La Competencia De Uso De Dispositivos Retóricos Y Su Contribución Específica A La Comprensión Lectora. Una Perspectiva Cognitiva. Rhetoric Devices Competence And Its Specific Contribution To Reading Comprehension. A Cognitive Perspective.
Get PDFRESUMENEste trabajo aborda el estudio del impacto del uso de evocaciones y refutativos en la comprensión de textos estandarizados. Aplicada a una muestra de 183 niños de 11 y 12 años, estos lectores resolvieron una escala de evaluación de uso de marcadores que promueven los procesos de integración texto-conocimientos previos en textos académicos con tópicos generales de ciencias e historia. Los resultados arrojan que controlados los efectos de memoria de trabajo, velocidad y precisión de lectura de palabras y conocimientos previos, el uso de evocaciones y refutativos en tareas de interpretación, tiene entidad como competencia explicando parte de la varianza en comprensión. ABSTRACTThis study attempts to describe the impact regarding the evocations and refutations use in standard reading comprehension texts. The sample included 183 children (11-12) who assessed the use of markers; these markers promote the processes included in the integration of previous knowledge in academic science and history texts. The results show that if working memory effects, speed, word reading accuracy and previous knowledge are controlled, the use of evocation and refutations in interpreting assignments are competent when accounting for comprehension variance.
How Reading Affects Accuracy On Writing. Cómo La Lectura Afecta La Corrección En La Escritura
Get PDFRESUMENEl presente artículo examina la correlación entre la lectura y la mejoría en la escritura. Hasta ahora la escritura en el aula de lenguas extranjeras había sido relegada a segundo plano, en parte porque la corrección de redacciones toma mucho tiempo y en parte porque pocos aprendices mejoran en esta destreza. El diseño esmerado de tareas ayudará a los instructores en la implementación de escritura como una habilidad tanto comunicativa como de desarrollo y ayudará a los aprendices a mejorar y situarse en el nivel apropiado. Datos de dos grupos de tercer año de español en una universidad norteamericana señala que la asignación de lecturas debe determinarse tomando en consideración el propósito de la tarea escrita. Los resultados proporcionan información útil tanto para instructores como para aprendices. A saber: la lectura y escritura en el aula deben ser más significativas que la simple práctica de estructuras gramaticales y léxico nuevo; el uso de una escala analítica para corregir las redacciones ayuda a los aprendices a darse cuenta de que hay otros componentes en las tareas de redacción, como la organización y el contenido. Finalmente, se hacen sugerencias pedagógicas para los instructores.ABSTRACTThis paper examines the correlation between reading and improvements in writing. Writing has been neglected in the foreign language classroom for the following reasons, among others, grading compositions is time consuming, and the belief that few students improve their writing skills. Careful design of tasks will aid instructors in the implementation of writing as a developmental as well as a communicative skill and help students’ progress and placement. Data from two groups of North American university students of intermediate Spanish indicates that the selection of readings must be determined by the purpose of the writing assignment. The results provides both instructor and student with useful information: Reading and writing in the classroom should be more meaningful than just practice of grammatical structures and new vocabulary; the use of an analitical scale helps students and instructors realize that there are other components to consider when completing and evaluating a writing task, such as organization and content. Finally, some pedagogical suggestions for instructors are given.

