    Wykorzystanie metody oceny cyklu życia do oszacowania potencjalnej toksyczności chemicznej ochrony pszenicy ozimej w różnych systemach uprawy roli

    The study aimed to assess and compare the potential effects of the use of plant protection products, based on their emissivity and toxicity, in winter wheat in different soil tillage systems. Material for the analyses consisted of data on the chemical protection of winter wheat in conventional tillage, reduced tillage and direct sowing, collected from 15 selected farms in the Wielkopolskie voivodeship, in the years 2015–2017. The study was carried out by the life cycle assessment (LCA) methodology. Amounts of environmental emissions of active substances were determined using the PestLCI 2.08 model. Based on estimated emissions, the values ​​of the freshwater ecotoxicity potential (FETP) in chemical protection of winter wheat in three tillage systems were calculated using the USEtox 2.02 model. The study showed that in the analyzed soil tillage systems, the largest stream of environmental emission of active substances was constituted by the mass of active substances available for leaching and surface runoff, followed by emissions to air and the mass of substances permeating into groundwater. The highest value of FETP was noted in direct sowing (10365.7 CTUe·ha–1). A significantly lower value of this indicator was found in the conventional and reduced tillage (2512.4 CTUe·ha–1 and 2264.6 CTUe·ha–1, respectively).Celami badań były ocena i porównanie potencjalnych skutków stosowania środków ochrony roślin w pszenicy ozimej w różnych systemach uprawy roli na podstawie emisyjności tych środków do środowiska oraz ich toksyczności. Materiał do analiz stanowiły dane pozyskane z 15 wybranych gospodarstw rolnych w województwie wielkopolskim, dotyczące chemicznej ochrony pszenicy ozimej w uprawie orkowej, uproszczonej i siewie bezpośrednim, pochodzące z lat 2015–2017. Na potrzeby badań wykorzystano metodę oceny cyklu życia (LCA). Za pomocą modelu PestLCI 2.08 oszacowano emisję substancji czynnych do środowiska, a następnie z użyciem modelu USEtox 2.02 obliczono wartości wskaźników potencjalnej ekotoksyczności dla wody słodkiej (FETP) w chemicznej ochronie pszenicy w trzech systemach uprawy roli. Badania wykazały, że w analizowanych systemach uprawy roli największy strumień emisji substancji czynnych do środowiska stanowiły substancje dostępne do wymywania i spływu powierzchniowego, w dalszej kolejności były emisje do powietrza oraz wód gruntowych. Wartość FETP była największa w siewie bezpośrednim (10365,7 CTUe·ha–1). Istotnie mniejszą wartość tego wskaźnika stwierdzono w uprawie orkowej (2512,4 CTUe·ha–1) i uproszczonej (2264,6 CTUe·ha–1)

