Angleška različica zgodovinske monografije o Tonetu Kralju – prevajalska refleksija
The article sheds light on the process of translation of the historical monograph on Tone Kralj’s church paintings along the former Rapallo border written by the renowned Slovene historian, Prof Egon Pelikan. Four years and a half after the commencement of the translation process, which involved several revisions, the English version was finally published by the internationally acclaimed academic publishing house, Peter Lang. The reflection of the long and complicated translation process is based on the survey of e-correspondence with the author and on the comparison of various versions of the original and translation. The reflection involves not only linguistic and content-related aspects of translation of a humanities text from Slovene into English, but also the presentation of institutional factors that had an impact on the translation process, the quality of translation, and the life of the translator.V prispevku premislim zapleten in dolgotrajen proces prevajanja zgodovinske monografije o cerkvenih poslikavah Toneta Kralja vzdolž nekdanje rapalske meje, ki jo je napisal uveljavljeni slovenski zgodovinar dr. Egon Pelikan in ki je štiri leta in pol po začetku prevajanja izšla pri ugledni mednarodni akademski založbi Peter Lang. Refleksijo sem opravila na podlagi pregleda elektronske korespondence z avtorjem in primerjave shranjenih različic izvirnika in prevoda. Refleksija ne zajema zgolj jezikovnih in vsebinskih vidikov prevajanja humanističnega besedila iz slovenščine v angleščino, marveč tudi predstavitev institucionalnih dejavnikov, ki so vplivali na nastajanje in kakovost prevoda in na realne prevajalske življenjske razmere

The author of this contribution sets out to understand how the Slovenian nation, despite its long and storied history, appears strikingly devoid of profanities and largely lacks its own bawdy folk poetry. In particular, it attempts to establish what factors may have contributed to its continued existence in this context of pious restraint. He concludes with somewhat reluctant reflections on how this shapes both the writing and the translation of more erotically-charged texts.V svojem prispevku avtor poskuša razumeti, kako slovenski narod kljub svojim častitljivim stoletjem ostaja brez svojih kletvic, skoraj brez ljudske kosmate poezije, torej, kaj ga je ohranjalo v prvoobhajilski fazi duševnega razvoja. Možnosti kemičnega zatiranja stenice marmorirane smrdljivke (Halyomorpha halys Stål) v nasadih hrušk z integriranim varstvom rastlin
In the growing seasons of 2021 and 2022, two field experiments in a Williams pear and an Abate Fetel pear orchard were conducted at location Bilje near Nova Gorica. The effectiveness of two spraying programs for suppressing the marmorated stink bug (MSB) was analyzed. In program A, insecticides based on the active substances acetamprid, pyriproxyfen, spirotetramat, indoxacarb, lambda-cyhalothrin, and abamectin were used. In program B, insecticides based on the active substances acetamprid, pyriproxyfen, deltamethrin, phosmet, and abamectin were used, combined with alternative repellent preparations. In 2021, we had 23 % of fruit damaged by MSB in the Williams variety and 25% in the Abate Fetel variety, both in the untreated control plots. In 2022, the percentage of fruits damaged by MSB in the control plots was 30 % in the Williams variety and 30% in the Abate Fetel variety. The effectiveness of spraying program A in reducing the proportion of damaged fruit by MSB was 34 to 78 % in 2021 and 60 to 70 % in 2022. The effectiveness of spraying program B in reducing the proportion of damaged fruit was 34 to 78 % in 2021 and 60 to 70 % in 2022. We can not entirely prevent economically relevant crop losses with the tested spray programs.V sezoni 2021 in 2022 smo v nasadu hrušk sort Viljamovka in Abate Fetel v kraju Bilje izvedli dva poljska poskusa, v katerih smo analizirali učinkovitost dveh škropilnih programov za zatiranje stenice marmorirane smrdljivke. Pri programu A smo uporabili insekticide na podlagi aktivnih snovi acetamprid, piriproksifen, spirotetramat, indoksakarb, lambda- cihalotrin in abamektin, pri programu B pa smo uporabili insekticide na podlagi aktivnih snovi acetamprid, piriproksifen, deltametrin, fosmet, abamektin, v kombinaciji z alternativnimi repelentnimi pripravki na podlagi kaolina, silicija, žveplovega oksida in rastlinskih izvlečkov. V netretiranih kontrolnih parcelicah smo v letu 2021 ob obiranju pri sorti Viljamovka zabeležili 23 % poškodovanih plodov in pri sorti Abate Fetel 25 %. V letu 2022 je odstotek poškodovanih plodov v kontrolnih parcelicah znašal pri sorti Viljamovka 30 % in 30 % pri sorti Abate Fetel. Učinkovitost škropilnega programa A za zmanjšanje deleža poškodovanih plodov je v letu 2021 znašala od 34 do 78 % in v letu 2022 od 60 do 70 %. Učinkovitost škropilnega programa B za zmanjšanje deleža poškodovanih plodov je v letu 2021 znašala od 34 do 78 % in v letu 2022 od 60 do 70 %. Irritable Bowel Syndrome: Is an Effective Solution Still Elusive? Sindrom razdražljivega črevesja: ali je učinkovita rešitev še vedno tako nedosegljiva?
