The addressees of the mission of the Church today cannot be defined in terms of territorial. As a result of numerous theological discussions, an interesting expression emerged that reflected the dynamics of the mission – missio inter gentes. The preposition communicating inter indicates a specific relationship between the mission of the Church and its addressees. Missiology, which examines the nature of the mission focuses on its relatedness and hence becomes an advocate a relational theology also relational understanding of faith, religion, ecclesiology and dialogue because God gets in between. The addressees of the mission of the Church today cannot be defined in terms of territorial. Cztery fale ewangelizacji. Refleksja o. Raniera kard. Cantalamessy na temat głoszenia kerygmatu w historii Kościoła

Father Raniero Cardinal Cantalamessa presents four periods of evangelization that have taken place in the history of the Church. He refers to them as „waves of evangelization”, indicating that these extraordinary periods of evangelization are reminiscences of the beginnings of the Church. Their appearance is related to the emergence of a new group of recipients unfamiliar with the message of the Gospel. Cantalamessa’s analysis indicates that the actual content conveyed to them is the kerygma. Appropriate pastoral reflection is also required by the choice of a keryx who is to effectively reach the recipients with the message of salvation. The four „waves of evangelization” are, according to the Italian theologian, a return to kerygmatic evangelization.Father Raniero Cardinal Cantalamessa presents four periods of evangelization that have taken place in the history of the Church. Fan Shouyi, a bridge between China and the West under the rite controversy

Much has been written about Matteo Ricci and others Western missionaries in China, and less attention has been given to Chinese Catholics. We present here the fascinating story of Fan Shouyi, a Chinese Catholic who came to Europe and decided to become a Jesuit. Returning to China, he played a role in the relations between pope Clement XI and the emperor Kangxi, a role not easy but quite constructive. Much has been written about Matteo Ricci and others Western missionaries in China, and less attention has been given to Chinese Catholics. On the 90th anniversary of the creation of the Academic Missionary Movement in Poland, an attempt is made to analyze the theological reflection undertaken then with regard to the missionary commitment of students, which justified the involvement of young people in the mission and established its principles and scope of action. On the 90th anniversary of the creation of the Academic Missionary Movement in Poland, an attempt is made to analyze the theological reflection undertaken then with regard to the missionary commitment of students, which justified the involvement of young people in the mission and established its principles and scope of action

