    Unlocking Digital Literacy in Indonesia: Insights from the Use of Social Media Platforms

    The use of social media platforms has become increasingly integrated into students' everyday lives as technology advances, particularly with the rise of remote learning and digital connectivity. Despite these rapid adoptions, digital literacy challenges remain, including finding, evaluating, utilising, sharing, and creating content responsibly. This study examines how social media platforms shape students' minds and underscore the importance of digital literacy skills as a result of their experiences and perceptions of these platforms. Using a qualitative research approach, the study conducted a systematic review of data collected from students in Indonesia. The data were then analyzed and integrated to identify patterns, trends, and common themes across the literature. The analysis revealed several themes, including popular features of social media, learning advantages, the role of adults, and the importance of safe social media use. The findings highlight the critical role of digital literacy in enabling students to navigate social media platforms effectively. This study provides valuable insights for educators, policymakers, and parents on adopting and implementing social media platforms while fostering appropriate digital literacy skills among students

    Effectiveness of combination theraphy of trigger point, deep tissue massage, and stretching for the low backpain healing

    This research aims to determine the effectiveness of the combination therapy of trigger point, deep tissue massage, and stretching towards the low back pain healing which is indicated by the decreasing pain and increasing flexibility. The research was conducted in December 2021 in Temanggung and Yogyakarta. This research was basically an experimental study. The research design utilized a pre-experimental design with a one group pretest posttest design. The research sample was for about 21 people with the characteristics of the subject of Non Specific Low Back Pain (NSLBP) acute and subacute phases. The sampling was done by utilizing the incidental sampling method. The instruments were VAS to measure pain and Fingertip to Floor (FTF) to measure lower back flexibility. The combination therapy treatment was done for about 50 minutes, started by the manipulation of trigger points in the deep spinal muscles, longisimus dorsi, iliocostalis, quadratus lumborum, gluteus, hamstring, soleus, psoas major, and quadriceps muscles, and continued with manipulation of deep tissue massage techniques in the area of back, hips, thighs, and calves, followed by stretching with active assisted stretching techniques such as the moves of cobra, childpose, cat and camel, thread the needle, gluteus stretch, and piriformis stretch. The data analysis technique utilized paired t test to determine the significance of the difference with the terms of significance of p < 0.05. The findings show that there is a difference between the pretest and the posttest. The results of this study indicate that in the pretest the average score of pain is at 77.48, ante flexion is at 10.81, dextro flexion at 35.21, and sinistro flexion at 34.95. After being given treatment, the average score of pain is at 32.14, ante-flexion at 4.31, 31.91, and sinistro flexion at 32.48. The results of the paired t test show a significance value of 0.000, subsequently it can be concluded that the combination therapy of trigger point, deep tissue massage, and stretching is effective for the low back pain healing with the effectiveness levels at 58.52%, 60.12%, 9.37%, and 7.06% respectively for pain reduction and increased flexibility of ante flexion, dextro flexion, and sinistro flexion

    The Effect of Realistic Mathematics Education Approach to Improve Students' Mathematics Learning Outcomes

    Learning outcomes are influenced by the process carried out during learning. The learning process is carried out by applying innovative learning models/approaches.This study aims to determine the effect of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach on the mathematics learning outcomes of grade VIII students at Siak Hulu Junior High School. Employing a development research design combined with a pseudo-experimental methodology, the research involved a population of six classes (VIII1 to VIII6). A purposive sampling technique was utilized, resulting in two selected classes: VIII3, comprising 32 students as the control group, and VIII4, also with 32 students, serving as the experimental group. The development phase produced a valid and practical student worksheet designed to facilitate the RME approach. The findings indicated that students who engaged with the RME approach demonstrated significantly better mathematics learning outcomes compared to those who experienced conventional teaching methods. Statistical analysis confirmed the effectiveness of the RME approach, suggesting that it not only enhances understanding but also improves overall performance in mathematics. This study concludes that the implementation of the RME approach positively influences the mathematics learning outcomes of grade VIII students in SMP 6 Kampar Regency, highlighting its potential as an effective pedagogical strategy in mathematics education. The research contributes to providing evidence for the adoption of realistic approaches in classroom settings to foster improved student engagement and achievement in mathematics.     The Effect of Quiz Case Game in Kemp's Model on Creative Thinking and Learning Motivation

