Medical involvement in procreation in Greek Law
No full textGreek Family Law already quite early (since 2002) provided for a modern legal framework regulating the medical involvement in procreation. The legislator proved his social sensitivity regarding the right of citizens to reproduce by passing Law 3089/2002, which was pioneering. The author has set out to briefly analyze conditions for the implementation of art. 1455 of the Greek Civil Code and the consent to artificial insemination and its withdrawal.

No full textThe contribution, starting from the well-known problem of the “new rights”, highlights the further difficulties that this general theme encounters when it is framed in the particular context of criminal execution. Focusing attention on issues related to affectivity and sexuality, the author highlights the critical issues related to their recognition and protection. She maintains that these critical issues must be traced back to a devaluing reading of the sexual dimension in emotional relationships and to persistent distorted conceptions of the function of punishment.Il contributo, muovendo dalla nota problematica dei “nuovi diritti”, mette in luce le ulteriori difficoltà che tale tema generale incontra quando è calato nel peculiare contesto dell\u27esecuzione penale. Focalizzando l\u27attenzione sulle istanze connesse all\u27affettività e alla sessualità, l\u27Autrice evidenzia le criticità connesse al loro riconoscimento e alla loro protezione. After attempting to render intelligible the core of the proposal from the analysis of the heterogeneity of its theoretical matrix, we will highlight some problematic aspects that the proposal brings with it, and we will finally define its sense and value in the current political and epistemological struggle around psychiatric expertise through a comparison with a court case representative of the medico-legal state of our societies.Il saggio ha a oggetto una recente proposta di legge sulla responsabilità e la punibilità dei folli rei. Dopo aver provato a rendere intelligibile il nucleo della proposta a partire dall’analisi dell’eterogeneità della sua matrice teorica, vengono evidenziati alcuni aspetti problematici che la proposta porta suo malgrado con sé, passando infine a definire il suo senso e il suo valore nell’attuale lotta politica ed epistemologica intorno alle perizie psichiatriche attraverso il confronto con un caso giudiziario rappresentativo dello stato medico-legale delle nostre società
Pesticides in Court: Ruling on the use of neonicotinoids in EU Member States
No full textIn the last decades, neonicotinoid pesticides linked with bee decline have become a bone of contention in EU Member States. On the one hand, regulatory science provided by the European Food Safety Authority has been used in the interpretations established by the Court of Justice of the EU as regards the Commission’s ban of some neonicotinoids. On the other, scientific uncertainty pertaining to these chemicals underpinned the adoption of emergency measures at the national level for restricted use of the pesticides concerned. Through the line of reasoning followed by the Court’s rulings on the matter, this contribution illustrates the legal implications arising from relying on regulatory science as knowledge base that justifies both the legal invocation of the precautionary principle and the review of derogations at the national level

Get PDFA multidimensional analysis and contextualization of Grazia Toderi’s early video titled Soap (1993), this essay follows the artist’s journey as she explores the connections of everyday and cosmic spaces. Relating micro and macro, Toderi questions and reinvents common objects and assumptions, and then transfigures them into contemplative and sublime experiences through the decades of her practice. Not feeling weighed down by home and family responsibilities, she liberates herself through the creative freedom to investigate topics beyond the domestic realm. Her position is radically distant from that of feminist theorists and artists of the previous generation, whose positions are examined here in comparison to Toderi’s.
Grazia Toderi, Biography.
