The Difference In Flexibility Of Lumbar Joints Before And After Yoga Gymnastics In The Integrated Health Center (Posyandu) Yuswo Widodo Surabaya
Introduction: Indonesian Ministry of Health Research (2017) stated that since 2000 the percentage of older people is above 7%and predicts that the population of Indonesian seniors will continue to increase. The elderly will undergo a gradual decline in physical and mental capacities, one of which is a decrease in lumbar joints flexibility. It can be prevented by exercising. One of the suitable exercise that can be done is yoga. Purpose: To analyze the flexibility of lumbar joints in the elderly before and after yoga exercises. Method: this study is a pre-experimental study with one group pretest-posttest design approach. The sampling techniques used in this research was non-probability sampling method i.e., purposive sampling with a sample of 35 people. Elderly flexibility was measured using the sit and reach test scale. Result: The flexibility of lumbar joints in thirty-five elderly as subjects before yoga on the first day and after the yoga on the last daywas measured using a meter band, and the result showed 27 older people with increased flexibility, six older people with decreased, and two people who have no change. The Results obtained a significant difference between before and after the yoga exercise program (P = 0.00).Conclusion: There is a difference in the flexibility of lumbar joints before and after yogagymnastics in the elderly at Integrated Health Center (Pos Pelayanan Terpadu in Indonesianor Posyandu) Yuswo Widodo Surabaya, with better flexibility after yoga exercise. Thisfavorable condition might minimize the probability risk of musculoskeletal injury.
Sleep Quality Before And After Yoga Exercises In Elderly At Posyandu Lansia Yuswo Widodo Surabaya
Introduction: Population of the elderly in Indonesia continues to grow every year. Physiological setbacks that occur in the elderly contribute to the declining quality of sleep. Sleep disorder is one of the disorders in older people that are known to have a negative physical and psychological impact. One of the promotive actions to improve sleep quality in the elderly is physical activity, and one such activity that can be practiced by the elderly is yoga. Yoga has been shown to increase the quality of sleep in older people. Aim: The purpose of this research was to understand the difference in sleep quality before and after yoga exercise in the elderly at Posyandu Lansia Yuswo Widodo Surabaya. Method: This study was an analytical study with a pre-experimental design using one group pre-test post-test design, which was carried out for two months. The sampling method used was purposive sampling. The total samples obtained were 38 respondents, and all respondents were elderly in Posyandu Lansia Yuswo Widodo Surabaya. The research instrument used was the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Statistical analysis used was the Wilcoxon Signed
Rank Test. Result: The majority of respondents before yoga exercises had poor sleep quality, and the majority of respondents after yoga exercises had good sleep quality. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the quality of sleep before and after yoga in the elderly at the Posyandu Lansia Yuswo Widodo Surabaya (p = 0.000). Conclusion: The effective and routine application of yoga exercises could improve the quality of sleep in the elderly
Association Between Computer Vision Syndrome And Attention In Workers
Introduction: Nowadays, digital devices are rapidly growing and demanding everybody to use a computer or laptop for daily life, such as working, studying, playing games. Generally, the eye problem goes parallel with the growth of technology. Eyes problem related to the use of the computer, such as dry eyes, tired eyes, blurred eyes, and it is called Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS). Attention is a process that restricts much information that needs to be received and has a vital role in maintaining cognitive function. Attention is affected by the sensory stimulus, especially from the eyes. That is why CVS might influence attention. If the attention becomes distracted, it will affect studying or working performance. Aim: To analyze the association between CVS and attention in Workers. Methods: Cross-sectional is used in this research, and the sampling method was consecutive sampling. Computer Vision Syndrome Questionnaire and Trail Making Test part B is the instrument for this research Result: Respondents with CVS was 59,2%, disturbed attention was 63,2%, both CVS and disturbed attention was 40,8%. Chi-square trial showed p=0,110, which means that there is no association between CVS and attention. Conclusion: There is no association between CVS and attention in Workers
