Mitigating the Cost Amplification of Platform Defaults in Lean Cloud Data Deployments Through Configuration Hygiene
Cloud data platforms offer flexibility, but their default configurations are implicitly optimized for enterprise-scale environments, leading to hidden, disproportionate costs for small-scale deployments. This paper introduces the concept of a silent tax, where platform defaults, such as minimum billing durations and over-provisioned column types, disproportionately inflate costs for small business organisations with modest compute budgets, exemplified by a 10 IPU per month scenario. These defaults act as regressive cost drivers, penalizing users unable to amortize inefficiencies. We employ an analytical cost-modelling and Monte Carlo simulation approach, using Snowflake and Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) as reference platforms, and validate it through a paired, parametric Monte Carlo experiment using truncated normal and lognormal distributions. Our findings indicate that fixed-cost components embedded in these defaults can consume approximately 65% of a minimal budget. Key mechanisms include 60-second warehouse billing minimums, schema-driven memory over-allocation, and CI/CD pipeline reconfiguration costs. The study demonstrates that cost waste in minimal deployments is predominantly structural. An optimization pathway focusing on configuration hygiene—including explicit data types, aggressive warehouse tuning, and schema-as-code—can reclaim over 80% of this overhead, aligning with FinOps guidance for small estates. This research addresses a gap in cloud cost governance, empowering small teams to leverage cost intelligence for sustainability, and suggests transparent disclosure of default cost impacts by providers
EVALUASI KESESUAIAN PEDESTRIAN WAYS TERHADAP STANDAR TATA RUANG PERKOTAAN
This study aims to evaluate the compliance level of pedestrian ways in front of Goeteng Regional General Hospital (RSUD Goeteng) in Purbalingga with architectural and urban spatial planning standards. The area has undergone significant land-use conversion, where pedestrian spaces have been transformed into informal economic zones occupied by street vendors with semi-permanent structures. This situation creates spatial conflicts between public circulation functions and commercial activities, reducing safety and comfort for users, particularly vulnerable groups such as patients, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using measurable observation, behavioral mapping, and comparative analysis between the existing conditions and relevant regulations, including Pedestrian Comfort Theory, Technical Standards for Sidewalks Ministerial Regulation of Public Works No. 03/PRT/M/2014, and the Principles of Spatial Utilization Control Law No. 26/2007. The results indicate that the conversion of pedestrian paths into vending areas has reduced the free pedestrian zone width by up to 70%, obstructed accessibility for persons with disabilities, and decreased the Level of Service (LOS) for pedestrians to category F. This reflects a violation of public space functions and ineffective spatial utilization control. The study recommends implementing a human-centered and inclusive design approach for pedestrian ways that integrates social and economic activities while maintaining safety, accessibility, and sustainability in urban environments

Melampaui Toleransi: Studi terhadap Literasi Keagamaan Lintas Budaya
In an attempt to manage religious difference, this study focusses on a theoretical and practical evaluation of the idea of religious literacy. Since it introduces an interreligious educational approach and practice, the idea of religious literacy is regarded as important for addressing religious diversity. This study poses the following questions: how is the idea of religious literacy conceptualized? In what ways is religious literacy taught and practiced in Indonesia? This study uses a case study methodology and is qualitative in nature. This research looked at the Leimena Institute\u27s Cross-Cultural Religious Literacy program. The goal of cross-cultural religious literacy is to create an environment where religious believers may interact and work together. This research finds that Cross-Cultural Religious Literacy is a crucial approach to fostering interreligious learning that goes beyond tolerance and towards interfaith involvement and cooperation in the face of rising religiously motivated violent extremism and religious division. Through the components of three competencies and three skills, as well as interdisciplinary approaches to understanding and teaching about religion. Cross-Cultural Religious Literacy promotes four dimensions of religious literacy: factual, procedural, conceptual, and metacognitive knowledge.
