Get PDFThe article focuses on the problem of orthographic and graphic variants of English loanwords in modern Russian. The empirical material was excerpted from normative dictionaries and Russian glossy magazines. The main purpose of the studies was to define the reasons for different notation of anglicisms, to illustrate the types of orthographic and graphic variants, and also to indicate the most important issues of loanword codification in normative practice. Variation in writing is a dynamic phenomenon in Russian (ortho) graphy that requires lexicographical description as there are no separate rules of notation for loanwords

The material shows examples of verbalization in two aspects of analysis: in first part the material has been divided into five groups and focused on the grammatical characteristics of the examples, in second part the author of the article attempts to compare the descriptions of emotions written in music score with examples of verbalization used in critical texts on music. Get PDFThe title nostalgia in Andrei Tarkovsky’s film is evoked by the Russian writer’s longing for his family and homeland. It is activated in his contact with another culture, in this case with Italian culture. This paper attempts to provide an analysis of the mechanisms used by the director to make a projection of this emotional state and to portray it in the film. A number of intersemiotic relations among visual, verbal and sound codes were analysed. The following relations were identified: complementarity, parallelism and contradiction. The provided examples show the significance of the visual code as an indicator of cultural otherness. They also prove the diversity of stylistic devices used for transposing emotional states to the physical world
