Purpose: The study was conducted to review the legal status of the formation of AZT, analyze the implications of the AZT for the implementation of zakat law in Indonesia, and discuss the contribution of the AzT in the zakat management process, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.   Design/methodology/data analysis: This type of empirical law research combines normative law research by reviewing laws and related literary sources and empirical legal research conducted by field research on several mosques, schools, and Islamic hostel schools in Semarang City. Data is collected through FGD, documentation, observations, and interviews, then analyzed through improvement, description, and interpretation of data.   Findings: The research results show that Amil Zakat Tiban's existence is considered valid if no UPZ (Baznas) or Amil Zakat institutions have had permission from the Office of the Ministry of Religion. Based on supplies, Amil Zakat Tiban is an ad hoc agency that collects and distributes the zakat and reports it transparently. Amil Zakat Tiban is implicit in implementing the Zakat law by providing ease for the community in paying the zakat and reducing the workload of BAZNAS and UPZ, which have flexibility of reach. Although the existence of Amil Zakat Tiban is controversial, he contributed to the management of zakat and its equal distribution to the society that did not get the attention of the Philanthropic Institution, especially to the people who suffered dismissal (PHK) at the time of the Covid-19 pandemic.   Originality/value: This study fills gaps in research on zakat, especially studies on the existence of private religious institutions formed by communities with strong local wisdom values, let alone many areas that are not accessible by BAZNAS.   Practical implications: The existence of Amil Zakat Tiban is very necessary for the community, both muzaki and mustahik in managing zakat funds, especially during the fasting month (Ramadhan) and Idhul Fitr. Even though its presence has not yet received legal legality, people still trust AZT in distributing their zakat funds

Objective: The present study aims to provide insights into practitioners’ acceptance and readiness toward GHRM practices in the context of an Indonesian state-owned TIC company. Theoretical framework: This research’s conceptual model was constructed according to the previous literature on GHRM. Acceptance is assessed through GHRM practices (recruitment, training, performance, rewards, and involvement), whereas readiness involves appropriateness, management support, change efficacy, and personal benefit.   Methods: A survey instrument was designed based on GHRM practices identified through qualitative methods and quantitative assessments by 25 practitioners working in the company. The data collected was descriptively analyzed using the SPSS software package. Phase I measures the acceptance, if a certain value is achieved, it will proceed to Phase II, assessing the readiness for GHRM.   Findings: Phase I results showed that the acceptance degree was high (3.87). Then, proceed to Phase II, which shows that the readiness degree was also high (4.00). This concludes that the state-owned TIC company observed has accepted and is ready to implement GHRM practices.   Implications of the research: The research helps the TIC industry’s practitioners to develop GHRM implementation strategies and expands the literature on GHRM research for academics. Originality and value: This study investigates the acceptance and readiness for GHRM implementation in the Indonesian TIC industry. By addressing practitioners' viewpoints, this research utilizes quantitative measures to determine their acceptance and readiness toward various GHRM practices

Work stress in the police itself is important to pay attention to because work stress in the police profession has a negative impact on the quality of relations between the police and the community. In general, work stress is strongly influenced by resilience, self-efficacy and self-esteem. This research was then carried out with the aim of seeing the influence of resilience, self-efficacy and self-esteem on work stress through the work-life balance variable.   Method: The research will be carried out using a descriptive quantitative approach. The data analysis technique used in this research is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The nature of this research is to determine and explain the influence of the independent variable on the dependent variable, both directly and indirectly through intervening variables.   Results: This research began by carrying out instrument tests. The results of the validity test state that all variables are valid. The results of the reliability test show that all variables are reliable. Only after the variables are declared valid, then Structural Equation Modeling Analysis, Construct Reliability (CR) and Average Variance Extracted tests, Goodness of Fit tests, and hypothesis tests will be carried out.   Conclusion: This research shows that Resilience, Self-Efficacy, and Self-Esteem have a significant impact on the Work-Life Balance and Work Stress of National Police members in the General Criminal Investigation Directorate and the South Sumatra Regional Police's Narcotics Investigation Directorate. Apart from that, Resilience also has a significant impact on Job Stress through Work-Life Balance as an intervening variable, while Self-Efficacy does not have a significant impact on Job Stress through Work-Life Balance as an intervening variable. Lastly, Self-Esteem and Work-Life Balance significantly influence the level of Job Stress of Police officers in the same area

    No full text
Background: One primary cause of air pollution is the internal combustion engine (ICE), causing a structural change in society from conventional cars to Electric Vehicles (EVs). This transition period demands that automotive component companies be innovative according to the changing dynamics of EV technology. Open Innovation (OI) develops as an approach to fastening the trajectory by involving various stakeholders in this process. The successful adoption of OI requires a deep understanding of the employee's competencies in these companies to be effective. As a result, empirical studies have been performed to determine employee proficiency levels in various company scales.   Methods: The study was conducted by comparing four automotive component companies with different scales. Data was obtained from the questionnaires that were distributed to employees at each company and collected from December 2023 to January 2024. The study assessed three open innovation competencies, entrepreneurial, cooperation, and creativity competency. Then hypothesis testing was carried out using the Kruskal Wallis H-test method.   Results: The findings indicate that the company scale of the automotive component companies does not affect the proficiency levels of employee competencies in implementing open innovation.   Conclusions: The OI implementation process can be carried out in micro, small, medium, and large companies with employees who have competencies that support the implementation of OI

    No full text
Objective: Goal 6.2 of the SDGs emphasizes the importance of safe sanitation and ending open defecation in promoting health and well-being. This study analyzes health communication strategies for ending open defecation (OD) in a riverside community and identifies communication elements impeding the outcome.   Methodology:. Using a qualitative approach, the data were collected through a forum group discussion (FGD), in-depth interviews, and observations. Fourteen people attended the FGD, including village government leaders, community and religious leaders, health cadres, people with OD habits,  a midwife. Eight people were interviewed, including the head of the primary health center, the head of the environmental health division at Malang District Health Office, village government leaders, community and religious leaders, a sanitarian, and people with OD habits.   Findings: The triggering method was combined with a customized communication strategy to promote OD behavior change.  The study identifies challenges to achieving promotion objectives, such as villagers' distrust of some assisting team members due to a lack of training or workshops, the 'no subsidy' messages were ineffective because the local government granted latrine for the poor before, the use of face-to-face communication as a sole channel was found ineffective due to unreliable sources and a large number of participants, there is no regulation to sustain behavioral change.   Suggestions: This study recommends training or workshops for community members who serve as the triggering team, encouraging self-built latrines through a financing plan and latrine models tailored to villagers' capabilities and preferences, combining face-to-face communication with villagers' preferred media, and issuing a regulation governing penalties for offenders
