Το παρόν θεματικό αϕιέρωμα διερευνά τις πρακτικές της Κοινωνικής (και) Αλληλέγγυας Οικονομίας (εϕεξής ΚΑΛΟ) ως πεδίο κοινωνικοοικονομικού μετασχηματισμού μέσα από την ενίσχυση του κοινωνικού ανταγωνισμού. Αξιοποιώντας κρίσιμες συμβολές από τη Θεωρία Κοινωνικής Αναπαραγωγής (ΘΚΑ), τη Θεωρία Ποικίλων Οικονομιών (ΘΠΟ), των Θεωριών Κοινωνικών Κινημάτων (ΘΚΚ) και ειδικότερα της Δομής Πολιτικών Ευκαιριών και Πλαισιακών Προσεγγίσεων [Framing Analysis] οι συγγραϕείς συμβάλλουν στην εμβάθυνση των πρακτικών της ΚΑΛΟ εντός των κοινωνικών και πολιτικών επιστημών
Mentoring relationship and prospective teachers' psycho-emotional development during Teaching Practice
Στο άρθρο διερευνάται η ποιότητα των μεντορικών σχέσεων μεταξύ υποψήφιων εκπαιδευτικών και Μεντόρων, όπως αυτές αναπτύχθηκαν μέσω Μεντορικής Καθοδήγησης (mentoring) κατά το διάστημα εφαρμογής ενός ετήσιου προγράμματος Πρακτικής Άσκησης σε πραγματικό περιβάλλον σχολείου, και η επίδραση αυτών των μεντορικών σχέσεων στο πεδίο της ψυχοσυναισθηματικής βελτίωσης των υποψήφιων εκπαιδευτικών. Διενεργήθηκε ποιοτική έρευνα μελέτης περίπτωσης κατά το διάστημα από τον Οκτώβριο του 2021 μέχρι τον Μάιο του 2022, σε δύο χρονικές φάσεις (Οκτώβριος-Ιανουάριος, Μάρτιος-Μάιος). Στην έρευνα συμμετείχαν 77 υποψήφιοι/ες εκπαιδευτικοί, φοιτητές/τριες στο Τμήμα Θεολογίας του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών. Ερευνήθηκαν οι αντιλήψεις των υποψήφιων εκπαιδευτικών για τη μορφή της μεντορικής σχέσης που αναπτύσσεται στα μεντορικά ζεύγη στο πλαίσιο της Πρακτικής Άσκησης, τα αποτελέσματα από την εκπαίδευση των φοιτητών/τριών στο πεδίο της ψυχοσυναισθηματικής τους βελτίωσης και της καλλιέργειας της διδακτικής τους αυτοαποτελεσματικότητας, όπως επίσης και η επίδραση της μεντορικής σχέσης στην ανάδειξη των συγκεκριμένων αποτελεσμάτων. Και στις δύο φάσεις της έρευνας έγινε ταυτόχρονη χρήση ποιοτικών (τεχνική της «Πιο Σημαντικής Αλλαγής», ομάδες εστίασης) αλλά και ποσοτικών ερευνητικών εργαλείων (ερωτηματολόγιο αξιολόγησης της ποιότητας της μεντορικής σχέσης, ερωτηματολόγιο μέτρησης της διδακτικής αυτοαποτελεσματικότητας), έτσι ώστε να διερευνηθούν τριγωνικά τα υπό εξέταση ερωτήματα. Εφαρμόστηκε ανάλυση περιεχομένου και θεματική ανάλυση, όσον αφορά στα δεδομένα που αντλήθηκαν από τα ποιοτικά ερευνητικά εργαλεία, και αξιοποίηση περιγραφικής και επαγωγικής στατιστικής ανάλυσης (SPSS) για τα ποσοτικά δεδομένα των ερωτηματολογίων. Τα αποτελέσματα έδειξαν ότι κατά τη διάρκεια της Πρακτικής Άσκησης που εφαρμόζεται μέσω Μεντορικής Καθοδήγησης σημειώνεται εμφανής βελτίωση στην ψυχοσυναισθηματική κατάσταση και τη διδακτική αυτοαποτελεσματικότητα των υποψήφιων εκπαιδευτικών. Σε αυτό συντελεί η μορφή της μεντορικής σχέσης και συγκεκριμένα η επικοινωνία και η εμπιστοσύνη που αναπτύσσονται μέσα στα μεντορικά ζευγάρια. Τα παραπάνω έχουν ιδιαίτερη επιστημονική βαρύτητα σε συμφωνία με τη διεθνή βιβλιογραφία και μπορούν να αξιοποιηθούν στο επίπεδο του σχεδιασμού και της εφαρμογής παρόμοιων προγραμμάτων Πρακτικής Άσκησης νέων ή υποψήφιων εκπαιδευτικών μέσω Μεντορικής Καθοδήγησης. The article investigates the quality of mentoring relationships between prospective teachers and mentor teachers, as developed through Mentoring during the implementation of an annual teaching practice program in a real school environment, and the impact of these mentoring relationships on the psycho-emotional improvement of prospective teachers. Qualitative case study research was conducted between October 2021 and May 2022, in two-time phases (October-January, March-May). 77 prospective teachers, students from the Department of Theology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens participated in the survey. The perceptions of the prospective teachers about the form of the mentoring relationship that develops in the mentoring pairs in the context of the teaching practice program, the results of the students' training in the field of their psycho-emotional improvement and the cultivation of their teaching self-efficacy, as well as the influence of the mentoring relationship on the emergence of these results were investigated. In both phases of the research, both qualitative (Most Significant Change