    Alkohol: Definisi, Pengharaman, Metabolisme Dan Kegunaannya: [Alcohol: Definition, Prohibition, Metabolism and Its Usage]

    Alcohol is an important organic compound which contains the functional group hydroxyl (-OH). It has many uses, but when talking about alcohol, we often classify all types of alcohol as forbidden in Islam. The term liquor or wine and alcohol give a different meaning and they must be understood. The banned alcohol is ethanol, which is one of the ingredients in alcoholic beverages. Therefore, this article is written to discuss which consumption of alcohol is allowed in Islam and which is forbidden. There is a broad discussion among fuqaha of alcohol consumption in the various branches that must be understood by the public so that misconceptions about alcohol can be eliminated. The study of literature through readings of journal, Al-Quran and reason why the verses are revealed, has been carried out to find out about the actual meaning of alcohol and its production, history and wisdom of alcohol (liquor prohibition) in Islamic law, the effects of alcohol on the human body and application as well as issues related to alcohol used in everyday life. Alcohol, ie ethanol, can be produced by two methods which is fermentation and the reaction of ethene with steam. Prohibition of alcohol (liquor) is gradually, has its own reason among them are, to show to people that alcohol can also be benefial. Alcohol consumption can damage the human body, affecting the brain and the ability to think, the risk of liver damage or cirrhosis and increase the risk of cancer. In addition, people need to understand issues related to alcohol usage in the food industry, in the manufacture of perfumes, in medicines and as fuel to become more appreciative since alcohol is one of the valuable organic compounds. Abstrak Alkohol merupakan suatu sebatian organik yang mengandungi kumpulan berfungsi hidroksi (-OH). Ia mempunyai pelbagai kegunaan dan manfaat namun apabila bercakap tentang alkohol, kita sering mengklasifikasikan semua jenis alkohol itu sebagai haram. Istilah arak atau khamr dan alkohol sebenarnya memberi pengertian yang berbeza dan maksud keduanya harus difahami. Alkohol yang diharamkan adalah etanol yang menjadi salah satu bahan dalam arak. Justeru, artikel ini ditulis bagi membincangkan perbezaan antara penggunaan alkohol yang dibolehkan dalam Islam dan yang diharamkan dalam Islam. Sebenarnya, terdapat perbincangan yang luas di antara para fuqaha tentang penggunaan alkohol dalam pelbagai cabang sesuai dengan perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan terutamanya bidang sains dan teknologi. Kajian kepustakaan melalui pembacaan jurnal, tafsir Al-Quran dan sebab diturunkan ayat tersebut, telah dijalankan bagi mengetahui tentang maksud sebenar alkohol dan penghasilannya, sejarah dan hikmah pengharaman alkohol (arak) dalam syariat Islam, kesan pengambilan alkohol terhadap tubuh manusia dan kegunaan serta isu-isu berkaitan dengan penggunaan alkohol dalam kehidupan seharian. Alkohol iaitu etanol, boleh dihasilkan melalui dua kaedah iaitu fermentasi dan tindak balas etena dengan stim. Pengharaman alkohol (arak) dalam syariat Islam adalah secara berperingkat dan ia mempunyai hikmahnya yang tersendiri antaranya bagi menunjukkan kepada manusia bahawa alkohol juga boleh dimanfaatkan dalam kehidupan. Pengambilan alkohol sebagai minuman boleh merosakkan sistem tubuh manusia, memberi kesan ke atas otak dan kebolehan berfikir, risiko kerosakan hati atau sirosis dan meningkatkan risiko kanser. Selain itu, masyarakat perlu memahami isu-isu berkaitan penggunaan alkohol dalam industri makanan, pembuatan minyak wangi, perubatan dan sebagai bahan api supaya lebih menghargai alkohol sebagai salah satu sebatian organik yang bernilai.&nbsp

    Creativity and Innovation: Practices Amongst Students of a Product Development Competition

