    The article is dedicated to general issues concerning verbal text and communication and the analysis of the communicative structure of a literary text. In the introduction, the interest to research not only text but also the phenomenon of a more complex character – communication – is expressed. The problem of the text as a part of communication process is also discussed taking into account the verbal means. In the first part, the attention is focused on the verbal text in the aspect of communication. The characteristics of implicit parts of the communication process (an author, code, text, channel, recipient, communicative situation) is presented as well. In the third part, there is the analysis of the specific type of a complex semiotic text – a literary verbal text and its communicative comprehension in both productive and receptive aspects. The connection of the text with textual subjects is studied as well. In the last part of the text, the conclusions of presented problems are drawn

    Victor Olegovich Pelevin undoubtedly belongs to the most popular contemporary Russian writers. He is recognized as one of the leading representatives of Russian postmodernism. The purpose of this article is to show distinguishing features and characteristics of Pelevin’s “non-human beings”: at first to discuss Pelevin’s “postmodernist and eclectic” conception of “supernatural creatures”: werewolves and vampires (Pelevin deconstructs “werewolf and vampire discourses”), and secondly, to show Pelevin’s point of view on human–robot relationships. The following Pelevin’s novels are the subject of the analysis in this paper: The Sacred Book of the Werewolf (2004), Empire “V”. The Story of a Real Superman (2006), S.N.U.F.F. (2011), Batman Apollo (2013)

    The aim of this article is to focus on the role of intonation in the process of semiosis of Russian particles as language signs. Intonation is a non-lingual means of communication. It fulfills an auxiliary or independent function in the act of communication.     The paper analyses Irina Mamayeva’s short stories and tales that show the life in Russian rural areas during a dozen or so years following perestroika, and point out its influence on both individual life and that of a village community as a group. The picture of the rural areas in the 1990s and at the beginning of the 21st century is pessimistic, filled with images of dilapidating houses, companies being shut down, lack of transport connections. This material destruction is accompanied by the spiritual degradation of the inhabitants: poverty, unemployment, mutual aggression and the feeling of being abandoned by the previous system

    While misinformation and propaganda have existed since ancient times, their importance and influence nowadays – in the age of social media – is still not clear. Recent social and political events, such as the controversial Brexit referendum in the United Kingdom and the narrow win of Donald Trump in the U.S. presidential election of 2016, have led to a wave of interest in the phenomenon of “fake news” – described usually as a piece of fabricated information that disseminates deceptive content or distorts actual news reports, shared on social media. Despite being a new term, “fake news” has also evolved very quickly and rapidly. The present article attempts to analyze how the term “fake news” is being developed in recent years. The article characterizes this relevant social phenomenon linked to cheating, misinformation and manipulation and also proposes its classification and definition
