    Anomalous resistance and its effect on neutron yield production in Mather type dense plasma focus devices

    Fusion energy as a source of sustainable energy is a topic of much interest. The creation of fusion energy and neutron yield during pinching is studied in this paper with the aid of dense plasma focus machine and the Lee codes. Three different dense plasma machines namely PF 400, DPF 2.2 and India's- Assam plasma focus machine is studied by analysing the current waveforms. It was found that in machines with regular current dip, most of the fusion energy and neutron yield is released during the pinching process, whereas those with extended dip, the remnant inductive energy transferred to the instabilities releases extra neutrons and energy from the magnetic field after the normal pinch

    A Preliminary Study on the Potential of Virtual Reality Therapy in Reducing Public Speaking Anxiety

    This study probes on the potentials of Virtual Reality Therapy (VRT) to overcome glossophobia in the context of online classes. To achieve the objective, this study employs experimental design in which students who are enrolled in an online public speaking course were grouped into two: Experimental and control group. The experimental group experienced three sessions of VRT throughout the semester whereas the control group did not. After the end of the course, the descriptive analysis findings suggest that the rate of change for the experimental group was -17% in comparison with the control group -4%. This indicates that the experimental group had decreased their public speaking anxiety four times more than the control group; hence suggesting that VRT has helped to reduce the anxiety in public speaking. All in all, this study foreshadows the great potential of VRT in the education and communication field

    Fuzzy subtractive clustering (FSC) with exponential membership function for heart failure disease clustering

    Objective: Fuzzy clustering algorithm is a partition method used to assign objects from a data set to a cluster by marking the average location. Furthermore, Fuzzy Subtractive Clustering (FSC) with hamming distance and exponential membership function is used to analyze the cluster center of a data point. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to determine the number of clusters with the best quality by comparing the Partition Coefficient (PC) values for each number produced. Methods: The data set which is heart failure patient data is 150 data obtained from UCI Machine Learning. The data consists of 11 variables, including age , anemia , creatinine phosphokinase , diabetes ejection fraction , high blood pressure , platelets , serum creatinine , serum sodium , gender , and smoke . It simulated and processed using Fuzzy Subtractive Clustering Algorithm, Jupyter Notebook Software with Python programming language. Result: The results showed that the most optimal number of clusters is 3, which are selected based on the largest PC value. Conclusion: Based on the results obtained, the highest P value is in cluster 3, therefore heart failure can be grouped into 3, namely low, moderate, severe

    The diagnostic method of Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) consists of inspection, smelling, listening, inquiry, pulse taking and palpation. Among these, tongue diagnosis from the TCM inspection diagnosis has become one of the most important elements especially during the COVID-19 pandemic period, where TCM physicians diagnose based on tongue inspection through online consultation. This is a preliminary study and objective of this research is to review on the changes of the tongue condition correspondence with the five visceral organs disease and analyse about the tongue diagnosis for enhancing the ability of physicians to differentiate the tongue images effectively. The research data were collected by searching the keywords in China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) and PubMed from year 2000 to 2021. By choosing the journal articles that analysed tongue diagnosis only in diagnosing the diseases and excluding articles that analysed with the pulse taking or other diagnostic methods. The results showed that different stages of disease are having different manifestation of tongue condition, which reflected with the changes of the pathogenic factor in visceral organs. In conclusion, through the guidance of TCM tongue diagnosis method with the assists of digital technology, it will be performing a huge database to establish a more comprehensive tongue diagnosis theory and unified the diagnostic criteria in a more objective view

    Potential Study of Applying Traffic Congestion Index to Simulate Property Price Changes

    Urban congestion issue is considered as part of major issues that affects the urban development progress and also the living qualities. One of the impacts is reducing the properties prices due to demolishing in property values. This paper provides an insight onto the possibility to simulate the changes of property prices due to variation in different traffic congestion conditions. Firstly, a number of discussions are conducted onto lack of proper analysis tool in assessing the relationship between the extent of urban traffic congestion condition and the fluctuations of property prices in urban areas. Secondly, the aim of this paper is to simulate and generate a modelling framework in order to fill up the niche areas in order to justify the validation of this tool in analyzing the implication of urban traffic congestions onto the changes of property prices. In order to ensure the research work can be implemented, thus a combination of traffic congestion data and property price data which are further integrated using Overlay Mapping Method by referring to i-PLAN, and outcomes are further evaluated through correlation analysis and hypothesis testing. Based on these research inputs, it is thus estimated that generated outputs in index format is able to provide an important guideline for the further developer in making their decisions to acquire property for development

    Developing Organizational Citizenship Behaviour: Organizational Climate and Leader-Member Exchange Effects

