregational prayers for PMKL students is very good and will continue to be given attention by the institution. This study provides useful input to the management of PMKL to emphasize the practice of congregational prayer among PMKL students to produce students who are spiritually and physically balanced with high moral values
Development of a Handheld Mobile Augmented Reality Application ARC-3DM: A Prototype Tool to Determine 3D Modelling Competency
The Augmented Reality Courseware for 3D Modelling or better known as ARC-3DM was a prototype handheld application that utilized the mobile-augmented reality (MAR) technology and marker-based augmented reality (AR) technology integrated with multimedia and 3D elements. The AR system in ARC-3DM can be accessed using buttons by using haptic touchscreen technology. The ARC-3DM was designed and developed based on ADDIE instructions. The greatest contribution of ARC-3DM which utilized the marker-based AR technology was its capability to determine the users’ 3D modelling competency as well as an aid for the task of 3D modelling. The progress of 3D modelling was pre-evaluated in each step of marker to determine the 3D modelling competency based on certain parameter before it can proceed to next marker until completion. With the integration of multimedia and 3D elements, learning experience could be optimized by reducing cognitive load and as well as improving the spatial visualization skill. The digitization of ARC-3DM allows the utilization of data without suffering from the real consequences of human errors. Moreover, the authentication process can be done by entering a password to prevent outsiders from accessing the application. This application has been tested for its functionality by students from Community College undertaking 3D animation course in Malaysia by measuring the significant values of correlation and regression using the straight line formula y = mx + c. However, for future improvement and planning, other parameters or features can be added into ARC-3DM such as an action history that can display the actions done by user such as mistakes so that the user can improve and develop more on the knowledge in order to heighten the skills
Kesediaan Dan Motivasi Pelajar Kolej Komuniti Negeri Perak Untuk Menghadapi Norma Baharu Sewaktu Pandemik Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19): Pembelajaran Secara Atas Talian
This study aims to evaluate the level of readiness and motivation among community college students in implementing online classes based on their programs during Covid-19 pandemic situation. A total of 192 students from semester 1, 2, and 3 from community colleges in Perak state were involved as the research sample. The research design employed in this study is a survey method Quantitative research design is employed in this study through survey method. The data is collected using questionnaire that has been distributed via Google Form application. The researchers adapted and modified the questionnaire by (Osman & Hamzah, 2016) to measure students’ readiness. Meanwhile, students’ motivation is measured through a set of self-built questionnaire which has been verified by the experts. with the questionnaire that was reevaluated by expert. The data is analyzed using IBM Statistical Package for Science Social (SPSS) version 22 software. The descriptive analysis shows the level of students’ readiness and motivation to take part in online classes is at moderate level. The result of one-way ANOVA analysis displays a significant difference between the students’ readiness and motivation to engage in online classes based on their respective programs. Meanwhile, the correlation analysis illustrates that there is a positive and strong relationship between students’ readiness and motivation to get involved in online learning
Kajian Terhadap Penyembur Racun Perosak Dengan Menggunakan Solar Panel Polikristal
Pesticide sprayers are important to protect crops from pests and enhance crop yields. Small farmers rely heavily on the use of pesticide to maintain pest control. Manual pesticide sprayers calibrate at a pump flow rate of 20-30 pumps per minute. Maintaining constant pump pressure is challenging due to the lack of human labour, causing quick exhaustion amongst farmers. Furthermore, an inconsistent spraying pressure adversely effects pest control. Inferior batteries used for manual pesticide sprayers further aggravate the problems. It is estimated that at least 50%-80% of pesticide used by farmers are wasted due to the inadequate methods of spraying. In Malaysia, solar panel pest control is still dominant. Manual pesticide sprayers rely heavily on farmer skills to operate the pesticide sprayers simultaneously while charging the battery. This study aims to identify the effectiveness of pesticide sprayers using solar panel, deriving its energy source from sunlight at a constant pump flow rate throughout. The pesticide sprayer is designed from available materials, using solar energy powered by 12V batteries, a 20W capacity polycrystal solar panel and an electronic circuit to control spraying pressure from 0 to 4 bars. The pesticide sprayer is powered by sun rays received by the panel solar, a DC battery-operated motor and a pump to spray the pesticide (in a liquid form) relying on farmer manual labour. Results show that the spraying period takes up more than 5 hours daily at a constant pressure, compared to manual pesticide sprayers which rely only on battery power, of between 1 to 3 hours daily, without a stable flow rate of 2.70 l/minute. With technological advancement, solar panel and solar energy-based pesticide sprayers are more practical and economical in the agricultural sector. The amount of pesticide sprayers used can also be controlled to accommodate plant age and its state of growth. 
