Fulbe z północnego Kamerunu w drodze od Kadirijji do Tidżanijji

In northern Nigeria in the 19th century, the Fulbe cleverly exploited Islam as a motivating and justifying factor in their war against the local Muslim rulers. In this way, they managed to establish a regional power – the caliphate (sultanate) of Sokoto, which for a long period dominated the feudal structures of the Fulani in northern Cameroon. Britain and then Germany aided in the downfall of the power and unity of the Sokoto caliphate. However, neither Germany nor later on France succeeded in eradicating Fulbe dominance over other peoples (Kirdi) in northern Cameroon. This was facilitated by the adoption of an indirect system of government. No change was brought about during Cameroon\u27s years of independence. The Fulbe retained control of the state administration and beyond. Their influence, however, was challenged at the turn of the 20th century by new radical Muslim groups. These new Muslim groups embraced some of the ideas and practices that the Fulbe had previously used as weapons against them.W XIX wieku w północnej Nigerii Fulbe umiejętnie wykorzystywali islam jako siłę motywującą i usprawiedliwiającą walkę z lokalnymi muzułmańskimi władcami.

Among the many paths in life on which God places man there is undoubtedly the one that leads to the heights of holiness. It is not always easy, but certainly beautiful. Delighted by this beauty of God’s plans, Brother Jerzy Lakomiak united his paths with the Master’s dogs. Reading and responding to God’s call, he responded with his life by taking up the path of the evangelical counsels: chastity poverty and obedience following the example of St. Francis of Assisi. His love for God, the Blessed Mother, holy poverty, quiet and humble service, and a life of prayer, first in his native country and then for half a century on Argentine soil, made it possible that today among his confreres and those who knew Brother George, he is spoken of as one who exemplarily fulfilled the mission the Risen Lord entrusted to him.Among the many paths in life on which God places man there is undoubtedly the one that leads to the heights of holiness. The Poznań Foundation of Humanitarian Relief “Redemptoris Missio” originated twenty-five years ago. Its mission is to provide professional medical assistance to missionaries and mission centers. It is the first foundation which involved lay people in the missionary activity of the Catholic Church. It was also founded mostly by lay people and is still managed by them. Many lay volunteers are also engaged in its work. In this study the author describes the  genesis of the Foundation and its goals in the context of the pastoral paradigm. The analytical-critical method of its functioning was analyzed, as well as analysis of the source documents of the foundation. On the basis of the foundation\u27s activities an institutional model of secular involvement in the Church’s missionary activity is presented, which can be replicated in other pastoral centers

The article includes an attempt to describe the relationship between inculturation and the new evangelization, focusing on inculturation as a method of the new evangelization. In the literature of the subject there are many studies on inculturation in indigenous cultures of Africa or Latin America. However, there is little scientific literature on contemporary culture, which is also the subject of missionary activities of the Church. Therefore there is a need to systematize and investigate this topic. As a result of the analysis, the article shows that it is possible to use analogies in the application of inculturation, and it is possible to speak of inculturation in the new evangelization. An outline of the areas of contemporary culture is also presented which particularly require evangelization and inculturation. The article includes an attempt to describe the relationship between inculturation and the new evangelization, focusing on inculturation as a method of the new evangelization. Mormons are particularly concerned about missionary work, putting much effort into converting non-Mormons into their faith. The proposed text attempts to focus on the goals of the missionary activity of this quasi-Christian new religious movement, to explain the processes by which the Mormons formed their view of conversion and how to achieve them in daily life during missionary work at the early stages of the history of the denomination. An analysis of the idea of mission in the teaching and practice of the Church of Joseph Smith allows us to gain an understanding of the general theological and anthropological principles of modern Mormonism.Mormons are particularly concerned about missionary work, putting much effort into converting non-Mormons into their faith. Misjonarze męczennicy a wolność religijna, Warszawa 2023 (ss. 186, Uniwersyteckie Centrum Badań Wolności Religijnej UKSW w Warszawie)

The publication’s goal is to fill a void by demonstrating the value of missionary martyrdom in the context of the right to religious freedom. Furthermore, the study defends the dignity of Christians and reveals the value of the sacrifice made by the community of believers in every corner of the world, as represented in the martyrdom of missionaries. Martyrdom has been present in the Church as a form of testimony from its inception. However, it is important to remember that it is always the result of abuses of the right to life and the freedom to practise one’s faith. The purpose of this publication is to identify the current reference of the martyrdom of missionaries to religious freedom rights, as well as the causes and consequences of violations of these rights, not only by individuals, but also by representatives of various social movements or even state institutions.

The presented article takes up the issue of missionary accommodation on the example of the Church in Cuba. It is shown in both theoretical (theology, conciliar teaching, papal teaching with special reference to Pope Francis) and practical (consultation with missionaries and the author’s own experience) assumptions. The purpose of the article is to reflect pastorally on the involvement of missionaries in pastoral ministry and to identify the essential accommodative ways used by them. The final conclusions point to the need for missionaries to be creative and open-minded in their search for new ways to evangelize, and to overcome obstacles in the way of proclaiming the Good News. The presented article takes up the issue of missionary accommodation on the example of the Church in Cuba.
