Dusza i jej istnienie po śmierci według kard. Josepha Ratzingera

    No full text
The aim of the article is to present an outline of the question of the existence of the human soul after death according to Joseph Ratzinger, since the topics related to eschatology nowadays are very rarely discussed, especially the problem of the existence of the spiritual substance after death. In these considerations I will use Ratzinger’s texts taken exclusively from his Eschatology. At the beginning the essence of the concept of soul in the Bavarian theologian will be presented followed by a brief analysis of the documents of the Magisterium of the Church, which Ratzinger analyses in his reflections. The issue related to the „rehabilitation” of the concept of the soul will also be addressed, as well as the issue of the „interstate”. An important role in Ratzinger’s theology within this issue is played by its Christological aspect within the so-called „dialogical” aspect of the existence of the soul after death. Finally, the statement will be summed up, which will be combined with several conclusions.

    Metody realizacji egzystencjalnej warstwy homilii

    No full text
The homily should contribute to the transformation of the individual and, through him, to the renewal of the world. This article presents selected methods for the homily to “incorporate” the Gospel into the lives of those who hear it. The first part of the study presents the theological foundations of the existential orientation of the homily. References are made in this section to the existential dimension of the word of God and of the liturgy, and also to human life, which has been taken on and redeemed by Christ. The second part of the article presents several ways of constructing the existential aspect of a homily. It points to proclaiming the mystery of Christ as the basis for the formation of the new man, to interpreting listeners’ lives in the light of this mystery, to shaping the sacramental perception of Christian existence, to calling for the rejection of sin and for a life in union with Christ, and to encouraging the consecration of the world by permeating it with the spirit of the Gospel and turning towards God. In this study emphasis has been placed on the aspect of the homily’s content. Linguistic and formal issues, on the other hand, have been omitted. Pominięto natomiast kwestie językowe i formalne

Inconspicuous Consumption Scale: Development and Validation

    No full text
We propose a new definition of inconspicuous consumption as an individual disposition and present an instrument for measuring this variable. The article describes the successive stages of the construction of the Inconspicuous Consumption Scale (ICS). The initial set of test items was generated using the method of competent judges - qualitative and quantitative evaluation using CVR Lawshe. Next, an exploratory factor analysis was carried out using data obtained from a sample of 690 participants. In the first step, parallel analysis and the maximum average partial (MAP) criterion were conducted, while in the next step, we again performed exploratory hierarchical factor analysis using maximum likelihood ML with the promax rotation. Confirmatory structure was performed on data collected from 497 respondents (confirmatory factor analysis CFA using the robust ML estimator with the Satorra-Bentler correction). The results of a preliminary selection of items and exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses have led to the development of an instrument which measures four factors that make up the global ICS: Knowledge, Services, Experiences, and Subtle Brand Signals. Reliability and validity studies carried out in Poland in a sample of 1,330 respondents show that the ICS has satisfactory psychometric properties. We have assumed that inconspicuous consumption (IC) consists of deliberate avoidance of visibility and investments directly aimed at improving the quality of life and caring for the environment, both from a local and global perspective. Treated as an individual, relatively enduring disposition in the area of consumer behavior, it appears to be a useful construct for explainingh changes in the area of consumer behavior

The Main Goals of Law and Justice’s Historical Policy Towards Germany

    No full text
The article addresses the issue of the historical politics of the Law and Justice Party (PiS) towards Germany. This group pointed out that today in the mutual relations one could notice a growing “memory conflict” caused by a different perception of certain facts and events related to the World War II. Therefore, the leaders of this party emphasized that one of the key aspects of their actions towards Germany would be to pursue an active historical policy, which was aimed to achieve four fundamental goals: 1) counteract attempts to relativize the guilt of the Germans for the greatest crimes of World War II, 2) oppose the demands of the Prussian Trust and plans to build a Centre against Expulsions, 3) disseminate knowledge among the German society about Nazi terror against the Polish nation, 4) take up the topic of reparations for the destruction caused

How Do Personal Values Affect Boycott Participation? The Moderating Role of National Culture

    No full text
The aim of this article is to examine the relationship between personal values and participation in consumer boycotts across countries, taking into account the role of national culture. The study is based on data from the 11th round of the European Social Survey (2023–2024), covering 27 European countries and Israel (N = 46,162). Personal values were measured using Schwartz’s Portrait Values Questionnaire (PVQ-21), while national culture was described by Hofstede’s six cultural dimensions. The results confirm that self-transcendence and openness to change values along with lower levels of conservation values are associ-ated with greater involvement in boycotts. Moreover, the cultural dimension of indulgence was found to strengthen the positive influence of universalism, benevolence and self-direction values on boycott participation, suggesting that a higher tolerance for emotional expression in more indulgent countries may lead to greater boycott participation. These findings extend previous research by demonstrating that the relationship between personal values and consumer boycotts is shaped by the cultural context