    Udział roślin zielarskich w zbiorowiskach segetalnych w dolinach rzecznych

    The aim of the research was to comparatively assess herbal plants growing in arable fields adjacent both to Liwiec, Tyśmienica and Wilga rivers and to natural and semi-natural habitats. The studies were conducted on permanent plots, with the composition of herbal species established according to  their useful parts and distance from the river. Floristic observations were made during the growing seasons between 2016 and 2019 in the agrocenoses of Liwiec, Tyśmienica and Wilga river valleys. In the river valleys, a total of 143 species of herbal plants, with stems, leaves, flowers, roots and seeds as useful parts, were identified. The richest in herbal plants were agrocenoses of the Wilga valley, with 121 species, but those in the valleys of Tyśmienica (110 species) and Liwiec (108 species) were less numerous. In the river valleys, native species dominated among herbs, and their share was the highest in the immediate vicinity of the river and of the habitats neighboring arable fields. Further away from the river and from those habitats, their share in the communities decreased slightly. Inventoried species of herbs found in the agrocenoses of the river valleys were diverse in terms of their useful parts. The most numerous group were species from which stems as well as leaves can be obtained for pharmaceutical purposes. Species from which only roots/rhizomes can be used constituted a significant share in the flora of the communities. Such species occurred most often on permanent plots in the immediate vicinity of the rivers. Species whose useful parts might be roots/rhizomes together with both stems and leaves, or only flowers, or only leaves were less numerous. Similarity analysis of the communities in terms of the presence of herbal plants showed significant differences between the numbers of species from which flowers, leaves, both stems and leaves as well as seeds, or roots as well as seeds, or leaves as well as flowers can be obtained.Celem podjętych badań była ocena porównawcza zasobów zielarskich w zbiorowiskach wykształcających się na polach uprawnych bezpośrednio sąsiadujących z korytami rzek Liwiec, Tyśmienica i Wilga oraz zbiorowiskami naturalnymi i półnaturalnymi. Ana-liza składu gatunkowego ziół dotyczyła pochodzenia geograficzno-historycznego, formy życiowej oraz części użytkowych jako surowca zielarskiego w zależności od odległości występowania od koryta rzeki na stałych powierzchniach. Obserwacje florystyczne przeprowadzono w sezonie wegetacyjnym 2016–2019 w agrocenozach dolin rzecznych: Liwca, Tyśmienicy i Wilgi. W badanych dolinach rzecznych zarejestrowano łączne 143 gatunki roślin o właściwościach zielarskich, z których pozyskiwane może być ziele, kwiaty, liście, korzenie i nasiona. Najbardziej zasobne w gatunki zielarskie były agrocenozy wykształcające się w dolinie Wilgi, odnotowano w nich 121 gatunków, najuboższe w dolinie Liwca (108 gatunków). W poszczególnych dolinach rzecznych wśród ziół dominowały gatunki rodzime, a ich udział najliczniejszy był w bezpośrednim sąsiedztwie rzeki i innych zbiorowisk tam występujących, wraz z oddalaniem się od tych siedlisk, ich udział w zbiorowiskach nieznacznie malał. Zinwentaryzowane gatunki ziół występujące w agrocenozach badanych dolin rzecznych były zróżnicowane pod względem części użytkowych. Najbardziej liczną grupę stanowiły gatunki, z których do celów farmaceutycznych pozyskiwane może być ziele. Znaczny udział we florze badanych zbiorowisk miały gatunki, z których mogą być pozyskiwane korzenie/kłącza. Najwięcej takich gatunków stwierdzono w bezpośrednim sąsiedztwie z korytem rzeki. Nieco mniejsze grupy stanowiły gatunki, z których częściami użytkowymi roślin mogą być korzenie/kłącza i ziele, kwiaty czy tylko liście. Analiza podobieństwa siedlisk pod względem występowania roślin zielarskich wykazała istotną różnicę dotyczącą gatunków, z których można pozyskiwać kwiaty, liście, ziele i nasiona, korzenie i nasiona oraz liście i kwiaty

    The aim of this study was to determine the effect of strip-tillage on grain quality of selected winter wheat cultivars depending on the extent of tillage applied in the post-harvest period. The first factor was the tillage method: ploughing – medium deep ploughing + strip-tillage combined with wheat sowing (UO); simplified – mulched stubble with disc aggregate + strip-tillage combined with wheat sowing (UU); zero-tillage – strip-tillage of mulched stubble combined with wheat sowing (UZ). The second factor were 3 cultivars: Formacja, Metronom and Desamo. The experiment was set up using the split-block method, in 4 replications. The response of the cultivars to the tillage methods used was generally similar-significant differences were found only for the falling number. The range of tillage treatments preceding wheat sowing with the strip-till method, did not have a significant effect on the quality traits studied, except for thousand grain weight and sedimentation index. A significantly higher value of TGW was obtained when the strip-till method was applied after ploughing, while a significantly higher value of sedimentation index was obtained when the strip-till method was applied on stubble that had not been tilled.Celem przeprowadzonych badań było określenie wpływu uprawy pasowej na jakość ziarna wybranych odmian pszenicy ozimej w zależności od zakresu uprawy roli stosowanej w okresie pożniwnym. Czynnikiem pierwszym był sposób uprawy roli: płużny – orka siewna średnio głęboka + uprawa pasowa połączona z siewem pszenicy (UO); uproszczony – zruszenie ścierni agregatem talerzowym + uprawa pasowa połączona z siewem pszenicy (UU); zerowy – uprawa pasowa zmulczowanej ścierni połączona z siewem pszenicy (UZ). Czynnikiem drugim były 3 odmiany pszenicy ozimej: Formacja, Metronom i Desamo. Doświadczenie założono metodą split-block, w 4 powtórzeniach. Reakcja odmian na stosowane metody uprawy roli była na ogół podobna – różnice istotne stwierdzono tylko w przypadku liczby opadania. Zakres zabiegów uprawowych poprzedzających siew pszenicy metodą strip-till nie miał istotnego wpływ na badane cechy jakościowe poza masą tysiąca ziaren oraz wskaźnikiem sedymentacji. Istotnie większą wartość MTZ uzyskano w przypadku zastosowania metody strip-till po orce. Natomiast istotnie większą wartość wskaźnika sedymentacji – po zastosowaniu metody strip-till bez uprzedniej uprawy pożniwnej

