Enhancing learning environments with IoT: a novel decision-making approach using probabilistic linguistic T-spherical fuzzy set

    No full text
The Internet of Things is a system of networked devices that can gather, process, and share data through the Internet. The Internet of Things has vast potential to spread widely across various aspects of our lives. The educational process model is undergoing a transformation in which the learning requirements for different students must be fulfilled in various ways. Our study presents a novel multi-attribute group decision-making strategy that examines how the Internet of Things can help to provide the best learning environment while also making the educational process more effective. The probabilistic linguistic T-spherical fuzzy set (PLT-SFS) is a modification of the T-spherical fuzzy set in which the degrees of membership, abstinence, and non-membership are characterized by probabilistic linguistic terms. Then two new aggregation operators, the PLT-SF weighted power average (PLT-SFWPA) operator and the PLT-SF weighted power geometric (PLT-SFWPG) operator, are introduced. After that, an approach to multi-attribute group decision-making based on the analytic hierarchy process is constructed in which the data are aggregated by the PLT-SFWPA operator. To illustrate the validity of the proposed approach, a case study of nine Internet of Things applications for enhancing learning environments is provided

A multi-objective optimization of contamination algorithm for a contaminated region

    No full text
Introduction: This work considers an industrial ecology problem under the framework of semi-infinite optimization. Objective: The objective is to resolve the conflict between pollutant emissions and environmental standards for the areas within a given region. Methodology: A version of the SIP2 algorithm is proposed, which simultaneously allows for a reduction in pollution while also enabling an increase in emissions from sources. This approach provides a certain degree of flexibility in managing pollution and the factors that cause it in the industry, while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. Results: The results of two algorithms show different roles of the sources in obtaining the total pollution and, therefore, the need for changes in their emissions. Conclusions: The proposed algorithm offers more cost-effective solutions in infrastructure design evaluations for areas with conflicting interests, such as maintenance or increasing production (indirectly measured by emissions generated from the production system), while ensuring compliance with restrictive environmental regulations.

Trabajadoras sexuales y su relación contractual

    No full text
In the name religious rites, obtain tributes and financial aid for the temples and the Gods, receiving the name of sacred prostitutes and being subject who can acquire property and receive inheritance. With the adoption of Christianity, these practices were abolished and the temples were demolished. Since then, society has repudiated and stigmatized sex workers in the social and family environment. Their fundamental and labor rights have been violated, despite being the oldest profession. This activity has not been recognized with a job at least in labor legislation, which is why we will carry out an analysis of the social, cultural, jurisprudential background and Colombian legal system. The Court identified sex work as a legal act and recognized its fundamental rights in ruling T 629 of 2010. Later, in ruling T 594 of 2016, it ordered the State to create public policies and labor legislation to guarantee the well-being of this vulnerable population.Capítulo I 10 -- Planteamiento de Problema 10 -- Formulación del Problema 10 -- Justificación 11 -- Objetivos 12 -- Objetivo General 12 -- Objetivos Específicos12 -- Marco Metodológico de la Investigación13 -- Enfoque de la Investigación13 -- Tipo de Investigación14 -- Marco Teórico15 -- Capítulo II 26 -- Antecedentes de la Investigación 26 -- Referencia Histórica del Trabajo sexual 28 -- Capitulo III 32 -- Trabajo Sexual en el Ordenamiento Jurídico Colombiano 32 -- Antecedentes Legales 32 -- Legislación Internacional 38 -- Antecedentes Jurisprudenciales 39 -- Sentencia T 620 de 1995 39 -- Sentencia SU 476 de 1997 40 -- Sentencia T 629 de 2010 41-- Sentencia T 736 de 2015 43 -- Sentencia T 594 de 2016 44 -- Sentencia T 073 de 2017 46 -- Capitulo IV 47 -- Trabajo sexual y su protección como garantías 47 -- Estado Social de Derecho 47 -- Dignidad Humana 48 -- Derecho al Trabajo 50 -- Contrato Laboral 51 -- Elementos del Contrato de Trabajo 52 -- Actividad personal 52 -- Subordinación personal 53 -- Salario como retribución 53 -- Contrato Realidad 53 -- Contrato por prestación de Servicios 54 -- Trabajo Sexual 55 -- Dependiente 56 -- Independiente 56 -- Modelos Webcam 56 -- Capítulo V 57 -- Análisis caso Sentencia T 594 de 2016 57 -- Conclusiones 63 -- Referencias 64Abogado(a)Pregrad

