No Verás: Genealogía De La Violencia En “La parte De Los Crímenes” De 2666 De Roberto Bolaño
Get PDFREUMENEn este artículo abordaremos las representaciones de las fobias explicitadas en “La parte de los crímenes”, cuarto capítulo de 2666 (2004) de Roberto Bolaño y la función fenomenológica y epistemológica que ellas cumplen. Profundizaremos en tres de los tras-tornos consignados: la sacrofobia, la ginefobia y la optofobia, haciendo hincapié en esta última fobia como fuente de producción de violencia sobre el cuerpo de la mujer. Junto con reflexionar las causas del estado mental en el norte de México implícito en la novela estudiada, analizaremos los efectos en el cuerpo de las mujeres violentadas en la ficción la ciudad Santa Teresa; la violencia organizada de la que es víctima y el uso lingüístico que se hace de su cuerpo, acto relacionado íntimamente al narcotráfico.ABSTRACTIn this article we will approach the representations of the explicit phobias in “La parte de los crímenes”, fourth chapter of 2666 (2004) of Roberto Bolaño and the function phenomenological and epistemological that they fulfill. We will penetrate into three of the recorded disorders: the sacrophobia, the gynophobia and the optophobia, emphasizingin the latter phobia as source of production of violence on the body of the woman. Together with thinking over the reasons of the implicit mental condition in the north of Mexico in the studied novel, we will analyze the effects in the body of the women “viol(ent)adas” in the fictional city Santa Teresa; the violence organized of the one that is victim and the linguistic use that is done of his body, act related intimately to the drug traffic
Hacia Una Educación Como Ética
Get PDFRESUMENEste artículo ofrece una interpretación de la educación a la que se concibe como un ejercicio eminentemente ético orientado a rescatar la memoria de las víctimas del olvido al que se las pretende condenar. La ética no se concibe en todo caso como una rama cualquiera de la filosofía sino como la “Filosofía primera”. Siguiendo esta directriz se enfrenta el desafío que supone el mal a una ética que quiere situarse más allá de los relativismos culturales. Para lo anterior se escoge Auschwitz, no como una fecha histórica más, sino como símbolo que da que pensar (Ricoeur). También se presenta la contraposición entre “ética” y “moral” priorizando en caso de conflicto entre ambas a la primera por sobre la segunda. Igual cosa se hace con la problemática relación entre la justicia y el derecho privilegiándose la primera por sobre el segundo.ABSTRACTThis article provides an interpretation of education which is conceived as an exercise eminently ethical aimed to rescue the memory of the victims of the forgotten who is them to condemn. Ethics is not intended in any case as a branch of philosophy but as the “first philosophy”. Following this guideline faces the challenge that it is evil to an ethic that wants to be beyond the cultural relativisms. For the above chosen Auschwitz, not as a historical date, but as a symbol that gives to think (Ricoeur). Also is the contrast between “ethics” and “moral” prioritizing in the event of conflict between the two the first above the second. Same thing is done with the problematic relationship between the judiciary and the law favoring the first above the second

Get PDFRESUMENEste artículo es parte de la tesis que entregué a la Universidad de Lancaster, Inglaterra para obtener el grado de Magíster en Estudios del Discurso y ha sido modificado para cumplir con las limitaciones de espacio requeridas por esta revista. Este estudio analiza la forma en la cual el movimiento estudiantil chileno fue lingüísticamente construido y representado por periódicos políticamente adversos (El Siglo y El Mercurio, respectivamente) durante una de las protestas más violentas y reprimidas de agosto, 2011. Realicé un análisis crítico de la cobertura escrita de dicha manifestación usando el Enfoque Discurso-Histórico creado por Dr. Ruth Wodak y Dr. Martin Reisigl, utilizando simultáneamente distintos enfoques usados en las ciencias sociales para el estudio de los movimientos sociales tales como sociología, estudios sobre medios de comunicación y la lingüística para lograr los objetivos de mi investigación. Mientras que el sesgo ideológico de estos medios comunicacionales es incuestionable al cubrir movimientos sociales, este estudio también evidencia las grandes diferencias de poder cuando se trata de manejar y entregar información al público en Chile. Además, el