The Changing Role of University Faculty in the Era of Artificial Intelligence: A Systematic Literature Review
Full text linkThe integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in higher education has profoundly influenced teaching and learning processes. This study investigates the evolving roles of university faculty in the AI era by synthesizing findings from peer-reviewed literature, policy reports, and institutional research. A systematic literature review was conducted based on 32 key sources published between 2018 and 2024. The results reveal three significant transformations: (1) pedagogical innovations with AI-assisted tools, (2) the shift in administrative responsibilities and decision-making supported by AI analytics, and (3) emerging ethical roles and the need for AI literacy among faculty. The study concludes that AI enhances efficiency and demands a reconfiguration of professional identity, calling for continuous professional development, ethical frameworks, and institutional support
Parental Involvement and Socio-emotional Skills of the Kindergarten Pupils: A Correlational Study
Full text linkAcademic achievement does not guarantee success in school; one must also work on establishing the students' socio-emotional abilities to interact with teachers and peers. Socio-emotional development describes the ways in which children learn to communicate and express their emotions, form bonds with others, and engage in social abilities. Prioritizing socio-emotional development in preschool and kindergarten is essential. The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of parental involvement and socio-emotional skills of the kindergarten pupils of Pagasinan Elementary School. This study utilized quantitative descriptive research design to investigate the socio-emotional skills of kindergarten pupils in Sanga-Sanga, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi. The research specifically examined the influence of parental involvement on the socio-emotional skills of these young learners, utilizing quantitative research methods for data analysis and interpretation. Parents of Pagasinan Elementary School are highly involved in various aspects of their children’s education. This includes fulfilling basic obligations, maintaining school-to-home communication, participating in school activities, and engaging in home learning activities. The kindergarten pupils possess strong socio-emotional skills as perceived by their teachers. Specifically, pupils show a high level of self-awareness and advanced level of self-management. There is moderate positive and statistically significant correlation between parents’ involvement and the socio-emotional skills of kindergarten pupils. Understanding Followers Feedback in TikTok Videos: A Netnographic Analysis on English Learning Content
Full text linkThe growth of social media advances breaking the limited access of English learning experience. One of the massive users of social media currently is the TikTok application. This study examined followers’ feedback on the English learning content created by @kadang.sokinggris TikTok account. The English learning content presented by this account consists of vocabulary mastery, pronunciation, English version, and word differences. His teaching method is "scolding his followers.". This study utilized the Netnography approach to explore online behaviour and interaction in the comment box of 30 videos. The videos consist of 7 vocabulary mastery contents, 8 pronunciation contents, 7 English version contents, and 8 word differences contents. It was found that majority of the video comments were positive. The videos in vocabulary mastery content presented contextual examples to help the followers understand how to use vocabulary in a proper context. In addition, it was discovered that there are oral and written feedback and interaction between the content creator and the followers. As presented in pronunciation contents, the content creator challenged the followers to read the four words, and afterward, he corrected how to read by “scolding” his followers that what was said was wrong in pronunciation. In the comment section, many followers still get the mispronounced words. Key findings were that @kadang.sokinggris TikTok account provides English learning content with unique features, clarity of voice in delivering material, and techniques presented that are different from those of other content creators. So, it can be claimed that the Tiktok application becomes an online version of English learning media in today’s digital era
Unlocking the Path to Professional Teaching: Insights from Student Teachers and Mentor Teachers in an At-School Practicum Program
Full text linkThis research aims to observe the implementation process of the Teacher Professional Program, specifically during the Practicum Experience in Schools (Program Praktik Lapangan or PPL), from the perspectives of the Mentor Teachers and the Student Teachers. The focus is on examining both groups' experiences and perceptions regarding the program's effectiveness and impact on teacher preparation and professional development. A qualitative research approach was applied, involving in-depth interviews with Mentor Teachers and Student Teachers and direct observation of the PPL process. The findings show that student teachers have developed competency in using various learning strategies while considering the learners' conditions and the learning objectives. They conducted a diagnostic test to assess the learning characteristics of their students and focused on developing several learning objectives, including critical thinking, science literacy, and communication skills. The student participants utilized various relevant information technologies, such as Physicslab, PhET Simulation, Octave, Canva, and Google Docs. The supervising teacher supported student teachers in managing the classroom from planning to evaluation, which is essential in providing a positive learning experience for student teachers and promoting their professional development. The observations showed that the students were comfortable with the student teachers and performed satisfactorily, which made the student teachers feel comfortable during their teaching practice. The support system from the supervising teacher is crucial in ensuring the effectiveness and impact of the program on teacher preparation and professional development
Analisis Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis dalam Penyelesaian Masalah Matriks Berkonteks Perjalanan Wisata
