Media discourse participates in the persistence of status in terms of gender. It produces and reproduces cyber violence. The biopolitical devices ofdigitization exercise discipline through complex and dispersed mechanisms. It not only emanates directly from them, but scales, drifts, and sustains itselfon the physical-virtual continuum. The media generate ideology through the spectacularization of the news message, especially in events linked to sexistviolence. Gender disinformation is profitable. But the press has the ability to influence to modify a regulatory system that does not take into accountgender, class, or racialization. The influence of feminist theory in recent years also within newsrooms and measures such as the establishment of gender editors, an expert figure who has not yet penetrated the galician media, creates a window of opportunity for change.O discurso mediático participa na persistencia do estatus en termos de xénero. Produce e reproduce ciberviolencias.
AN ISSUE ON LEGAL PERSONALITY OF COOPERATIVES IN FRAMEWORK ACT ON COOPERATIVES IN SOUTH KOREA: ITS SIDE EFFECT AND DIRECTION FOR REVISION
This article explores an issue on legal personality of cooperatives under the Framework Act on Cooperatives (FAC) in the Republic of Korea. The FAC definescooperatives as “legal entity” and social cooperatives as “non-profit corporation”. This division led to considerable confusion in Korea in terms of the co-operatives’ practices between profit-making ones and non-profit ones, and it is necessary to resolve this juridical segmentation. This article traces background of FAC which created this legal segmentation and suggests the unification of both co-operatives as “cooperative entity” with the aim of allowing them to be certified or registered as “social cooperatives” when they yield high social value. This article explores an issue on legal personality of cooperatives under the Framework Act on Cooperatives (FAC) in the Republic of Korea.
This paper aims to delve into the critical formation of your readers (Eco, 2003) which involves the book O colar de Pérolas (2004), by Graziela Bozano Hetzel, illustrated by Andréia Resende. Reception theories (Jauss, 1979, 1994; Iser, 1996, 1999) will be applied. This contemporary work was selected due to its aesthetic value in verbal and imagery language, its treatment of psychological themes, its dialogue with the literary canon, and its communicability with the implicit reader (Iser, 1999). This text suggests the hypothesis that critical reading can perform a social function (Jauss, 1994), as it allows young readers to review and expand their expectations by means of reflection.
The writer Joan Barceló (1955–1980) was one of the emerging young talents who transformed the children’s and young adult literature of his time. Barceló wrote three plays: Científicament s’ha demostrat... (1977), Viatge enllunat (1981) and Olor de cebes (1984). The present article places his work in a renewal framework of children’s and youth theatre in Catalan in the late 1970s and early 1980s, especially by means of the theatre cycles “per a nois i noies” (for boys and girls) run by the magazine Cavall Fort. The article examines a small corpus of original works by six of Barceló’s contemporaries: Joaquim Carbó, Josep Maria Carandell, Joana Raspall, Joan Ballester, Martí Olaya, and Jaume Batiste. Specifically, it focuses on the lessons and experiences that these plays provide, the imaginary and fantasy spaces in which they are set, and the exemplary heroes and the poor role models they offer. Finally, the article analyses Barceló’s three works in greater depth, comparing them with those of his contemporaries, showing that their originality lies in the marked politically revolutionary fantasy, in line with the poetics supported by Gianni Rodari in his Grammatica della fantasia (1973).El escritor Joan Barceló (1955-1980) fue una de las jóvenes promesas de la renovación de la literatura infantil y juvenil de su tiempo.

The marketing strategy behind Jennifer’s Body capitalized on Megan Fox’s emerging status as a sex symbol. As a result of this, many reviewers criticised it for not fulfilling their male fantasies. Ten years after its release, Jennifer’s Body is now interpreted as a feminist story. This essay explores the limits and contradictions of these readings through an analysis of the depiction of female monstrosity in the film. It starts with the establishment of a theoretical framework on the representation of female monsters in horror cinema and of the monstrous teenage girl. The analysis will be structured in three parts. The first examines the use of irony and self-consciousness in the satanic ritual scene in relation to the film’s portrayal of male violence. The second part reads Jennifer’s monstrosity as a result of her neoliberal, over-sexualised femininity. The last section explores the relationship between Jennifer and her friend Needy, which makes both of them monstrous in their own distinctive manners. This essay posits Jennifer’s Body and its representation of the monstrous feminine as both a feminist denunciation of a patriarchal system and a perpetuation of the same clichés the film wants to subvert.