análisis lingüístico de este tema social ofrece ejemplos detallados de la forma en la cual distintos medios de comunicación eligen deslegitimizar movimientos sociales para así preservar el status quo y, por ende, las relaciones desiguales de poder.ABSTRACTThis paper is part of the MA dissertation I submitted to Lancaster University and has been modified to conform to space constrains. This article examines how the Chilean student movement was linguistically constructed in left stand rightist newspapers (El Siglo and El Mercurio, respectively) during one of the most violent and repressive demonstrations in August, 2011. I carry out a critical analysis of the coverage of this demonstration using Ruth Wodak and Martin Resisgl’s Discourse-Historical Approach (DHA) for the analysis of the written texts. I draw on different approaches to the understanding of social movements from different social sciences such a sociology, media studies and linguistics to fulfil the objectives of my research. While this dissertation provides further evidence of the ideological bias in media coverage of social protests, it also evidences the unequal power relations when it comes to accessand deliver information in Chile. Furthermore, the linguistic approach to this social issue offers detailed examples of the linguistic choices commonly used to bluntly delegitimize social movements so as to further perpetuate unequal relations of power

Get PDFRESUMENEn esta investigación, se describen los distintos procedimientos lingüísticos con valor apelativo en el habla coloquial de Colombia. Además, el estudio presta gran atención al contexto comunicativo donde se localiza cada emisión lingüística, de ahí que adquieran gran importancia las aportaciones de disciplinas como la pragmática o la sociolingüística. Se trata de un estudio descriptivo y sincrónico que se realiza sobre la base del material perteneciente al serial colombiano Sin tetas no hay paraíso, basado en la novela homónima de Gustavo Bolívar. Dicho serial constituye un auténtico “documental lingüístico” sobre el lenguaje hablado en esta área hispanoamericana en la actualidad. Se llega a la conclusión del gran empleo de los procedimientos apelativos en el serial, debido a que en él se recogen muchas relaciones humanas de carácter jerarquizado. No obstante, dependiendo del contexto, el imperativo se ve a menudo atenuado por otros mecanismos (presente, construcciones perifrásticas, modalidad interrogativa, etc.). Se demuestra así la gran riqueza y versatilidad del español a la hora de expresar contenidos de mandato.ABSTRACTThe purpose of this investigation is to describe the different linguistic forms used to express imperative content in colloquial Spanish of Colombia. Furthermore, the study aims to pay close attention to the communicative context with the contributions from disciplines as important as pragmatics or sociolinguistics. Mainly, it is a descriptive study based on the material of the Colombian soap opera Sin tetas no hay paraíso, based on the novel written by Gustavo Bolívar. This serial is a real “language documentary” that provides us with an accurate picture about the language spoken in this Hispanic area nowadays. Lastly, findings are that the appellate procedures are used very often in the serial because it presents many hierarchical human relations. Sometimes the imperative is attenuated by other linguistic forms (present tense, verbal periphrasis, interrogative sentences, etc.). Therefore, the study shows the great versatility of Spanish to express imperative content

Get PDFRESUMENEn este trabajo se analizará el penúltimo libro de Andrés Anwandter, Banda sonora, a partir de la clave televisiva que ya sugieren el título y el epígrafe de Tom Raworth, “a door in the t.v. opened”. Para ello, primero se revisarán las filiaciones de la obra con las Eternal sections de Raworth, para luego pesquisar el modo en que el texto de Anwandter complejiza el ejercicio instaurado por el poeta inglés, mediante una trasposición a la literatura de mecanismos propios de los mass media que implican la superposición y cruces de ciertos reflejos textuales de la percepción televisiva y la memoria televisiva. Al mismo tiempo, se buscará enmarcar el análisis de esta obra en su contexto de producción, indagando como la literatura responde a la configuración actual de los nuevos medios y en qué medida se hace cargo de la convergencia de la cultura contemporánea.ABSTRACT In this paper we will analyse the penultimate book of Andrés