Get PDFThe article is devoted to the use of a feature film with reference to the practice of Polish language teaching at the middle school level. Starting with a detailed reconstruction of the attitudes of the characters, going through the analysis of the film means of expression, the author embeds the movie Pora umierać (Time to Die) by Dorota Kędzierzawska (2007) in the axiological context, in the circle of harsh reflections related to the death and old age. The analysis is complemented by the presentation of some specific methodological solutions and visualization of the issues raised in the film in the form of tables and graphs.Artykuł poświęcony jest odniesieniom filmu fabularnego do praktyki polonistycznej na poziomie gimnazjum. Wychodząc od szczegółowej rekonstrukcji postaw bohaterek, analizując warsztat filmowych środków wyrazu, autorka osadza film Pora umierać Doroty Kędzierzawskiej (2007) w kontekście aksjologicznym, w kręgu trudnych refleksji związanych ze śmiercią i starością. Get PDFoai:ojs.pressto.amu.edu.pl:article/845The article discusses the difficulties of diagnosing speaking skills in the situation of matriculation examination, resulting from the specific nature of spoken language varieties and texts implementation in these variants. Factors that should be taken into account when formulating criteria for assessing speech and conversation exams are: complex and holistic structure of spoken speech, transience of audible text, the spontaneity of live speech, the power of nonverbal codes, a significant stigma of a dialog, and the influence of situational context on the course of communicative interaction. Get PDFThe author presents conclusions from the study on “The Polish literature and language instruction in secondary school in view of the new curriculum”, in which participated 6000 pupils, their parents, teachers, librarians, and school directors. Correlations are presented between the pupils’ achievements and the schools’ educational requirements, library resources, or family status. Attention is focused on the students’ cultural preferences, the school selection of culture texts, and the ways of teaching their reception. The author comments also on the appearing contradiction as the majority of interviewed teenagers evaluate positively their Polish teachers, both personally and factually. Yet almost 60 per cent of them demonstrate reluctance to talk about literature. The results of statistical analyses are compared with the solutions indicated in the works on the Polish literature and language instruction.Autorka przedstawia wnioski z projektu badawczego „Dydaktyka literatury i języka polskiego w gimnazjum w świetle nowej podstawy programowej” przeprowadzonego wśród ponad 6000 uczniów, ich rodziców, nauczycieli, bibliotekarzy oraz dyrektorów szkół. Referuje zależności między osiągnięciami uczniów a realizowanymi w szkołach wymaganiami edukacyjnymi, wyposażeniem bibliotek czy statusem rodziny. Skupia uwagę na preferencjach kulturowych gimnazjalistów, szkolnym doborze tekstów kultury i stosowanych przez nauczycieli mechanizmach nauki ich odbioru. Komentuje sprzeczność wynikającą z faktu, że większość badanych nastolatków dobrze ocenia swoich polonistów zarówno na płaszczyźnie interpersonalnej, jak i merytorycznej, a mimo to blisko 60% spośród nich demonstruje niechęć do rozmowy o literaturze. Rezultaty analiz statystycznych zestawia z sugestiami rozwiązań zawartych w pracach z zakresu dydaktyki polonistycznej
Świat wartości w śląskich nazwach geograficznych
Get PDFThe objective of the article is an axiological analysis of the Silesian geographical names and the justification of its usefulness in school didactics. Educating pupils by means of proper names integrates linguistic, cultural, historical and political contents. Discussions on names and their justification teach tolerance and patriotism, highlight fundamental values such as family, work, homeland and religion, and emphasize traditions and attachment to one’s “little homeland”. Onomastic aspects can be included in the teaching of the Polish language as well as other subjects, discussed in special interest groups or facultative classes, and used in field games and in mini-biographies of one’s place of living. Classes in onomastics can offer an opportunity to study local and regional dialects of the Polish language, discover the old meanings of certain words and find the differences between common words and proper names. A more detailed analysis of toponyms makes it possible to learn the methods of categorizing the world, as well as reconstruct the popular image of reality.Celem artykułu jest aksjologiczna analiza nazw geograficznych Śląska i pokazanie jej przydatności w dydaktyce szkolnej. Kształcenie i wychowywanie ucznia za pomocą nazw własnych integruje treści językowe, kulturowe, historyczne i polityczne. Rozmowa o nazwach i ich motywacjach uczy tolerancji i patriotyzmu, wskazuje podstawowe wartości, jak rodzina, praca, ojczyna i religia, zwraca uwagę na tradycje i przywiązanie do swej „małej ojczyzny”. Problematykę onomastyczną można włączać do nauczania języka polskiego i innych przedmiotów, poruszać na kółkach zainteresowań, fakultetach, a także wykorzystywać w grach terenowych czy tworzeniu minibiografii swoich miejscowości. Lekcje z onomastyki pomogą przyjrzeć się odmianom gwarowym i regionalnym polszczyzny, odkryć dawne znaczenia wyrazów i odszukać różnice między wyrazami pospolitymi a nazwami własnymi. Bliższa analiza toponimów pozwoli poznać sposoby kategoryzowania świata, a także odtworzyć potoczny obraz rzeczywistości
