Digital Islamic Studies and the Pedagogy: Non-Specialist Undergraduate Crossing into the Study of the Qurʾān
In acquiring knowledge and skills to practise medicine and health sciences integrated with Islamic studies, several courses are introduced in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia. The present paper documents one such course on the thematic study of the Qurʾān, undertaken by second-year undergraduates of the second year in an introductory level on the science and medicine in the Qurʾān and Sunnah. Students in the course combined the traditional tools of Qurʾānic studies with computational tools to discover, depict, and develop new insights into the scientific, cultural, and educational exegesis of the Qurʾān. Also, the present paper has attempted to shed light on how the various methods and approaches emerging under the umbrella of digital Islamic studies hold great promise for any undergraduate students, faculty, and independent researchers in academic programmes. Although several factors may explain the insufficiency of the integrated approach, the primary hindrance for undergraduates in the Malaysian context is plain to see: the scarcity of digital sources in Malay and English. While this impediment remains a constraint for all but a few undergraduates who have a reading knowledge of the Arabic language, the recent publication of several Malay and English translations of the Qurʾān and key exegeses has begun to open the door for digital Islamic studies projects in the teaching of non-specialist undergraduate context. Finally, it seems optimistic to advance the study of the Qurʾān introduced by scholars of our generation and earlier through these digital tools to make sure that they are preserved and practised for the future

A Systematic-Thematic Analysis on The Pattern of Research with regards to Maqāsid al-Sharīʿah in Islamic Finance
The study aims to investigate the pattern of the research with regard to maqāsid al-Sharīʿah in Islamic finance from the year 2015 until 2020. It is pertinent for the current pattern of research to be systematically and thematically analysed so that the identified research gap could be duly addressed. Regardless of the abundance of previous literature which discussed maqāsid al-Sharīʿah in general, to the best knowledge of the authors, there is no systematic-thematic review paper discussing the current literature pattern regarding maqāsid al-Sharīʿah in Islamic finance. This study focuses on English journals without denying the fact that maybe other literature in another language might as well exist. The ATLAS.ti software was used in analysing the data systematically and thematically via the matrix table, open network diagram and word cloud analysis. The methodology of this paper begins with the systematic screening process based on PRISMA subsequently followed by a thematic review approach. The screening process begins with the keyword search and inclusion criteria by using four databases namely Scopus, Emerald, Science Direct and Mendeley. The process has resulted in the identification of 104 indexed journals. However, the finalised items are 24 journals with 13 initial codes subsequently summarized into five main themes: Sharīʿah contracts, economics, Islamic banking, microfinance/ microcredit & Value Based Intermediation, Sustainable Development Goals and waqf. The analysis of results shows that the concentration areas are identified in waqf, Islamic economics and Islamic banking. Therefore, future research should further focus on the other segments such as technologies in the industrial revolution, takāful, Islamic capital market and Islamic social finance.

An Analysis of the Prophetic Traditions Concerning Women in Bisyāratul ‘Ᾱmilīn Wa Nadhāratul Ghāfilīn
This study aims to analyze the Prophetic traditions or hadiths concerning women found in a Malay work known as Bisyāratul ‘Āmilīn Wa Nadhāratul Ghāfilīn. It was written by Sheikh Ahmad al-Fatani, and its first edition was printed by Matba\u27ah al-Miriyyah in Mecca in 1887. It was also reprinted several times and was published in both Jawi and Romanized scripts. As an important book that contains religious teachings, there are many hadiths referred to by the author to support his arguments; however, not all hadiths were written in detail by clarifying their level of authenticity. By focusing on one chapter of this book, this study collects all the Prophetic traditions concerning women in that chapter and re-analyzes them based on the method of takhrīj hadith (grading and commentaries of hadith). The research method used is largely qualitative and consists of a textual approach and content analysis. The findings show different statuses of hadiths concerning women found in a chapter of this book. However, it does not indicate that the author has no awareness regarding this matter. The author might have his reason for including many different traditions related to the Prophet in this book