Implementasi aktiviti mock interview sebagai kaedah berkesan meningkatkan kemahiran kebolehkerjaan dan persediaan kerjaya pelajar
This study aims to identify the level of achievement for the implementation of mock interview activities as a method to improve employability skills and career preparation of students at Tawau Community College. Mock interview is one of the researcher\u27s initiatives as a lecturer in subject of MPU 1231 Kemahiran Insaniah. A total of 110 students who took the MPU 1231 Kemahiran Insnaiah course became the respondents of the study. The implementation of mock interview plays an important role as an indicator to further improve student’s employability skills in the preparation and development of their careers after graduation. This research instrument is a set of questionnaires that has 10 items. The reliability of the research instrument was tested in a previous pilot study by showing a high reliability value of α = 0.90. Furthermore, the data obtained were analyzed using SPSS software (Statistical Package for Social Science, Version 24.0) to obtain descriptive and inferential analysis. The findings of the study show that the overall mean of the implementation of the implementation of the interview simulation is high, namely the mean score value of 4.24. However, through t-test analysis, it was found that there was no difference in the level of achievement of the implementation of interview simulation with gender among students. Mock interview activities as a lecturer strategy to improve students\u27 employability skills is an important criterion to enable them to gain a place in the job market in the future. Thus, through this study it can be seen that students have self-awareness in career readiness. Meanwhile, the top management and academics of Tawau Community College also play an important role in fostering student career development
Kesan Penggunaan Serbuk Karagenan dan Serbuk Rumpai Laut Ke Atas Ciri-Ciri Fizikokimia Minuman Jus Jambu Batu Merah
This study was conducted to investigate the effect of carrageenan powder and seaweed powder on physicochemical characteristics of pink guava juice drink for improving the quality of the juice. Physicochemical characteristics for mixture of juice added with carrageenan powder and seaweed powder was determined in terms of pH, total soluble solid (oBrix), ascorbic acid content, viscosity and color. Content of carrageenan powder and seaweed powder added in pink guava juice drink was 0.10%, 0.15% and 0.20%. Samples were stored at 4°C for 14 days and all analysis done on the day of sample preparation (day 0), day 2, day 4, day 8 and day 14. Results showed significant differences (p <0.05) on viscosity and ascorbic acid content for all samples and storage time. However, results for pH, total soluble solids, and color (L*, a* and b*) did not show significant differences between the sample and the time of storage. Only control samples showed a significant difference (p <0.05) of the stimulus L* during day 8. The addition of seaweed powder in the range of 0.10% to 0.20% can increase the viscosity and ascorbic acid content in the sample, however the use of carrageenan powder cause viscosity increase in sample. The additional of seaweed powder and carrageenan in juice give a very similar result to the analysis of pH, total soluble solids, and color. 
Stacking Sequence Optimization of Sugarcane Bagasse/Glass Laminate Composite Cured with Vacuum Infusion
The rising concern on environmental issues have led to an increased interest in composite field to look for new alternatives replacement of synthetic fiber or at least reduce their volume by filled with natural fibers. Despite of their advantages, poor compatibility between fiber and matrix and the relative high moisture absorption of natural fiber are main issue to be resolved before applying on real structural applications. Therefore, present work are aim focusing to study the optimization properties of hybrid bagasse/glass laminate for three different stacking sequence configuration of [450C/450C/600W/B/600W/450C/450C], [600W/450C/450C/B/450C/450C/600W] and [450C/600C/450C/B/450C/600C/450C].
Short bagasse fiber are prepared and was chemical treated with 4% sodium hydroxide (NaOH) concentration to reduce lignin before dried to form bagasse mat. All laminates with three different stacking sequence then are fabricated using vacuum infusion process and are tested to determine their mechanical and water absorption properties. In addition, the flowbility and formability of hybrid bagasse/glass composite are also observed. Results show hybrid bagasse composite laminate with stacking sequence of [450C/450C/600W/B/600W/450C/450C] gave highest tensile strength values of 13.51 kN. In contrast, laminate with stacking sequence of [600W/450C/450C/B/450C/450C/600W] show highest impact toughness value of 108.5 J. Furthermore, hybrid laminate with stacking sequence of W600/450/450/B/450/450/W600 also show highest water absorption resistance with only 0.53% water intake value for 14 days tested period. This low value moisture resistance percentage give fact hybrid composite bagasse/glass laminate are comparable to those conventional fiberglass composite and able to extend to application to marine structural application
