Antara Validitas Keagamaan dan Pengakuan Administratif: Penetapan Nasab Anak dalam Hukum Keluarga Islam di Indonesia
The determination of child lineage in Indonesia reflects the interaction between Islamic law and state law within a plural legal system. Legal uncertainty often arises when marriages are religiously valid but administratively unregistered, affecting the civil status and rights of children. This article examines judicial reasoning in Decision No. 229/Pdt.P/2025/PA.Spn of the Sungai Penuh Religious Court concerning the determination of a child’s lineage. Using normative legal research with a doctrinal case-study approach, the study analyzes statutory regulations, Islamic legal principles, and the court’s ratio decidendi. The findings show that the court integrates the substantive validity of marriage under Islamic law with national legal principles on child protection and civil status. The article proposes a reconstructive framework for determining child lineage based on three elements: substantive marital validity, layered evidentiary standards, and institutional coordination between religious courts and civil registration authoritiesPenentuan asal-usul anak di Indonesia mencerminkan interaksi antara hukum Islam dan hukum negara dalam sistem hukum yang plural.
Dynastic Politics in the Context of Modern Indonesian Law: A Comparative Study of Classical Fiqh Siyasah and Contemporary Constitutionalism
This study explores the phenomenon of political dynasties in modern Indonesian constitutional law through a comparative analysis with classical Islamic political thought (fiqh siyasah). In recent years, Indonesia has witnessed the rise of political dynasties, notably exemplified by President Joko Widodo’s familial political trajectory. Such developments have prompted critical debates regarding democratic integrity and the rule of law. This study analyzes the legal and normative frameworks that govern political dynasties in Indonesia, highlighting the tension between democratic ideals and practices that may undermine meritocracy and institutional accountability. Drawing from classical Islamic political jurisprudence, the paper examines the shift from consultative leadership (shura) to dynastic rule during the Umayyad period under Muawiyah ibn Abi Sufyan. It then compares this historical transformation with contemporary Indonesian political dynamics, where constitutional mechanisms are sometimes interpreted to accommodate dynastic interests. The study argues that while classical Islamic governance recognized the practical necessity of hereditary rule in certain contexts, contemporary constitutionalism demands adherence to democratic principles and legal equity. Through this comparative lens, the paper offers a nuanced critique of dynastic politics and proposes reforms to strengthen Indonesia’s democratic resilience and legal order. The findings contribute to broader discourses on political ethics, legal reform, and Islamic constitutional thought in democratic societies
Islamic Microfinance as a Food Security Solution to Realize the Goal of Zero Hunger in Indonesia
The problem of hunger remains a challenge in Indonesia, influenced by rising prices of necessities, dependence on food imports, and poor access to quality food for people experiencing poverty. In this context, Islamic Microfinance offers a relevant approach to support food security in line with the Zero Hunger goal of the SDGs. As the country with the largest Muslim population, Indonesia has an excellent opportunity to optimize sharia principles in microfinance services. Islamic Microfinance provides fair, transparent, riba-free, and inclusive financing for small farmers and micro-entrepreneurs in the food sector. This study aims to analyze the contribution of Islamic Microfinance to food security through a literature review using secondary data from relevant journals, books, and documents. The method used is a descriptive, qualitative approach with content analysis techniques. The results of the study show that institutions such as BMT play an essential role in providing sharia financing through Murabahah, Qard al-Hasan, and Mudharabah contracts, which effectively increase access to capital and enhance business sustainability. These findings confirm that Islamic Microfinance is an instrument of empowerment and a strategy to strengthen food security, thereby requiring synergy among the government, sharia financial institutions, and the community
bahasa inggris: bahasa inggris
Recent research confirmed that idioms were one of the most complex aspects of learning English because their meanings were influenced by cultural differences, context, and limitations in the target language. Considering this fact, this study explored idiomatic expressions in the film Bilal: A New Breed of Hero to identify their types and meanings, while emphasizing the urgency of learning idioms in the context of English as a foreign language. This study employed a qualitative descriptive method with a discourse analysis approach, referencing Fernando\u27s classification of idioms into three categories: pure, semi-literal, and literal. Data in the form of dialogues in the film containing idioms were analyzed through semantic and narrative context studies. The results of the study showed that the majority of idioms fell into the semi-literal categorization, combining literal and figurative meanings. In addition to functioning as stylistic elements, idioms also strengthened characterization, depicted conflicts, and represented Arab-Islamic cultural values. The film Bilal: A New Breed of Hero was considered a suitable subject for study because it presented the use of idioms in an authentic context while reflecting cultural values. Thus, this research was expected to contribute to the development of semantic studies, enrich language learning strategies, and enhance cross-cultural understanding.