El autor argentino entiende la literatura como un discurso complejo donde se despliegan conocimientos teóricos y críticos a través de la ficción. La hibridez de sus textos, mezcla de voces y géneros, interpela al lector, confiriéndole un rol cómplice y activo en la configuración y desciframiento de la obra. Caracterización De Los Segmentos Repetidos Involuntariamente En Habla Semiespontánea. Describing Non-Voluntary Repetition Of Segments In Semispontaneous Speech
Get PDFRESUMENEn esta investigación se analizan casos de repeticiones involuntarias de segmentos en muestras de habla semiespontánea de un hombre y de una mujer de Santiago de Chile. Las muestras fueron sometidas a un análisis acústico de la duración en el oscilograma y el espectrograma correspondiente. Se presentan los datos desde una perspectiva general (tipos de palabras que aparecen más recurrentemente, número de reiteraciones y número de componentes del segmento repetido) y también se exponen los resultados de un análisis más específico de la duración de los segmentos. Estos resultados muestran que las palabras de clase cerrada tienen mayor frecuencia de aparición, que el segmento tiende a repetirse dos veces y que suele estar constituido por un elemento. El análisis temporal revela con mucha consistencia que el primer segmento es más largo que el segundo. A pesar de la escasa información sobre estos temas en lengua española, es sabido que se trata de fenómenos que tienen directa relación con el procesamiento de la información verbal.ABSTRACT This study is focused on describing the non-voluntary repetition of segments by a man and woman, both Chilean. Each sample´s lenght was determined by means of an acoustic analysis in which both the oscillogram chart and the spectrogram chart were inspected for every sample. The data were gathered from two samples of semi-spontaneous speech and they were approached both from a general descriptive point of view -kind of words more frequently used, number of repetitions, how many items were included in the repeated segments- and from a more specific perspective in which the lengths of the analyzed segments were compared statistically. The results of the analysis showed that function words are more frequently repeated, that segments tend to be repeated twice and that the repeated segment is likely to consist of a single item. The statistical test on the segments’ length clearly showed that the first segment is usually longer than second one. Information about Spanish-language oriented studies approaching similar matters is very little, but nevertheless there seems to be little question about the fact that these phenomena are clearly related with the processing of verbal information
Metáforas Conceptuales En Los Discursos Del Feminismo Académico Y El Feminismo Autónomo Chilenos. Conceptual Metaphors In The Chilean Academic And Independent Feminism Discourses
Get PDFRESUMENEl presente artículo es de carácter empírico y se enmarca en el paradigma de la Lingüística Cognitiva (LC) y, particularmente, en la Teoría de la Metáfora Conceptual (TMC). La TMC propone que la metáfora es un mecanismo cognitivo fundamental para estructurar conceptualmente nuestra experiencia en el entorno físico y sociocultural, y codificarla en el lenguaje. De esta manera, las expresiones metafóricas son una entrada para conocer cómo concebimos el mundo y, en concordancia, actuamos en él (Lakoff & Johnson, 1995). Esto último implica una dimensión discursiva, en el sentido de que el discurso también es acción. Por esta razón, la TMC ha tenido, entre otros, un desarrollo investigativo en los estudios del discurso. En esta línea, el presente trabajo aborda el discurso del feminismo chileno, y se plantea el siguiente objetivo de investigación: identificar las metáforas conceptuales de los discursos del feminismo académico y el feminismo autónomo. Para realizar estos propósitos, se seleccionaron dos textos representativos de cada corriente ideológica, y se registraron las expresiones metafóricas para luego formular las metáforas cognitivas subyacentes. Entre los resultados relevantes, destaca el hecho de que las metáforas conceptuales dan cuenta, en efecto, de las posiciones ideológicas divergentes.ABSTRACT The present paper has the character of an empiric work and is framed in the Cognitive Linguistics (CL) paradigm and in particular, in the Conceptual Metaphor Theory (CMT). The CMT says that the metaphor is a cognitive mechanism fundamental to build conceptually our physical and sociocultural experiences, and to codify them into speech. This way, the metaphorical expressions are a way into the manner we conceive the world and, in concordance, the way we act in it (Lakoff & Johnson, 1995). The last one implies a discursive dimension, in the way discourse is also an action. For that reason, the CMT has had an investigative development in discourse studies. In this line, the present work approaches the Chilean feminism discourses and propose the following investigation objective: identify the conceptual metaphors in the academic and independent feminism discourses. To accomplish those purposes, two representative texts of each ideology were selected and the different metaphorical expressions were identified to next formulate the subjacent cognitive metaphors. Within the relevant results it highlights the fact that the conceptual metaphors give in account of the divergent ideological positions