Hand Muscle Grip Strength on Pre- And Post- Rubber Ball Performing Exercises of Older People
Introduction: The number of older people in Indonesia continues to rise. Aging process will cause changes in organ systems, one of which is changes in the musculoskeletal system. One of the significant weakening of function in the elderly is the degrading strength of the handheld muscles, which resulted in a decrease of functional abilities. One method which can be used to increase hand muscle grip strength is by doing rubber ball exercise. Aim: To analyze the difference of hand muscle grip strength on pre- and post- performing rubber ball exercises in elderlies at St. Joseph Nursing Home in Surabaya. Method: This study is a pre-experimental analytic research with one group pretest – posttest design approach. The sampling technique used consecutive sampling, with a total sample of 48 elderlies. The interventions for rubber ball exercises were carried out three times a week for one month. Instruments used for this study were the MMSE and MNA-SF questionnaires. The hand muscle grip strength was measured using the Handgrip Dynamometer. data analysis was done using the SPSS program and the Chi-Square test. Results: The mean total value of the muscle grip strength pre-exercises was 10,8 ± 3,9 kg. The mean total value of the hand muscle grip strength post exercises was 11,97 ± 4,08 kg. The data analysis results show that there was a significant difference between pre- and postperforming rubber ball exercises on the elderly at St. Joseph nursing home in Surabaya. (p=0,025). Conclusion: There is a significant contrast between pre and post-performing rubber ball exercises on the elderly at St. Joseph nursing home in Surabaya
Correlation of Routinely Given Yoga Exercise With Level of Anxiety in Elderly of Yuswo Widodo Integrated Service Post Surabaya
Introduction: The percentage proportion of older people in Indonesia is increasing, indicating that Indonesia is a country with a population structure leaning towards the elderly. If one does not die before that, every human being will surely experience an aging process that can cause various problems such as health problems. Anxiety is one of the serious health problems in the elderly. Physical exercise, such as yoga, can help reduce anxiety level. Aim: To analyze correlation between yoga exercise and level of anxiety in the elderly in Posyandu Lansia Yuswo Widodo Surabaya. Method: This research used a pre-experimental study with pre-posttest one group design, held on the 26th of July 2019 until the 16th of September 2019. The samples in this study were 22 people, all of whom were elderlies who routinely visited and have participated in 16x yoga exercise for two months. The research instrument this study used was HARS. Kendall’s Tau B was used for the data analysis. Results: data analysis shows that there was a correlation between routine yoga exercise and the level of anxiety in the elderly in Posyandu Lansia Yuswo Widodo Surabaya p=0,030. Pretest results showed that there were 14 elderly with mild anxiety and eight elderly with moderate anxiety. post-test data showed five elderly with mild anxiety levels and 17 people who did not have anxiety. Conclusion: There was a correlation between the routine of yoga exercise and the level of anxiety in the elderly in Posyandu Lansia Yuswo Widodo Surabaya

Aim: This research purpose is to correlate between the knowledge levels with the implementation of injury handling in sport student activity units of Widya Mandala Catholic University Surabaya.
Methods: This is an analytical method with cross sectional study and purposive sampling procedure. Total sample for this research is 95 students including the member of student activity unit of sport and have experienced sports injury. Member of this student activity unit consist of kyoukhusin, volleyball, badminton, basketball, taekwondo, and futsal. The
knowledge levels and the implementation of injury handling measured by the knowledge levels and the application of injury handling questionnaire made by researcher. In this research used data analysis performed by Spearman correlation test.
Result: The result of this research obtained with most less level of knowledge in sport student activity units do 2 application of injury handling is 26 person (27,4%).