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is classified as a disorder of the gutbrain interaction. IBS presents an ongoing challenge for patients and healthcare professionals due to the complexity of the underlying pathophysiology. It is important to approach the patient with IBS in a stepwise manner, beginning with the exclusion of alarming symptoms and other conditions, such as inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal cancer, celiac disease, diverticulitis, carbohydrate malabsorption or maldigestion, chronic pancreatitis, neuroendocrine tumours, hyperthyroidism, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, bile acid malabsorption or idiopathic bile acid diarrhoea, and gastrointestinal infections, which often have more straightforward or effective treatment. When the diagnosis of IBS is established, the focus is on therapy aimed at alleviating symptoms, such as pain, bloating, and altered bowel habits. Management of IBS includes a strong patient-physician relationship, lifestyle modifications (physical activity and dietary changes), analysing the gut microbiota, using probiotics, pharmacologic therapy, and psychological support, including psychotherapy and stress modulation.Sindrom razdražljivega črevesja (SRČ) spada med motnje v interakciji med črevesjem in možgani ter zaradi svoje kompleksne patofiziologije predstavlja diagnostični in terapevtski izziv tako za bolnike kot tudi zdravstvene strokovnjake. K obravnavi bolnika je treba pristopiti postopno – z natančno klinično oceno, izključitvijo alarmnih simptomov in diferencialno diagnostično obravnavo drugih obolenj, kot so kronična vnetna črevesna bolezen, rak debelega črevesa in danke, celiakija, divertikulitis, malabsorbcija ogljikovih hidratov, kronični pankreatitis, nevroendokrini tumorji, hipertiroidizem, bakterijska razrast tankega črevesja in gastrointestinalne okužbe, ki jih je mogoče zdraviti bolj specifično ali uspešnejše. Po potrjeni diagnozi je terapevtski pristop usmerjen v ublažitev glavnih simptomov, kot so abdominalna bolečina, napihnjenost ter spremenjena frekvenca in konsistenca blata.
Celostno vodenje bolnika vključuje vzpostavitev trdnega terapevtskega odnosa med zdravnikom in bolnikom, spremembo življenjskega sloga (vključno s telesno vadbo in prehrano), oceno črevesne mikrobiote, uporabo probiotikov, individualno prilagojeno farmakološko terapijo ter psihološke pristope, kot sta psihoterapija in obvladovanje stresa. Kljub mnogim, že dostopnim terapevtskim možnostim, ostaja iskanje optimalne in dolgoročno učinkovite rešitve za SRČ še vedno aktualen izziv
Preučevanje preoblikovanja znanja osnovnošolskih učiteljev pri projektno zasnovanem izkustvenem učenju znanosti, tehnologije, inženirstva, umetnosti in matematike (angl. STEAM)
Successfully implementing project-based experiential science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) learning hinges on the teachers’ comprehension of fundamental concepts. This study investigates elementary school teachers’ knowledge transformation of project-based experiential STEAM learning after participating in a focused STEAM education workshop. Through an investigative exploration with the participation of five elementary school teachers, this study reveals that participating teachers better comprehend STEAM as an educational approach after the workshop. Meanwhile, their understanding of project-based learning decreased, and experiential learning remained unchanged. This study suggests an integrated form of training that equally addresses the interconnected components of STEAM, project-based, and experiential learning.Uspešno izvajanje projektnega izkustvenega učenja znanosti, tehnologije, inženirstva, umetnosti in matematike (angl. STEAM) je odvisno od učiteljevega razumevanja temeljnih konceptov. V študiji raziskujemo transformacijo znanja osnovnošolskih učiteljev o projektnem izkustvenem učenju STEAM po udeležbi na izobraževalni delavnici, osredinjeni na STEAM. S preiskovalno raziskavo, v kateri je sodelovalo pet osnovnošolskih učiteljev, ugotavljamo, da sodelujoči učitelji po delavnici bolje razumejo STEAM kot izobraževalni pristop. Medtem se je njihovo razumevanje projektnega učenja zmanjšalo, izkustveno učenje pa je ostalo nespremenjeno. Na osnovi ugotovitev predlagamo integrirano usposabljanje, ki enako obravnava medsebojno povezane komponente STEAM, projektnega in izkustvenega učenja

4D VIZUALIZACIJA TEMPERATURNEGA POLJA
