Optimization of Bioactive Components in Fresh Red Watermelon Juice of Ultrasound Assisted Extraction Conditions With Response Surface Methodology
In this study, optimization of bioactive components in fresh red watermelon juice which was applied ultrasound for different amplitude and time with response surface methodology (RSM) was performed. As a result of the optimization, lycopene, ascorbic acid, total phenolic content and DPPH were determined as 28.74 mg/100 mL, 4.34 mg/100 mL, 122.2 mg GAE/L and 54.26%, respectively. When compared to the fresh red watermelon juice samples applied ultrasound with control samples, it was found that lycopene, total phenolic content and DPPH values increase and ascorbic acid content decreased.Bu çalışmada, farklı genlik ve sürelerde ultrases uygulanmış kırmızı karpuz suyundaki biyoaktif bileşiklerin tepki yüzeyi metodolojisi (TYM) kullanılarak optimizasyonu gerçekleştirilmiştir. Optimizasyon sonucunda ultrases uygulanmış örneklerin likopen, askorbik asit, toplam fenolik madde ve DPPH değerleri sırası ile 28.74 mg/100 mL, 4.34 mg/100 mL, 122.2 mg GAE/ L ve %54.26 olarak tespit edilmiştir. Kontrol örneği ile kıyaslandığında ultrases uygulanmış kırmızı karpuz suyu örneklerinin likopen, toplam fenolik madde ve DPPH değerlerinde artış görülürken, askorbik asit içeriğinde azalma meydana gelmiştir
İmplant Destekli Mandibular Overdenture Protezlerin Yaşam Kalitesine Olan Etkisinin Değerlendirilmesi: Pilot Çalışma
Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, mandibular iki implant destekli protezlerin bir grup hastanın yaşam kalitesine etkisini incelemekti. Araçlar ve Yöntem: Bu pilot çalışma, 2016 ve 2020 yılları arasında Adıyaman Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi'nde implant destekli mandibular overdenture protez isteyen tam dişsiz altmış üç katılımcı (51-83 yaşlarında) ile gerçekleştirildi. Mandibular interforaminal bölgesine iki dental implant yerleştirdikten 6 hafta sonra her hastaya mandibular implant destekli overdenture protezler ile maksiller konvansiyonel tam protezler uygulandı. Hastaların protetik tedavi öncesi ve sonrası yaşam kalitesinin değerlendirilmesi için ağız sağlığı etki profilinin (OHIP-14) Türkçe versiyonu kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Tedavi öncesi puanlarla karşılaştırıldığında, katılımcılar yeni protezlerini aldıktan sonra yaşam kalitesinde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı iyileşme kaydedildi (p0.05). Sonuç: Bu çalışmanın sonuçlarına dayanarak, mandibular iki implant destekli overdenture protezlerin tam dişsiz hastalarının yaşam kalitesini iyileştirdiği sonucuna varılabilir
Ülseratif kolitli hastalarda C-reaktif protein/albumin oranının endoskopik ve mukozal aktivite ile ilişkisi
Amaç: Bu çalışmada, ülseratif kolitli hastalarda C-reaktif protein/albumin oranının endoskopik ve mukozal aktivite ile ilişkisinin retrospektif olarak değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Araştırmada İnönü Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Gastroenteroloji Bilim Dalı Gastroenteroloji ve İnflamatuar Bağırsak Hastalıkları polikliniklerine 2019-2021 yılları arasında başvurmuş, 18 yaş üstü, patolojik olarak ülseratif kolit tanısı almış, laboratuvar tetkiklerinde ve hasta dosyalarında yeterli veri elde edilen, 74 hasta incelenmiştir. Çalışmada hastaların yaş, cinsiyet gibi demografik özellikleri, Rachmilewitz endoskopik aktivite indeksi, histopatolojik aktivitesi tespit edilmiştir. Hastaların laboratuar sonuçlarında CRP, albumin, hemoglobin, lökosit, nötrofil, monosit, lenfosit, trombosit ve sedimentasyon değerleri incelenmiştir. Bulgular ve Sonuç: Hastalar histolojik aktivite açısından değerlendirildiğinde aktif koliti olanların CRP (p<0,001), CRP/albumin (p<0,001), lökosit (p=0,004), nötrofil (p=0,003), monosit (p=0,009), trombosit (p<0,001) ve sedimantasyon (p=0,001) değerlerinin histolojik olarak aktif koliti olmayanların değerlerinden anlamlı şekilde yüksek, albumin (p<0,001) ve hemoglobin (p=0,031) değerlerinin ise anlamlı şekilde düşük olduğu görülmüştür. Endoskopik olarak aktif olanların (EAI?4) CRP (p<0,001), CRP/albumin (p<0,001), lökosit (p=0,001), nötrofil (p=0,001), monosit (p=0,024), trombosit (p=0,002) ve sedimantasyon (p=0,001) değerleri endoskopik olarak remisyonda olanların (EAI<4) değerlerinden anlamlı şekilde yüksek ve albumin (p=0,001) değeri ise anlamlı şekilde düşük olduğu görülmüştür. Endoskopik aktivite ve histolojik aktivite ile CRP/albumin oranı arasında pozitif yönde anlamlı bir korelasyon olduğu görülmüştür (p<0,001). Aktif kolit varlığı durumuna göre CRP/albumin değeri üzerinden yapılan ROC analizine göre kesme noktası 0,08 olarak bulunmuştur. Bu kesme noktadaki duyarlılık %75, özgüllük ise %96,67 olarak bulunmuştur. Pozitif prediktif değer %97,06 olarak, negatif prediktif değer ise %72,46 olarak bulunmuştur. Material and Methods: In the study, 74 patients over the age of 18, who applied to the Gastroenterology and Inflammatory Bowel Diseases polyclinics of Inonu University Faculty of Medicine Gastroenterology Department between 2019-2021, who were diagnosed with ulcerative colitis pathologically, and who had sufficient data in laboratory tests and patient files, were examined. In the study, demographic characteristics such as age and gender, Rachmilewitz endoscopic activity index, and histopathological activity were determined. In the laboratory results of the patients, CRP, albumin, hemoglobin, leukocytes, neutrophils, monocytes, lymphocytes, thrombocyte and sedimentation values were examined. Results and Conclusion: When the patients were evaluated in terms of histological activity, those with active colitis had CRP (p<0,001), CRP/albumin (p<0,001), leukocytes (p=0,004), neutrophils (p=0,003), monocytes (p=0,009), thrombocyte (p<0,001) and sedimentation (p=0.001) values were found to be significantly higher than those without histologically active colitis, while albumin (p<0,001) and hemoglobin (p=0,031) values were found to be significantly lower. Those with endoscopically active colitis (EAI?4) CRP (p<0,001), CRP/albumin (p<0,001), leukocytes (p=0,001), neutrophils (p=0,001), monocytes (p=0,024), platelets (p=0,002) and sedimentation (p=0,001) values were found to be significantly higher than those in remission endoscopically (EAI<4), and albumin (p=0,001) values were found to be significantly lower. It was observed that there was a positive and significant correlation between endoscopic activity and histological activity and the CRP/albumin ratio. The cut-off point was found to be 0,08 according to the ROC analysis performed on the CRP/albumin value according to the presence of active colitis. The sensitivity at this cut-off point was 75%, and the specificity was 96,67%. The positive predictive value was 97,06%, and the negative predictive value was 72,46%. Terörizm İle Mücadele Kapsamında Türkiye, İngiltere Ve İspanya’nın Karşılaştırılması
Terörizmle mücadelede Türkiye, İngiltere ve İspanya’nın ağırlıklı olarak askeriye ve polisiye tedbirler uyguladıkları görülmektedir. Ancak güvenlik tedbirleri yanında terörizmle mücadeleyi çok yönlü olarak ele alan İngiltere ve İspanya terörizmle mücadelede daha başarılı olmuştur. Militarist bir bakış açısıyla 2000’lere kadar terörizmle mücadeleyi terörist ile mücadele olarak sürdüren Türkiye, 21. yüzyıla girerken ulusal sınırları aşarak güç kazanan terörizmin, sadece bir iç politika meselesi olmadığını anl amıştır. Ayrıca, uluslararası gelişmelerin de etkisi ile terör örgütlerinin faklı taktikler