Born in Padua in 1963, she moved to Milan in 1992 after studying at Liceo Artistico and Accademia di Belle Arti in Bologna. She was one of the winners of the Golden Lion at the Venice Biennial in 1999. She is based in Milan and Turin. She has taken part in group exhibitions including the Biennial in Venice (1993, 1999, 2009), Istanbul (1997), Sydney (1998), Pusan (2000 and 2002), Pontevedra (2004), New Orleans (2011) Mechelen (2015). Her solo exhibitions include those at Frac Languedoc-Roussillon, Montpellier (1995), Casino Luxembourg, Luxembourg (1998), Castello di Rivoli, Torino (1998), Frac Bourgogne, Digione (1998), Museo Ludwig, Colonia (1999), De Appel Foundation, Amsterdam (1999), Fundaciò Joan Mirò, Barcellona (2002), Miami Art Museum, Miami (2006), PAC, Milano (2006), Museo Serralves, Oporto (2010), Hirshhorn Museum, Washington D.C. A partire dai loro paratesti, e con particolare riferimento al Discorso di Lionardo Salviati pubblicato in coda alla seconda edizione, lo studio vuole mostrare come , in ambiente mediceo, fosse avvenuta una trasformazione degli interessi che presiedevano alla lettura di Tacito, prima inteso eminentemente come ‘palestra linguistica’ su cui testare la duttilità del fiorentino, e poi – secondo il paradigma del cosiddetto tacitismo – come repertorio di exempla politici in grado di illustrare i meccanismi di potere con cui dovevano misurarsi i protagonisti della transizione all’assolutismo di Antico Regime
Traces of Italian Futurism in Russian experimental prose: The Case of V. Šeršenevič and L. Zak
Get PDFAt the end of 1913, the Moscow-based Futurist group Mezzanine of Poetry (Mezonin Poėzii) published the almanac Krematorij Zdravomyslija [The Crematorium of the Common Sense]. The almanac came out right before the group separated and thus represents its legacy. Gathering the works of fourteen poets of the Mezzanine, this voluminous publication stands out for its attempt – set down by the two theoretical leaders of the group: Vadim Šeršenevič (1893-1942) and Lev Zak (1892-1980, who signed his works as Chrisanf and as M. Rossijanskij) – to shape a genre of experimental prose that would reflect the vividness and innovation of the poetic language of Russian Futurism. The present paper analyses the stylistic features of three prose works in the almanac: two excerpts from Šeršenevič’s unfinished novel Introdukcija samoubijcy [The Suicide’s Prelude] and L. Zak’s short story Knjažna Karakaticeva [Princess Cuttlefish]. It does so in reference to Marinetti’s statements and to Šeršenevič and Zak’s theoretical writings on prose, included in the same almanac. Prose is one of the least investigated literary forms in Futurism Studies. Thus, the analysis deals mostly with primary sources and with the documents collected by V. Markov and V.P. Lapšin. The aim is to shed light on the continuity in the development of Italian and Russian Futurist experimental prose and, specifically, to read the works of Šeršenevič and Zak from a new comparative perspective, investigating the extent to which they used the theoretical principles set down by Italian Futurism.Alla fine del 1913, il gruppo futurista moscovita del Mezzanino della Poesia (Mezonin Poėzii) diede alle stampe l’almanacco Krematorij Zdravomyslija [Il crematorio del buonsenso], ultima testimonianza letteraria prima dello scioglimento del gruppo. Questa monumentale pubblicazione, che raccoglie le opere di quattordici poeti che aderirono al Mezzanino, si staglia per il tentativo dei due teorici del gruppo – Vadim Šeršenevič (1893-1942) e Lev Zak (1892-1980, in arte Chrisanf) – di dare forma a un genere di prosa sperimentale che avrebbe dovuto riflettere la vivacità dell’innovazione del linguaggio poetico che caratterizza la stagione futurista in Russia. A partire da un confronto tra i dettami marinettiani e gli scritti teorici sulla prosa che Šeršenevič e Zak (che firmava i propri saggi con lo pseudonimo di M. Rossijanskij) inclusero in questo stesso almanacco, nel presente articolo verranno analizzati gli stilemi presenti in tre opere in prosa: due brani tratti dal romanzo incompiuto di V. Šeršenevič Introdukcija samoubijcy [Il preludio del suicida] e un racconto di L. Zak, Knjažna Karakaticeva [La principessa seppia]. Essendo quello della prosa uno degli ambiti meno indagati in assoluto negli studi critici sul futurismo, l’analisi tratterà principalmente le fonti primarie, e farà particolare riferimento alle testimonianze raccolte da V. Markov e V.P. Lapšin, studioso della storia delle relazioni letterarie e artistiche negli anni Dieci del XX secolo tra Italia e Russia. Lo scopo di questo contributo è quindi quello di gettare luce sugli elementi che consentono di verificare l’esistenza di una continuità nello sviluppo della prosa sperimentale futurista italiana e russa. Indagando la misura in cui Šeršenevič e Zak attinsero dai principî teorici e dall’opera dei futuristi italiani, sarà possibile dare una lettura nuova delle loro opere, in prospettiva comparatistica