Droga Johna Henry’ego Newmana do uznania autorytetu papieża

Newman’s way to conversion was made possible by his overcoming of his youthful convictions adopted from Protestant theologians (Luther, Cranmer, Bale, Fox, Sandys, Warburton, Isaac, and Thomas Newton), that the office of the pope was related to the case of the Antichrist. Their accusation is summed up in the statement that the pope, by enacting and enforcing ecclesiastical laws, has obscured the true primary meaning of God’s commandments and has thus established himself in the place of God, making himself the master of Catholic consciences. Newman’s idea of the Antichrist evolved from associating him with the place and the office of the pope to recognizing only his hallmarks as significant: open infidelity, ungodlieness, arrogance, worldly spirit, and false liberalism. At the same time, he took a futuristic position, not excluding the view that the “secret of godlessness” is already at work, and the Antichrist has his precursors, types, images and shadows. He overcame the mental flaw that identified the pope with the Antichrist through in-depth studies of the history of the Church, a change withwhich was signaled in A Letter to the Rev. Godfrey Faussett (1838), matured in an apology of the papacy in The Protestant Idea of Antichrist (1840) and led to the recognition of the pope as the true Vicar of Christ and Sacramentum Unitatis and the revocation of anti-Roman views in 1843, and again in 1845. Newman understood that the primacy of the pope is part of an evolving Catholic doctrine, and the pope has become the goal of prosecution because of his close resemblance to Christ, whom Satan is trying to imitate.Newman’s way to conversion was made possible by his overcoming of his youthful convictions adopted from Protestant theologians (Luther, Cranmer, Bale, Fox, Sandys, Warburton, Isaac, and Thomas Newton), that the office of the pope was related to the case of the Antichrist. The Polish missionary media of social communication has been appearing since 1882. In the analyzed period, they performed their role very well in the period of the covid-19 pandemic. They quickly reacted to a crisis situation, informing about it fairly and widely, and in some titles it translated into inviting readers to spiritual and material commitment to specific needs. A special tool in this is the media communicating via the Internet, especially social media, which allow for immediate information and reactions to a short- or long-term crisis situation. The study shows that the publishing functions performed by this press include: informational and journalistic, promoting the mission and the missionary idea, catechetical and formation, new evangelization and evangelization, fundraising for the mission, awakening missionary vocations, organizing mission groups, opinion-forming and attitude-forming. It seems that in the main assumptions, the implementation of these functions at the level of ideas has not changed, and the differences result primarily from changes in the communication technique and the diversity of target groups. Before starting the research, the following hypotheses and research theses were formulated, which we then tried to verify (hypotheses) or confirm (theses) in the course of the research. Thesis 1: during the covid-19 pandemic, leading mission journals performed the press functions for which they were created – has been confirmed. Hypothesis 1: the press functions performed by the press media and the media communicating via the Internet differed – it was verified negatively. However, it is noticeable that individual media are used based on their technical capabilities (quick information and immediate help was possible through the media communicating via the Internet) and target groups (Internet users are younger and the content was usually prepared with them in mind). Hypothesis 2: the main functions performed were: information, organization and fundraising – in the field of assistance to the publisher’s legal entity – has been positively verified. The Polish missionary media of social communication has been appearing since 1882. Poznanie języka jako fundament pracy misyjnej. Prace ojców białych nad gramatyką języka bemba

It was always important for the Church, that a communication between the preacher and the listener was the best; the former must be understood in such a way that the latter is moved by the words of the Gospel. Before the arrival of Europeans in Central Africa (in late nineteenth century), the Bemba people did not know any written form, and their language only had a spoken form. It was with the arrival of Europeans on the Bemba lands that the era of learning, writing, studying and classifying the language of this ethnic group began. The first Europeans to reach the Bemba area were the missionaries, the White Fathers, and it was they who, after beginning their missionary activity, began to study the Bemba language. This article presents the achievements of the White Fathers in this field and tries to explain how the process of learning the Bemba language by the White Fathers was carried out.It was always important for the Church, that a communication between the preacher and the listener was the best; the former must be understood in such a way that the latter is moved by the words of the Gospel. The purpose of the article is to show the dynamics of evangelization in the context of the culture of the peoples living in the mountainous areas of Papua New Guinea. The starting point is the history of Christianization of these areas and the rooting of Churches of various denominations there. The analysis reveals the tools of evangelization used by Catholic missionaries to penetrate the culture and traditions of the locals, which resulted in the formation of new Christian communities. The purpose of the article is to show the dynamics of evangelization in the context of the culture of the peoples living in the mountainous areas of Papua New Guinea. Inspiracje dla misyjnej działalności Kościoła w encyklikach Benedykta XVI

The analysis carried out in the article indicates the truths about the Church contained in Benedict XVI’s encyclicals, which at the same time constitute specific inspirations for the missionary work of the Church ad gentes. The Pope does not distinguish between generally separate „missionary situations” and speaks rather of a single, fundamental, inalienable mission that still stands before the Church. Sometimes, however, he evokes the activity of the Church in mission areas. He reminds and points out that the Church’s ever-present task, including the mission ad gentes, is to remind and proclaim to the contemporary world the truth about God who is love. Missionary activity is also supposed to restore hope to modern man that goes beyond the temporal order. Finally, the Church’s mission, especially in the framework of her mission ad gentes, is to care for the true progress and development of every person and of the whole human society in truth and love. The missionary activity of the community Christ’s disciples remains a special area of such presence and witness of the Church in a world which is constantly globalizing. The analysis carried out in the article indicates the truths about the Church contained in Benedict XVI’s encyclicals, which at the same time constitute specific inspirations for the missionary work of the Church ad gentes.
