A Signs and Meanings of Pamali Utterances in The Religiosity of Kampung Naga Indigenous Communities: A Semiotic Theory Perspective: A Semiotic Theory Perspective
This research is motivated by differences in people\u27s beliefs regarding the Pamali (taboo) tradition, which is considered by some groups to represent wisdom, but by as a type of superstition that must be avoided. This results in the Pamali tradition beginning to be marginalised from modern life. However, in the Kampung Naga, one of the villages in Indonesia , the tradition is still maintained in the practice of religion and modernisation. The paper aims to analyse Pamali utterances based on the perspective of semiotic theory and their relationship with the religiosity of the Kampung Naga indigenous community. The qualitative research uses an phenomenological design that applies linguistic theory as an analytical tool. It was found that according to the theory of meaning, Pamali utterances are based on the relevance of the relationship between sign, referent, and interpretant. Pamali is interpreted as taboo by society, and therefore people do not violate it. The content of the message in Pamali utterances is in harmony with the content of the Islamic message, so the reflection is a crystallisation of the religious teachings adhered to by the village people
Relationship Between Customs and Religion in Minangkabau Society Shown in The Works of Hamka
The Minangkabau community, known for its devout religiosity, is unique in its adherence to a matrilineal kinship system, which differs from the patrilineal teachings of Islam. This article explains the relationship between customary law, Islam, Minangkabau society in Hamka\u27s works. The findings not only show how the relationship between customs and religion manifest themselves in Minangkabau society, as shown in the works that are the subject of this study, but also include a critique of this relationship. Hamka argues through his works that the relationship embodied in the Minangkabau concept, namely syarak bersanding adat, adat bersanding kitabullah (religion alongside custom, custom alongside the Book of Allah), is not yet an ideal concept because it is not dominated by Sharia. As a result, the customary system still leads to discrimination, not only against outsiders but also among community members themselves, regarding the regulation of marriage and inheritanc
The Social Construction of Tolerance Discourse through Online Media: Study of NU Online
As the largest Islamic organization in Indonesia, Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) plays a major role in maintaining the country\u27s diversity. As we know, intolerance among Indonesians has become a major problem for the nation. This research examines how NU constructs and spreads the value of tolerance through its online media, called “NU Online.” The theory of the social construction of reality, written by Berger and Luckmann, is used as a theoretical framework to depict internalization, objectification, and externalization processes in NU Online while constructing and spreading tolerance issues. Data were collected using a qualitative method, interviewing NU Online\u27s members and editorial teams. The results of this study show that NU has an organizational value that regards tolerance as an important aspect of religious life. Moreover, the Islamic value of NU became a behavioral basis for all NU members, including members of NU Online. This value is called Ahlusunnah Waljamaah. Since becoming NU members, they have been internalized by the Ahlusunnah Waljamaah as a core value of the organization. Furthermore, in NU Online, this value spreads to the public through objectification and externalization processes

Makna Jihad Dalam Pandangan Organisasi Keagamaan Mahasiswa Universitas Islam Negeri Mahmud Yunus
The effectiveness of using animation media to improve mathematical logic intelligence
Mathematics is the main subject. Mathematics solves many problems in many fields, namely biology, physics, chemistry, astronomy, calculus, statistics, computer programming, and others. However, many students often consider mathematics as a complex subject. One of the reasons is that students are not trained to include mathematics the problem-solving process. Mathematical, logical intelligence is the ability to solve aproblem by mathematics. Living in the 21st century demands the use of technology in almost all aspects of life. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of animation media in improving the mathematical logic intelligence of fifth-grade students at an elementary school with 37 students. The research method is a quasi-experiment with a control-group pretest-posttest design. Research instruments in the form of tests and documents. Data analysis techniques using t-test and N-Gain calculation. The results showed that using animation media to learn mathematics effectively improves mathematical logic intelligence. It is evidenced by the experimental class N-Gain score of 69% with a reasonably practical category, which is higher than the control class N-Gain score of 52% with a less effective category. The t-test results show a difference in mathematical logic intelligence between students who learn using animation media and those who do not, with a significance value smaller than 0.050, namely 0.036. This research will inform that mathematical logic intelligence can be carried out using animation media. The other researcher can continue the research by finding the mathematical logic intelligence indicator that contributed the most to mathematics learning activity.Mathematics is the main subject. To What Extent Collateral in PLS Financing Brings Maṣlaḥah? An Analytical Comparison from Islamic Law Outlook with Maqāṣid al-Sharī’ah Index
This study aims to compare the level of maṣlaḥah regarding the existence of collateral in Profit and Loss Sharing (PLS) financing from Islamic banking customers and employees standpoints. This is crucial as PLS financing becomes the main characteristic product of Islamic banks, but it emerges as an unfavorable product due to the high financial risk. The existence of collateral plays a pivotal role in this situation to realize maṣlaḥah. This is an explanatory study with a quantitative approach and survey method, considering 400 respondents, particularly 200 Islamic banking customers and 200 Islamic banking employees, who were conveniently obtained at certain time intervals for a one-shot. An Independent sample t-test is used to calculate the comparison level of maṣlaḥah among these two groups. At the same time, Rasch Model analysis is also used to measure the data based on the demographic characteristics of respondents. The result discovers that although there is a slightly different level of maṣlaḥah between Islamic banking customers and employees in PLS finance practice regarding collateral, it still significantly brings benefit, as it aligns with the concept of ta’widh to prevent financial risk. This finding contributes to Islamic banks as a guideline to understand how to operate and enhance the market share of this financing product based on the Rasch Model Analysis
