Education is one of the most important tools in the upbringing of our younger generations. With the advancement in scientific research and technology, seeking knowledge, assembling literature, and attending smart classes have aided students largely. However, at the same time, the rapid growth of the technological and digitalized world has created havoc among the younger generations that are spending much time on the internet, social media and video gaming platforms provided by a massive number of smartphones. The large-scale consumption of these electronic devices has trapped individuals particularly the student communities in a new phase of the Metaverse. Although this digitalized phase has aided in the academic performances of the students, however, it has also brought many negative impacts like mental health issues, anxiety, insomnia, suicides, and drug abuse among students from primary schools up to the university level. The present study aims to provide an overview of internet and social media addiction among Muslim youth and potential approaches to regulate the overwhelming impacts on their health

One of the most important researches in the field of religions is to study their common points. The day of God is one of the common concepts mentioned in the three holy books, namely the Holy Bible and the Holy Qur\u27an. Perhaps the question arises for the believers that is there a day that is not the day of God? Is God\u27s power limited? Are God\u27s days limited? This article answers these questions. God\u27s days are days that have special characteristics such as devoting that day to the worship of the Lord, giving up work, the day of punishment of the wicked and the salvation of the righteous, the day of Christ\u27s return and the day of Judgment. In these three spiritual books, people have been told many times to prepare for God’s Day. Strive for salvation in that day because when that day suddenly happens then you can do nothing. In this article, all the texts of the Bible and the Qur\u27an have been examined and the issues related to the day of God have been interpreted thematically. The uses and examples of God’s Day are compared in the Bible and the Qur\u27an

    No full text
The research sheds light on a comparison between the provisions of the Bahraini Civil Law and the Sharia standards of the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) with regard to the most important provisions of the contract, such as the pillars of the contract and the form of the contract. The research aims to clarify the most important points of agreement and differences between the civil law and the Sharia standards in relation to Islamic financial transactions to identify the size of the gap between them, in preparation for conducting further studies in this regard due to the subjection of financial transactions applied in Islamic banks in the Kingdom of Bahrain to Sharia standards and civil law provisions. The research relied on the qualitative approach and comparative analytical description. The research concluded that there are many points of agreement between the two references and that the points of difference in the contract and the meeting are not essential, and the researcher recommends conducting more comparative studies between local laws and Sharia standards with regard to Islamic financial formulas and products and re-conducting a comprehensive study of Sharia standards to examine the gaps and weaknesses Through which Islamic banks and their contracts may be affected, the researcher also recommends that the (AAOIFI) Institutions issue sharia standards for contract theory, contract foundations and what is related to it, and to refer in the civil law to the reference of Islamic banks to the sharia standards affiliated with (AAOIFI).

Forest Offences in Protected Areas: An Appraisal to Maqasid Shariah in Federal and State Government Relationship

Forest encroachment and illegal logging are statutorily recognised as forest offences under several forest-related acts. This is significant in a way it can mitigate the adverse loss of major biodiversity, forest environment quality and forest-dependent livelihood. Forest offences and wildlife crime are found to take place within the protected area, i.e., permanent reserve forests (PRF), national parks, sanctuaries and state land forests. This article adopts a qualitative method by using doctrinal research. Related forest legislation, statistical data on forest offences, wildlife crimes and literature are analysed to find gaps in the current statutory protection of the forest environment. Forest can be found listed under List II (State List) and List III (Concurrent List) in the Ninth Schedule of the Federal Constitution of Malaysia. Due to this fragmentation of jurisdiction of the law-making power, the forest is governed by different laws and agencies. Thus, the dynamic relationship between state and federal government is significant in ensuring forests that are home to thousands of species of biodiversity, flora and fauna are safeguarded and protected for future generations to cherish. From the Islamic perspective, the protection of the environment particularly forests contributes towards fulfilling Maqasid Shariah (the higher objectives of Shariah). Besides, for the interest of the ummah, Maqasid Shariah encourages a good relationship between the federal and state governments

Religious Impact On Wood-Carving In Malay Traditional Houses: A Typological Study

    No full text
Wood carving is a common trait seen in a Malay traditional house. Different types of wood carvings can be found in a Malay house based on the owners\u27 status, wealth, culture, and religion. After Islam was introduced to Malaysia and became the main principle and guide for the people, they began to adopt Islamic values in their daily lives, including the illustration of the wood carvings. These beautiful wood-carving motifs were designed as a symbol of obedience toward a higher power. Unfortunately, over time wood carving has been neglected and is no longer a popular trend, leading to abandonment and ruins. Without proper acknowledgement, total loss of heritage and identity may happen. Hence, by employing qualitative methods such as literature review and observational study on selected heritage houses, the researchers managed to identify the typology of wood carvings in Malay traditional houses. The findings showed a wide variety of wood carvings based on the different placements in the traditional house. The motifs used during those times were floral, geometric, and calligraphy. Understanding the motifs would be a good start before introducing them to the public and educating them on the importance of conserving these motifs for future generations
