Heritigization processes and social function in community-based museums in Los Ríos Region
Get PDFLa imaginación museal surgida en la década de los sesenta instaló un nuevo paradigma que ha buscado que los museos asuman una función social, expresen y resuelvan las inquietudes de su comunidad y desplieguen un espíritu de lugar. Se presenta un estudio sobre museos de base comunitaria en la Región de los Ríos que representan algunos de los ideales de esta Nueva Museología. El propósito es entender cómo objetos y manifestaciones revelan procesos de patrimonialización situados que, mediados por el ejercicio de la función social, amplían las conceptualizaciones oficiales sobre el patrimonio. Los resultados obtenidos de este estudio de caso múltiple de enfoque cualitativo muestran elementos compartidos en los caminos hacia la patrimonialización en los museos de base comunitaria estudiados: un carácter colectivo, co-creativo y co-autoral; la presencia de valores expresados en una ética práctica; y la movilidad y coexistencia entre escalas íntimas, comunitarias y pluriversales.The museum imagination that emerged in the sixties installed a new paradigm that has sought for museums to assume a social function, express and resolve the concerns of their community and give a sense of place. A study is presented on community-based museums in the Los Ríos Region that represent some of the ideals of this New Museology. The purpose is to understand how objects and manifestations reveal situated heritigization processes that, mediated by the exercise of social function, broaden official conceptualizations about heritage. The results obtained from this qualitative approach, multiple case-study, show shared elements in the pathways towards heritigization in the community-based museums studied: a collective, co-creative and co-authored character; the presence of values expressed in practical ethics; and mobility and coexistence between intimate, community and pluriversal scales
LA NATURALEZA SENSORIAL DEL PODER REGIO EN LA SEGUNDA PARTIDA DE ALFONSO X
Get PDFThe process of construction of the Castilian royal power, throughout the Late Middle Ages, shows multiple aspects presented in the vast bibliography developed during the past century and in the first decades of the current century. On this occasion, we propose to reflect on the sensory nature of the relations established by the monarch with his subjects, since power is not only seen, but also felt and expressed in corporeality. This sensory facet of power was a prominent focus of attention in the legislative work of Alfonso X codified in his Siete Partidas [Seven-Part Code]. Consequently, the aim of this work will be to make a first approach to the mediations established by the senses in the relations between the people and their king, focusing particularly in the Segunda Partida [Second Part of the Code] of the Alfonsine work, based on the Aristotelian conceptualizations of sensoriality. This will allow us to examine how a particular schema of the microcosm of royal power was elaborated.El proceso de construcción del poder regio castellano, a lo largo de la Baja Edad Media, reviste múltiples aristas presentes en la ingente bibliografía desarrollada durante el siglo pasado y en las primeras décadas de la actual centuria. En esta oportunidad, proponemos reflexionar sobre la naturaleza sensorial de las relaciones que estableció el monarca con sus súbditos, puesto que el poder no solo se ve, sino que se siente y expresa en la corporeidad. Esta faceta sensorial del poder fue un punto de atención destacado en la labor legislativa codificada en las Siete Partidas de Alfonso X. En consecuencia, el objetivo de este trabajo será realizar un primer acercamiento a las mediaciones que establecen los sentidos en las relaciones entre el pueblo y su rey, centrándonos especialmente en la Segunda Partida de la obra alfonsí, teniendo como base las conceptualizaciones aristotélicas sobre la sensorialidad. Meanings of respectful parenting in migrant families linked to Chile Grows with You
Get PDFEl artículo aborda las experiencias de crianza de padres y madres migrantes latinoamericanos con hijos menores de cinco años en Santiago de Chile, profundizando en la forma en que perciben y vivencian la concepción de crianza respetuosa que ha sido promovida por el Sistema Chile Crece Contigo (ChCC). Se realizaron diecisiete entrevistas semiestructuradas y un grupo de discusión a familias migrantes que asisten a los centros de salud familiar de la Región Metropolitana de Santiago y entrevistas semiestructuradas a las profesionales del Sistema Chile Crece Contigo. Se advierte que la comprensión de la crianza respetuosa suele verse tensionada por la vulnerabilidad generada por la migración, la transmisión del mensaje, el rol de la comunidad y aspectos culturales. Finalmente, se concluye que la promoción de una crianza respetuosa ha de considerar la pertinencia cultural y la situación migratoria de las familias, que suele implicar la falta de una red de apoyo y atravesar situaciones de vulnerabilidad.The article approaches the parenting experiences of Latin American migrant parents in Santiago de Chile; focusing on the way they perceive and experience the