    Common buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum Moench) is the only crop that contains D-chiro-inositol (DCI) in significant contents in vegetative tissues and its α-D-galactosyl derivatives in seeds. Besides DCI, buckwheat tissues contain small contents of D-pinitol (PIN) and myo-inositol (MIN) and their α-D-galactosyl derivatives. D-chiro-inositol is a health-promoting cyclitol of increasing importance in the treatment of some human diseases. However, changes in DCI content in stems, leaves and maturing buckwheat seeds during plant vegetation and under desiccation were not known. The present study analyzed the concentration of cyclitols and their galactosides in the stems, leaves and seeds of plants harvested on 79th, 94th and 123th days after sowing (DAS) and after desiccation at ambient temperature (23° ±2°C). D-chiro-inositol content in stems and leaves increased with vegetation, while the opposite trend was found in developing and maturing seeds. In the seeds, the accumulation of mono-galactosyl DCI derivatives increased, but at the same time, the content of mono-galactosyl PIN and MIN derivatives decreased. The desiccation process drastically increased the content of di-galactosyl derivatives of DCI and MIN in the seeds.     Concerns about food safety issues have put considerable pressure on pesticide producers in Europe and worldwide to reduce the levels of pesticide residues in food. The aim of this work is to assess the use of traditional pesticides and their effects, to present perspectives in this field and to identify regulatory needs for their use and implementation. The work is based on a systematic review in which the research problem was defined, primary sources were selected and critically appraised, data were collected, analysed and evaluated, and conclusions were formulated. The state of the pesticide market and the current legal requirements for risk assessment in relation to exposure to chemical substances were reviewed. Food safety issues are presented through the prism of pesticide residues in food. Their widespread use and considerable persistence have made them ubiquitous in the natural environment and their residues pose a threat to the environment and to human and animal health. It has been shown that the most important factor influencing the search for new tools to control diseases and pests of crops is the progressive development of resistance of these populations to currently used pesticides.     Problematyka rewaloryzacji i adaptacji ginących zabytków na Lubelszczyźnie na przykładzie zespołu dworsko-parkowego w Sobianowicach. Cz. I