Emotional Intelligence, Work Fatigue, and Work Life Balance as Drivers of Employee Performance: An Islamic Human Resource Management Perspective : (Evidence from the Community Empowerment Agency of Bandar Lampung City)
This study examines the influence of emotional intelligence, job fatigue, and work-life balance on employee performance from the perspective of Human Resource Management (MSDI). The research was conducted on employees of the Community Empowerment Office in Bandar Lampung using a quantitative approach with questionnaires as the primary data collection tool. Data were analyzed using multiple regression to determine the partial and simultaneous effects of the independent variables. The results show that emotional intelligence has a positive and significant effect on performance, as employees with strong emotional regulation and interpersonal skills tend to be more effective in their tasks. Job fatigue negatively affects performance by reducing motivation and work quality, while work-life balance has a positive contribution by helping employees maintain harmony between professional and personal life. From the MSDI perspective, these findings emphasize that employee performance improvement requires not only technical competence but also emotional stability, workload management, and balance in life aspects. Organizations need to pay attention to these factors to enhance effectiveness and the quality of public services
Legal Diversity in the Concept of ‘Iddah: Comparative Analysis among Shafi’i, Maliki, Hanafi, and Hanbali Schools
This study examines the concept of ‘iddah (waiting period) within Islamic family law through a comparative analysis of the four Sunni schools—Shafi’i, Maliki, Hanafi, and Hanbali. Rooted in the Qur’an and Sunnah, ‘iddah serves multiple juridical and ethical purposes, including the preservation of lineage (ḥifẓ al-nasab), clarification of paternity, and maintenance of moral and social order following marital dissolution. Despite unanimous recognition of its obligation, the four schools exhibit methodological diversity in interpreting its duration, commencement, and conditions. This research, employing a qualitative, doctrinal, and comparative approach (fiqh muqāran), reveals that juristic differences arise from linguistic ambiguities, contextual considerations, and distinctive uṣūl al-fiqh methodologies—textualism, rational analogy, or welfare-based reasoning. Rather than reflecting contradiction, such ikhtilāf (diversity) demonstrates the epistemic richness and adaptability of Islamic law. The findings underscore that all schools converge on shared maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah—justice, lineage protection, and compassion—while differing in procedural applications. The study concludes that recognizing classical pluralism can inform contemporary legal codifications and family law reforms in Muslim societies. It affirms that the vitality of Islamic jurisprudence lies in harmonizing unity of purpose with diversity of interpretation, ensuring Sharia’s continued relevance in evolving social contexts
Iqra\u27 as Knowledge Paradigm: Islamic Epistemology Reconstruction from QS Al-Alaq 1-5
This study reconstructs Islamic epistemology by positioning the Qur\u27anic command "Iqra\u27" (recite/read) in QS Al-Alaq 1-5 as a central paradigm of knowledge. Employing hermeneutic analysis integrated with philosophical inquiry, this research demonstrates that "Iqra\u27" extends beyond textual literacy to encompass recognition of divine signs through revelation, intellect, and empirical experience. Three dimensions emerge: (1) revelation (naql) as the primary epistemological source; (2) an integrative knowledge process synthesizing revelation, reason, and observation of natural phenomena (ayat kauniyyah); and (3) transcendental knowledge aims directed toward ma\u27rifah—intimate recognition of the Divine—and alignment with Islamic ethical values. This holistic epistemology offers a robust alternative to Western reductionist paradigms by integrating material, intellectual, and spiritual dimensions of knowledge production. The paradigm demonstrates particular relevance for contemporary Islamic education reform, ethical frameworks in science and technology, and substantive intercultural dialogue on epistemological foundations. The study contributes an original framework through systematic integration of classical tafsir scholarship with contemporary epistemological analysis, positioning "Iqra\u27" not merely as a historical narrative but as a foundational epistemic principle for twenty-first-century knowledge systems. The implications extend across educational policy, scientific ethics, and global intellectual exchange
Takaful in Pakistan and Somalia: A Comparative Study of Regulatory Evolution and Market Development
Islamic insurance (takaful) is practiced in both Somalia and Pakistan; however, the two countries differ markedly in their regulatory frameworks, operational models, and levels of market penetration, while also sharing certain structural similarities. This study undertakes a comparative legal and institutional analysis to examine these divergences and convergences and to identify opportunities for strengthening takaful development in both jurisdictions. As a Shariah-compliant alternative to conventional insurance, takaful is founded on principles of mutual risk sharing and collective responsibility. The analysis highlights distinct contextual challenges and prospects. In Somalia, the absence of conventional insurance creates both a necessity and an opportunity for takaful expansion, contingent upon improvements in political stability, economic conditions, and the gradual transition from traditional tribal risk-sharing mechanisms to formal insurance institutions. In contrast, Pakistan represents a more developed insurance environment, where takaful operates alongside conventional insurance under a relatively comprehensive regulatory framework. By comparing regulatory structures, market practices, and socio-economic conditions, this study demonstrates the potential economic and social contributions of takaful in both contexts. It concludes with policy-oriented recommendations aimed at enhancing regulatory effectiveness, market growth, and public awareness of takaful as a sustainable insurance alternative

The Influence of Government Expenditure on Education, Health and Poverty Sectors on Indonesia’s Human Development Index in 2019-2023 an Islamic Economics Perspective
This study aims to analyze the influence of government spending in the education, health, and poverty alleviation sectors on Indonesia\u27s Human Development Index (HDI) for the 2019–2023 period. This study integrates fiscal policy analysis with an Islamic economic perspective. Particularly through the maqashid al-shariah approach, providing a distinct normative framework for evaluating the effectiveness of government spending on human development. The method used is a quantitative approach with regression of panel data based on secondary data from BPS-Statistics Indonesia and the Ministry of Finance. The results showed that education expenditure had a negative and insignificant effect on Human Development Index (HDI), health expenditure had a positive but insignificant effect, and poverty alleviation expenditure was also insignificant. Simultaneously, all variables had no significant effect on Human Development Index (HDI). This study concludes that increasing government spending has not been effective in increasing Human Development Index (HDI), so more targeted and efficient policies are needed