Anwandter, Banda Sonora, from the key reading suggested by its title and Tom Raworth’s epigraph, “a door in the tv opened”. To do this, we will first review it’s affiliations with Raworth’s Eternal Sections, and then study the way in which Anwandter’s texts makes more complex the exercise introduced by the english poet, through a transposition of mass medias own mechanisms to literature, which involve overlapping and cross sectioning certain textual reflexions of televised perception and televised memory. At the same time, we will frame the analysis of this work in its production context, inquiring as to how literature responds to the current configuration of the new media and to what extent it assumes the convergence of contemporary culture
El Rol De La Frecuencia En La Diferenciación Perceptiva Entre El Fonema /s/, Y La Variante Fricativa /∫/ Del Fonema /t∫/ En El Español De Chile. The Role Of The Frequency In The Perceptive Distinction Between The Phoneme /s/ And The Fricative Variant /∫/
Get PDFRESUMENLa presente investigación pretende describir la incidencia de la frecuencia en la distinción entre el fonema /s/ y [∫] (la variante fricativa de /t∫/) en el español de Chile. Se realizó una prueba de percepción a 32 informantes adultos residentes en Santiago de Chile. A partir de los resultados obtenidos, se establece que uno de los rasgos que da lugar a la oposición entre ambos sonidos a nivel perceptivo es claramente la distribución de la energía. Si existe energía en las bandas frecuenciales bajo los 4000 o 3000 Hz, los hablantes tenderán a percibir el sonido como la variante fricativa del fonema /t∫/ del español de Chile. En el caso contrario, los hablantes perciben el fonema /s/.ABSTRACT This research aims to describe the incidence of frequency on the distinction between the phoneme /s/ and [∫], (the fricative variant of /t∫/) in the Chilean Spanish. We conducted a perception test to 32 adult informants living in Santiago de Chile. From the results, it is established that, at a perceptual level, one of the features that gives rise to the opposition between the two sounds is clearly the distribution of the energy. If there is energy in the frequency bands under the 4000 or 3000 Hz, speakers tend to perceive the sound as a fricative variant of the phoneme /t∫/ in the Chilean Spanish. Otherwise, they perceive the phoneme /s/

No full textRESUMENEl discurso de la ciencia presenta un alto grado de complejidad para los aprendices, debido a su abstracción y a la combinación de diferentes recursos semióticos para la representación del conocimiento científico (Lemke, 1998; Halliday & Martin, 1993). Los profesores juegan un rol central en lograr acercar a sus estudiantes a las formas valoradas de razonar, representar y comunicar propios de la ciencia. Esta investigación se lleva a cabo desde la semiótica social y la lingüística sistémica funcional, en ella se presenta un análisis multimodal del discurso de las distintas opciones semióticas utilizadas por los profesores de Biología para la enseñanza. El corpus está constituido por grabaciones audiovisuales de las clases de 3 profesores de biología, enseñando la misma unidad curricular en 1° año de Educación Media. Entre los hallazgos se releva el potencial semiótico de la combinación de los medios interacción cara a cara y pizarrón, para el despliegue de dibujos esquemáticos en conjunto con la lengua escrita y oral con los que los profesores construyen tanto definiciones como explicaciones de carácter multimodal.ABSTRACT The discourse of science presents a high degree of complexity for learners, because of its abstraction and combination of different semiotic resources for representation of scientific knowledge (Lemke, 1998; Halliday & Martin, 1993). Teachers play a central role in approaching their students to learn the valued forms of reasoning, representing and communicating in science. This research was carried out from a social semiotic and systemic functional linguistics, through a multimodal discourse analysis of the semiotic options used in teaching biology. The corpus consists of video recordings of the classes of three teachers of biology, teaching the same curriculum unit in ist year of secondary school. Among the findings highlight the semiotic potential of the combination of face to face interaction and whiteboard media, for the co-deployment of schematic drawings along with the spoken and written language with which teachers construct both definitions and explanations of multimodal character.