technique, focus groups) and quantitative research tools (questionnaire to assess the quality of the mentoring relationship, questionnaire to measure teaching self-efficacy) were used simultaneously, so that the questions under consideration were explored triangularly. Content analysis and thematic analysis were applied to the data extracted from the qualitative research tools, and descriptive and inferential statistical analysis (SPSS) was used for the quantitative data of the questionnaires. The results showed that during the Practicum implemented through Mentoring there is a marked improvement in the psycho-emotional state and teaching self-efficacy of the teacher candidates. The form of the mentoring relationship contributes to this, in particular the communication and trust that develops within mentoring pairs. These findings have particular scientific weight in line with the international literature and can be used in the design and implementation of similar teaching practice programs for new or prospective teachers through Mentoring
Τhe implementation of an interactive educational intervention program using the Kinems learning games platform to improve gross motor skills in children with ASD
Introduction: Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a developmental disorder that simultaneously affects several areas of development such as communication, cognition, socialization, and movement, causing at the same time stereotyped behavior to occur. Purpose of the study: The purpose of this study was to investigate the use of interactive educational games as part of an educational program to enhance gross motor development of primary school students with ASD. Method: In this two-phases study, a case-control design was applied using a 3-month interactive educational platform based intervention with 15 children with ASD, while a similar control group of 16 children with ASD followed their schools’ typical teaching methods. The mean age of the children was 9.2 ± 1.4 years old and the groups were adjusted for gender, age, body type and dominant foot or leg. During the first phase of the study, and before the beginning of the intervention, children’s gross mobility was measured using the latest version of the Test of Gross Motor Development TGMD (version 3.0.). Then, the intervention was conducted using a selected list of games from the interactive educational platform named Kinems. During the second phase of the study, children’s gross mobility was measured again, using the Test of Gross Motor Development-3. Results: The gross mobility scales, the TGMD-3 scores, showed significant differences in children in the intervention group compared to the children in the control group, specifically regarding two of the TGMD-3 skills, namely ‘gallop’ and ‘2-hand catch’ scores. In most of the thirteen activities studied, children in the intervention group showed higher mean differences compared to the children in the control group. %Mean Success score was corelated with equivalent ages based on Locomotor skills. Implications & conclusions: The findings suggest that the interactive educational intervention program applied with primary school children with ASD, had a positive effect in their gross motor skills
The wall-paintings of the church of Saint Nicholas at Vatos, Agios Vasileios province, Rethymnon. Contribution to the study of artistic workshops in venetian Crete
Οι τοιχογραφίες του ναού του Αγίου Νικολάου στον Βάτο Ρεθύμνου Κρήτης είναι έργο δύο ζωγράφων που υιοθετούν διακριτά ιδιώματα. Ο ένας εξ αυτών φαίνεται ότι υπήρξε μέλος ενός συνεργείου που εργάστηκε σε μια σειρά μνημείων στην ευρύτερη περιοχή του Ρεθύμνου και των Χανίων. Η λεπτομερής εξέταση της ζωγραφικής μάς βοηθά να διατυπώσουμε υποθέσεις για τον τρόπο εργασίας των ζωγράφων και διαφωτίζει την –εν πολλοίς άγνωστη– τοπική καλλιτεχνική παραγωγή του τρίτου τετάρτου του 14ου αιώναThe wall-paintings at the church of Saint Nicholas at Vatos, Rethymno, Crete, are attributed to the collaboration of two painters that follow distinct artistic traditions. One of them seems to be member of a workshop that executed a series of wall-paintings in the regions of Rethymno and Chania. The meticulous examination of the paintings leads to assumptions on the working methods of the painters and enlightens the (mostly unknown) local artistic production of the third quarter of the 14th century