    This study examines the effect of the Quiz Case game in the Kemp model on students' creative thinking and learning motivation. Using a Quasi-Experimental Design with Nonequivalent (Pretest-Posttest) Control Group Design, 66 students were divided into experimental and control groups (33 each) through purposive sampling. The experimental class used the Quiz Case game, while the control class used Matching Pairs. Data were collected via tests and questionnaires, analyzed with N-gain, Mann-Whitney U, effect size, and Spearman correlation. The experimental class showed higher creative thinking improvement (N-gain 0.68; 68.97%) than the control (0.30; 30.61%). Learning motivation improvement was similar in both classes (0.62 vs. 0.59). Mann-Whitney U indicated significant differences in creative thinking (sig. = 0.000) but not motivation (sig. = 0.346). Spearman correlation showed a strong relationship (r = 0.756).     Realistic Mathematics Education Approach in Junior High School Mathematics Learning in Indonesia (2010-2024): A Bibliometric Analysis

    RME is an approach to teaching that starts from things that are real for students. This is relevant to current education that focuses not only on academic knowledge but also on the development of relevant skills for the world of work and everyday life. The purpose of this article is to find out the research trends regarding the realistic approach to mathematics education in secondary school and to find out the research topics that have the potential to be used as research in the future. The method used in this research is bibliometric analysis. The research data was obtained through Harzing's Publish or Perish software with Google Scholar database, the keywords realistic mathematics education and junior high school, the maximum number of results is 1000 abstracts, and the keywords are written in English and Bahasa Indonesia. The articles obtained were 960 articles with a period of 2010-2024. Then, restricted to Scopus-accredited journals, Sinta 2, and Sinta 3; there are 99 articles were obtained. The results showed that the publication trend with the research theme of an RME approach experienced the highest increase between 2016-2018 and 2021-2023. In addition, the research theme of the RME approach, which has the opportunity to be used as research in the future, has two keywords, namely systematic literature review and reasoning

    Using Reflective Thinking to Find the Best Solutions to Combinatorics Problems

    This research explores the reflective thinking process in solving combinatorial problems to achieve optimal solutions. Seventy students who have taken or are taking combinatorial courses participated in this study. The research procedure includes selecting suitable participants, distributing combinatorial questions that have been tested for quality to ensure validity and reliability, and conducting tests. After the test, interviews were conducted with several randomly selected students. Data from tests and interviews were analyzed based on reflective thinking indicators. This study uses several instruments, such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Matching Familiar Figures Test, to identify students' reflective thinking characteristics and tendencies. Data analysis includes analyzing the results, comparing the results between reflective students for each instrument, and formulating conclusions. The results showed that reflective thinking helped students evaluate their strategies, identify mistakes faster, and adjust approaches based on new understandings gained from reflection. This approach has proven effective in supporting more creative and systematic problem-solving and helping achieve optimal solutions according to research objectives

    Path Analysis of Teachers’ Cognitive Activation and Students’ Mathematics Achievement in PISA 2022 Indonesia

    PISA 2022 data show that Indonesian students’ mathematics performance remains low, with an average score of 366 and ranking 70th out of 81 participating countries. This highlights the need to identify factors influencing students’ mathematics achievement. Based on the teaching quality framework, cognitive activation is considered the most influential dimension in improving mathematics performance because it encourages students to think deeply, reason conceptually, and solve complex problems, beyond the effects of teacher support or classroom management. Previous studies mainly examined direct relationships among variables, while this study adds the mediating roles of disciplinary climate, teacher support, and proactive mathematics behavior as a form of contextual adaptation. This quantitative study used data from PISA 2022 Indonesia involving 13,439 students from 410 schools, with 12,209 students providing complete responses. Data were analyzed using a path mediation model based on structural equation modeling (SEM) with maximum likelihood estimation, and standard errors were obtained from 1,000 bootstrap samples. Model validation was conducted through confirmatory factor analysis, showing good model fit with CFI > 0.90 and RMSEA < 0.08. The results indicate that cognitive activation and gender have both direct and indirect effects on mathematics achievement through disciplinary climate and proactive behavior. Socioeconomic and cultural status also influence achievement through proactive mathematics behavior. Male students scored lower in disciplinary climate, proactive behavior, and mathematics performance compared to female students. These findings emphasize the importance of cognitively activating instruction and teacher capacity-building policies to foster disciplined, supportive learning environments that enhance students’ mathematical reasoning

