    No full text
This study aims to explain how locally-based adaptive innovation has become a survival strategy for Usman Batik Lumajang (UBL) in facing competition from the modern batik industry. Batik MSMEs are required to develop innovations that are rooted in cultural values while also being responsive to market changes. To explore this process in depth, this study uses a qualitative grounded theory method with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. Informants include business owners, craftsmen, marketing staff, consumers, and community leaders. The results of the analysis through open coding, axial coding, and selective coding show that UBL's adaptive innovation is formed from a combination of local cultural values, design creativity, marketing strategy adjustments, and community support. Distinctive motifs such as Pisang Agung and Kuda Kencak are unique resources that are difficult to imitate, in line with the Resource-Based View (RBV) theory. Meanwhile, design development, quality improvement, and product diversification reflect innovation as defined in the OECD (Oslo Manual). The resulting substantive theory concludes that the sustainability of batik MSMEs is largely determined by the ability to integrate local cultural values with modern product innovation in a sustainable manner. Local-based adaptive innovation not only enhances competitiveness but also plays a role in preserving regional cultural identit

The Role of International Organizations in Promoting Human Rights Enforcement and Global Peace: A Study on the Middle East

    No full text
International organizations play a crucial role in protecting human rights (HR) and achieving peace worldwide. The United Nations (UN), the Arab League, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have worked to stop human rights violations and widespread conflicts in various regions, including the Middle East. However, resource limitations, political interests of member states, and the lack of enforcement mechanisms often hinder their effectiveness. Ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, such as the Syrian war and the Israel-Palestine tensions, demonstrate that international interventions have still been unable to bring lasting stability. Despite various policies, such as diplomatic resolutions, peace missions, and humanitarian aid, the results have been limited. One of the major issues faced is the obstruction of neutral conflict resolution efforts by global political interests. Additionally, there is resistance from the warring parties and a lack of coordination between local actors and international organizations. If international organizations wish to enhance their ability to address conflicts in the Middle East, they must take strategic actions, such as increasing sanctions against human rights violators, improving rapid responses to conflicts, strengthening cooperation with local actors, maintaining integrity and accountability, and implementing an inclusive peace approach. International organizations can enforce human rights and create more sustainable global peace by adopting a more flexible approach and collaborating

    No full text
Student learning achievement is the main indicator of the success of the educational process that reflects students' ability to carry out learning activities in accordance with the expected achievements. Student learning achievement is influenced by many factors both internal and external such as attitudes, interests, basic abilities of students, learning strategies, and classroom management. In the context of education in Indonesia, especially in Aceh, the implementation of gender-based classroom management is one of the classroom management models that is carried out in an effort to improve learning achievement. This gender separation is in accordance with Qanun Number 23 of 2002 concerning the education system based on Islamic law, namely religious values and community culture, but the effectiveness of this model of classroom management is still unknown. This study aims to determine the effect of gender-based classroom management on student learning achievement at SMAN 11 Banda Aceh. The quantitative method was used by distributing questionnaires on gender-based classroom management and learning achievement taken from report card scores given to 143 respondents, namely students through a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis using simple linear regression SPSS version 25. The results showed that the effect of gender-based classroom management on learning achievement obtained a significance value of 0.364. This finding concludes that gender-based classroom management does not have an effect on learning achievement. Therefore, an in-depth study is needed to understand the effectiveness of this strategy, especially in order to achieve optimal learning outcome

This study aims to analyze the design, internalization, conformity values, and community involvement in National Defense Education and Training in Makassar City, particularly among street communities. Using a qualitative approach, this study involved street children (parking attendants, pa'ogah, and buskers) with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observations, and documentation through Focus Group Discussions (FGD). The results show that effective training design must be inclusive and contextual to foster positive conformity, not coercion. The internalization of national defense values is successful through equal interaction, where respondents' self-efficacy and motivation increase when they feel valued. The conformity that is formed is pro-social, manifested in concrete actions such as mutual cooperation and social awareness, born out of consciousness, not obedience. Finally, the active involvement of all levels of society is the key to the success of the program, fostering a sense of collective responsibility and ownership. This study concludes that the internalization of national defense is effective when it is participatory and relevant to social realit

Artificial Intelligence and Maritime Governance: Policy Challenges in Combating Illegal Fishing in the Natuna Exclusive Economic Zone

    No full text
The Natuna Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) is one of Indonesia’s most strategic maritime areas, facing persistent threats from illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing that undermine national sovereignty, food security, and marine sustainability. Conventional maritime patrols have proven inadequate due to limited resources, adverse weather, and the vastness of the region. This study explores the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in strengthening maritime governance, with particular attention to policy challenges in addressing IUU fishing in the Natuna EEZ. Using a qualitative-analytical case study approach, the research identifies major issues such as inter-agency coordination, legal recognition of digital evidence, and community participation in surveillance efforts. The findings show that AI can enhance maritime monitoring through multisensor data integration, trajectory prediction, and anomaly detection in vessel movements. However, the effectiveness of AI systems depends on institutional interoperability, legal adaptation, and inclusive governance mechanisms. The study concludes that AI integration in maritime governance represents a multidimensional reform rather than a purely technical advancement. It bridges technology, law, and environmental management, positioning AI as a strategic instrument to safeguard Indonesia’s maritime sovereignty and strengthen its contribution to Indo-Pacific security cooperation