    No full text
Introduction: The power supplied to the load through the distribution network comes mainly from conventional energy sources. However, a transformation is being made towards sustainable and efficient electricity networks, which incorporate distributed renewable energy sources and closer to consumption. This process has led to the investigation of the effects that the inclusion of distributed energy resources brings, which have shown power quality issues. However, more studies are required to show more detailed effects and the use of new tools such as real-time simulation. Objective: This paper uses real-time simulation to evaluate the impact on the power quality produced by integrating distributed energy resources (DER) into a distribution network. Method: The IEEE 13-node test feeder system was used to evaluate voltage harmonics, current harmonics, flicker, and DC injection based on the IEEE 1547-2018, IEEE 519-2014, and the NTC 5001-2008 standards. The feeder test system was implemented in the Hypersim software and used to run real-time simulations. Results: The results show that integrating distributed energy resources into the network produces a high impact on the current harmonics of the network. Conclusions: The DC injection phenomenon presents a medium impact, and flickers and voltage harmonics present a lower impact

Generating real-world evidence in Alzheimer's disease: Considerations for establishing a core dataset

    No full text
Ongoing assessment of patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) in postapproval studies is important for mapping disease progression and evaluating real-world treatment effectiveness and safety. However, interpreting outcomes in the real world is challenging owing to variation in data collected across centers and specialties and greater heterogeneity of patients compared with trial participants. Here, we share considerations for observational postapproval studies designed to collect harmonized longitudinal data from individuals with mild cognitive impairment or mild dementia stage of disease who receive therapies targeting the underlying pathological processes of AD in routine practice. This paper considers key study design parameters, including proposed aims and objectives, study populations, approaches to data collection, and measures of cognition, functional abilities, neuropsychiatric status, quality of life, health economics, safety, and drug utilization. Postapproval studies that capture these considerations will be important to provide standardized data on AD treatment effectiveness and safety in real-world settings

A multi-stage interval optimization approach for operation of the smart multi-carries energy system considering energy prices uncertainty

    No full text
This study presents a approach to optimize the operation of the smart multi-carrier energy system (SMCES) in residential consumers taking into account the uncertain nature of gas and electrical prices. The optimal operation of the SMCES is implemented using a multi-stage interval optimization approach with a multifunctional hydrogen storage system and demand-side management. Modeling optimization approach as three-stage is done for minimizing operation costs of the SMCES under energy prices uncertainty. The demand-side management based on load-shifting and load-interruption approaches for electrical demand in the residential buildings for the first and second stages is considered, respectively. The load-shifting for electrical demand is modeled subject to optimal consumption at day-ahead. Also, load-interruption approach is implemented for peak clipping of electrical demand subject to bidding prices from energy operator to residential consumers. In the third stage optimization, uncertainty of the electricity and gas prices in the operation cost with multi-criteria problem such as deviation and average rates by interval optimization approach is modeled. The modified electrical demand in the first and second stages is linked in the third stage for managing uncertainties. Moreover, multifunctional hydrogen storage system based on gas and electrical generation alongside demand-side management in third stage optimization for covering uncertainties is taken into account. The improved sunflower optimization algorithm is used to solve all stages, and the TOPSIS method is proposed for choosing the best trade-off of the multiple-criteria problem in the third stage. Finally, the suggested optimization modeling is represented in the several case studies to validate the achieved results with participation of the demand-side management and hydrogen storage system in day-ahead optimal operation of the SMCES. The participation of the demand-side management and the hydrogen storage systems leads to minimizing the deviation and average rates by 2.14% and 2.64% in comparison with non-participation

Comparative characterization of gum rosins for their use as sustainable additives in polymeric matrices

    No full text
There is a growing interest in the use of non-polluting compounds, which come from renewable sources, and which performance in their scope is equivalent to their synthetic similes. In this work, five types of rosins from different sources were studied, verifying the existence of differences that can be inferred in their subsequent use and application as material additives. For the study, rosins were analyzed using gas-mass chromatographic techniques, infrared spectrophotometry (FTIR), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and color characterization. The results showed that the samples are composed of either abietic acid or by its structural isomers in contents higher than 80%. FTIR shows that the main difference in the gum rosins is related to the proclivity to absorb environmental moisture and that this technique is not enough to differentiate them. Moreover, the DSC reveals that the gum rosins present enthalpy relaxation effects due to their manufacturing process. The TGA showed that gum rosins are thermally stable until 200°C, therefore they can be successfully blended with thermoplastic polymers. Finally, the color characterization shows little differences between the samples, being CA the gum rosin with the greatest total color differences.Pavón, Cristina-will be generated-orcid-0000-0003-2902-0059-600Aldás, Miguel-will be generated-orcid-0000-0003-3491-6618-600Hernández-Fernández, JoaquínLópez Martínez, Juan-will be generated-orcid-0000-0001-6124-2108-60