No full textRESUMENEn la novela Ampliación del Campo de Batalla de Michel Houellebecq es posible advertir la presencia de dos corrientes filosóficas importantes: primero, la influencia del pensamiento filosófico instaurado por Friedrich Nietzsche y, luego, el influjo de la filosofía existencialista, cuyos mayores representantes serán Jean Paul Sartre y Albert Camus. El propósito del siguiente texto será llevar a cabo un análisis del comportamiento del protagonista de la novela, en base a las doctrinas antes mencionadas, el que, finalmente, establecerá su propio modo de pensar, rescatando por un lado los principales preceptos del pensamiento formulado por Nietzsche como los relacionados con el existencialismo, pero, por otro, incorporando también ideas propias, que sustentarán su filosofía personal acerca de la vida. ABSTRACT:In the novel Ampliación del Campo de Batalla by Michel Houellebecq is possible to warn the presence of two philosophical important currents: first, the influence of the philosophical thought restored by Friedrich Nietzsche and, then, the influence of the philosophy existentialist, whose major representatives will be Jean Paul Sartre and Albert Camus. Mapuche Hablado En Melipeuco: Fonemas Segmentales, Fonotaxis Y Comparación Con Otras Variedades
No full textRESUMENEste artículo tiene como foco la descripción de los fonemas segmentales y las realizaciones alofónicas del mapuche hablado en Melipeuco. Se mencionan, en primer lugar, los estudios fonológicos anteriores realizados sobre la lengua mapuche. En segundo lugar, se detalla la metodología utilizada en la investigación (se mencionan aquí aspectos relativos a la zona donde se recogieron los datos, los informantes que colaboraron en ella y las características más relevantes de las transcripciones y lista léxica utilizadas). Luego, se señala el marco de referencia escogido para el análisis del material fónico (el método descriptivista norteamericano) y se presenta in extenso el inventario de fonemas y realizaciones alofónicas de esta variante del mapuche. En el quinto punto, se indican las características más relevantes de la pauta de combinación de las unidades fonémicas segmentales (se mencionan aquí las características más relevantes de la estructura silábica y de la estructura de la palabra) y los casos de fluctuación de fonemas que se detectaron. Por último, y como conclusión de esta investigación, se presenta una síntesis comparativa entre la variante estudiada y las otras variantes dialectales del mapuche.AbstractThe aim of this article is to provide a description of the segmental phonemes and the allophonic realizations of oral Mapuche in Melipeuco. First, earlier phonologic studies on Mapuche are cited. Second, the research methodology is explained (details are given about the area where data were collected, participants, and the most relevant characteristics of the transcriptions and lexical lists used). Third, the theoretical framework selected for the phonic material is provided (the American descriptivist method). After that, a complete inventory of phonemes and allophonic realizations of the Melipeuco variant of Mapuche are presented. Then, the most relevant characteristics are indicated of the segmental phonemic model combination (the most relevant characteristics of the syllabic structure and word structure are mentioned here) and phoneme fluctuation. Last, and as a conclusion of this research work, a comparative synthesis is presented of the Melipeuco variant and the other dialectical variants of Mapuche

La imagen contemporánea del mundo occidental liberal es una herencia de la imagen científica de la modernidad del mundo, cuyo eje es la representación y la abstracción matemática. Esta abstracción crea una imagen de mundo más exacta y evaluable que el mundo en el que el ser humano se encuentra consigo mismo y con los otros. Se transforma el mundo en objeto y al ser humano en sujeto, términos inconciliables y violentamente opuestos. La imagen de esta oposición es el pizarrón de la sala de clases. La única posibilidad de integrar mundo y hombre es a través del coraje y el asombro ante el misterio del mundo, mundo siempre en construcción y siempre en riesgo.AbstractEducation moves in the space of distance between those who are coming into the world and the world that they arrive. Since Modern Age, this distance formed by the opposing subject and object, has tended to be an impassable abyss. In this way, the world unfolds in two: the world whose image under investigation in the field of Education is the blackboard, and the world of everyday life. In front of the blackboard the student is installed, constituted as a subject, which should curtail the reality until it fits with the security and accuracy of mathematical world-object-blackboard. The world of ordinary life is there and education does not know what to deal with it, and have it for non-existent. The reality held by non-existent prevents people’s existential integration. But there’s another kind of Educations that integrates and includes subjective and objective world and needs the courage to accept and even demand the new perspectives of those who are coming to build a more complete and always risky world

Get PDFRESUMENLas regiones de contacto de lenguas representan una valiosa fuente de investigación, dado que la coexistencia de lenguas en un mismo territorio implica cambios sociales y lingüísticos. Este trabajo se centra en el proceso de transición del cambio de códigos hacia la mezcla de lenguas en el discurso de hablantes bilingües. El objetivo de este estudio es describir los factores sociales y lingüísticos que favorecen la producción de alternancias de códigos en la frontera brasileño-uruguaya