benimseyerek değişime girmesi sonucu, terörizmle mücadelenin çok boyutlu olması gerektiği kabul görmüştür. Bu nedenle terörizmle mücadelede sadece askeri tedbirlerve taktikler değil fikirsel taktikler de önem kazanmaya başlamıştır. Çalışmanın amacı, terörizmle mücadelede Türkiye, İspanya ve İngiltere’nin terörizme nasıl cevap verdiklerini ortaya koymaya çalışmaktır. Bu doğrultuda, öncelikli olarak terörizmve terörizmintarihsel süreci elealınmıştır. Terörizmle mücadelede kullanılacak yöntemler ve terör örgütlerinin büyüme stratejilerine yönelik alınması geren önlemlere dair tespitler, terörizme mücadele başlığı altında ele alınmıştır. Mukayeseli bir çalışma ortaya koymak adına devlet güçlerinin terörizmle mücadele yöntemleri güvenlik birimleri aracılığıyla, hukuki yollarla ve müzakere yoluyla olmak üzere üç başlık altında karşılaştırmalı olarak incelenmiştir. Çalışma, açıklamacı ve analitik teknikler ile nitel araştırma yöntemine dayanmaktadır. Çalışmaya dair değerlendirmeler, basılı metinler, bu tarihe kadar geçen süreçte gerçekleşen gelişmeler, bu gelişmelere ilişkin açık kaynak verileri, haber ve internet kaynaklarından faydalanılarak yapılmıştır
Water-sensitive urban design approaches in the context of adaptation to climate change: Malatya urban vision
İklim değişikliği, kentsel alanlarda yapılaşmanın yanı sıra geçirimsiz yüzeylerin artışı ile birlikte kentsel su varlığını olumsuz etkileyen bazı çevresel sorunların fark edilmesine neden olmaktadır. Bu farkındalık kent plancıları, peyzaj mimarları gibi meslek disiplinlerini kentlerde yaşam kalitesini olumsuz etkileyen bu durumlara karşı çözüm arayışlarına yönlendirmektedir. Özellikle iklim değişikliği sürecinde en önemli risklerden biri olan su kıtlığı kentlerde su yönetiminin önemini ortaya koymakta ve iklim değişikliği adaptasyonu için kilit bir mekanizma olarak kabul edilmektedir. Bu kapsamda iklim değişiklğine uyum stratejilerinde su yönetimi, Sürdürülebilir Kalkınma Amaçları gibi uluslarası politikalardan, Türkiye'nin İklim Değişikliği Uyum Stratejisi ve Eylem Planı gibi ulusal eylemlerden, planlama ve tasarıma kadar farklı ölçeklerde temel ilkelerden biri haline gelmiştir. Kentler su yönetim vizyonlarını belirtilen uluslararası ve ulusal stratejiler doğrultusunda geliştirmektedirler. Malatya kenti son on yılda hızlı bir şekilde kentleşmiştir. Kentleşme ile birlikte kent içerisindeki yeşil alanlar ve geçirimli yüzeyler büyük ölçüde kaybedilmiştir. Dolayısıyla kent ve kent çevresindeki su kaynaklarının yönetiminde sorunlar oluşmaktadır. Bu sorunlar iklim değişikliğinin etkisi ile birlikte, değişen yağış rejimleri, süresi ve sıklığı artan sıcaklıklar ve azalan su yüzeyleri sebebiyle daha da derinleşmektedir. Belirtilen sorunlara çözüm geliştirilmemesi durumunda gelecekte su kıtlığı kritik seviyeye ulaşacaktır. Dünya'da kentlerde, su sistemlerinin ve su yönetiminin nasıl yönetilmesi gerektiğine yönelik pek çok yaklaşım geliştirilmektedir. Bu tez kapsamında sürdürülebilir entegre su yönetimi ile kentsel planlama ve tasarımı entegre etmeye yönelik yer tabanlı bir yaklaşım olan suya duyarlı kentsel tasarım yaklaşımı incelenmektedir. Suya duyarlı kentsel tasarımın başarısı, yerel ölçeğe ve su kültürüne entegre olabilme yeteneğine bağlıdır. Bu noktadan hareketle, çalışmada, iklim değişikliği senaryolarının su ile ilişkisi irdelenerek, Dünyada ve Türkiye'de suya dayalı iklim değişikliği senaryoları, çözümleri ve yaklaşımları araştırılmıştır. Bu araştırmalar doğrultusunda Malatya kentinin suya duyarlılık vizyonun genel çerçevesi belirlenmiştir. Çalışmada nicel ve nitel verilerin bir arada analiz edildiği karma bir araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Kentin hidrolojik ve fiziksel verileri Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemleri kapsamında değerlendirilerek taşkın riskli alanlar belirlenmiştir. Uzman görüşmelerinden elde edilen anlatılar MAXQDA programı aracılığı ile kodlanarak kentin su kültürüne yönelik temalar tanımlanmıştır. Her iki veri grubundan elde edilen bulgular kapsamında Malatya kentinin suya duyarlı kente dönüşebilmesi için vizyon çerçevesi geliştirilmiştir. This awareness prompts professional disciplines such as urban planners and landscape architects to seek solutions to these situations that have a negative impact on the quality of life in cities. Water scarcity, which is one of the most significant risks, particularly in the context of climate change, emphasises the significance of urban water management and is recognized as a key mechanism for climate change adaptation. In this context, water management in climate change adaptation strategies has evolved into one of the fundamental tenets at various levels, from global initiatives like the Sustainable Development Goals to national actions like Turkey's Climate Change Adaptation Strategy and Action Plan to planning and design. Cities create their visions for water management in accordance with the specified national and international strategies. The city of Malatya has rapidly urbanized in the last ten years. Green spaces and permeable surfaces have significantly decreased as a result of urbanization. Therefore, problems arise in the management of water resources in and around the city. The effects of climate change, changes in precipitation patterns, longer and more frequent warm periods, and decreasing water surfaces exacerbate these issues. If solutions to the aforementioned issues are not developed, water scarcity will eventually reach a critical point. Cities create water management visions in accordance with similar strategies. Similarly, Malatya has rapidly urbanized over the last ten years, and the city's green spaces and permeable surfaces have been greatly reduced. This has begun to cause issues with the management of water resources in and around the city. Climate change, changing precipitation regimes, increased duration and frequency of hot periods, and decreasing water surfaces all exacerbate these issues. With increased urbanization, population growth, and water resource consumption, existing water systems will become insufficient in the future. The water-sensitive urban design approach, which is a ground-based approach to integrating sustainable integrated water management and urban planning and design, is examined within the scope of this thesis. Water-sensitive urban design strategy's success is dependent on its integration into the local scale and water culture. In this regard, water-based climate change scenarios, solutions, and approaches in the world and in Turkey have been investigated in the study. In accordance with these research findings, the framework of Malatya's water sensitive urban vision has been established. A mixed research method was used in the study, in which quantitative and qualitative data were analyzed concurrently. Flood risk areas were identified by analyzing the city's hydrological and physical data using Geographic Information Systems. The MAXQDA program was used to code the expert interviews' narratives, and themes related to the city's water culture were defined. Within the scope of the findings obtained from both data groups, a vision framework has been developed in order to transform Malatya into a water sensitive city. Synthesis, crystal structures, DFT calculations, and catalytic application in hydrosilylation of acetophenone derivatives with triethylsilane of novel rhoduim-N-heterocyclic carbene (NHCs) complex