El Efecto Mcgurk En Consonantes Oclusivas Sonoras Y Sordas Del Español De Chile. The Mcgurk Effect In Stop Voiced And Voiceless Consonants In Spanish From Chile
Get PDFRESUMENEl efecto McGurk es un fenómeno perceptivo audiovisual de efecto fuerte, en el cual la información visual de una sílaba es incongruente con las pistas auditivas presentadas a los espectadores. Esto genera confusiones perceptivas en el espectador. El presente trabajo tiene como finalidad contribuir a los estudios sobre percepción de las consonantes oclusivas sonoras y sordas del español de Chile. Para ello, se trabaja dentro de un paradigma McGurk, mediante un experimento en el cual 84 participantes son expuestos a 8 estímulos audiovisuales incongruentes, con el fin de comprobar este fenómeno en hablantes chilenos y medir sus respuestas. A partir de ellas, se proponen algunas hipótesis sobre cuáles serían los rasgos determinantes para la percepción de las consonantes oclusivas presentadas. Además, se comparan los resultados obtenidos con los reportados para otras lenguas. Los participantes muestran uso tanto de las pistas visuales y auditivas al menos en la mitad de los casos; no obstante, el patrón de respuesta ante la serie sonora y la serie sorda es el inverso al reportado en otros estudios.ABSTRACT The McGurk effect is a robust audiovisual phenomenon in which the visual information of a syllable does not match the auditory cues presented to the listeners. This generates perceptive confusions on the listeners. The former study’s aim, is to contribute to the perception research of voiced and voiceless stop consonants in Chilean Spanish. Therefore, an experiment within a McGurk paradigm is performed, in which 84 participants are exposed, individually, to 8 incongruent audiovisual stimulus, in order to demonstrate whether this phenomenon could be proved among Chilean speakers and to assess their answers. Thus, some hypothesis are given to explain which the decisive features in the perception of the presented stop consonants could be. Furthermore, the results are compared to those obtained in other languages. Participants show the use of both visual and auditory cues. Nonetheless, the answer pattern for voiced and voiceless consonants is different from those reported in the consulted literature

Get PDFRESUMENA la luz de la categoría espacio ontológica Estar aquí/ser allá, que postulamos como herramienta de análisis, leeremos algunos textos significativos dentro de la obra literaria (se hace la distinción debido a que también incursionó en el dibujo y, por supuesto, la música) de Osvaldo Rodríguez Musso. Este quiebre ontológico creemos cubre el entramado semántico que ha ocupado en general la obra de este poeta y es aquello lo que le ha dado a estos discursos una doble condición de marginalidad, reflejada tanto por su situación de escritura desde/sobre el exilio —desde aquí la evocación del recuerdo— así como por su realidad de escritor de provincia. Y a causa de este evidente estado de postergación de la obra de este autor dentro de la literatura nacional, intentaremos responder a la pregunta de porqué la crítica literaria chilena del exilio no le ha otorgado una posición significativa a esta poética “provinciana” del recuerdo.ABSTRACTIn light of the spacial-ontological category Being here/Being from there, which we propose as an analytical tool, we will read some significant texts within the literary work of Osvaldo Rodríguez Musso (this distinction being made due to the fact that he also made a foray into drawing in addition to his musical work, of course). We believe that this ontological rupture covers the semantic framework that has been occupied in general in the work of this poet and it is that which has given these discourses a condition of dual marginality, reflected as much in his condition as writing from/about exile—where memory is evoked—as well as his reality as a provincial writer. Because of the evident deferral of the work of this author with in our national literature, we will attempt to answer the question as to why Chilean literary critics of exile haven´t given a significant position to the¨provincial¨ poetics of memory
El Viaje Chile-Europa En La Poesía Chilena: Un Inventario Preliminar. The America/ Europe Journey In The Chilean Lyric Poetry
Get PDFRESUMENSe trata de una revisión del corpus de la poesía chilena para establecer tanto las particularidades del viaje como su particular modo de asumirlo en la poesía lírica, entendiendo, que se asume como viaje de conquista, de exploración, de simple turismo, de indagación, de apropiación hasta como crítica cultural o antropología. Se trata de concluir con consideraciones históricas como tipólogicas de su funcionalización. Se presume que hay una correlación entre las modalidades epistémicas del viaje y el desarrollo lírico, al mismo tiempo que suele presentarse una reflexión metapoética entorno al alcance y sentido del viaje.ABSTRACTThis work is about an examination of the corpus of Chilean poetry to establish both the travel modalities and the particular way the lyric poetry assumes it, understanding that its seems like a travel of conquer, exploration, common tourism, investigation, owner ship, even as cultural critic or anthropology. It tries to conclude with both historical and typological considerations of its functionality. It is presumed to be a link between both epistemic modalities: lyrical development and travel, at the same time that there is a metapoetic meditation towards the meaning and the range of the travel