A relief with Crossing of the Red Sea and its use
Τὸ ἀνάγλυφο στὸ Μουσεῖο Yozgat (Καππαδοκία) εἰκονίζει τὴν διάβαση τῆς Ἐρυθρᾶς Θάλασσας. Τὸ παλαιοδιαθηκικὸ αὐτὸ γεγονὸς ἑρμηνεύεται ἀπὸ τὸν ἀπόστολο Παῦλο καὶ τοὺς Πατέρες ὡς προτύπωση τοῦ χριστιανικοῦ βαπτίσματος. Κυριαρχεῖ ἡ παρουσία του στὴν πασχαλινὴ ὑμνογραφία. Εἶναι ἐπίσης ἕνα ἀπὸ τὰ 15 βιβλικὰ ἀναγνώσματα τοῦ ἑσπερινοῦ τοῦ Μεγάλου Σαββάτου, στὴν διάρκεια τοῦ ὁποίου γίνονταν οἱ βαπτίσεις, καθὼς τὸ Πάσχα θεωρεῖται ὡς ἡ κατεξοχὴν ἡμέρα βαπτίσματος. Τὰ πατερικὰ κείμενα καὶ ἡ λειτουργικὴ πρέπει νὰ ἔχουν ἀσκήσει ἐπίδραση στὸ εἰκονογραφικὸ πρόγραμμα τοῦ χώρου ποὺ γίνονταν οἱ κατηχήσεις καὶ οἱ βαπτίσεις. Οἱ διαστάσεις τοῦ γλυπτοῦ ἐπιτρέπουν νὰ ὑποστηρίξουμε ὅτι θὰ χρησίμευε ὡς ἐπιστύλιο θύρας βαπτιστηρίου ἢ νάρθηκα, ὅπου λάμβαναν χώρα οἱ κατηχήσεις καὶ οἱ βαπτίσεις.A relief at the Museum of Yozgat (Cappadocia) is decorated with the Crossing from Israelites of the Red Sea (Book of Exodus, 14-15). The apostle Paul and the church Fathers (initiation texts) interpreted this episode as prefiguration (type) of baptism into Christ. The event is mentioned frequently in paschal hymnography and the biblical reading of Exodus is one of the 15 Old Testament prophetic lessons, which have been read in the paschal vigil. The feast of Easter was the most appropriate day for the celebration of baptism. The above evidence shows that the patristic literature and the liturgy were influential to the iconographic program. Thus, the relief may had been used as lintel in a baptistery or a narthex, where the initiation (catecheses) and the baptism did take place

Demographic parameters of Caspian trout (Salmo caspius) in the southwest Caspian Sea
Salmo trutta caspius is one of the migratory (anadromous) and endemic fish species of the Caspian Sea which exists in the rivers and has a great economic and commercial importance to the region. This species lives in the salty and brackish water and returns to freshwater to spawn. In this study, demographic parameters of Salmo trutta caspius are investigated. A total of 104 samples were collected from Anzali to Shafarud in the southwest part of the Caspian Sea in the fall of 2018, using commercial gill-nets. The total length, total weight and gender of specimens were determined: in terms of sex ratio; the female population was 1.88 times more than the male population. The mean length for males was 67.7±7.8 cm and for females it was 65.6±6.8 cm. The mean weight for males and females was 3.0±0.1 kg and 2.8±0.81 kg, respectively. The correlation coefficient for length-weight relationship was 0.95. The growth rate (K) and asymptotic length (Lꝏ) for both genders were calculated to be 0.37 and 69 cm, respectively. Estimates for natural mortality (M), fishing mortality (F), total mortality (Z), and the exploitation coefficient were 0.3, 1.34, 1.64, and 0.81, respectively. This study showed that the population of this species is young in the southwest Caspian region. With regards to the mortality rate and negative algometric growth, it could be concluded that overfishing of older individuals has caused a reduction in the size of its population
A study to investigate the anti-methanogenic properties of black tea waste in dairy cows in order to achieve a cleaner environment
In this study, the authors substituted alfalfa hay with factory black tea waste (FBTW) in dairy cattle total mixed ration (TMR) and subsequently tested its effects on in-vitro carbon dioxide and methane production, metabolizable energy (ME), organic matter digestibility (OMD), net energy lactation (NEL), microbial protein production (MP) and Daisy incubator digestibility parame-ters. Experimental diets included 0% (TW0), 25% (TW1), 50% (TW2) and 75% (TW3) FBTW sub-stituted alfalfa hay in dairy cattle TMR rations. Substitution of alfalfa hay with FBTW in TMR linearly decreased in-vitro GP, methane, ME, NEL and OMD values (P<0.05), and linearly in-creased true dry matter digestibility (TDMD), partition factor (PF) and microbial protein pro-duction efficiency (MPSE) values (p<0.05). Organic matter (IVOMD), in-vitro true dry matter (IVTDMD), and NDF digestibility (IVNDFD) values, determined in the Daisy II incubator, were decreased by substituting FBTW for alfalfa hay in TMR (p<0.05). Substitution of alfalfa hay by FBTW up to 50% in TMR as an alternative roughage source in ruminant animal nutrition can be beneficial yet in-vivo studies are required for a solid conclusion
