Learning through play is a well-known part of a human being’s social and emotional development. Children learn very important social skills through games and role-playing. Teaching through play is also a widely recognized method of language acquisition. When playing, students learn faster and are more motivated to revise material, because they do not usually see play as a boring part of an educational program or as something they have to do, but as a “fun” part of a lesson. In this paper, the author presents certain ideas for revising the “seasons of the year” chapter of the student’s book Вот и мы 2 in a less formal way. Popular quizzes such as “hangman” or “mind maps” can be easily transformed into an educational game that will turn an ordinary revision lesson into a more creative and effective form of learning

The author of this article points to Pelevin’s two main creative strategies: his use of satire which is connected with the representation of history and his inclination toward mysticism and esotericism. This article reconstructs the historical background of this work and mentions the oligarch Khodorkovsky, which constitutes the plot of the novel. Certain aspects of V. Pelevin’s language play are also analyzed, in particular, his tendency to change the meaning of the concept of a number in the novel: a number can be mystical; it can be seen as an image or a sign and also as a word and a part of the text. The collision of two myths – the myth about capitalist consumption and the communistic myth about restoring justice – is investigated. This article shows how dogmas and ideas that are not connected with a specific person are parodied

This article attempts to describe the semantic structure of the adjective biały in the Polish language and the adjective белый in the Russian language. Following R. Tokarski’s theory, according to which the semantics of the white color can be interpreted in two ways, the author puts forward a hypothesis that there is a third way to interpret the semantics of this adjective, i.e. the so-called transparent interpretation of white. The analysis uses lexicographic data that were obtained from contemporary dictionaries of both languages

The Archangelsk Gospel is a manuscript which is based on two original works. The authors of the two basic parts of the Archangelsk Gospel used the texts of differently edited Aprakos. One of the copyists used a short version of Aprakos, while the other used its complete version. This double provenance is reflected in orthographic, morphological, lexical and word-formation differences between the two parts of the gospel. This article discusses the usage of člověčь, člověčьskъ and člověčьskyj in the context of the lectionary’s creation