Discourse Using Blockchain Technology for the Enforcement of Money Laundering Crimes in Indonesia
Money laundering is a crime aimed at concealing the origin of funds derived from illegal activities, which has become increasingly difficult to detect with the growth of digital transactions and cryptocurrency use. Blockchain, as a distributed ledger technology, can record transactions permanently, transparently, and securely, making it a promising tool to support Anti-Money Laundering (AML) systems. This study examines the role of blockchain in strengthening Indonesia’s AML framework amid rapid growth in digital financial transactions and increasing complexity of money laundering methods. The significant rise in suspicious transaction reports, particularly through digital wallets, e-money, and cryptocurrencies, indicates a shift of money laundering practices to digital channels that challenge existing oversight and law enforcement mechanisms. The study employs a qualitative approach through literature review and secondary data analysis to assess how blockchain features such as immutability, transparency, transaction pattern analysis, and cross-border tracking can enhance detection and verification of suspicious fund flows. The results suggest that blockchain has the potential to strengthen KYC procedures, enhance forensic capabilities, and provide verifiable electronic evidence. Nevertheless, regulatory and institutional limitations remain. OJK Regulation No. 27 of 2024 does not yet incorporate blockchain analytics, regulate privacy coins, mixers, or cross-chain laundering, nor provide a technology-based supervisory framework. Challenges also exist in evidentiary standards, digital chain-of-custody mechanisms, and technical capacity of law enforcement. Effective implementation of blockchain in Indonesia’s AML system requires regulatory refinement, institutional strengthening, and alignment with FATF standards
Begawe Merariq as a Cultural–Religious Institution: Gender Roles and the Integration of Islamic Values in Sasak Wedding Traditions
This study aims to examine the Begawe Merariq tradition of the Sasak community in Lombok by analyzing the integration of Islamic values and the gendered division of roles within the ceremonial process. The research focuses on how men’s and women’s roles are structured, legitimized, and sustained through customary norms and religious principles. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach to explore social realities as they occur within the community. Data were collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Informants were selected using purposive sampling, involving traditional leaders, community leaders, youth leaders, and male and female chefs who actively participate in Begawe Merariq activities. Primary data were complemented by secondary data obtained from relevant scholarly literature. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model developed by Miles and Huberman, which encompasses data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The study\u27s results indicate that Begawe Merariq functions as a cultural and religious institution that structures collective participation and strengthens social cohesion. Men mainly undertake public decision-making, coordination, and physically demanding tasks, while women play strategic roles in preparation, hospitality, and consumption management at later stages of the ceremony. This complementary division of labor is rooted in Sasak customs and Islamic ethical values, enabling the tradition to sustain cultural continuity amid social change
Digital Transformation and Cultural Preservation: Virtual Reality (VR)-Based Gamelan Interaction in Ba-li, Lombok, and Yogyakarta
Digital transformation has brought new challenges and opportunities in cultural preservation in Indonesia, particularly through the application of Virtual Reality (VR) technology to the Gamelan tradition in Yogyakarta, Bali, and Lombok. This study highlights the urgency of cultural revitalisation and the transmission of traditional Gamelan values, which are increasingly being eroded by modernisation and changes in the lifestyles of the younger generation. Applied a qualitative approach and Design-Based Research (DBR) methods, this study examines local wisdom, structure, and the function of Gamelan through the Ethno-Stream model framework, which integrates science, technology, religion, engineering, art, and mathematics. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with expert informants, Gamelan maestros, and cultural observers, as well as multimedia documentation. The study\u27s results demonstrate that the development of an interactive VR-based Gamelan model has successfully increased cultural engagement and appreciation among the digital-native generation, thereby expanding the scope of learning across social, spiritual, and cultural domains. Analysis shows that immersive learning experiences through VR can bridge the generational gap in tradition and strengthen the global relevance of local culture. In conclusion, the integration of VR in Gamelan preservation can be an effective solution to enhance cultural identity, encourage multidisciplinary education, and build a sustainable model for cultural revitalisation in the digital age
Analyzing the Legal Reasoning behind the Prohibition of Cryptocurrency Transactions in Indonesian Fatwa and Regulations
This study analyzes the legal rationale underlying the prohibition of cryptocurrency transactions in Indonesia, particularly through the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) fatwa and the government\u27s regulatory framework. While MUI\u27s fatwa bans cryptocurrency as a medium of exchange and investment due to elements of gharar, maysir, and unclear underlying value, Indonesian state regulations classify cryptocurrency as a tradable commodity under the supervision of the Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (Bappebti). This duality creates a normative tension between religious legal reasoning and positive law. Using a doctrinal and analytical approach, this research examines the basis of MUI\u27s arguments, the extent to which cryptocurrency fits the criteria of lawful (halal) transactions in Islamic law, and how government regulation frames cryptocurrency within Indonesia\u27s financial and digital economy policies. The findings indicate that MUI\u27s prohibition is grounded in risk, volatility, and speculative characteristics, whereas the government adopts a pragmatic regulatory stance by focusing on consumer protection and market oversight. This study contributes to the ongoing discourse on harmonizing religious fatwas and state law in emerging digital financial technologies.