    The subject of the manuscript is an attempt to draw attention to the problem of abandoned and disappearing historic buildings under legal conservation protection located in the south-eastern part of Poland. The research looked for the reasons for this state of affairs and proposedsolutions to prevent such situations. Specific revalorization activities were also proposed for the manor and park complex in Sobianowice. The following analyses: the existing condition, historical, communication, formal and legal, were developed, and a detailed dendrological inventory was made for the park in Sobianowice. Based on the research conducted, guidelines for further treatment of the manor house and the surrounding park were developed. Restoration of a manor house is a process that aims to restore the historic building to its former glory and adapt it to contemporary needs and standards. Currently, however, the biggest problem is the lack of financialresources for any security, revalorization or adaptation works. The restoration of the manor house is a long-term process and requires the cooperation of many specialists, including architects, conservators, engineers and cultural heritage experts. However, the effects of this process allowus to preserve valuable cultural and historical heritage and transform the neglected facility into an attractive place for the local community and tourists.Tematem manuskryptu jest próba zwrócenia uwagi na problem opuszczonych i zanikających obiektów zabytkowych objętych prawną ochroną konserwatorską zlokalizowanych w południowo-wschodniej części Polski. W badaniach poszukiwano przyczyn takiego stanu rzeczy, a także przedstawiono propozycję rozwiązań celem zapobiegania takim sytuacjom. Zaproponowano również konkretne działania rewaloryzacyjne dla założenia dworsko-parkowego w Sobianowicach. Opracowano następujące analizy: stanu istniejącego, historyczną, komunikacyjną, formalno-prawną, a także wykonano szczegółową inwentaryzację dendrologiczną dla parku w Sobianowicach.Na podstawie przeprowadzonych badań powstały wytyczne do dalszego postępowania z dworem i otaczającym go parkiem. Rewaloryzacja dworu to proces, który ma na celu przywrócenie zabytkowemu budynkowi jego dawnej świetności oraz dostosowanie go do współczesnych potrzeb i standardów. Aktualnie jednak największym problemem jest brak środków finansowych na jakiekolwiek prace zabezpieczające, rewaloryzacyjne czy adaptacyjne. Rewaloryzacja dworu to proces długotrwały i wymagający współpracy wielu specjalistów, w tym architektów, konserwatorów, inżynierów i ekspertów od dziedzictwa kulturowego. Jednak efekty tego procesu pozwalajązachować cenne dziedzictwo kulturowe i historyczne oraz przekształcić zaniedbany obiekt w atrakcyjne miejsce dla społeczności lokalnej i turystów

    This manuscript presents the project of adapting a water mill in Turka commune. Wólka and refers to research on a neighboring monument – the manor and park complex in Sobianowice. In this case, specific revalorization activities were also proposed aimed at functionally connectingthese two facilities. For this purpose, the following analyzes were developed: the existing condition, historical, communication, formal and legal, as well as a general record of the current vegetation around the mill. Based on the research conducted, guidelines for further proceedings were developed. Apart from the lack of financial resources and an investor, the main obstacle to saving the monument is the ownership situation. The plot on which the mill is located belongs to several owners. Despite these obstacles, thanks to the close location of the manor and the mill on the Bystrzyca River and the idea of linking them with common utility and functional features and adaptations forhotel and catering purposes – they could become a tourist attraction of the region.Niemniejszy manuskrypt przestawia projekt adaptacji młyna wodnego w Turce gm. Wólka i nawiązuje do badań o sąsiednim zabytku – zespole dworsko-parkowym w Sobianowicach. W tym przypadku również zaproponowano konkretne działania rewaloryzacyjne mające na celu połączenie funkcjonalne tych dwóch obiektów. W tym celu opracowano następujące analizy: stanu istniejącego, historyczną, komunikacyjną, formalno-prawną, a także wykonano ogólną ewidencję aktualnej roślinności wokół młyna. Na podstawie przeprowadzonych badań powstaływytyczne do dalszego postępowania. Oprócz braku  środków finansowych i inwestora główną przeszkodą w uratowaniu zabytku jest sytuacja własnościowa. Działka, na której znajduje się młyn, należy do kilku właścicieli. Pomimo tych przeszkód dzięki niedalekiej lokalizacji względemsiebie dworu i młyna nad rzeką Bystrzycą oraz idei powiązania ich wspólnymi cechami użytkowymi, funkcjonalnymi i adaptacjom na cele hotelowe i gastronomiczne – mogłyby one stać się atrakcją turystyczną regionu

    International Prosthetics-Orthotics Congress -- 2018 -- Ankara, TURKEYAim: This research was planned to analyze the relationship between femoraloanteversion, pelvic inclination and spasticity in children with spasticodiplegic cerebral palsy. Material and Methods: The study included 33 participants with spasticldiplegic cerebrallpalsy, aged 5-18 years (mean age 13.7 years [SD 3.1 years]; 15 girls, 18 boys), with GrosslMotor Function Classification Score 1 and 2. Femoralianteversion was evaluated with the Craig test. Pelvic inclination angle was measured using a specially designed caliper-like device and a mobile application (rotating sphere clinometer) with a phone placed on the device. Spasticity was evaluated using the Modified Ashworth Scale. The average spasticity values in the lower extremity hip flexor, adductor, internal rotator, knee flexor, plantar flexor and evertor muscles were calculated. Results: A moderate positiveicorrelation was observed between the femoral anteversion angle and pelvic inclination angle (right: r=.373, p.05; left: r=.302, p>.05). Discussion: It was observed that an increase in lower extremity spasticity value may cause an increased femoralianteversion angle, while an increase in femoral anteversion may cause an increase in pelvic inclination angle