Today, there are many building energy simulation systems. Most rely on theoretical thermal models and numerical simulations to improve the building design and achieve good energy-efficient living conditions. The 3D visualisation technique proposed in this paper analyses temperature distribution in a room. A room is divided into uniform grids, and the temperature field is established by calculating temperature values for each cell using an inverse distance weighted interpolation algorithm with sensor data. These cells are visualised by voxel rendering. An X3D simulation system coupled with a cost-effective set of temperature sensors can provide valuable insights into room design. A measured thermal status can lead to energy savings and improved thermal comfort with improved efficiency. The paper discusses the cost-effective and simplified process for a hardware-software prototype system that can provide real data-driven 4D thermal maps for buildings. The system can be extended to provide 4D thermal maps for more rooms and multi-storey buildings.Dandanes obstaja veliko aplikacij za energijsko simulacijo stavb in večina uporablja teoretične toplotne modele in numerične simulacije za izboljšanje zasnove stavbe in doseganje energetsko učinkovitih pogojev človeškega udobja. V tem prispevku je za analizo porazdelitve temperature v prostoru predlagana tehnika 3D vizualizacije v predpisanih časovnih okvirjih. Prostor je razdeljen na mrežo celic, temperaturno polje je izračunano z uporabo algoritma interpolacije inverzne razdalje. Iz podatkov o poziciji in vrednosti temperature v posameznem senzorju v prostoru interpoliramo vrednosti temperaturnega polja v celotnem prostoru. Za vizualizacijo uporabimo metodo upodabljanja volumetričnih slikovnih pik (voxel). Simulacijski sistem X3D skupaj s stroškovno učinkovitim naborom temperaturnih senzorjev lahko zagotovi vpogled v temperaturno polje prostora na osnovi izmerjenih temperatur. Temperaturno polje prikaže stanje temperature v celotnem prostoru v časovnih korakih, kar lahko privede do prihrankov energije, izboljšanega toplotnega udobja z izboljšano učinkovitost upravljanja klimatizacije prostora. Prispevek predstavlja učinkovit postopek za izdelavo 4D temperaturnega polja na podlagi izmerjenih podatkov. Rešitev je mogoče razširiti za časovno vizualizacijo temperaturnega polja za večnadstropne zgradbe
PRIBLIŽNI MODEL ZA DOLOČANJE UPORA POLOKROGLE OZEMLJENE ELEKTRODE, NAMEŠČENE NA VRH NEHOMOGENEGA PRISEKANEGA STOŽCA
The procedure for analysis of a hemispherical ground electrode placed at the top of a hill is presented in the paper. The mountain is modelled as a truncated cone of finite height consisting of two homogeneous areas, each having different electrical characteristics. The applied approach is a combination of several recently proposed procedures. It includes the application of the Estimation method and the use of an approximate expression in closed form. The obtained results are validated and compared with those obtained using the COMSOL program package.V prispevku je predstavljen postopek analize polkrogle ozemljitvene elektrode, nameščene na vrhu hriba. Gora je modelirana kot prisekan stožec končne višine, sestavljen iz dveh homogenih območij, od katerih ima vsako različne električne značilnosti. Uporabljeni pristop je kombinacija več nedavno predlaganih postopkov. Vključuje uporabo metode ocenjevanja in uporabo približnega izraza v zaprti obliki. Dobljene rezultate smo validirali in primerjali z rezultati, pridobljenimi s programskim paketom COMSOL
ANALITIČNA OCENA TOPLOTNE STABILNOSTI HTS-MAGNETOV MED NENADNIM PRAZNENJEM
Since the advent of 2nd-generation high-temperature superconducting (HTS) tapes, which show great features on critical temperature, critical current density, and critical magnetic field, many researchers have been trying to generate ultra-high magnetic fields using HTS coils. One more promising technology is a no-insulation (NI) winding technique. This technique suppresses the possibility of thermal runaway and burning-out of HTS coils drastically. The interest in compact nuclear fusion magnets wound with HTS conductors has been increasing rapidly during the last five years. The simulation of such magnets larger than MRI/NMR HTS magnets takes an unfeasibly long time. Therefore, we present a simple expression of the coil temperature rise under a simple assumption derived from the simple coil model, to investigate the stability of large-scale magnets. The method’s advantages are simplicity, versatility, and nearly no computation, enabling a time reduction in the first-cut design.Od pojava superprevodnih trakov druge generacije, ki delujejo pri visokih temperaturah (HTS) in ki izkazujejo izjemne značilnosti v smislu kritične temperature, gostote kritičnega toka in kritičnega magnetnega polja, si številni raziskovalci prizadevajo za generiranje ultravisokih magnetnih polj z uporabo HTS-tuljav. Obetavna tehnologija na tem področju je tehnika navijanja brez izolacije (NI). Ta pristop znatno zmanjša tveganje za termični preboj in izgorevanje HTS-tuljav. V zadnjih petih letih opažamo večje zanimanje za kompaktne magnete jedrske fuzije, ki so naviti s HTSprevodniki. Simulacija takih magnetov, večjih od HTS-magnetov, uporabljenih v MRI-/NMRnapravah, zahteva neizvedljivo dolg čas. Zato v tem članku predstavljamo preprost izraz za opis dviga temperature tuljave, ki temelji na preprosti predpostavki, izpeljani iz osnovnega modela tuljave, s ciljem raziskovanja stabilnosti magnetov velikih dimenzij. Glavne prednosti predlagane metode so njena preprostost, univerzalnost in minimalna potreba po računskih operacijah, kar omogoča skrajšanje časa začetnega načrtovanja
