Get PDFThese pages discuss the fruitful dialogue Quevedo maintained with Mercator’s Atlas minor; which was fundamental in the writing of España Defendida, and, in particular, in the preparation of Quevedo’s catalogue of the best books written in Spain. The quality of many of them is based, in his opinion, on having equaled ?or surpassed? the authors and works of the Greco– Latin world. All of this is part of Quevedo’s response to Mercator’s comments on the Spaniards, but only a part of it.En estas páginas se pone de relieve el fecundo diálogo que mantuvo Quevedo con el Atlas minor de Mercator; fue fundamental en la escritura de España defendida, y, en particular, en la confección del catálogo de los mejores libros escritos en España a juicio de Quevedo; el sello de calidad en muchos de ellos se lo concede Quevedo por haber igualado ?o superado? a los autores y obras del mundo grecolatino. Get PDFInterián is considered to be one of the predecessors of Neoclassicism in Spain. This opinion is equally valid for the author’s Neo–Latin poetry. Traces of frequent contact with classic authors and the importance of their iconographic and emblematic components can be seen in his poetry. However, it is above all his religious beliefs that give rise to poetry based on restraint. In his lyric poems in particular, a type of negative poetry can be observed, which is based on sincerity. This poetry demands a basis of truthfulness in the concepts used and calls into question the excessive use of ingenuity and rhetorical devices.Interián ha sido considerado uno de los predecesores del Neoclasicismo en España. Este juicio es igualmente válido para la poesía neolatina del autor. En su obra poética puede observarse la huella del trato frecuente con los autores clásicos y la importancia del componente iconográfico y emblemático. Pero son sobre todo sus convicciones religiosas las que originan una poética fundamentada en la contención. En sus poemas líricos puede observarse especialmente una especie de poética negativa, basada en la sinceridad. Dicha poética exige de los conceptos utilizados un fondo de verdad y pone en tela de juicio el uso excesivo del ingenio y de los recursos retóricos

Get PDFLinguistic hypercorrection has traditionally been considered a bizarre and marginal phenomenon, but this paper argues that it actually constitutes a solid foundation to support data, arguments and proposals for historical linguistics. Linguistic hypercorrection also tends to present highly valuable sociolinguistic information. DOS NOUS FRAGMENTS DE LÀMINES DE PLOM AMB INSCRIPCIONS IBÈRIQUES NORD-ORIENTALS PROCEDENTS D’UNA COL·LECCIÓ PARTICULAR
Get PDFThis paper analyzes the north-eastern Iberian inscriptions on two fragments of lead sheets from a private collection. The level of fragmentation of the two sheets and the fact that they come from furtive excavations greatly limits the information obtainable from them. In this case, we do not even know which site they come from, although the source of information indicates that they were acquired in Barcelona. In addition, the sheets have not been completely restored and both have folds that prevent the reading of parts of the inscriptions. Both sheets have writing on both sides. The first sheet identifies the name of the person, [s]elgibas, who may appear up to three times, twice in the first text and once in the second. The first text also includes the element iunstir, characteristic of lead sheets. The elements on the second sheet are quite fragmented; however, some possible personal name morphemes can be recognized, such as basto, and perhaps belar, which could also be a common name.En aquest treball s’analitzen les inscripcions ibèriques nord-orientals presents a dos fragments de làmines de plom procedents d’una col·lecció privada. El nivell de fragmentació dels dos ploms i el fet que procedeixin d’excavacions furtives limita en gran manera la informació que d’ells es pot extreure. En aquest cas, ni tant sols sabem de quin jaciment procedeixen, tot i que la informació d’origen indica que van ser adquirits a Barcelona. A més, els ploms no han estat completament restaurats i ambdós presenten plecs que impedeixen la lectura de part de les inscripcions. Ambdós ploms estan escrits per les dues cares. Al primer plom, s’identifica el nom de persona [s]elgibas que podria aparèixer fins a tres vegades, dos cops al primer text i un al segon. Al primer text també apareix l’element iunstir, característic de les làmines de plom. Al segon plom, els elements estan força fragmentats, tot i així, es poden reconèixer alguns possibles formants antroponímics, com basto, i potser belar, que també podria ser un nom comú