N-Heterocylic carbenes (NHCs) and their role as universal spectator ligands in transition metal compounds have recently sparked a wide interest in the broader field of green chemistry because of their astounding catalytic properties in reactions involving organic synthesis. In this study, a new rhodium based complex has been developed that incorporate an N-heterocyclic carbene ligand. This rhodium(I) N-heterocyclic carbene complex was characterized fully and the solid-state single crystal X-ray structure of the complex was discussed. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis indicates that this complex crystallizes in the centrosymmetric space group Pbca of the orthorhombic system. The carbene complex exhibits the same general structural motif with slightly distorted square-planar geometry. The ground state geometry of the complex was optimized using density functional theory (DFT) at mixed double zeta basis set, 6-31G(d) for H, C, N, O and Cl and LANL2DZ for Rh. The presence of the different functional groups and the nature of their vibrations were identified by the experimental and theoretical infrared spectra. The optical properties of the studied complex were determined experimentally using UV-visible and photoluminescence techniques in solid state and theoretically using the TD-DFT method. Hirshfeld surface analysis employing 3D molecular surface contours and 2D fingerprint plots has been used to analyze intermolecular interactions present in the solid state. The utility of this complex as catalyst precursor for in the hydrosilylation of acetophenone derivatives with triethylsilane at 80 & DEG;C for 2 h using 1 mol% of the rhodium complexes was studied.The new rhodium(I) N-heterocyclic carbene complex 3 were also tested against MCF7 and MDA-MB-231 cancer cells, as well as Micrococcus luteus LB 14,110, Listeria monocytogenes ATCC 19,117, S. Typhimurium ATCC 14,028, Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Candida albicans microorganisms. (c) 2022 Elsevier B.V. Polychlorinated biphenyls and organochlorine pesticides in breast milk samples and their correlation with dietary and reproductive factors in lactating mothers in Istanbul
Persistent organic pollutants (POPs) continue to threaten the environment and human health. We have investigated levels of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and organochlorinated pesticides (OCPs) in breast milk samples. A questionnaire was also obtained from the study participants. A total of 48 healthy lactating mothers (mean age: 29.5 +/- 0.8 years) living in Istanbul volunteered to participate in this study. High-resolution analyses of several OCPs and PCB congeners were done by gas chromatography. The levels of seven major PCB congeners (28, 52, 101, 118, 138, 153, and 180) and eight OCPs (alpha-benzenehexachloride, beta-benzenehexachloride, delta-benzenehexachloride, hexachlorobenzene (HCB), and 2,4 '-dichlorodiphenyldichloroethylene (2,4DDE), 4,4 '-dichlorodiphenyldichloroethylene (4,4DDE), 2,4 '-dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (2,4DDT), and 4,4 '-dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (4,4DDT)) were determined. The analysis showed that the highest levels of PCBs were observed in PCB 52 (22.99 +/- 8.78 ng/g lipid), PCB 101 (12.22 +/- 7.8 ng/g lipid), PCB 28 (11.44 +/- 5.16 ng/g lipid), and PCB 153 (1.70 +/- 0.74 ng/g lipid). The highest OCPs detected were 4,4DDT (3.33 +/- 2.05 ng/g lipid) and 4,4DDE (0.86 +/- 0.39 ng/g lipid), and the lowest was observed in HCB (0.016 +/- 0.01 ng/g lipid). Our findings show that traces of PCBs and OCPs are still present in breast milk of lactating women living in Istanbul, and these pollutants decline in multipara women compared to primipara mothers. Are The Perfusion Index And Pleth Variability Index Title an Early Indicator of Brachial Plexus Block?
