    The Dilemma of Gender and Marital Validity in Khuntha Cases: A Comparative Legal Study of the Four Sunni Schools

    In Islamic jurisprudence, the validity of marriage is contingent upon clear gender classification, a condition that poses legal complexities in the case of khuntha (intersex individuals). Classical jurists recognized khuntha as a distinct legal category and developed nuanced rulings, particularly distinguishing between khuntha wādih and khuntha mushkil. However, advances in medical science and shifting socio-legal contexts necessitate a re-examination of these doctrines. This study adopts a doctrinal and comparative approach, analyzing the positions of the four Sunni schools—Hanafī, Mālikī, Shāfiʿī, and Hanbalī—on the permissibility of khuntha marriage. It engages classical legal texts, modern fatwas, and contemporary bioethical considerations to assess continuity and reform. The four schools unanimously prohibit marriage for khuntha mushkil without gender clarity, while permitting it for khuntha wādih upon identifiable signs. Divergences arise in their evidentiary standards and interpretive flexibility. Contemporary scholars increasingly advocate for the inclusion of medical criteria and expert consultation in gender determination. Islamic legal tradition provides a principled yet adaptable framework for addressing khuntha marriage. By integrating classical methodologies with contemporary scientific understanding, jurists can uphold Sharīʿah objectives while affirming the dignity and marital rights of intersex individuals.     The conception of sacred and profane space, pioneered by Durkheim and Eliade, is a fundamental dichotomy where the sacred space is a separate, consecrated domain that serves as a locus for transcendent manifestation, while the profane space is the ordinary, mundane world. In Javanese mosque architecture, this dichotomy is manifested through a tiered spatial hierarchy comprising the sacred core space that requires the highest purity for ritual worship, the transitional/buffer space that mediates worldly activities supporting the worship, and the External Profane Space for purely socio-economic activities. Masjid Jami\u27 PITI Muhammad Cheng Hoo Purbalingga replicates this functional hierarchy, yet it utilizes Chinese acculturation as a visual-cultural marker in its profane and transitional zones. Conversely, the sanctity of its core space is strictly maintained by universal Islamic theological markers (such as calligraphy and Qibla orientation), making it a model of inclusivity that expands the boundaries of profanity for both cultural and functional accommodation

    The transformation of streets into spaces for social and economic activities reveals how residents of small towns continuously negotiate their spatial and everyday lives. Gang Mayong in Purbalingga offers a vivid example: a vehicle corridor that appears ordinary by day transforms into a lively culinary street filled with interaction and sensory experiences at night. This transformation reflects a form of spatial adaptation born from the community’s creativity and collective effort to make the most of limited urban space. Through field observation, interviews, and morphological analysis, it becomes clear how simple elements—tents, folding tables, and modest lighting—blend with an oriental-style gate to create a distinctive hybrid visual identity. Amid the vibrant night economy, this space also serves as a social meeting ground that strengthens community ties. Yet, such dynamism brings new challenges, particularly regarding cleanliness and order. Therefore, adaptive and participatory design strategies are essential to ensure that this night culinary corridor continues to function not only as an arena for informal economic activity but also as a productive public space that preserves its oriental–vernacular character as an expression of local cultural identity

    This study of AI integration into language learning is a literature review research design that focuses on understanding the different aspects of AI integration into language learning. It investigates AI’s potential to enhance language learning, emphasizing advantages and disadvantages. Methodologically, this study utilized a scoping review to collect and analyze secondary data from sixteen qualified articles retrieved from Google Scholar and Scopus databases. AI applications are becoming more common in educational settings, especially in language acquisition, due to the quick advancement of technology. The study highlights the effects of AI on learner engagement, tailored education, and flexible learning solutions by synthesizing findings from studies carried out between 2020 and 2024. The efficiency of chatbots and intelligent tutoring systems, the ethical implications of academic honesty, and the improved social presence of students through AI tools are some of the major themes. AI’s potential benefits, issues, including data privacy, technology accessibility, and teacher preparation requirement,s were also discussed. Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), the findings highlight the need for continued study and the creation of AI solutions suited to various learner requirements. This study provides insights that guide future pedagogical approaches and technology advancements, making it a valuable tool for researchers and educators attempting to comprehend the intricate dynamics of AI integration in language learning.Kajian ini tentang integrasi AI dalam pembelajaran bahasa merupakan penelitian dengan desain tinjauan pustaka yang berfokus pada pemahaman berbagai aspek integrasi AI dalam pembelajaran bahasa. Penelitian ini menelaah potensi AI dalam meningkatkan pembelajaran bahasa dengan menyoroti kelebihan dan kekurangannya. . Secara metodologis, studi ini menggunakan metode scoping review untuk mengumpulkan dan menganalisis data sekunder dari enam belas artikel yang memenuhi syarat yang diperoleh dari basis data Google Scholar dan Scopus. Aplikasi AI semakin umum digunakan di lingkungan pendidikan, khususnya dalam pemerolehan bahasa, seiring dengan pesatnya kemajuan teknologi. Studi ini menyoroti dampak AI terhadap keterlibatan peserta didik, pembelajaran yang dipersonalisasi, dan solusi pembelajaran yang fleksibel dengan mensintesis temuan dari penelitian yang dilakukan antara tahun 2020 hingga 2024. Beberapa tema utama meliputi efektivitas chatbot dan sistem tutor cerdas, implikasi etika terhadap kejujuran akademik, serta peningkatan kehadiran sosial peserta didik melalui alat berbasis AI. Manfaat potensial AI, isu-isu seperti privasi data, aksesibilitas teknologi, dan kebutuhan pelatihan guru juga dibahas. Hasil penelitian ini menegaskan perlunya studi lanjutan dan pengembangan solusi AI yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan berbagai jenis pembelajar.     The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have become a global agenda emphasizing the balance among the social, economic, and environmental pillars, with the governance pillar serving as a reinforcing element. This article aims to critically and comprehensively review the contribution of general education in the internalization of values and character formation as the social pillar of sustainable development. The method employed is a systematic literature review of various academic sources and relevant documents. The review findings indicate that quality education integrating values and character not only supports the achievement of education Goals (SDG 4) but also plays a strategic role in building an inclusive, just, and environmentally conscious society. General education that instills character traits such as mindfulness, curiosity, courage, resilience, ethics, and leadership serves as a crucial foundation in addressing global challenges and strengthening the social pillar of sustainable development. This review implies the need for the development of holistic and contextual curricula and teaching methods to realize a sustainable and just future in Indonesia. Thus, character education within general education can become a strategic instrument in supporting the success of sustainable development.Pembangunan Berkelanjutan/Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) telah menjadi agenda global yang menekankan keseimbangan antara pilar sosial, ekonomi, dan lingkungan, dengan pilar tata kelola sebagai penguat. Artikel ini bertujuan meninjau secara kritis dan komprehensif kontribusi pendidikan umum dalam internalisasi nilai dan pembentukan karakter sebagai pilar sosial pembangunan berkelanjutan. Metode yang digunakan adalah kajian literatur sistematis terhadap berbagai sumber ilmiah dan dokumen relevan. Hasil tinjauan menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan berkualitas yang mengintegrasikan nilai dan karakter tidak hanya mendukung pencapaian tujuan pendidikan (Goal 4 SDGs), tetapi juga berperan strategis dalam membangun masyarakat inklusif, berkeadilan, dan berwawasan lingkungan. Pendidikan umum yang menanamkan karakter seperti kesadaran penuh (mindfulness), rasa ingin tahu (curiosity), keberanian (courage), ketangguhan (resilience), etika (ethics), dan kepemimpinan (leadership) menjadi fondasi penting dalam menghadapi tantangan global dan memperkuat pilar sosial pembangunan berkelanjutan. Tinjauan ini berimplikasi perlunya pengembangan kurikulum dan metode pembelajaran yang holistik dan kontekstual untuk mewujudkan masa depan yang lestari dan berkeadilan di Indonesia.     Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) di Kampung Kiaradodot RW 01, Desa Gandamekar,Garut, bertujuan memitigasi dampak negatif pembuangan minyak jelantah yang mencemari sanitasilingkungan dan mengganggu kesehatan. Sasaran utama kegiatan adalah ibu rumah tangga dan pelakuUMKM kuliner. Metode yang digunakan adalah pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui Siklus Sisdamas(Sinergi Pemberdayaan Masyarakat) yang meliputi tahapan observasi, sosialisasi, pelatihan praktiklangsung, hingga evaluasi keberlanjutan. Dalam kegiatan ini, ditambahkan aspek analisis ekonomiberupa perhitungan Harga Pokok Penjualan (HPP) dan strategi pengemasan produk (branding) untukmeningkatkan nilai jual. Selain itu, pendekatan dilakukan melalui perspektif Eco-Dakwah, yaknimengedukasi masyarakat bahwa menjaga kebersihan lingkungan adalah bagian dari manifestasi iman.Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi peserta dengan tingkat keberhasilan produk mencapai100% (lilin mengeras dengan aroma stabil). Inovasi ini tidak hanya berhasil mereduksi limbah rumahtangga, tetapi juga membuka peluang usaha rumahan yang menjanjikan secara finansial. Peserta kinimemiliki keterampilan mengubah limbah menjadi produk bernilai estetika dan ekonomis yang berpotensi menjadi ikon produk kreatif lokal Desa Gandamekar