concept of respectful parenting promoted by the ‘Chile Crece Contigo’ System (ChCC, for its acronym in Spanish). Seventeen semi-structured interviews and a discussion group were conducted with migrant families who attend family health centers in the Metropolitan region of Santiago; as well as semi-structured interviews with the professionals of the ‘Chile Crece Contigo’ System. It is noted that the understanding of respectful parenting is usually strained by the vulnerabilities generated by migration, the message transmission, the role of the community and cultural aspects. Finally, it is concluded that the promotion of respectful parenting should consider the cultural relevance and the migrant condition of families, which usually implies the lack of a support network and experiencing situations of vulnerability
Visionaries in the Colonial Period
Get PDFEntre los siglos XII y XV surgió y se desarrolló un fenómeno que ha sido conocido como el de la ‘mística femenina’. Una escritura de mujeres que se caracterizó principalmente por su carácter visionario en el que, además de escribir acerca de sus revelaciones, también hablaron de sí mismas, creando un enorme corpus de escritura autobiográfica inseparable de la visionaria. Serán estas narrativas las que ayudarán a inspirar el discurso místico barroco hacia los siglos XVI y XVII (Cirlot y Garí), el mismo que llegará a las colonias latinoamericanas junto con todo el programa evangelizador. Dentro de este universo aparecerán los conventos femeninos como parte de la transmisión cultural europea hacia América (Lavrin) y, al mismo tiempo, los textos producidos por monjas y beatas americanas serán enviados a Europa para demostrar la vitalidad que iba adquiriendo la evangelización (Myers). En este artículo, propongo revisar el carácter visionario de dichos escritos, con el fin de identificar los rasgos que los caracterizan.During the twelfth and fifteenth centuries, a phenomenon that has been known as that of ‘female mysticism’ emerged and developed. These women, in addition of writing about their revelations, they also spoke of themselves, creating a huge corpus of autobiographical writing inseparable from the visionary. It will be these narratives that will inspire the mystical baroque discourse towards the 16th and 17th centuries (Cirlot and Garí). This will reach the Latin American colonies along with the entire evangelizing program. Within this universe, female convents will appear as part of this European cultural transmission to The Americas (Lavrin). At the same time, the texts produced by Spanish-American nuns and beatas were sent to Europe to demonstrate the vitality that evangelization was acquiring (Myers). The Oneiric, Philosophical and Political Cosmology of Christine de Pizan
Get PDFChristine de Pizan (ca. 1364-ca. 1430) describe el universo y reflexiona sobre las causas de la generación del cosmos en varios pasajes de sus obras alegóricas. Su interés por la filosofía natural es notorio y, aunque no tuvo acceso a una formación reglada en las artes del quadrívium, aprendió de forma autodidacta a partir de los libros que tenía a su disposición en la corte de Carlos V. En los viajes por la tierra y a través de los cielos que describe tanto en Le chemin de long estude (1402) como en L’Advision-Cristine (1405) reelabora ideas que ha leído en fuentes filosóficas y literarias tanto antiguas y tardoantiguas como medievales. Las enmarca en su propio imaginario y se sirve de ellas para analizar, por analogía, cuestiones ético-políticas que están en el centro de sus propuestas prácticas para restaurar el orden, la paz y la concordia en el reino de Francia tras el ascenso al poder de Carlos VI. De Pizan concibe la naturaleza compuesta por fuerzas vivas sexuadas, femeninas, personificadas como damas de gran autoridad. Por ello, tanto en el plano natural como en el social, Christine de Pizan otorga a las mujeres un papel clave para organizar y dirigir el mundo en todos los planos de realidad imaginables.Christine de Pizan (ca. 1364-ca. 1430) describes the universe and reflects on the causes of the generation of the cosmos in several passages of her allegorical works. Her interest in natural philosophy is well known and, although she had no formal training in the arts of the quadrivium, she taught herself from the books available to her at Charles V’s court. In the journeys on Earth and through the heavens that she depicts in Le chemin de long estude (1402) and L’Advision-Cristine (1405), she reworks ideas taken from philosophical and literary sources both ancient, late antique and medieval. She frames these ideas in her own imaginary and uses them to analyse, by analogy, the ethical-political issues at the heart of her practical proposals for restoring order, peace and concord to the kingdom of France after Charles VI’s rise to power. De Pizan conceives of nature as a series of living, sexed, feminine forces, personified as ladies of great authority. Thus, on both the natural and social levels, she gives women a key role in organising and directing the world in every conceivable sphere of reality
EL MANDATO DE LA MASCULINIDAD TRADICIONAL A TRAVÉS DE LAS PRÁCTICAS ARTÍSTICAS Y VISUALES EN LA ACTUALIDAD