Conclusion: This research show that significant relation with p value is 0,000 that mean they have correlation between level of knowledge and the implementation of injury handling in sport student activity units of Widya Mandala Catholic University Surabaya and correlation coefficient value is 0,728 that show a strong positive correlation, therefore if they have less
knowledge level so the implementation of injury handling will be less too
A Study Of The Effect Of Olive (Olea Europaea) Stem Methanol Extract As An Antibacterial Against Staphylococcus Aureus Bacteria
Introduction: Herbal medicine is starting to become an alternative to treating various diseases. Based on proven research, olive plants (Olea europaea) have the potential to inhibit the growth of bacteria that causes infections. Drugs to treat bacterial infections are antibiotics, and high exposure to antibiotics could increase the possibility of resistance. At the
end of the 1940s, it was shown that 28% of the Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) bacteria were already resistant to penicillin. Several classes of antibiotics have been created to deal with S. aureus infections. Still, these bacteria show their unique ability to respond quickly to some of the new antibiotics in producing resistance effect. That is why we need another
alternative to overcome infections caused by these bacteria. Aim: The purpose of this study is to know the effect of olive (Olea europaea) stem methanol extract as an antibacterial against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. Methods: This study uses an experimental study with the broth microdilution method, using extract concentrations of 200-51.200 µg/mL. Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) values were obtained from the results of spectrophotometer reading, and Minimum Bactericidal Concentration (MBC) was obtained from the results of streaking on agar media. Result: In this study the MIC value at a concentration of 200-51.200 µg/mL could not be evaluated because it showed no linear lines, and the MBC value was not found. But there was a reduction in the number of colonies at a concentration of 51.200 µg/mL by approximately 50%. Conclusion: Methanol extract of olive stems proved to have no antibacterial effect against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria at concentrations of 200-51.200 µg/mL
Fever Duration, Hepatomegaly And Overweight With The Dengue Shock Syndrome In Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara
Introduction: Dengue infection is an infection caused by the dengue virus. Community-widespread cases of morbidity and mortality are often found in Extraordinary Events (KLB)in Indonesia, especially in children. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to prove the correlation between the duration of fever, hepatomegaly, and overweight with dengue shock syndrome in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara. Methods: This research is an observational analytic study with a case-control approach—the subject in this study was data of dengue infection patients aged 5-14 years. The research instrument used was the patient's medical record data for the period June 2018-June 2019. Bivariate analysis was done using chi-square statistical test. Results: The results showed that there was a significant correlation (p<0.05) between the duration of fever (OR=0,35;p=0,04), hepatomegaly (OR=3,34;p=0,022), and overweight (OR=2,88;p=0,033) with dengue shock syndrome in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between the duration of fever, hepatomegaly, overweight with dengue shock syndrome
The Effect Of Hyaluronic Acid To Pain Intensity Rated By Face Pain Scale-Revised On Knee Osteoarthritis Patients
Introduction: Osteoarthritis (OA), is a chronic degenerative disease of joint associated with cartilage and joints. The most common symptoms of OA patients is joint pain that worsen in activity and relieved with rest. Hyaluronic acid (HA) injection is one of the treatment that used to relieved joint pain in OA patients.
Aim : The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of HA injection to pain intensity on knee OA degree 2 and 3 patients in PHC Hospital Surabaya.
Methods : Analytic research study design with retrospective cross-sectional study with purposive sampling technique. The respondents in this study were patients with knee OA degree 2 and 3 that had been failed with conservative therapeutics within 3 until 6 months and had been injected with HA in PHC Hospital in Surabaya. The number of respondents that
have been collected that fulfill the inclusion and exclusion criteria were 46 respondents.
Results : based on data analysis with Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test there was an effect of HA injection in pain reduction on knee OA degree 2 and 3 patients (p = 0,00001).
Conclusion : There is an effect of HA injection in pain reduction on knee OA degree 2 and 3 patients
Short Stature and Motor Development in Children Aged 2-5 Years Old
Background: Short stature is defined as a child’s height below < –2 SD based on age. Epidemiologic data shows a high percentage of Indonesian toddlers with short stature. There is fast motoric development in children above two years old. If there is a disruption in motor development, the impact will have a long-term effect on growth and development.
Aim: This research aimed to determine the relationship between short stature and motor development in children aged 2-5 years. Method: This study used an observational analytic method with cross-sectional design and consecutive sampling techniques. There were 236 subjects in this study. Height was measured by stadiometer and short stature assessed by the WHO growth Chart, while the motor development was assessed using KPSP (Kuesioner Pra Skrining Perkembangan). ChiSquare test was used to analyze the data (α= 0.05). Results: Relationship between short stature and motor development variables showed a significant weak correlation (P = 0,000; phi = 0,377) in children aged 2-5 years. Conclusion: Short stature has a weak significant relationship with the motor development in children aged 2-5 years old
