Hipostaza, ateista i Sługa Jahwe, czyli trzy koncepcje samotności w filozofii Emmanuela Levinasa.

Solitude is, to some measure, in the centre of Emmanuel Levinas’s philosophy. Indeed, in each of the three periods of his philosophical path, solitude adopts a different shape. In the first period, Levinas shows us hypostasis as the solitude of the monad, tragically enclosed within itself. In the second period he sketches before our eyes the image of solitude as a transcendental condition of the occurrence of encounter with the Other. Whereas in the third period, he asserts the solitude of the subject who is infinitely responsible for Others. Admittedly, the term “solitude” (la solitude) appears only in the first period of his philosophical quest. In the second period, he designates solitude by the terms “separation” (la séparation), while in the third period he calls it “selfness” (le Soi). Although Levinas uses those three distinct terms, which might suggest completely different realities, they converge precisely in what constitutes the substantial richness of the experience of solitude

The author analyzes Saint Augustine sentence “Love and then what you will, do”. The sentence is being studied in the context of Augustine teaching about the role of love in human moral acting. The article presents the arguments supporting a thesis that love is a necessary attribute of a good moral acting. The authentic value of a human act derives from “root of love”. The final part of the article presents two contemporary points of view (E. Gilson, P. Agaësse) which are confronted with the quoted sentence. The author analyzes Saint Augustine sentence “Love and then what you will, do”. While metaphysics (Zubiri) and theology (Barth) approach God using notions, which derive from the experience of the world, mystics approach God through union with him (John of the Cross). Whereas in philosophy and theology mind plays the leading role, in mystics’ perspective it is will with its love, which dominates leading to the union with God. Love makes us somehow similar to God (connaturalitas Thomas Aquinas) therefore mind profits from love and its union with God. Mind abandoning notions opens up to the new knowledge scattering from God.While metaphysics (Zubiri) and theology (Barth) approach God using notions, which derive from the experience of the world, mystics approach God through union with him (John of the Cross). This presentation examines B. P. Bowne’s view of God. God is an active and self-determining being. Nature is understood by Bowne as activated by the intellect and will of God. Bowne stated that each person has the attributes of awareness and self-awareness, freedom and the ability to act, and self-control – in a perfect way possessed only by God. Bowne’s theistic personalism shows the human person to be a spiritual being, ultimately deriving from God, the Most-High Person. This presentation examines B. P. Bowne’s view of God. The article raises an issue of love and loneliness confronted with opinion, that love is the only antidote for loneliness. Its author is submitting this thesis to a precise research. The source wish of love is motivated by aiming at avoiding loneliness. The loneliness seems to be more primary phenomenon to love. This does not necessarily mean that it is not true that love can overcome loneliness. Loneliness can only give way under the pressure of perfect love. It is an attribute of God. Is love characteristic only of homo sapiens? Is it only man that can love and be loved? Or has there come the time of the Cyberman – an artificial life partner to have sex with, to love and to marry? The attempt of answer to these questions is based on data collected within exact sciences and humanities, and in particular on the idea of a post-biological man of  transhumanism. Is love characteristic only of homo sapiens?