Investment Attractiveness of Polish Emerging Markets Funds in the Context of Global Political and Economic Turbulence

    No full text
This article examines the investment attractiveness of Polish investment funds with a focus on emerging markets, particularly in the context of escalating global political and economic turbulence. The study analyzes funds operating within the Polish financial market whose investment strategies entail substantial exposure to emerging market economies. The article outlines the macroeconomic and geopolitical factors influencing the behaviour of these markets and provides a review of key investment performance metrics. A comparative analysis of selected funds is conducted over a period characterized by heightened volatility, driven in part by the COVID-19 pandemic, the war in Ukraine, and trade tensions among major global powers. The findings indicate that, despite elevated risk and market instability, certain Polish emerging markets funds exhibit relative resilience and potential for generating positive returns, particularly over a long-term investment horizon. The insights derived from this analysis may inform the investment decisions of both individual and institutional investors navigating an environment of increasing global uncertainty

O heglizmie „neoheglistów”: Edward Caird i Francis Herbert Bradley

The purpose of this paper is to examine the widely held belief that the so-called British Idealist movement was in fact a continuation of Hegelian idealism. As I try to show in the paper, the question of the Hegelianism of the British Idealists is not straightforward, for the British Idealist movement itself was not philosophically homogeneous. In order to demonstrate this heterogeneity, I will juxtapose the views of two British idealists who seem to occupy extreme positions when it comes to their attitude towards Hegel: Edward Caird and Francis Herbert Bradley. As I point out, Caird explicitly referred to the thought of the German idealist, developing on its basis his own philosophy whose chief problematic was social and political. On the other hand, Bradley – often regarded as the main representative of the movement – explicitly dissociated himself from Hegel’s philosophy (while emphasising its value), pointing to its theoretical limitations. What Bradley could not agree to was, above all, Hegelian panlogism and the dynamic conception of the Absolute.

The aim of this paper was to explore the relationship between the respondent’s identified type of freedom and their attitudes towards the potential decision to introduce EU COVID-19 certificates. We take the COVID-19 certificate assessments as a context for analysing the practical functioning of different types of freedom in crisis situations. A further aim is to structure attitudes towards the certificates by superimposing a grid composed of theoretical types of freedom (positive freedom and negative freedom, and ‘from’ and ‘to’ freedom). Four types of freedom were the subject of the empirical research: freedom of choice, freedom as autonomy, freedom as self-realisation and freedom as a human right used to establish the dominant type of freedom (positive freedom - negative freedom; freedom ‘from’ - freedom ‘to’) in the face of the possibility of COVID-19 certificates.

The article concerns Linda T. Zagzebski’s book Omnisubjectivity. An Essay on God and Subjectivity (2023), in which she proposes the property of omnisubjectivity as a fundamental property of God’s being, encompassing a number of other attributes (such as love, justice, omniscience, and omnipresence) and is assumed in that fundamental relationship between the human being and the Absolute represented by prayer. In my article, I would like to illustrate Zagzebski’s concept with some examples taken from Nicholas of Cusa’s work The Vision of God. In my opinion, Cusanus’ texts not only provide a rich source of examples of the concept of omnisubjectivity, but also perfectly clarify Zagzebski’s understanding of omnisubjectivity in terms of the metaphor of light.Artykuł stanowi nawiązanie do książki Lindy T. Zagzebski Omnisubjectivity.

Przywództwo z perspektywy legitymizacji i partycypacji

    Get PDF
The article analyses Jarosław Kucharski’s book Etyka przywództwa (The Ethics of Leadership, Kraków 2021). The starting point of the discussion is the author’s critical observation that Kucharski’s exclusive focus on the leader–follower relationship leads to the marginalization of the active role of followers in the decision-making process. In response, the author proposes to complement the analysis of leadership with the follower’s perspective, particularly in terms of the legitimacy of leadership and participation in the decision-making process. The analysis addresses both formal and qualitative aspects of the legitimacy of leadership, emphasizing its processual character. It also outlines direct and indirect forms of participation, including models of representation with broad and narrow scopes of involvement. The article highlights the differences between business and political leadership considering the categories of legitimacy and participation. In this context, democratic leadership is identified as a model characterized by a decentralized structure. In conclusion, the author argues that the omission of legitimacy and participation in Kucharski’s analysis fails to account for contemporary trends in management, which increasingly conceive of leadership as a multicentred, consultation-based process. Autor proponuje w związku z tym uzupełnienie analizy przywództwa o perspektywę zwolennika, w kontekście legitymizacji przywództwa i partycypacji w procesie decyzyjnym. W trakcie analiz omówiono formalne i jakościowe aspekty legitymizacji władzy, podkreślając jej procesualny charakter.