    The purpose of this paper is to investigate the state of creativity and innovation on product development among students who participated in the Islamic Innovation Student Competition (i-REKA) 2017 at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). The study employed the quantitative approach through a survey instrument design. Data were collected using questionnaires, and the constructs used were developed from prior research and previously tested for reliability. A total of 147 questionnaires were analyzed from the respondents in this study. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze the characteristics of the respondents including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, while the multivariate technique that was employed was regression. The findings revealed that significant relationships exist between the state of creativity and innovation among students of products development competition. These findings may provide a distinctive perspective on the concept of creativity and innovation and its necessity in the Islamic educational system for the contemporary modern era

    Pendekatan Tawhidik Di Dalam Tatakelola Kerajaan Yang Baik (Good Governance): Satu Analisa Konsepsual: [Tawhidic Approach in Government Good Governance: A Conceptual Analysis]

    While ‘Good Governance’ agenda as introduced by the World Bank in 1989 is a result of conventional developmental theories and represents the contemporary kernel of truth on how to develop, hence becoming a fad du jour of many. It has since then become a means for any government to improve its governance and administration and was similarly used by the oppositions in certain countries to bring their government into accountability. The aim of this paper is to explore and analyze the Islamic foundation principles and values underpinning the field of governance in an attempt to construct a new systemic articulation of ‘Islamic governance’. This discursive and abstract, rather than being an empirical exercise, assumes to produce a ‘good governance’ framework within its own formulation through a value-shaped dynamic model according to the principle of Tawhid (unity of God), justice (‘adl) and maqasid al-Shari’ah (higher objective of Shari’ah) by going beyond the narrow remit of classical and contemporary discussions produced on the topic, which propose a certain institutional model of governance based on the classical juristic (fiqh) method. Abstrak Good Governance, ataupun yang diterjemahkan ke Bahasa Melayu sebagai tatakelola kerajaan yang baik, atau tadbirurus yang baik merupakan satu konsep yang amat popular dewasa ini. Semenjak konsep tersebut dipopularkan oleh Bank Dunia pada tahun 1989, sehingga kini, ia terus menjadi fad du jour (trend ikutan hari ini) oleh ramai pihak. Tatakelola dilihat sebagai satu kemestian bagi setiap kerajaan di dunia. Ia menjadi tema bagi pihak kerajaan yang ada untuk memperbaiki mutu pemerintahan dan pentadbiran mereka, dan juga menjadi senjata bagi pihak pembangkang di peringkat antarabangsa untuk mengkoreksi dan juga menilai kerajaan yang sedia ada. Persoalannya, apakah sikap Islam terhadap konsep tersebut? Dan apakah di dalam ajaran Islam terdapat juga konsep seumpamanya memandangkan Islam merupakan satu ajaran yang komprehensif yang mencakupi bidang keakhiratan dan juga bidang keduniaan?     Family management conflict in resolving the estate becoming increasingly critical and can achieve a level of concern if not addressed properly. A case of successive deaths in faraid is part of a complex and difficult conditions for the governed because it involves the death of layered beneficiaries. A network of death in a family inheritance is part of the implications if the first deceased\u27s estate is not postponed for solutions. In this regard, fiqh al-mirath (Islamic law of inheritance) has set the approach of al-munasakhah as a formula for those who are entitled. The approach of al-munasakhah is an important recommendation in the completion of distribution of inheritance involving cases of successive deaths. This article aims to explain the diversity of successive deaths in faraid and approach of al-munasakhah used in resolving such cases. Focus will be given to cases solution through al-Shafii sect according to the perspective that is based on the records and documentation works in selected references. This description shows the interest of al-munasakhah is as a form of calculation and settlement to a conflict case faraid distribution to the heirs. This is due to fact that more beneficiaries will increase the difficulty in solving faraid cases. In addition, this approach proved the comprehensiveness of the law of inheritance in Islam where estates need to be solved and not to be left idle and frozen without benefit. Abstrak Kemelut pengurusan keluarga dalam menyelesaikan harta pusaka semakin kritikal dan boleh mencapai tahap membimbangkan jika tidak ditangani dengan baik. Kes faraid berangkai merupakan sebahagian kondisi yang kompleks dan sukar untuk ditadbir kerana membabitkan kematian berlapis daripada kalangan waris yang berhak. Rangkaian beberapa kematian dalam sesebuah keluarga yang mempunyai hubugan pewarisan merupakan sebahagian implikasi sekiranya harta pusaka si mati yang pertama tidak ditangguhkan penyelesaiannya. Dalam hal ini, perundangan fiqh al-mirath menetapkan pendekatan al-munasakhah sebagai satu formula faraid yang lengkap untuk memberi hak kepada mereka yang berhak. Pendekatan al-munasakhah ini merupakan satu saranan penting dalam melengkapkan bentuk agihan faraid yang melibatkan kes faraid berangkai. Makalah ini bertujuan menerangkan kepelbagaian kes faraid berangkai yang berlaku disebabkan kematian individu yang mempunyai hubungan pewarisan dan pendekatan al-munasakhah yang digunakan dalam menyelesaikan kes-kes tersebut. Tumpuan akan diberikan kepada kes faraid berangkai dan bentuk penyelesaian melalui pendekatan al-munasakhah menurut perspektif mazhab Syafie iaitu berdasarkan rekod dan dokumentasi karya fiqh terpilih mazhab tersebut. Huraian ini memperlihatkan kepentingan pengiraan al-munasakhah ialah sebagai satu bentuk pengiraan dan penyelesai kepada konflik kes faraid berangkai dengan menentukan agihan yang tepat kepada waris yang masih hidup. Hal ini kerana, semakin ramai waris akan menyebabkan kesukaran semakin bertambah untuk menyelesaikan sesuatu kes harta pusaka. Selain itu, pendekatan ini memperlihat sebahagian bukti kesyumulan perundangan pusaka dalam Islam iaitu harta pusaka perlu diselesaikan agihannya hingga selesai, tidak dibiarkan beku dan terbiar tanpa dimanfaatkan