Fasciolicidal efficacy comparison between Amaro (Chuquiraga weberbaueri) and triclabendazole in calves experimentally infected with Fasciola hepatica metacercaria
The Cajamarca Valley is an endemic area for Fasciola hepatica in cattle. Despite demonstrated resistance to triclabendazole, the use of this anthelmintic remains prevalent. Therefore, constant efficacy evaluations of this active ingredient are necessary, along with the exploration of alternatives for parasite control. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of Amaro (Chuquiraga weberbaueri) and triclabendazole in controlling F. hepatica in artificially infected calves. Three groups (T0, T1, and T2) of four weaned Holstein calves each were formed and infected with 200 metacercariae. The control group (T0) received no antiparasitic treatment, group T1 was dosed with lyophilized aqueous extract of C. weberbaueri (200 mg/kg, orally, for four consecutive days), and group T2 received a single dose of triclabendazole (12 mg/kg, orally). Clinical efficacy was assessed using the Egg Count Reduction Test, and absolute efficacy was determined through necropsy. The average clinical efficacy and absolute efficacy of C. weberbaueri were 46.70% (95% CI: 33.27 – 60.13) and 58.63% (95% CI: 45.24 – 72.02), respectively. In contrast, triclabendazole demonstrated a clinical efficacy of 25.00% (95% CI: 12.62 – 37.38) and an absolute efficacy of 66.22% (95% CI: 66.22 – 79.08). Both treatments proved insufficiently active against Fasciola hepatica in calves, falling short of the category of effective fasciolicides. Nevertheless, using C. weberbaueri could be considered an environmentally friendly option to reduce the parasite burden in cattle
Using yeast-based probiotic as dietary supplement during transition period to improve performance of dairy cows
A study was conducted to investigate the effect of dietary probiotic supplementation on dairy cow dry matter intake (DMI), milk production, milk composition and somatic cell count (SCC), rumen pH, and serum parameters (glucose, urea, alanine aminotransferase; ALT and aspartate aminotransferase; AST) during transition. Totally 24 multiparous dairy cows were randomly assigned to 3 groups (eight cows/group) fed the same diets supplemented without probiotics (Control group) and with probiotics at the rate of 15 or 30 g live yeast culture/cow daily (Treated groups) for 5 weeks (transition period; from 2 weeks’ pre-partum to 3 weeks post-partum). DMI and milk yield were recorded daily and the milk composition, SCC, rumen pH, and serum parameters were measured every week. A higher DMI and greater average daily milk yield were found in Saccharomyces cerevisiae treated groups as compared to the control groups (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in rumen pH between the control and 15g yeast-supplemented groups, but the higher dose of yeast increased (P<0.05) rumen pH. In probiotic-fed cows, milk fat was increased (P<0.05) and somatic cell count decreased (P<0.05), while milk protein and SNF were unchanged. When yeast was included in the diet, the serum concentration of glucose and urea in cows increased (P<0.05) compared with those of control. However, the other two serum parameters remained consistent across groups. It was concluded that the inclusion of yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae into the diet of dairy cows during the transition period improved performance regarding enhanced milk yield and enhanced milk quality. Data showed the identical (P>0.05) effect of both yeast levels on dairy cows' performance, which suggests the use of a lower level (15 g) in practice