    Digitalization of learning media: A comparative study on metacognitive ability, learning interest, and activeness in Islamic High School 2 Banyumas Excellent Class

    The growing use of digital learning media calls for a deeper investigation into its effects on students' psychological aspects, particularly metacognitive ability, learning interest, and activeness. It aims to compare students’ metacognitive ability, learning interest, and activeness before and after implementing digital learning media. This study focuses on 80 10th-grade students in the Excellent Class at Islamic High School (MAN) 2 Banyumas during the 2023/2024 academic year. Using a descriptive comparative quantitative approach with a survey method, data were collected through non-probability sampling with a saturation (census) technique. The results show significant differences in all three aspects after the implementation. Specifically, students' metacognitive ability improved by 19%, learning interest by 37%, and learning activeness by 31%. These findings confirm that digital learning media have a positive impact on students’ learning experiences. It enhances their ability to monitor their learning, increases their engagement, and encourages more active class participation. The results highlight the value of digital tools in supporting modern education. However, further research is needed to identify specific causal factors contributing to these improvements, such as interface usability and the integration of interactive learning features. Additionally, long-term studies are recommended to examine the sustainability of these benefits over time and how digital media can be continually optimized to support student development

    Students and lecturers' perspectives of MOOCs as an educational innovation for sustainable learning

    The integration of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) into higher education in Indonesia continues to face significant challenges, particularly regarding their effectiveness in supporting sustainable learning. Most prior studies have predominantly focused on technical aspects such as platform usage and user participation rates. At the same time, limited attention has been given to the impact of MOOCs on long-term skill development, learner autonomy, and their formal integration into academic curricula. This study offers a novel contribution by deeply exploring the perspectives of both students and lecturers on MOOCs as an educational innovation for sustainable learning in higher education. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the research utilized the MOOC Integration Perception Scale (MIPS) for quantitative data and the MOOC Sustainability Interview Protocol (MSIP) for qualitative inquiry. A total of 120 students and 20 lecturers from diverse Indonesian universities participated as respondents. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and independent samples t-tests, while qualitative data were examined through thematic analysis. Findings reveal that both students and lecturers highly value the flexibility and accessibility of MOOCs, especially in overcoming geographic and temporal barriers. However, concerns remain about the lack of direct interaction and the limited provision of personalized feedback, which hinders the pedagogical depth of these platforms. This study recommends the development of blended learning models and improvements in digital infrastructure, especially in underdeveloped regions, as strategic efforts to enhance MOOC integration in higher education. Future research should adopt longitudinal approaches to assess the long-term effects of MOOCs on learning outcomes, skill development, and learner autonomy

    Developing an optimal design of the Sekolah Perempuan website to empower women's financial independence

    Women are often associated with a lack of economic independence, which hinders their ability to make autonomous financial decisions. The development of the Sekolah Perempuan website aims to address the significant challenge of women's financial independence, exacerbated by limited access to education and persistent social stigma. This study focuses on creating an optimal design framework that empowers women through the effective use of digital resources. By employing a mixed-methods approach, including both quantitative and qualitative methods, the research utilizes the ADDIE model to guide the website's development. A sample of 35 women participants was surveyed to assess their financial independence before and after engaging with the Sekolah Perempuan website. The data collection instruments included structured surveys, which revealed a significant improvement in financial autonomy, indicated by a mean difference (p < 0.001). The design framework consists of three key components: (1) Promoting Women Empowerment through educational initiatives that enhance self-confidence, financial literacy, and digital skills; (2) Enhancing Digital Marketing Skills by developing competencies in digital knowledge and marketing strategies; and (3) Supporting Financial Independence through integrated marketing tools and educational resources. The findings demonstrate a positive impact, with participants reporting new income sources and increased financial confidence. This study underscores the potential of digital platforms to foster women's financial independence and offers sustainable solutions for long-term empowerment. Future research should explore the application of this framework across various digital platforms to further enhance women's empowerment initiatives
