    Infiltration Modeling Using Horton’s Equation on Longbean (Vigna sinensis L.) Cultivation with Organic Fertilizer Treatmen

    Infiltration, the process by which water enters the soil, plays a crucial role in water availability and fertilization efficiency. This study aimed to determine the effect of organic fertilizer in chicken and cow manures on soil infiltration in long bean cultivation. This research was conducted in Tunggulo Village, Tilongkabila Sub- District, Bone Bolango Regency, Gorontalo Province, from February to April 2025. This study employed a Randomized Block Design with five treatment levels and three repetitions. Infiltration was measured using a double-ring infiltrometer and analyzed using Horton’s model. Based on the analysis, the fertilizer-free treatment (P0) exhibited the highest infiltration capacity with an infiltration rate of 63.37 mm hour-1 and was considered fast according to the Kohnke infiltration classification. Meanwhile, the lowest infiltration capacity was found in the treatment of organic fertilizer in chicken manure with a dose of 10 tons ha-1 (P1), with an infiltration rate of 18.20 mm hour-1 (rather slow). Linear regression analysis revealed a negative relationship between constant infiltration and production, where the constant infiltration factor accounted for only 47.36% of the variation in long bean production, suggesting that excessive infiltration can lead to nutrient leaching from the root zone. The results of the analysis showed that the treatment of organic fertilizer did not have a significant effect on the capacity and rate of infiltration. Based on Horton’s model, the highest infiltration capacity was found  in the treatment without fertilizer, followed by the treatment with organic fertilizer from chicken manure at a dose of 20 tons ha-1, and the lowest at a dose of 10 tons ha-1 of cow manure

    The Role of Lithological Characteristics in Determining Landslide Susceptibility: Evidence from Tegalwaru District, West Java, Indonesia

    This research examines the influence of lithological characteristics on landslide susceptibility in Tegalwaru District, Purwakarta Regency. The area is predominantly composed of claystone formations from the Jatiluhur Formation, which exhibits impermeable and porous properties. During high-intensity rainfall events, water infiltration becomes limited, resulting in rapid saturation of the surface layer. These conditions trigger soil softening and reduce slope stability in areas characterized by steep to very steep terrain gradients. Additionally, weathered volcanic fragments of andesite and diorite that comprise this region undergo intensive weathering processes, forming joint systems and boulders that are susceptible to movement. These lithological factors are further aggravated by high precipitation and anthropogenic activities, which collectively influence slope stability. This research emphasizes the critical importance of understanding lithological characteristics for effective landslide risk mitigation and disaster management planning

    Transformative Disaster Education for Reducing the Knowledge Action Gap among Adolescents: Evidence Synthesis Based on Local Seismicity in West Sumatra

    West Sumatra, Indonesia, faces a critical dual seismic hazard from the Sunda Megathrust and the active Sumatra Fault System, resulting in repetitive destructive earthquakes and high structural vulnerability. This study investigates the effectiveness of disaster preparedness among adolescents (aged 10–24), a strategic demographic group comprising over 25% of the population. Using Evidence Synthesis via a Descriptive-Qualitative Library Research approach, this paper analyzes the convergence of local seismotectonic risks and social preparedness models.The synthesis reveals a significant knowledge–action gap (preparedness paradox): while theoretical disaster knowledge among students is high, their practical readiness and self-efficacy are moderate to low. This discrepancy is primarily driven by the insufficient contextualization of education to specific local seismic threats. We argue that structural mitigation must be urgently complemented by strengthening social adaptive capacity. The study advocates for implementing transformative disaster education that formally integrates local seismic data, hazard maps, and scenario-based psychomotor training. This model is essential for fostering adaptive competence and leveraging adolescents as pivotal agents of long-term community resilience and disaster risk reduction in this high-risk environment

    Organoleptic Testing Of Broiler Chicken Meat Quality With The Addition Of Corn Leaf Flour and Seaweed

    The addition of corn leaf and seaweed powder  will have a positive effect on broiler meat quality  in terms of consumer acceptance based on organoleptic testing. This study aims to determine the effect of adding corn leaf flour and seaweed on the quality of broiler chickens. The research design used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 3 replicates, with the administration of commercial feed (control), corn leaf flour (5-15%), and seaweed flour (5-15%). The variables observed in the study were organoleptic properties (color, aroma, texture) using 30 untrained panelists. The data obtained from the organoleptic test results were analyzed using Analysis of Variation (ANOVA). The results of the ANOVA statistical analysis showed that feeding a mixture of corn leaf flour and seaweed did not have a significant effect (P<0.05). The average organoleptic test results for color were 6.8 (somewhat appealing), aroma 6.9 (somewhat appealing), and texture 7.9 (quite appealing). The conclusion that can be drawn from this study is that adding corn flour and seaweed does not significantly affect the panelists' preference for broiler chicken meat and can reduce  the sensory quality or consumer acceptance of broiler chicke

    Potential Analysis of Micro Hydro Power Utilizing Irrigation Canal Flow for Local Energy Autarky: A Case Study in Sumbergempol, East Java, Indonesia