U-shaped trajectories in an L2 context: Evidence from the acquisition of verb morphology
This study explores U-shaped behaviour in the acquisition of irregular verb morphology across three groups of Norwegian L2 learners of English. This phenomenon is especially interesting due to its significance for the organization and division between the mental lexicon and grammar. We hypothesized that if U-shaped behaviour was observable, then we would find significant differences in participants’ performance accuracy levels in conjunction with overregularization errors. We report results on the acquisition of irregular verb morphology, in addition to mean reaction times on different types of responses (accurate responses and overregularized ones). The final analysis includes data from participants from the 8 th grade (N=17), 9 th grade (N=19), and 10 th grade (N=15). We report results of the acquisition of irregular verbs, in addition to reaction latencies. Participants responded to an elicitation task to test performance on 40 items. The results are consistent with the later stages of U-shaped learning. We found an increase in overall accuracy co-occurring with a decrease in overregularization errors. We propose that the existence of U-shaped behaviour in the L2 is indicative of a general underlying input-driven learning pattern, and that this process is an integral part of acquiring knowledge upon exposure to irregularities in a productive paradigm.
Dead or To Death? On Translating into Spanish the Semantico-Pragmatic Implications Derived from the English Resultative Construction
The almost complete non-existence in Spanish of the remarkably productive English resultative construction with dead/to death, together with the semantico-pragmatic connotations entailed by the choice of each of these two attributes, bring to the fore in the present paper a syntactic and semanticopragmatic contrastive analysis of this peculiar structure. Our objective is twofold: (a) to prove that both attributes are in complementary distribution and cannot -be, consequently, systematically interchanged: specifically, that the adjectival alternative is required when the verb it complements ensures "death" outside the resultative pattern and that its prepositional counterpart is chosen, in tum, when "death" is not guaranteed by the semantics of the verbal constituent; and (b) to explain how the aforementioned pragmatic contrast is translated into Spanish: whereas in English such a pragmatic contrast is formally encoded, in Spanish it is morphologically expressed through singular/plural number in the translation of the English verb
In today’s societies mediatized by virtuality, it is essential to investigate the sociolinguistic and discursive aspects of language phenomena within this context that makes and is made through the discourse and interactions of its users. Thus, in this paper, we will investigate the sociolinguistic representations that users create on social media around an emerging linguistic phenomenon: non-binary language.
We will take into account the definition of sociolinguistic representations proposed by Arnoux and del Valle (2010). This concept refers to both linguistic objects and the subjects with which they are associated, so it implies social evaluations (Bourdieu, 1999) of discourses and speakers; in this way, it will serve us to account for those representations that some users build about non-binary language (and those who use it) in their interactions on Instagram.
These interactions will be specifically observed in the comments of news publications on non-binary language taken from five Argentine newspapers that publish their news on Instagram. In this sense, the commentary appears as an incipient discursive genre typical of social media that transcends the mere social relationship, since its goal is the explicit manifestation of opinions (Sal Paz, 2016). This led us to wonder about the particular characteristics of virtual scriptures (Giorgi, 2018; Tabachnik and De Porta, 2019) and their impact on the dissemination of certain types of discourses. In these we perceive what Giorgi (2018: 56) calls the language of hate, expressed through representations that turn comments into a violent zone “of expressive forms and places of subjectivation decisive in the landscape of our time”. This situation activates a “rhetoric of insult” (Tabachnik, 2012) that we will try to unravel from our analysis. We present a classification of the representations found starting with the construction of categories of our own, and find that sociolinguistic representations appear as “reactions” of hatred towards non-binary language and those who use it.En las sociedades actuales mediatizadas por la virtualidad, resulta central investigar los aspectos sociolingüísticos y discursivos de los fenómenos de la lengua dentro de este contexto que hace y se hace a través del discurso y de las interacciones de sus usuarixs.