Background: Studies on the evaluation of the Perfusion Index (PI) and the Pleth Variability Index (PVI) and the success of PI and PVI block in patients undergoing brachial plexus are limited and quite inadequate. Aim: In our study, we aimed to compare PI and PVI between the interscalen block and infraclavicular block and evaluate its use as an early marker in block success. Patients and Methods: Single-center prospective randomized controlled trials. Preoperative unit, operating room. Patients over 18 years of age who have had upper extremity surgery. Brachial plexus block (interscalene, infraclavicular). Demographic data, Hemodynamic parameters, Perfusion index and Pleth Variability Index. 40 patients, including ASA1-2, 20 patients over the age of 18, who were planned for upper extremity surgery, in the interscalen group, and 20 in the supraclavicular group, were included in the study. Demographic data of the patients were recorded by measuring PI and PVI values at baseline before the block and at the 1(st), 5(th), 10(th), 15(th), and 20(th) minutes after the block, both simultaneously. Results: 62.5% (n = 25) of the patients included in the study were female. The mean age of the patients was detected as 52.63 +/- 16.472, the mean BMI as 26.57 +/- 4.423, and the mean entry hemoglobin level as 13.71 +/- 1.87 g/dL. The hemodynamic data of the groups were similar across the time periods. The increase in PI increased significantly after 1 minute in both groups. The PVI was similar between the groups at all measurement times. Conclusion: In our study, we observed an increase in PI from the 1st minute compared to the non-blocked arm in successful block applications. We consider the early indicator of PI in the evaluation of block success. In our study, we did not observe a significant change in the arm that was blocked and the arm that was not treated with PVI
Postawa pracowników wobec wymogu stosowania środków ochronnych układu oddechowego spowodowanego pandemią COVID-19
The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is the most common way to reduce worker exposure to harmful agents in the work environment. One of the forms of PPE reluctantly used by workers is respiratory protection. Their task is to protect the worker from inhaling aerosol suspended in the air. The aim of the study was to find out the employees’ attitudes on the obligation to use respiratory protection during work, before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. To achieve the aim of the study, a proprietary survey was created using a Google Form questionnaire. The questionnaire contained 25 questions, including a filter question which excluded people other than the target group. The results were statistically analysed using Statistica v.12.0. The main protection used by workers during work is a respirator. Not all workers before the pandemic were positive about wearing PPE. In the group of those who had no opinion on the use of respiratory protection, 31.71% replace worn or damaged ones with new ones, which was statistically confirmed. Workers pay great attention to the comfort of wearing PPE. In most of the establishments (56%) surveyed, additional training of workers was provided. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, a clear change was observed in workers’ attitudes towards PPE and perceptions of safety not only in the work environment. More workers report using respiratory protection during work and replacing it when it is damaged or worn out.Stosowanie środków ochrony indywidualnej (ŚOI; PPE, z ang. personal protective equipment) jest najpopularniejszym sposobem zmniejszenia narażenia pracownika na czynniki szkodliwe występujące w środowisku pracy. Jedną z form ŚOI, niechętnie stosowaną przez pracowników, są środki ochrony układu oddechowego. Ich zadaniem jest ochrona pracownika przed wdychaniem zawieszonego w powietrzu aerozolu. Celem badań było poznanie postaw pracowników wobec obowiązku stosowania ochrony układu oddechowego w trakcie pracy – przed pandemią COVID-19 i w czasie jej trwania. Do realizacji celu badania utworzono autorską ankietę, korzystając z kwestionariusza formularza Google. Ankieta zawierała 25 pytań, w tym pytanie filtrujące, które wykluczało osoby inne niż grupa docelowa. Uzyskane wyniki poddano analizie statystycznej, korzystając z programu Statistica v.12.0. Główną ochroną stosowaną przez pracowników w trakcie pracy jest półmaska. Przed pandemią nie wszyscy pracownicy byli pozytywnie nastawieni do noszenia ŚOI. W grupie osób, które nie miały zdania na temat stosowania ochrony dróg oddechowych, 31,71% wymienia zużyte lub uszkodzone ŚOI na nowe, co potwierdzono statystycznie. Ocena procesu rozdrabniania ziarna jęczmienia rozdrabniaczami bijakowymi
The paper presents a comparison of the grinding process of barley grain by using two types of vertical rotor hammer mills. The screens of holes with a diameter of 3 mm and a thickness of 2.5 mm sieve was used. The distance between the impact device and the wire in both cases was 25 mm. Analyzing the results obtained it can be concluded that the type of mill used to influence the size distribution of barley meal. The use of breaking thresholds increases the proportion of the fine fraction (less than 1 mm), which results in an increase of energy consumption of the process.W pracy przedstawiono porównanie procesu rozdrabniania ziarna jęczmienia przeprowadzonego przy użyciu dwóch typów rozdrabniaczy z pionowym wirnikiem. W badaniach zastosowano sita o otworach cylindrycznych o średnicy 3 mm i grubości sita 2,5 mm. Odległość pomiędzy bijakiem i sitem wynosiła w obu przypadkach 25 mm. Stwierdzono, że rodzaj użytego rozdrabniacza kształtuje rozkłady granulometryczne uzyskanej śruty jęczmiennej. Zastosowanie progów łamiących zwiększa udział frakcji drobnej (poniżej 1 mm), co powoduje również wzrost energochłonności procesu
