    Ekokritika i geopoetika: ekopsihološki pejzaži

Based on comparative research on ecocriticism and geopoetics ( Kenneth White) as two theoretical discourses concerning the relationship between literature and environment, the aim of this paper is to explore the connection between literary landscapes and their psychological foundation. Ecocriticism, as a dynamic, complex, and sometimes inconsistent system of thinking about nature and literature, can be enriched byWhite’s geopoetics, which has not only a theoretical but also an important practical dimension. A question of landscape in art is viewed, through these theoretical positions, as one of the crucial moments for personal and collective human self-identification in environment.Based on comparative research on ecocriticism and geopoetics ( Kenneth White) as two theoretical discourses concerning the relationship between literature and environment, the aim of this paper is to explore the connection between literary landscapes and their psychological foundation. The paper aims to explore the harmonious relations between man and nature, in terms of ecopsychology, representing a solutionfor pointless/deviant discussions in the field of post- and transhumanism, especially in the abnormal period of the pandemic. According to the author, the establishment of harmony is primarily contained in the “moderation” of the senses and the ratio through intuitive knowledge. The establishment of several patterns of harmony will be considered through Honeyland ( 2019 ), the poetry of Koneski, and the eco analysis of Miljovska. The paper will examine the intuitive human abilityto establish this harmony, seen as a process of creating cosmic balance. The analyzed works manifest the harmonious relationship: human—biotope, principles of “eco-cosmos” of the local man.The paper aims to explore the harmonious relations between man and nature, in terms of ecopsychology, representing a solutionfor pointless/deviant discussions in the field of post- and transhumanism, especially in the abnormal period of the pandemic. The main subject of the review is Mykola Ilnytskyi’s book Reading and Re-reading…, which is very important research on Ukrainian literature in contemporary humanities. The book includes four chapters in all of which fundamental interests of the researcher are described. Mykola Ilnytskyi reviews the classic texts of Taras Shevchenko, Ivan Franko ( chapter 1 ), and the literature of the first part of the 20th century ( chapter 2 ), as well as contemporary texts ( chapters 3, 4 ). This book is not an extensive view of the history of literature of the 20th century. Its main peculiarity is the delivery of important fragments and episodes of literary history. The essays combine a liberal understanding of the subject and an unobtrusive interpretation of the texts, which reflects the unique ethical culture of the researcher. Mykola Ilnytskyi is clearly aware of the multiplicity of meanings offered byfiction, and therefore does not insist on his own right to the truth, but only offers well-founded and personally verified versions of literary plots. The main subject of the review is Mykola Ilnytskyi’s book Reading and Re-reading…, which is very important research on Ukrainian literature in contemporary humanities. The Motif of Nature in Early Russian Soviet Utopian and Dystopian Novels

In this paper the most important works of Russian-Soviet literary utopia and dystopia have been analysed to investigate the role of nature. In literary utopias, people and their needs are the measure of all things, and the image of a utopian future is the vision of a nature so subdued that the need to eat and sleep have been subdued as well. Yet authors, such as Chayanov, emphasise the importance of a coexistence with nature. Dystopian authors ( Platonov and Zamyatin ) see the meaning of nature symbolically. They see nature not only as an unconquerable force, but also as a force entirely impermissible to defeat and that should not be defeated: for Platonov and Zamyatin nature is the eternal source of all that is to come.In this paper the most important works of Russian-Soviet literary utopia and dystopia have been analysed to investigate the role of nature. Full text link
This article examines diverse travel narratives about steamship voyages to Asia in the first two decades after the opening of the Suez Canal, with special focus on journeys through the Suez Canal, Red Sea, and Indian Ocean. Sources include Polish, Serbian and Russian authors: Julian Fałat, Vlado Ivelić, Lucjan Jurkiewicz, Milan Jovanović, Vsevolod Krestovskiy, Karol Lanckoroński, Bronisław Piłsudski, Paweł Sapieha, Henryk Sienkiewicz, Ivan Yuvachev, Hugo Zapałowicz, and Ivan Zarubin. Given this variety of sources, consisting of 12 accounts in 3 languages, written by different types of travellers with dissimilar social backgrounds, it is possible to demonstrate a variety of phenomena that may be associated with steamship voyages. The two main issues examined here are: 1) the coexistence of multiple mobilities in the era of steam power, 2) different experiences of time while voyaging

Georgiego Gospodinowa zmagania z kategorią czasu w dobie kryzysu

The article is devoted to a reflection on the category of time in Georgi Gospodinov’s novel Vremeubežiŝte (2020), where the author undertakes a reflection on the processes of culpable and non-culpable self-destruction of societies that have rejected the rules of Enlightenment rationalism. Using the tools of dystopia, he creates a world gripped by collective madness, the sources of which he derives from extra-literary reality and links to contemporary political and cultural processes. Leszek Kolakowski’s concept of time as the vault of the human home, which is based on four pillars: reason, God, love, death, remains the philosophical point of reference for my deliberations. In turn, the concept of retroutopia of the sociologist of culture Zygmunt Bauman provided me with tools to reflect on a new type of rationalism after the conservative turn. René Girard’s concept of mimetic competition was helpful in considering the structure of the world presented in the novel. The article is devoted to a reflection on the category of time in Georgi Gospodinov’s novel Vremeubežiŝte (2020), where the author undertakes a reflection on the processes of culpable and non-culpable self-destruction of societies that have rejected the rules of Enlightenment rationalism. Collecting sticker albums is part of growing up, learning, and having fun formany children in Southeast Europe from the mid-1950, when the first picture albums appeared, until today. Among the most famous examples are sticker albums with plant and animal themes analyzed from ecohumanities perspectives, i.e., the permeation of Nature and Culture. While most authors start from thecontent ( textual and visual analysis ), the author of this paper takes a completely different perspective. After the analysis, four major periods are visible ( the early 1970s, second half of the 1980s, second half of the 1990s and early 2000s and the period from 2013 to 2018 ) in which the increase in the number and quality of the mentioned albums correlates with a greater presence of green policies and politics.Collecting sticker albums is part of growing up, learning, and having fun formany children in Southeast Europe from the mid-1950, when the first picture albums appeared, until today. The article, based on the commemorative books of the Brlićevac summer house and the correspondence of the Croatian writer Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić, attempts to show the influence that the family estate had on Brlić-Mažuranić and her work. Atthe estate in the immediate vicinityof Brod, where the spouses lived, the family spent the summer months for many consecutive years and Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić wrote most of her works. The close contact with nature, which this place provided to a nature-loving writer, became the dominant source of her inspiration, it also guaranteed great well-being, unattainable in other places she lived ( Brod, Zagreb ). The property played a huge role in the life of the famous Croatian who, in her time free from the work in the vineyard, willingly devoted herself to recreation typical of a summer resort, and each celebration of the moments spent together with the loved ones, led to a kind of sacralization of this space. The article, based on the commemorative books of the Brlićevac summer house and the correspondence of the Croatian writer Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić, attempts to show the influence that the family estate had on Brlić-Mažuranić and her work.