    A Comparison of Dual-Energy CT with MRI in the Detection of Traumatic Bone Marrow Edema in Distal Extremity Bones

    Objective: Our objective was to evaluate the performance of dual-energy computed tomography (DECT) in detecting post-traumatic bone marrow edema (BME) in distal extremities.Materials and Methods: We prospectively studied 31 consecutive patients (25 males) who presented within the first four weeks following distal extremity traumas (wrist, n=19; ankle, n=14) (protocol number: 2017/74). All patients underwent DECT and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) within three days of presentation. Two independent radiologists analyzed DECT images for fractures and BME qualitatively. Computed tomography (CT) numbers on Virtual non-calcium (VNCa) images were obtained in both edematous and non-edematous areas for quantitative consensus assessment. We used MRI as a reference standard. Results: MRI identified BME in 56/71 bones (78.9%). The rates of BME detection on CT compared to MRI at the patient level were found to be statistically significantly lower, ex-cept for individuals over 40 years of age, women, those with 7-30 days between trauma and admission, and those with CT-detected fractures (p<0.05). The rates of BME detection on CT at the bone level, compared to MRI, were found to be statistically significantly lower (p<0.01), except for women and those with fractures detected on CT. The interobserver agreement for the qualitative analysis of BME was fair (kappa=0.407 and p<0.001). DECT's diagnostic accuracy rates in predicting BME were significantly higher in patients with fractures (p=0.028). CT numbers in edematous areas were significantly higher than in non-edematous areas (p<0.001).Conclusion: DECT may serve as an alternative for detecting post-traumatic BME in distal extremity bones. However, in our heterogeneous bone sample group, it exhibited low sensitivity and a low negative predictive value

    Production and optimization of sports drinks by obtaining protein-rich powder from apricot kernel milk

