Język blogów a normy poprawnościowe języka polskiego
This article presents results of exploratory study concerning the relation between Polish language norms and texts published on weblogs. Six weblogs were analyzed in order to find all differences between the forms used on the blogs and those suggested by norms. Those differences were then classified as either justified innovation or mistakes. Gebrauch von ausgewählten Tierphraseologismen im Deutschen
The article presents the use of idioms which contain names of animals. The analysis is based on a survey which included 66 German students. The survey had two main goals. The first one was to compare the answers of respondents with dictionary entries to check if the dictionary description still matches the actual usage. The second goal was to present the most popular animal idioms, which could be used in teaching German as a foreign language.The article presents parts of the author’s master’s thesis.The article presents the use of idioms which contain names of animals. Klasyfikacja polskich dwuczłonowych compositów o członach inicjalnych mało- i wielo-. Studium słownikowe
The aim of this article is to suggest a new classification of the Polish compound words with the initial constituents mało- and wielo-. The study is based on the corpus of such compound words extracted from the Universal Dictionary of Polish Language PWN edited by S. Dubisz. The criterion of classifying the analyzed compound words is a semantic accordance between the parathesis of the compound words and their Polish equivalents. Based on the criterion above the analyzed compound words have been divided into 3 groups.The aim of this article is to suggest a new classification of the Polish compound words with the initial constituents mało- and wielo-. Podobieństwa i różnice w podejściu do nauki języka obcego pomiędzy osobami jednojęzycznymi i wielojęzycznymi
This paper presents results of three comparisons: first, between monolinguals and multilinguals, second, between simultaneous multilinguals and consecutive multilinguals, and third, between simultaneous multilinguals and monolinguals. The aim of the research was to determine whether those groups differ in their approach towards the language learning process. Some differences between multilinguals and monolinguals were found. In this paper I examine the perception of the concepts of ‘logic’ and ‘logical’ by John Paul II, The source material includes his 14 encyclicals (though both words occur only in eight of them a total of 38 times). As it turns out, the Pope sees logic as a science, a human system, or activity (human or divine). Przysłowia internacjonalne a wielojęzyczność w dydaktyce
This article deals with the concept of introducing international proverbs to the foreign language lesson. International proverbs can be a good way to improve language skills in at least two foreign languages with less effort by using the analogy between the languages. What is more the experience that the student gains by learning the first foreign language, can be used while learning the second and the next one. Moreover international proverbs, in regard of the European policy supporting multilingualism among the European citizens, help to achieve this goal.This article deals with the concept of introducing international proverbs to the foreign language lesson. In the paper there are presented different forms of sign language poetry. They are created by the Deaf, a language and culture minority, using the natural sign language. They are also forms of games and activities and thus create a culture of deaf community. Klasykacja operatorów metatekstowych i częstość ich występowania w krótkich tekstach naukowych w języku polskim
The article presents an analysis of the usage frequency of different types of metatext markers in short scientific texts written in Polish. A well-known classification by Hyland (1998, 2005) was used with additional binary classifications by Bunton (1999) and Dahl (2004). Data mining was performed on the data using rule-generating algorithm OneRule, decision tree J48, bayesian Naive Bayes Classifier and k-Neares Neighbour classifier, in order to analyse relations between the classes of metatext markers found in the texts. The outcomes of the analysis may be used to simplify classification of metatext markers. Information on metatext markers classes frequency may also be used for preparing or adapting texts in research on the influence of metatext markers on reading and, eventually, for automatic text structure analysis and abstract generation.

The article presented in this volume is an attempt to answer the question of how to analyze popular science texts in text linguistics aspect. They belong to a very different type of text defined in many ways.
