P2P Botnet or ‘Peer to Peer’ Botnet is known as one of the most dangerous threats to computer network technology. Previously, several detection techniques have been proposed to detect its presence. One of the techniques focused is on feature sets as a detection mechanism. However, previous studies highlighted feature detection for this Botnet family found that there is a lack of research on the threshold value feature as botnet detection. Research so far tends to focus on detection features rather than analysis on the feature itself. In this study, identifying threshold values for P2P Botnet detection is based on seven bot samples and 52 features taken from the observed network traffic. suggests methodologies consisting of feature selection modules, logistics regression modules and threshold value identification. The approach successfully identifies a set of features to detect P2P Botnets. The traffic observation test shows that P2P Botnet detection is based on the pushed_data_pkts_b2a and pure_act_pkts_a2b features where the threshold cutting value for both is at 80% detection rate which contributes to the detection of botnet P2P botnet detection at a higher rate

    Get PDF
This paper discusses the effect of air gap on Switched Reluctance Linear Motor (SRLM). Linear motors with permanent magnet are among the best option for applications requiring high acceleration, high speed and high precision. However, permanent magnet usage such as Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB) has led to an increment of material cost due to the fluctuating price of rare earth material problems. The alternative solution is by using an electromagnet. To overcome the issue of SRLM on low thrust, the optimization of some important parameters will influence the inductance and magnetic flux. The thrust needs to be maintained for use in high precision applications. The study covered the air gap length, δ parameter which is 0.1mm,0.2mm and 0.3mm. In this design, Solidwork software is used to modeling the SRLM. The static characteristics of the SRLM are calculated using a finite element method analysis (FEM) and the performance of every model has been compared. The SRLM model with optimal performance according to the parameter configurations is when the air gap length is 0.1 mm,3 mm teeth pitch and 0.4 teeth ratio, where the thrust reaches 48 N. In conclusions, the thrust increase when the air gap decrease. Finally, the analysis presents in this paper can be used to determine the best SRLM structure based on the desired thrust with appropriate combination size of the parameter that has been exposed as a guideline to other researchers. It is recommended to study the functionality of the dynamic characteristics of SRLM by developed the motor drive system to enhance the performance of SRLM motor

    Get PDF
The concrete industry is the largest user of natural resources in the world. Concrete is a globally accepted construction material in all types of civil engineering structures. Sand is a vital ingredient of concrete as a fine aggregate. Natural sand is a prime material used for the preparation of concrete and also plays an important role in mix design. The reduction in the sources of natural sand and the requirement for reduction in the cost of concrete production is one of the environmental issues to the scarcity of river sand. Research is being carried out on the utilization of waste products in concrete as a replacement for natural sand. Floral foam can produce alternative sand for structural concrete as a partial or total replacement. It has contributed a lot to our country\u27s economy in the florist industry. If it is not treated properly, it may become toxic waste in landfills. However, floral foam is high in porosity and low in density. In this paper, an attempt is made to utilize floral foam as a sand replacement for designing the floral foamed concrete with Grade M30. The ingredients of these floral foamed concrete are floral foam, sand, aggregates, cement, and water. In this study, 48 types of cube samples with different percentages of ingredients were prepared. Crushed floral foam was used as a partial replacement for sand at 20%, 40%, and 60% of concrete mixes. The fresh and hardened properties of new concrete are studied and compared with concrete made using conventional materials. Compressive strength tests and water absorption tests were carried out by using a compressive machine and some calculations regarding water absorption. The data and results were tabulated in the table and analyzed by using graphs. As a result, 40% replacement of crushed floral foam has given a better effect on the concrete bond between cement and floral foam particles. However the samples content 60 % of crushed floral foam has better performance in term of water absorption