    Bu çalışma, zengin besin içeriğine sahip olan kayısı çekirdeği sütünün püskürtmeli kurutma yöntemiyle süt tozu haline dönüştürülmesini ve elde edilen tozların sporcu içeceğinde ingredient olarak kullanımını kapsamaktadır. Çalışmada öncelikle kayısı çekirdeğinden elde edilen pres kekinden kayısı çekirdeği sütü üretilmiş, sonrasında kayısı çekirdeği sütünden toz elde edilmiş, en son aşamada ise kayısı çekirdeği sütü tozundan sporcu içeceği üretilmiştir. Bu aşamalarda pres keki, süt, süt tozu ve sporcu içeceğinde fizikokimyasal, mikrobiyolojik ve duyusal analizler yapılarak kayısı çekirdeği sütü, tozu ve sporcu içeceğinde optimizasyon işlemleri gerçekleştirilmiştir. Kayısı çekirdeği sütü optimizasyonu için; mekanik parçalayıcı veya homojenizör ve ultrasonik parçalayıcı için proses şartları yüzey yanıt yöntemine göre optimize edilmiştir. Her iki yöntemde belirlenen sınır değerlere göre; en iyi mekanik parçalayıcı hızı 15,000 devir/dk ve 5 dakika, Sonikasyon için 50 A amplitude ve 5 dk sonikasyon süresi şeklinde belirlenmiştir. Kayısı çekirdeği sütü tozu optimizasyonunda sıcaklık 140-160 °C , aspirasyon hızı 20-30 m3/saat ve maltodekstrin miktarı %6-10 aralıklarında seçilmiş ve en iyi koşullar 150 oC giriş sıcaklığı, %8 maltodekstrin ve 25 m3/h aspirasyon hızı olarak belirlenmiştir. Sporcu içeceği optimizasyonda ise kayısı çekirdeği sütü tozu miktarı %3-6, şeker miktarı %4-6 ve keçi boynuzu gamı miktarı %0.2-0.6 aralıklarında seçilmiş ve en iyi koşullar %4.5 kayısı çekirdeği sütü tozu, %5 şeker ve %0.4 gam olarak belirlenmiştir. Optimizasyonda uygulanan model ve tasarımda istatistiksel olarak önemli sonuçlar (P<0.05) elde edilmiştir. Çalışma sonuçlarına göre kayısı çekirdeği sütünde 18 farklı aminoasit ve 12 uçucu bilrşik tespit edilmiştir. Kayısı çekirdeği sütü ve kayısı çekirdeği sütü tozunda en yüksek miktarda tespit edilen aminoasit Leu olup sırasıyla 31.73 µg/mL ve 238.09 mg/g olarak hesaplanmıştır. Diğer taraftan, kayısı çekirdeği sütünde ve kayısı çekirdeği sütü tozunda en fazla saptanan uçucu bileşen benzaldehit olup sırasıyla 79.15- 0.41 μg/100 ml olarak hesaplanmıştır. Elde edilen sporcu içeceğinde toplam fenolik madde içeriği (4.66 mg GAE/mL) ve antioksidan aktivite değerleri (ABTS; 15.597 µmol Troloks/100 mL, DPPH; 18.994 µmol Troloks/100 mL) çıkmıştır. Üretilen sporcu içeceği, fizikokimyasal, mikrobiyolojik ve duyusal analiz yönünden kabul edilebilir düzeyde bulunmuştur. Elde edilen bu ürün aynı zamanda günümüzde popüler olan vegan beslenme alışkanlıkları açısından bitki bazlı proteine alternatif bir kaynaktır.This study covers the conversion of apricot kernel milk, which has a rich nutritional content, into powdered milk by spray drying method and the use of the obtained powders as an ingredient in sports drinks. In the study, first of all, apricot kernel milk was produced from the press cake obtained from apricot kernels, then powder was obtained from apricot kernel milk, and in the last step, sports drink was produced from apricot kernel milk powder. At these stages, physicochemical, microbiological and sensory analyzes were conducted in press cake, milk, milk powder and sports drink, and optimization process was carried out in apricot kernel milk, milk powder and sports drink. For apricot kernel milk optimization; the process conditions for the mechanical shredder or homogenizer and ultrasonic shredder are optimized according to the surface response method. According to the limit values determined in both methods; The best mechanical shredder speed was determined as 15.000 rpm and 5 minutes, 50 A amplitude for sonication and 5 minutes of sonication time. In the optimization of apricot kernel milk powder, the temperature was selected as 140-160 °C, the aspiration rate was 20-30 m3/h and the amount of maltodextrin was 6-10%, and the best conditions were determined as 150 °C inlet temperature, 8% maltodextrin and 25 m3/h aspiration rate. In sports drink optimization, the amount of apricot kernel milk powder was selected between 3-6%, sugar content 4-6% and carob gum content in the range of 0.2-0.6%, and the best conditions were determined as 4.5% apricot kernel milk powder, 5% sugar and 0.4% gum. Statistically significant results (P<0.05) were obtained in the model and design applied in the optimization. According to the results of the study, 18 different amino acids and 12 volatile compounds were detected in apricot kernel milk. The highest amount of amino acid detected in apricot kernel milk and apricot kernel milk powder was Leu, and it was calculated as 31.73-238.09 µg/mg. The most abundant volatile component in apricot kernel milk and apricot kernel milk powder was benzaldehyde, calculated as 79.15-0.41 μg/100 ml). High levels of phenolic content (4.66 mg GAE/mL) and antioxidant activity values (ABTS; 15,597 µmol Trolox/100 mL, DPPH; 18,994 µmol Trolox/100 mL) were determined in the obtained sports drink. The produced sports drink was found to be acceptable in terms of physicochemical, microbiological and sensory analysis. In this direction, it can meet the increasing demand for vegetable protein sources instead of animal protein due to world population growth, ethical and environmental concerns and the desire for a healthy life