    This paper analyzes the emergence of a popular magazine in Indonesia, i.e., D\u27RISE which is quite sought after by muslim teenagers in Sukabumi Indonesia and some other areas. The presence of this magazine is factored by the angst against the secularization of popular culture that threatens the religious values of the teenagers in Indonesia. This study is conducted to examine whether the magazine representing a form of da’wah through writing or it has other relevance elements against popular culture and ideological reasons. This study combines empirical and theoretical data. The result of this study has found that: First, the concept of popular culture magazine D\u27rise is shown through the cover design, style and material language magazine which reflects popular culture. Second, the magazine D\u27rise created the piety of it’s readers with a touch of popular culture.     Phenomenological Study of Shariah-Compliant Films as Da’wah Medium

    The discussion of Shariah compliance in film provides the opportunity for the delivery of the message of da’wah (Islamic evangelism) through filmart. Nevertheless, the term sharia compliance in the film field is a newly discussed matter compared to sharia compliance in the banking system. Therefore, this study aims to analyze film audience’s perception towards the concept of sharia compliance. This study also examined the role of sharia compliance film as the medium of da’wah. It employed the phenomenology design that involved sampling with the aims to obtain study respondents. The 10 samples were UKM undergraduate and postgraduate Muslim students who like watching Malay films. The data were collected via focussed group discussion. This study employed constant comparative analysis in comparing data that convey meaning in answering the questions and objectives of the study. The findings showed that from the audience’s perception regarding sharia compliance, there were two categories of audience, which are negotiated reading and oppositional reading in interpreting meaning. The findings stated the respondents’ perception regarding the concept of sharia compliance that was discussed - ‘’Actions in film, socializing limit...the acting should preserve them but not too stiff...for example the scene where husband and wife sleeping together on a bed should be avoided. Frankly, the absent of such scene does not flaw the film.’’ The findings also found that the respondents agreed with the role of sharia compliance film as the medium of da’wah.     The question language style that used the plant’s elements is one of the language styles that consist in the Quran. The use of the plant’s elements in the language style at the same time touches the aspect of the psychology and education. The psychological element is referring to the use of the Quran verses in which the context can give positive effects on the person’s soul and spiritual. Whereas the education element is referring to the context by which the Quran discourses are used to educate human with the values from the language. This study look into the role of psychological and educational elements in the language style of the Al-Qur’an and their effectiveness in convening messages to man. The focus of this research is to study the discourse analysis and the rhetoric of Arab. The data was collected qualitatively using two different methods; the historical method and the documentary method. Both methods are carried out using the library research. The data is anticipated to give a clear understanding of the two elements of psychology and education in the question language style of the Quran. Additionally, they are also used to give a clear understanding of the Quran content and prove that the Quran is a divine revelation from Allah and show the beauty of its language. Abstrak Gaya bahasa pertanyaan yang menggunakan unsur tumbuh-tumbuhan adalah antara jenis gaya bahasa pertanyaan yang terdapat dalam Al-Qur’an. Penggunaan unsur tumbuh-tumbuhan dalam gaya bahasa ini secara tidak langsung turut menyentuh perbincangan dalam aspek psikologi dan tarbiyyah. Unsur psikologi merujuk kepada konteks penggunaan ayat Al-Qur’an yang dapat memberi kesan positif terhadap jiwa manusia. Manakala unsur tarbiyyah pula merujuk kepada konteks penggunaan ayat Al-Qur’an dalam mendidik manusia dengan menggunakan nilai kesantunan bahasa. Kajian ini melihat peranan unsur psikologi dan unsur tarbiyyah dalam gaya bahasa Al-Qur’an dan kesannya terhadap penyampaian mesej kepada manusia. Fokus perbincangan adalah dalam bidang analisis wacana dan al-Balaghat al-‘Arabiyyat. Kajian ini menggunakan metode historis dan metode dokumentari yang mengaplikasikan kaedah pengumpulan data secara kualitatif. Data menunjukkan bahawa elemen psikologi dan tarbiyyah yang terdapat dalam gaya bahasa pertanyaan tumbuh-tumbuhan dalam Al-Qur’an berperanan untuk memberi kefahaman yang jelas tentang isi kandungan Al-Qur’an di samping memaparkan aspek ketinggian dan kehalusan gaya bahasa Al-Qur’an