    Pesantren mahasiswa memiliki potensi strategis dalam pengembangan kewirausahaan berbasis nilaikeislaman, namun masih menghadapi berbagai kendala dalam mewujudkan kemandirian ekonomi.Pesantren Mahasiswa An Najah Purwokerto menghadapi permasalahan berupa pengelolaan unitusaha yang belum terintegrasi, keterbatasan kapasitas manajerial santri, serta minimnya pemanfaatanteknologi dalam perencanaan dan pemasaran bisnis. Program pengabdian ini bertujuan memperkuatkapasitas kewirausahaan santri dan tata kelola usaha pesantren melalui pendampingan bisnis terintegrasi berbasis pesantren. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendampingan partisipatif dengan sasaran 50 santri, meliputi pelatihan kewirausahaan, mentoring, dan klinik bisnis yang dilaksanakan secara bertahap mulai dari perumusan ide hingga penyusunan business plan dan pembuatan dummy produk. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan bisnis santri, terbentuknya lima kelompok usaha berbasis potensi lokal, serta mulai terbangunnya kesadaran pengelolaan usaha pesantren secara lebih sistematis. Program ini menunjukkan bahwa pendampingan bisnis yang terintegrasi dan kontekstual efektif dalam mendorong kemandirian ekonomi pesantren mahasiswa serta relevan untuk dikembangkan sebagai model pengabdian masyarakat berbasis pesantren

    Abstract: This study aims to describe the leadership style of madrasah principals in improving teacher professionalism at MTs Ma\u27arif NU 1 Kedungbanteng and identify the supporting and inhibiting factors. The background of this study is based on the importance of the role of the madrasah head as a leader who is able to motivate and empower teachers to create superior quality education. However, various challenges such as budget constraints, lack of motivation and differences in teacher commitment are obstacles that must be overcome. The approach used was descriptive qualitative research with data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation, and data analysis through reduction, presentation and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the madrasah head applies a combination of democratic, transformational, situational, and visionary leadership styles. The strategies include internal training such as In-House Training (IHT) and capacity building, clinical supervision, and socialization of madrasah digitalization programs. External support from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and collaboration with other parties are supporting factors, while obstacles include budget limitations, resistance to change, and differences in teacher commitment. However, effective communication and high teacher loyalty can help overcome the challenges. Keywords: leadership style, madrasah principals, teacher professionalism Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan gaya kepemimpinan kepala madrasah dalam meningkatkan profesionalisme guru di MTs Ma’arif NU  Kedungbanteng serta mengidentifikasi faktor pendukung dan penghambatnya. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada pentingnya peran kepala madrasah sebagai pemimpin yang mampu memotivasi dan memberdayakan guru untuk menciptakan kualitas pendidikan yang unggul. Namun, berbagai tantangan seperti keterbatasan anggaran, kurangnya motivasi, dan perbedaan komitmen guru menjadi kendala yang harus diatasi. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi, serta analisis data melalui reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kepala madrasah menerapkan kombinasi gaya kepemimpinan demokratis, transformasional, situasional, dan visioner. Strategi yang dilakukan mencakup pelatihan internal seperti In-House Training (IHT) dan capacity building, supervisi klinis, serta sosialisasi program digitalisasi madrasah. Dukungan eksternal dari Kementerian Agama dan kolaborasi dengan pihak lain menjadi faktor pendukung, sementara hambatan meliputi keterbatasan anggaran, resistensi terhadap perubahan, dan perbedaan komitmen guru.     Abstract: Student skills have become a crucial aspect in facing the demands of the 21st century, which emphasize adaptability, productivity, and competitiveness. However, the reality on the ground indicates that many educational institutions, including madrasahs, have not yet optimally designed skill programs in a planned and sustainable manner. MAN 2 Banyumas, as a Madrasah Aliyah Plus Skills, faces similar challenges, particularly in integrating skill programs that effectively enhance students’ practical abilities in accordance with the needs of the workforce and industry. This situation requires a well-structured, participatory planning process based on the analysis of student needs. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews, non-participatory observation, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of reduction, presentation, and verification. The results indicate that the planning of skill programs at MAN 2 Banyumas has been systematically implemented through goal setting, competency-based curriculum development, management of teaching staff, and provision of practical facilities. The implementation of activities such as internships and industrial visits has proven effective in improving students’ technical skills, creativity, and independence. Therefore, the planning of skill programs at MAN 2 Banyumas plays a strategic role in producing graduates who are ready to compete in the workforce and society, and can serve as a model for skill-based educational development for other madrasah. Keywords: skill program, planning, student skill development Abstrak: Keterampilan peserta didik menjadi salah satu aspek penting dalam menghadapi tuntutan abad ke-21 yang menekankan kemampuan adaptif, produktif, dan kompetitif. Namun, realitas di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa masih banyak lembaga pendidikan, termasuk madrasah, yang belum optimal dalam merancang program keterampilan secara terencana dan berkesinambungan. MAN 2 Banyumas sebagai Madrasah Aliyah Plus Keterampilan menghadapi tantangan serupa, terutama dalam mengintegrasikan program keterampilan agar mampu meningkatkan kemampuan praktis peserta didik sesuai kebutuhan dunia kerja dan industri. Kondisi tersebut menuntut adanya perencanaan program yang matang, partisipatif, serta berbasis pada analisis kebutuhan peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi non-partisipatif, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan reduksi, penyajian, dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perencanaan program keterampilan di MAN 2 Banyumas telah dilaksanakan secara sistematis melalui penetapan tujuan, penyusunan kurikulum berbasis kompetensi, pengelolaan sumber daya pendidik, serta penyediaan sarana praktik. Implementasi kegiatan seperti praktik kerja lapangan dan kunjungan industri terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan teknis, kreativitas, dan kemandirian peserta didik. Dengan demikian, perencanaan program keterampilan di MAN 2 Banyumas berperan strategis dalam menciptakan lulusan yang siap bersaing di dunia kerja dan masyarakat.     Abstract: Human resource management (HRM) plays a crucial role in ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of an organization. Ineffective HRM can hinder the achievement of organizational goals. This study aims to describe the HRM practices of the Threelens organization in supporting the Independent Learning Curriculum at SMA Negeri 3 Purwokerto and to examine how these practices contribute to improving student competence. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach, utilizing field research methods. Data were collected through observations, interviews, documentation, and triangulation, and analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings reveal that the HRM processes including planning, recruitment, selection, orientation and placement, training and development, as well as performance assessment and appreciation are generally well implemented. However, areas such as the employee selection process, training programs, and performance assessment still require improvement, as certain challenges in these processes create obstacles for organizational effectiveness. The study highlights that refining these HRM practices is essential for optimizing organizational support for the Independent Learning Curriculum and enhancing student outcomes. These results provide practical insights for educational organizations aiming to leverage HRM as a strategic tool for curriculum implementation and competency development. Ketidakefektifan manajemen SDM dapat menghambat pencapaian tujuan organisasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan praktik manajemen SDM pada organisasi Threelens dalam mendukung Kurikulum Merdeka di SMA Negeri 3 Purwokerto serta menganalisis bagaimana praktik tersebut berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan kompetensi siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode penelitian lapangan. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan triangulasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses manajemen SDM meliputi perencanaan, rekrutmen, seleksi, orientasi dan penempatan, pelatihan dan pengembangan, serta penilaian dan penghargaan kinerja secara umum telah diterapkan dengan baik. Namun, beberapa aspek seperti proses seleksi, program pelatihan, dan penilaian kinerja masih perlu ditingkatkan, karena beberapa kendala dalam proses tersebut dapat menghambat efektivitas organisasi. Penelitian ini menekankan bahwa penyempurnaan praktik manajemen SDM sangat penting untuk mengoptimalkan dukungan organisasi terhadap Kurikulum Merdeka serta meningkatkan hasil belajar dan kompetensi siswa. Temuan ini memberikan wawasan praktis bagi lembaga pendidikan yang ingin memanfaatkan manajemen SDM sebagai alat strategis dalam implementasi kurikulum dan pengembangan kompetensi siswa.