Get PDFThe main objective of this text is to develop a critical and comparative analysis of the normative mandates that traditional masculinity dictates and claims to be ‘a real man’ in today's western culture through the study of artistic and visual practices that analyze this problem in recent years. After developing a conceptual analysis of the most relevant proposals, the results obtained have been compared and contrasted with the contributions of the main experts in this field. The results achieved have allowed: on the one hand, to verify the capacity of art to interfere in the representation of the attributes assigned and required to hegemonic masculinity and, at the same time, systematize the different types of strategies used in contemporary artistic and visual practices to make visible, question and transform these imperatives. And, on the other, to verify not only the resurgence and survival of these imperatives in our days, but also their strengthening in certain areas, opposing to the achievements made since the crisis of hegemonic masculinity at the end of the 20th century.El principal objetivo de este texto es desarrollar un análisis crítico y comparativo sobre cuáles son los mandatos normativos que dicta y reclama la masculinidad tradicional para ser considerado ‘un hombre de verdad’ en la cultura occidental actual, a través del estudio de las prácticas artísticas y visuales que abordan esta problemática en los últimos años. Tras desarrollar un análisis conceptual de las propuestas más relevantes, hemos confrontado y contrastado los hallazgos obtenidos con las aportaciones de los/as principales expertos/as en este ámbito. Los resultados alcanzados han permitido: por un lado, constatar la capacidad del arte para interferir en la representación de los atributos asignados y exigibles a la masculinidad hegemónica y, a su vez, sistematizar los distintos tipos de estrategias empleadas en prácticas artísticas y visuales contemporáneas para visibilizar, cuestionar y transformar dichos imperativos; y, por otro, comprobar no solo el resurgimiento y la pervivencia de dichos imperativos en nuestros días, sino también, su fortalecimiento en determinados ámbitos, a pesar de los logros conseguidos desde la crisis de la masculinidad hegemónica a finales del siglo XX

The case of the kingdom of Valencia between the 13th and the 15th is analised through a combination of notarial, normative, judicial and literary sources, without leaving aside the evidence of the archaeological record.En este trabajo se aborda el aprovisionamiento de recursos naturales básicos para el desarrollo de la industria cerámica y vidriera bajomedieval, estudiando concretamente la extracción de arcilla, barrilla, leña y, en menor medida, el acceso a algunos minerales como el estaño, el plomo y el cobalto. HACIA EL LUGAR DEL ARTE. UNA HERRAMIENTA PARA EL ANÁLISIS DEL VÍNCULO VISITANTE - OBRAS ARQUITECTÓNICAS QUE CONTIENEN ARTE CONTEMPORÁNEO
Get PDFPlace is the receptacle that condenses meaning and the person who grants it is the human being. Architectural works that contain contemporary art, by the very definition of this art, have an added difficulty in becoming a place. The objective of this article is to present a tool to analyze the relationship between the visitor and the architectural work that contains contemporary art, which allows to clarify this link and reflect on its ‘placeness’. To build this tool, a multidisciplinary and multi-methodological strategy is deployed. It is a multiple case analysis, which implements an in-depth comparison of five cases of emblematic architectural works containing contemporary art in Santiago de Chile. The notion of place is divided into four qualities: identity, limit, totality and meaning. Each of them is operationalized in a corresponding dimension: historical-institutional, urban, architectural and sociocultural. The data analysis is constructed of a matrix that allows the dimensions to intersect with the case studies. As a result, a tool is presented for the analysis of the link between the visitor and the architectural work that contains contemporary art.Lugar es el receptáculo que condensa significación y quien la otorga es el ser humano. Las obras arquitectónicas que contienen arte contemporáneo, por la propia definición de este arte, tienen una dificultad añadida para convertirse en un lugar. El objetivo de este artículo es presentar una herramienta para analizar la relación entre el visitante y la obra arquitectónica que contiene arte contemporáneo, lo que permite matizar este vínculo y reflexionar sobre su ‘lugaridad’. Para construir esta herramienta se despliega una estrategia multidisciplinar y multimetodológica. Es un análisis de caso múltiple, que implementa una comparación en profundidad de cinco casos de obras arquitectónicas emblemáticas que contienen arte contemporáneo en Santiago de Chile. La noción de lugar se divide en cuatro cualidades: identidad, límite, totalidad y significado. Cada una de ellas se operacionaliza en una dimensión correspondiente: histórica-institucional, urbana, arquitectónica y sociocultural. El análisis de datos se construye a partir de una matriz que permite que las dimensiones se crucen con los casos de estudio.