    Malik Bennabi is a scholar of civilizaton from the Muslim world that shades the intellectual world in the 20th century. His reputation in the field of civilization is recognized by other scholars during and after his lifetime, either from the Eastern or Western world based on his relevant ideas about the theory of civilization. His thought of civilization emphasizes the elements of human and humanity which indirectly focuses on social and socialization aspect. Based on qualitative method, full library research which appplied the textual analysis for the analysis of Bennabi’s thought is used. Hence, this article describes the role of social institution from the perspectives of human civilization. The discussion emphasizes the theory of social and the importance of this institution in the development of civilization. The emphasis focuses on the role of social institution as a catalyst of intellectualization. The reason is, human being as the element of civilization have an important role either to develop or destroy their own civilization. It is closely related to intellectual value that has developed within oneself, and realistically influenced by education or individual/ social in their surroundings. Abstrak Malik Bennabi merupakan seorang tokoh wacana peradaban dari dunia Islam yang mewarnai dunia keintelektualan pada abad ke-20. Ketokohan beliau dalam bidang peradaban diakui rakan sesarjana semasa dan selepas hayatnya sama ada dari dunia Timur mahupun Barat berdasarkan kerelevenan ideanya tentang teori kitaran peradaban. Pemikiran peradabannya menekankan elemen manusia dan kemanusiaan yang secara tidak langsung memfokuskan secara khusus terhadap aspek masyarakat dan kemasyarakatan. Dengan menggunakan kajian kepustakaan sepenuhnya, analisis tekstual hasil garapan Bennabi akan diperhalusi dengan serincinya. Untuk itu, kajian ini diusahakan dalam meneliti secara khusus mengenai peranan institusi masyarakat pada sisi peradaban manusia. Konteks perbincangan yang ditekankan dalam kertas kerja ini ialah teori masyarakat serta nilai pentingnya institusi tersebut kepada pembangunan peradaban dari perspektif Bennabi. Pemfokusan tersebut menjurus kepada kepentingan masyarakat sebagai sebuah institusi yang menjadi nadi penggerak serta berfungsi sebagai katalis keintelektualan. Ini kerana manusia sebagai insan berperadaban berperanan penting sama ada dalam usaha membangunkan peradabannya, atau pun sebaliknya. Ia berkait rapat dengan nilai intelek yang terbentuk dalam diri, secara realistiknya dipengaruhi oleh pendidikan reseptifnya, atau pengaruh individu atau masyarakat di persekitarannya
