Religia a polityka w świetle teorii mimetycznej
René Girard, the French-American literary critic and anthropologist, gives us the mimetic theory, which turns out to be an interesting tool for the interpretation of human relationships. It is based on the analysis of works of the world literature, including myths and the Bible. As a part of human nature mimesis leads to a conflict and at the same time it saves through a scapegoat. This is reflected in religious rituals, which are the first human institutions leading directly to a political institution – to the monarchy. The reality of the victim is firmly anchored in human culture, including the contemporary, despite the fact that it does not see this. This applies to all circles of civilization, including the West. Polityczne aspekty sporu o status Macedońskiej Cerkwi Prawosławnej (MCP) (1991–2014)
The dispute about the autocephaly of the Macedonian Orthodox Church (MOC), one of the questions within the discourse on the Macedonian national identity since 1967, gained new significance after 1991, as a consequence of the political emancipation of the Republic of Macedonia (RM). This issue is strongly associated with other concerns, such as the country’s internal integration and the struggle to strengthen its sovereignty. In order to support the MOC the authorities attempt to rally the ethnic Macedonians around the idea of national independence and diminish the influences of other Orthodox Churches on the followers of this denomination in RM. Year 2002 saw the failure of the religious consultation and an imminent schism within MOC. It prompted the authorities to act as a guarantor of the undivided jurisdiction of the MOC over the country’s entire territory. This course of action resulted in worsening of the relations with the neighboring Orthodox Christian countries, since the governments cooperate with their respective Churches to contest the independence of MOC. Moreover, since 2002 the issue of MOC’s status is frequently presented within the context of accusations against the RM’s authorities of breaching the civil and religious rights. The dispute about the autocephaly of the Macedonian Orthodox Church (MOC), one of the questions within the discourse on the Macedonian national identity since 1967, gained new significance after 1991, as a consequence of the political emancipation of the Republic of Macedonia (RM). Tradycje religijne w czeskim dyskursie tożsamościowym okresu międzywojennego
The main purpose of the article is to find the answer, how two different religious traditions (reformative and catholic) influenced the process of building of historical consciousness of secular Czech society in the interwar period. During the first years of the independent Czechoslovakia existence, a typical phenomenon was a domination of the hussite historical reminiscences, which culminated in the year 1925, during the national celebration of the 510 anniversary of Jan Hus’ death. In the same time, it was possible to notice voices, which were questioning an asymmetric construction of historical consciousness and emphasizing necessity of ‘extracting’ also from other historical traditions. The opportunity to merge two main Czech spiritual traditions occured in the year 1929, when not only Catholic Church, but also Czechoslovak state organised Saint Wenceslas Millennium celebration. ‘Over-confession’ and ‘over-ethnical’ meaning of state parts of celebration should be considered as the successful change of unequal paradigm of historical consciousness, as well as the beginning of gradual process changing Czech society from the community defined in the ethnical-language way into civic societyThe main purpose of the article is to find the answer, how two different religious traditions (reformative and catholic) influenced the process of building of historical consciousness of secular Czech society in the interwar period. Modlitwy za Ukrainę i o pokój „w czas próby i rozdziału”
Based upon web-published materials, the article analyzes the eulogies composed in the Church Slavonic and Ukrainian languages, which have arisen following Kiev’s Maidan and its subsequent developments in the period December 2013 – December 2014. The texts under analysis come from Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate and from the Patriarchate of Moscow itself, from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kiev Patriarchate and some other texts. Initiatives from the laity are also taken in account (e.g. Ruslana Lyžyčko). The prayers under analysis show historical and political influences. In the Muscovite texts and in Patriarch Kirill’s statements, the attempt to impose the idea of a Russian Commonwealth (Russkij mir) is quite evident. This idea is based upon the unity and brotherhood of a people united by the christening of the Prince St. Vladimir. There are also charges brought against Greek Catholics and non-canonical Churches. The texts composed in Ukraine are either more decisively patriotic and anti-muscovite, with statements backing the European project (the Kiev Patriarchate Ukrainian Orthodox Church), or more religious in general terms, with a plea for fundamental Christian values and declarations of loyalty towards the State (the Moscow Patriarchate Ukrainian Orthodox Church).Based upon web-published materials, the article analyzes the eulogies composed in the Church Slavonic and Ukrainian languages, which have arisen following Kiev’s Maidan and its subsequent developments in the period December 2013 – December 2014. The aim of the study is to answer the question what the postmodern melancholy is and how it manifests itself through emotions in contemporary works of selected Croatian poets: Božica Zoko, Marijana Radmilović and Tea Gikić. Stylizacja – pomysł na reaktywację śląszczyzny
In the article, the status of the Silesian ethnolanguage is shortly discussed. The opinions of two groups writing about this topic are presented: those writing from the perspective of the detailed linguistics (historical) and those writing from the perspective of the general linguistics. The author mentions also about the social, legal, and political background that creates the status of ethnolanguages in the contemporary political-legal situation of Europe. Basing on these, the author analyzes publications of the recent 25 years, which belong to popular scientific writings and belles-lettres. She exposes their role in raising of the prestige of the Silesian ethnolanguage. In the article, the status of the Silesian ethnolanguage is shortly discussed.
