Objective: The purpose of this study is to understand community participation in the preservation activities of historical heritage. This research was conducted on the community of Garut district in West Java, Indonesia, focusing on the handling of local cultural products from the past that have become tourist attractions.   Theoretical Framework: In this research, the theory of participation from Sherry R Arnstein is used, which divides into eight sub-levels and three main levels: low or non-participation level, moderate or tokenism level, and high participation or citizen power level.   Research Method: The method used in this study is a case study that examines cultural heritage in the form of objects, locations, manuscripts, and texts with historical significance. Our investigation includes the Holy Tomb of Godog, Holy Tomb of Sunan Cipancar, Sacred Tomb of Raden Papak, and Prehistoric Site of Pasir Lulumpang.   Research Findings: Community involvement in the preservation of ancient manuscripts is only carried out by the owners of the manuscripts. The general public is unable to participate due to difficult access, as the manuscript owners are not open to the wider community. Additionally, there is a role for families in preserving ancestral heritage, which includes annual routine activities and forming associations with descendants of the family tomb.   Conclusion: Community participation in the preservation activities of historical heritage seems to be low. This is evident from the many historical heritages still kept within the community and not yet reported to the government or other relevant parties for the preservation of these historical values

Purpose: Indonesia is a country that still experiences problems in waste management, even ranking second in the world in terms of plastic waste in the sea. The waste problem also occurs in Bali, which is a province in Indonesia and is famous as a world tourist destination. Even though the tourism industry places cleanliness and beauty as the main elements. Realizing this, the government has issued various regulations and programs to tackle the waste problem in Bali. This research aims to analyze the public's response to waste management regulations based on probability rules.   Theoretical framework: As settlements develop, waste management becomes more complex. So when the government and regional governments issue regulations related to waste and waste management, then if what is stated in the regulation is followed by waste management that is good for the environment, economically sustainable for a particular area and socially acceptable then it will certainly be followed and implemented by public.   Methods: Where the analysis is carried out with the SMIC-Prob tool. Furthermore, a policy path (with MULTIPOL analysis) was also prepared to map each policy and action so that it fits into the three scenarios previously identified, namely source-based waste management, communal-based waste management, and government waste management.   Findings: The results of the probability analysis (SMIC-Prob) show that the community's response to waste management regulations is to manage waste through TPS3R, and it can be said that the community still relies on waste management outside the household. Meanwhile, the results of the MULTIPOL analysis show that for source-based waste management and by the government, policies are needed in the construction of waste management facilities. Meanwhile, in communal-based waste management, the priority policies are institutional strengthening and community empowerment.   Implications: The policy path has provided an overview of policy mapping and actions if waste management is source-based, communal-based, and implemented by the government. Where for source-based waste management and by the government, policies are needed in the construction of waste management facilities. Meanwhile, in communal-based waste management, the priority policies are institutional strengthening and community empowerment

    Get PDF
Objective: The purpose of this study is to optimize the optimal location and number of distribution warehouses in the face of a significant decrease in the allocation of subsidized Urea and NPK fertilizers.  This research is conducted on subsidized fertilizers with multi-product characteristics (Urea and NPK fertilizers), multi-period (2021-2022), and uncertainty (government policy on allocation). The objectives of this study are produce a distribution network design model and optimize the number and location of warehouses needed to minimize total logistics costs.   Methods: This research uses a quantitative approach in solving the problems faced by companies. To obtain the lowest logistics cost, optimization calculations are performed via model development. The model employed is mixed integer linear programming, which employs a combination of multi-source capacitated models, multi-product models, and multi-stage models. Furthermore, by examining storage consumption, the optimization calculation may be utilized to estimate the existing amount of storage facilities. The anticipated goal is to reduce logistical costs and enhance warehouse usage for storing subsidized fertilizer.   Results: The results of this study from 43 warehouses to 33 warehouses located in East Java Province with operational savings costs that can be obtained by PT Petrokimia Gresik amounting to IDR 1,863,794,700

    Get PDF
Objective: This study aims to investigate the impact of tax planning, deferred taxation, and excellent corporate governance on firm value, with earnings management serving as a mediating variable.   Methods: Regression analysis is used in this study. Textile and garment subsector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2014 to 2021 comprise the research sample.   Results: According to the findings of the study, tax planning and excellent corporate governance have a positive and significant effect on earnings management, whereas deferred taxes have no effect on profits management. Other findings indicate that tax preparation, effective corporate governance, and earnings management all have a positive and significant impact on firm value. However, deferred tax has a considerable negative impact on firm value. Mediation testing shows that earnings management significantly mediates the effect of tax planning and good corporate governance on firm value. However, earnings management does not significantly mediate the effect of deferred taxes on firm value.   Conclusions: Conflicts of interest in tax management occur between firm management and tax authorities (tax officials) in the context of tax planning and deferred tax based on agency theory. A conflict of interest develops when company management, which is responsible for managing the firm efficiently, attempts to reduce tax payments in order to boost company earnings. Tax officials, on the other hand, strive to maximize tax collection in compliance with current laws and regulations

    Get PDF
Purpose: The aim of this research is to identify problems and evaluate the effectiveness of institutions in irrigation management in the Bena region, as well as understand the impact on farmers. This research also aims to provide comprehensive information about institutional governance and behavior of the government, private sector and community in irrigation management, as well as identifying strategies to increase the effectiveness of water management in the future.   Theoretical Framework: The theoretical framework for this research includes the following concepts: clean water crisis, the link between water availability and food security, governance paradigms, the concept of sustainable development, the role of irrigation management institutions, institutional challenges, conflict and inefficiency in the allocation of water resources, and principles -environmental principles. This theoretical framework helps analyze water management problems in the Bena irrigation area and develop recommendations to improve the effectiveness of water management in the future.   Design/Methodology/Approach: The research was carried out using the descriptive analysis method, namely, by displaying or explaining clearly and in detail the conditions and realities in the region's irrigation management institutions.   Results: The results of the research show that there is no synergy between primary, secondary, and tertiary channels, increasing irrigation water conflicts, implementation of planting procedures without paying attention to water management conditions, construction results are not followed by asset management due to lack of budget allocation, and the empowerment, strengthening and participation of institutional water user farmer associations (P3A) has not been optimal so that the capacity of local governments, especially districts, in managing Bena water resources and irrigation is not optimal. Therefore, it is recommended that in the institutional context of irrigation management, each party involved must complement each other's work culture framework so that no one party dominates the running of the water governance. It is strong enough to replace the hierarchy.   Research, practical and social implications: The implications of this research include: providing an analytical model of water governance, identification of water governance challenges, recommendations for the adoption of customary water management practices, emphasis on stakeholder involvement in policy making, cultural adaptation and integration, and increased communication and collaboration. It provides a platform for researchers and policymakers to improve the effectiveness of water governance, while strengthening community engagement and paying attention to local cultural values.   Originality/Value: The originality of this research lies in the application of a new water governance analysis model, identification of specific challenges in water governance, recommendations for adopting indigenous water management practices, emphasis on stakeholder engagement, cultural adaptation, and improved communication and collaboration. It makes an important contribution to enriching understanding of water governance and offers practical guidance for improving the effectiveness and sustainability of water management at the local level
