    Get PDF
This article identifies the origins of Rainer Maria Rilke’s taste for the primitive in his encounter with the art of the Early Italian Renaissance. Through the analysis of the most significant passages of Das Florenzer Tagebuch, this study aims at restoring the importance that the observations on the art of the Italian Renaissance provided in this diary deserve within the author’s critical and poetical work. By dismantling Vasari’s organic metaphor, which positioned the High Renaissance at the top of the artistic production of his time, Rilke elaborates his own vision of the artistic creative process, conceived as a life cycle lacking any possible culmination. The poet blames Raphael and Michelangelo’s pride for the decline of the Renaissance art and proclaims himself successor of the fifteenth-century masters. It is these artists – sadly named Primitives – that arouse in Rilke the necessity to identify with a simple and authentic art supporting honesty towards things.

The article is devoted to define the lines of Pietro Verri’s interventions in the field of medical science and its health and social implications through his prose writings: the first satirical almanacs; the articles published in «Il Caffè»; the writings of a private nature (the letters to his brother Alessandro, with a very rich catalogue of clinical relations); the memorial works (on his friend Paolo Frisi, who died after an unfortunate surgical operation, and the reflections dedicated to his daughter Teresa, in tune with the most advanced pediatric and pedagogical positions).L’articolo intende definire le linee di intervento di Pietro Verri nell’ambito della scienza medica e delle sue implicazioni sanitarie e sociali attraverso l’analisi delle prose: i primi almanacchi dal marcato registro satirico; gli interventi giornalistici del «Caffè»; le scritture di natura strettamente privata (le lettere al fratello Alessandro, con un assai ricco catalogo di relazioni cliniche); quelle di carattere memorialistico (l’affettuoso ricordo dell’amico Paolo Frisi, morto per i postumi di un’infelice operazione chirurgica, e le riflessioni dedicate alla figlia Teresa, in sintonia con le posizioni pediatriche e pedagogiche più avanzate)

    Get PDF
Through Alfred Döblin’s essayistic and journalistic production of the 1910s and 2020s, the article investigates the development of the modes of representation of Berlin modernity finally fully offered by the author with the "metropolitan novel" Berlin Alexanderplatz (1929). If considered in the context of the debate relating to technology and capitalism of the time, these modalities prove to be of particular importance also for understanding the reasons for the prompt translation of the work by Alberto Spaini, author of the only version in our language of the novel published in 1931, i.e. during a regime fascist that very probably, as the article argues, understood little of Döblin’s intentions.

The contribution intends to analyze the contents of an important apparatus of annotations to Dante\u27s Divine Comedy, namely that of the Cassinese 512, written at the end of the 14th century in central-southern Italy. In particular, we intend to propose an analysis of the exegetical sources of the glosses, and in particular of the substantially unknown section not derived from the main source, i.e. the third edition of Pietro Alighieri\u27s Comentum, used by the main hand (CS). As a result, this commentator draws on many other previous commentaries (Lana above all); but he also adds a considerable number of original glosses that make his commentary autonomous and innovative, therefore worthy of a first critical edition. The anonymous also knows at least one other version of Pietro Alighieri\u27s Comentum, i.e. the second one (1342-1355), and perhaps also his first and more successful version (1339-1341): this imposes new reflections on the ways in which CS benefited from his models and in particular on his relationship with the commentary of Dante\u27s son.

    Get PDF
This paper focuses on some elements of Fenoglio’s texts, from the Appunti partigiani to the lates, often unfinished, written in 1962-1963. Many constants (i.e., many “nuclei of sense” which are proposed with high frequency) are shown, as well as many changes of perspective. In this sense Fenoglio’s partial or whole alter egos take on the author’s biographic traits, while at the same time presente other, this time fictional, traits, on the basis of the desired narrative inventio. On this topic some general opinions are proposed, which stem from textual examples mostly taken from the last novels, from the fantastic short stories (as Il letterato Franz Laszlo Melas), and dramatic texts (as Lo sbandato, also known as Solitudine).

Criminal and Constitutional Populism Under the Aristotelian Framework

    Get PDF
Aristotle\u27s work relies on the assessment of human nature and the search for the supreme good defined as the complete fulfillment of an active life. In his view, the Stagirite regards the community of the political type as the most conducive to the common and individual good. Therefore, the account of justice cannot be separated from the account of politics, and consequently from the account of virtues. These two concepts are indeed intrinsically connected. In fact, in his perspective, the best city requires the best citizens as the ideal ground to build up the best possible community, and vice versa. This conceptual framework seems particularly essential and useful to assess the modern phenomenon of constitutional populism. The basis of Aristotle\u27s theory of justice (in its general, distributive, and corrective type) applied to the perceived deviant constitution of democracy demonstrates how the phenomenon works in the fields of constitutional and criminal law.Aristotle\u27s work relies on the assessment of human nature and the search for the supreme good defined as the complete fulfillment of an active life.

    No full text
In 1934 Piero Martinetti published Gesù Cristo e il cristianesimo, reference text of his philosophical christology. This is a study in wich Jesus is seen as a moral ideal that accesses the truth through direct intellectual intuition. According to Martinetti, man, following this moral ideal, finds within himself a spiritual unity, a transcendental structure of the religious that overcomes both the theological-mystical vision of the Gospel of John and the ecclesiastical degeneration of the teaching of Jesus found in St. Paul’s letters. In 1934 Piero Martinetti publishes the book Gesù Cristo e il cristianesimo, the key text of his philosophical Christology. In this essay, Jesus of Nazareth is seen as a moral ideal that accesses truth through direct intellectual intuition. For Martinetti, following this moral ideal the human being finds within himself a spiritual unity, a transcendental religious element capable of overcoming both the theological-mystical vision of the Logos of the Gospel of John and the ecclesiastical degeneration of the magisterium of Jesus brought about by the Pauline letters

    No full text
The work analyzes the essay of Santi Romano published in Modena in 1906 concerning “The nature of the Parliamentary Rules of Procedures”. The essay of Romano – a landmark in the Italian Parliamentary studies – is divided in two parts. In the first part, Romano has denied the legal nature of the Parliamentary Rules of Procedures (paragraphs 1-33). In the second part, he pointed out the impact of the Parliamentary Rules of Procedures on the interpretation and informal evolution of Constitutional law (paragraphs 34-38). The work aims to highlight the close connections between these two theses. The work analyzes the essay of Santi Romano published in Modena in 1906 concerning “The nature of the Parliamentary Rules of Procedures”. La banda: Un corpo in continuo movimento

    No full text