    Supervisory behaviour has influenced a better working climate, which has led to the employees' desire to achieve a favourable outcome for the business involved. If the leaders do not contribute constructive behaviour, the staff may desire a poor outcome. Banks were chosen because they participate in a high-quality endeavour to build leader-member exchange relationships among workers. By examining employees' citizenship behaviour, the findings of this study could be used to improve the quality of leader-member exchange and the work environment. An effective organizational climate must incorporate the leader-member exchange strategy to improve employees' working environments, leaders-followers relationships, and employees' citizenship behaviour. The importance of this study is to determine that organizational climate is a visible value that has been in existent within the employee's behaviour and action. This study aims to assess the mediating role of the organizational climate on the relationship between leader-member exchanges on organizational citizenship behaviour. Reviewing underpinning theories based on underlying concepts, theoretical background, current definitions, and various types of collaborative writing gathered from the educational setting resulted in a theoretical framework. The quantitative and purposive sampling methods have been used to achieve the research questions and hypothesis. Samples were taken that amounted to 384 respondents in the commercial banks, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Descriptive statistics analysed the variables, correlation and Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) using IBM Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) and SMART PLS 3. Findings of this study reveal that organizational climate has a positive relationship with significant levels on the leader-member exchange and organizational citizenship behaviour. This study suggests that it be pursued further in the Asian and Western contexts due to the development of organizational citizenship behaviour. Because it is fundamental for many organizations to develop their company profile to achieve good changes so that human resource management is strategized in the hiring and retaining system for highly committed employees to organization

    THE ECOLOGY OF NATIONAL INFORMATION POLICY IN NIGERIA

    The ecology of information technology policy in Nigeria is about the operating environmental reality of National Information Technology Policy in Nigeria. This has remained a turbulent one, mainly due to initial inexistence of coordinated Information Technology Policy in Nigeria, and later, a worrisome transition to a regime of multiple uncordinated and piece-meal regime of various IT policies. More often than not, these various IT policies are distorted with political regime change. Information is vital to national development as its use has grown from being an intangible resources for social development to a strategic tool in most instances; the need for a well mapped out regime is vital. Following critical content review of secondary data, this paper investigated the ecology of information technology policy in Nigeria. It found that while there was an initial vacuum in information policy regime in Nigeria, the country has grown to having critical hiccups in information policy articulation. First there are pockets of unsynchronized information policies being floated by different political dispensations as well as ministries of government. These different information policies are not coalesced into a single policy document applying to different aspects of information needs and use. More so, information professionals are short of commitment in terms of floating a formidable and unified thinktank group in the area of information policy administration. The paper concluded that information technology policy is vital for proper harnessing of information resources in Nigeria, and therefore recommends the standardization of information policy beyond the political regime distortions in Nigeria, while at the same time calling on information professionals to step to the center stage in sharpening the administration of information (technology) policy in Nigeria

    Effect of Pot Size in Soil Heat Transfer

    Climate change occurring globally has caused many effects in the current world, such as the rise of sea level, unstable weather, and rise of temperature. Agriculture is among the sector that is affected and since the past few decades’ methods such as controlled environment greenhouses and the hydroponic cultivation has become an alternative to outdoor farming due to the benefits of increased yield and higher efficiency. This study shows that greenhouses design requires various cooling methods such as shading, venting, evaporative cooling, and soil cooling. The soil cooling provide a heat transfer analysis of soil cooling in different pot size and design to contribute related data to encourage further studies. Simulations of a soil cooling system repeated with different pot size under different parameters were conducted; the simulation results were validated and verified with mathematical models and existing data. It is found that smaller pot size has a higher rate of heat conduction in soil due to its higher surface to volume ratio

    Virtual On-Premise Shopping System with Face Recognition Authentication

    This project aims to develop a modern, convenient, and secure virtual on-premise shopping system to promote efficient shopping with minimal waste. The system provides users with the ability to shop and pick up purchased items with minimal effort, which is particularly helpful for elders who are unable to carry heavy items for long periods. This system consists of an E-catalogue to enable product browsing, as well as a mobile app to enable the shopping process. With the proposed system, consumers are only required to sign up for an account to begin the process. After a topup, consumers can simply start adding items to their virtual shopping cart by scanning any QR code on the E-catalogue. To ensure account and data security, consumers can simply opt-in face recognition upon signing up to enable two-factor authentication (2FA) to ensure that account security is not compromised. With the admin panel in place, the relevant staff will be able to easily modify item prices, and categories, manage stock and create purchase orders. Furthermore, the packaging department will be able to take advantage of the system to keep track of consumers’ purchased items and notify consumers upon the completion of the packaging process

    Sheet C1 Pattern Number Recognition Using Artificial Immune System Optimization

    When the general election is held in Indonesia, Sheet C1 serves as a record of the results of vote counting at each polling location (TPS). Human error makes it difficult to enter accurate vote data during the recapitulation phase, where the number of votes is a crucial piece of information for the conduct of general elections. The problem was that the KPPS (Voting Committee Group) failed to clearly write the legitimate vote acquisition for each TPS on sheet C1, which caused difficulty for the KPU employees when entering the data. In order to recognize the numerical patterns on sheet C1, we, therefore, require a method that uses the Artificial Immune System (AIS), specifically the CSA (Clonal Selection Algorithm) algorithm, which is one of the AIS system's algorithms for optimization. The CSA method will be used in this research to accomplish number pattern recognition and to examine the operation of number pattern character recognition