    Energy self-sufficiency (energy autarky) is an important issue in the development of sustainable energy systems, especially in rural areas that still depend on external energy networks. One renewable energy source that has not been optimally utilized is irrigation flow, which has a stable discharge throughout the year and can be converted into electrical energy through micro-hydro power plant (MHP) technology. This study was conducted to analyze the micro-hydro energy potential of irrigation channels in Sumbergempol District, Tulungagung Regency, as an effort to support local energy autarky. The research methods included direct flow rate measurements using the float method and area-velocity calculations, as well as manual head measurements. The measurement results showed a representative flow rate of 0.90-0.91 m³/s and an effective head of 0.80 m, resulting in a hydraulic power potential of 7.14 kW and an effective output power of approximately 4.28 kW. Based on the low-head characteristics, the most suitable turbine is the Archimedes Screw, with a recommended generator capacity of 6-7 kVA. Load requirement analysis shows that the micro-hydro power plant is capable of supplying approximately 3.16 kW for public street lighting, residents' homes, and mosque facilities.  This study aims to provide a technical basis for the utilization of irrigation channels as an alternative energy source that supports increased energy access and local energy autarky in rural areas

    Development Of Problem-Based Learning Geography Teaching Modules To Improve Critical Thinking Skills In Biodiversity Materials Class XI

    This study developed a Problem-Based Learning (PBL)–based Geography teaching module on Biodiversity for Grade XI students at SMA Negeri 2 Wonosari. The module was created to provide learning materials that encourage active participation and strengthen students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills in addressing environmental issues. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the 4-D model, consisting of Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate stages. Validation results from module and material experts indicate that the teaching module is highly feasible for use, with a validity score of 87% from the module expert and 90% from the material expert, both falling into the “very good” category with minor revisions. Limited trials conducted with students produced scores ranging from 70% to 87%, placing the module in the “good” to “very good” category. The results also show that the PBL-based Geography module is effective in improving students’ critical thinking skills, with an average N-gain of 0.47 categorized as moderate. Significant improvement was observed particularly in students’ ability to provide simple explanations and draw conclusions related to biodiversity and its connection to environmental sustainability. Thus, the PBL-based Geography teaching module can make a positive contribution and serve as an alternative learning resource that supports the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka, particularly in enhancing quality learning and strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile through contextual and participatory learnin

    Urban Energy Resilience in Southeast Asian Megacities: Integrating the 4A Framework and Multi-Level Governance Gaps in Jakarta, Manila, and Bangkok

    Urban energy resilience has become a critical challenge for Southeast Asian megacities amid rapid urbanization, climate induced hazards, and increasing dependence on centralized energy systems. While existing studies predominantly emphasize technical reliability, the governance dimension of urban energy resilience remains insufficiently theorized. This study proposes a conceptual framework that integrates the four dimensions of energy security, Availability, Accessibility, Affordability, and Acceptability (4A) with the OECD’s Seven Multilevel Governance Gaps to examine how institutional structures shape urban energy resilience. This qualitative systematic literature review applies the framework to a comparative analysis of Jakarta, Manila, and Bangkok. The findings reveal contrasting resilience profiles across the three cities. Manila demonstrates low adaptive capacity due to fragmented governance and high reliance on imported energy. Jakarta exhibits dependent resilience, characterized by a stable supply but limited local autonomy under centralized energy governance. Bangkok demonstrates relatively strong resilience, supported by higher institutional capacity, although constrained by policy inertia and coordination gaps. The study concludes that urban energy resilience is driven primarily by governance performance rather than technical capacity alone. This framework provides a policy oriented analytical tool to strengthen urban energy resilience in developing countries

    Determinants of Poverty in Nigeria: A Time Series Analysis

    The study investigated the determinants of poverty in Nigeria using annual time series data for twenty-three years (2000-2022). The study strives to specifically evaluate the impact of corruption, unemployment, economic instability, and population growth rate on poverty in Nigeria. Secondary data collated from the CBN statistical bulletin and the World Bank indicator for the period was used for the study. Employing the ordinary least squares (OLS) regression technique and ex-post facto research design for the statistical computations. The findings of the correlation test carried out, discovered that all the selected determinants (corruption, unemployment, economic instability and population growth) have a significant positive and negative correlation on poverty levels in Nigeria. The OLS regression model employed in this study shows that the regression model concludes that corruption, unemployment rate and population growth rate are positively associated with poverty level, while and economic instability is negatively associated with poverty level but was found to be statistically insignificant. Based on the finding of the study, it was concluded that efforts should be made to reduce corruption and manage population growth rates to curb poverty levels. This could be achieved through implementing strict anti-corruption measures and promoting good governance practices

    The development of information technology, especially the internet, has driven a significant transformation in buying and selling activities. Business actors now do not only rely on physical stores (offline), but also utilize digital media to promote and sell products online. This change has an impact on the structure of business income, including at CV. Global Best LS which implements both models. Differences in terms of market reach, patterns of interaction with consumers, and cost efficiency between online and offline methods raise questions about the extent to which each is effective in increasing income. Based on this, this study aims to examine in more depth the comparison of online and offline business income within the framework of sharia economics. The purpose of this study is to analyze the comparison of income between online and offline buying and selling businesses at CV. Global Best LS, identify the factors that influence these differences, and evaluate the level of application of sharia economic principles in the two business models. This study is based on sharia economic theory, especially in the context of buying and selling (al-bai'), which emphasizes the principles of honesty, justice, and blessings in every transaction. In addition, this study also refers to the approach of consumer behavior theory and marketing strategies in digital business to support comparative analysis of business income between online and offline buying and selling models. The method used is descriptive qualitative research, with a case study approach at CV. Global Best LS. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed narratively to obtain a factual picture of the income from the two buying and selling methods run. The results of the study show that online buying and selling businesses generate higher income compared to offline businesses, due to wider market reach, operational efficiency, and digitalization trends. Meanwhile, offline businesses have the advantage of building consumer trust through direct interaction, although constrained by high operational costs. Both of these buying and selling methods have implemented the principles of Islamic economics in general, although improvements are still needed in terms of financial recording and transaction transparency