Full text linkTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menerangkan hasil analisis keterampilan berpikir kritis murid dalam menyelesaikan masalah matriks berkonteks perjalanan wisata. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, dengan subjek berjumlah 30 murid kelas XI SMK Dirgantara Putra Bangsa. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan lembar tes kemampuan berpikir kritis dan panduan wawancara. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa persentase kemampuan berpikir pada indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis focus sebesar 43,33%, indikator reason sebesar 35,00%, dan indikator inference mencapai 46,66%. Sementara itu, indikator situation memiliki persentase sebesar 61,11%, indikator clarity sebesar 40,83%, dan indikator overview sebesar 31,66%. Hasil wawancara menunjukkan bahwa masalah ini muncul karena pemahaman konsep matriks yang belum optimal, murid cenderung terburu-buru menarik kesimpulan tanpa analisis mendalam, memiliki pengetahuan geometri yang terbatas, kesulitan dalam menerapkan konsep kesebangunan, dan kurang terbiasa menghadapi soal matematika yang memerlukan analisis serta evaluasi. Berdasar hal tersebut dapat dikatakan bahwa kemampuan berpikir murid dapat dikategorikan sebagai tingkat rendah

Full text linkSebagai sebuah negeri yang kaya akan perabadannya, Mesir memiliki sebuah Universitas yang telah divalidasi oleh kalangan umat Muslim di seluruh dunia karena mampu melahirkan dan mencetak ulama-ulama besar selama beberapa dekade terakhir. Penelitian Kualitatif berbasis library research dengan menggunakan metode analisis kritis ini diarahkan kepada upaya untuk menelaah secara komprehensif kebijakan pendidikan Islam di Al-Azhar pada masa kontemporer, mulai dari konsep dan tujuan pendidikan, sistem pendidikan, sumber daya, struktur kelembagaan Al-Azhar, pemilihan Grand Syekh Al-Azhar serta perbandingannya dengan sistem pendidikan yang ada di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menemukan beberapa arah kebijakan pendidikan yang cukup berbeda dengan kebijakan pendidikan yang ada di Indonesia. Beberapa diantaranya adalah tujuan pendidikan yang diarahkan agar pesera didik mencapai kebahagian di dunia dan diakhirat melalui penguasaan terkait pemahaan agama, bahasa serta budaya; tidak adanya skripsi maupun tugas harian dan mingguan, dan diktat yang ditulis oleh para dosen pengampu merupakan bahan utama ujian akhir
Teknologi Kecerdasan Buatan dan Pentingnya Beradaptasi dalam Cara Belajar
Full text linkTeknologi kecerdasan buatan (artificial intelligence/ AI) berpotensi memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan dalam dunia pendidikan di Indonesia. Seperti pembelajaran adaptif yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan individual siswa, meningkatkan pemahaman dan motivasi belajar. Namun, penerapan AI dalam pendidikan di Indonesia juga menghadapi tantangan seperti infrastruktur teknologi yang kurang memadai, kekurangan sumber daya manusia terampil, kesenjangan akses teknologi antara daerah perkotaan dan pedesaan, serta kekhawatiran tentang privasi data dan etika. Untuk dapat memanfaatkan potensi AI dalam pendidikan di Indonesia secara optimal, diperlukan adaptasi dan kolaborasi yang erat antara berbagai pemangku kepentingan. Pemerintah, institusi pendidikan, industri teknologi, dan masyarakat harus bekerja sama dalam mengembangkan kebijakan, infrastruktur, sumber daya manusia, dan solusi AI yang tepat untuk kebutuhan pendidikan di Indonesia. Adaptasi dalam metode pembelajaran, kurikulum, dan budaya belajar juga sangat penting untuk mengintegrasikan AI secara efektif. Guru, siswa, dan orang tua harus terbuka terhadap perubahan dan bersedia mengembangkan keterampilan baru yang dibutuhkan untuk berinteraksi dengan teknologi AI. Meskipun masih terdapat tantangan, prospek penggunaan AI dalam pendidikan di Indonesia sangat menjanjikan. AI memiliki potensi untuk mentransformasi sistem pendidikan, meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran, dan mempersiapkan generasi mendatang untuk menghadapi tantangan di era digital. Dengan investasi yang tepat, kolaborasi yang kuat, dan adaptasi yang berkelanjutan, AI dapat membantu menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang lebih personal, interaktif, dan efisien. Hal ini akan memungkinkan setiap siswa untuk mengembangkan potensi mereka secara maksimal dan memperoleh keterampilan yang dibutuhkan untuk sukses di masa depan. Selain itu, AI juga dapat membantu mengatasi kesenjangan pendidikan di Indonesia, dengan menyediakan akses yang lebih luas terhadap sumber daya belajar dan memungkinkan pembelajaran jarak jauh yang lebih efektif. Tentunya, adopsi AI dalam pendidikan harus dilakukan dengan bijak dan bertanggung jawab, dengan memperhatikan aspek privasi data, etika, dan dampak sosial yang lebih luas. Namun, dengan pendekatan yang tepat, AI dapat menjadi katalis bagi transformasi pendidikan di Indonesia, membuka pintu bagi generasi yang lebih cerdas, kreatif, dan siap menghadapi tantangan global
Internalization of Environmental Values, Local Wisdom, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Issues
Full text linkThis study aims to explain the importance of internalizing environmental values based on local wisdom in supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These values not only encourage environmental awareness, but also play a role in creating a balance between economic, social, and environmental aspects of sustainable development. The approach used in this study is descriptive qualitative, combining the author's opinions and experiences and supported by relevant secondary sources, such as literature and previous research. The results of the study indicate that local wisdom, through traditional practices such as community-based forest management and organic farming, supports ecosystem preservation and community empowerment in sustainable decision-making. Internalizing environmental values helps communities become more aware of the impact of human activities on the environment and more active in mitigating climate change and conserving natural resources. Based on these findings, it is recommended that environmental education and development policies better integrate local wisdom, to create more inclusive and sustainable development. This is important to ensure that the achievement of the SDGs does not only focus on economic growth but also ecosystem sustainability and social welfare
Penggunaan Media Pembelajaran dan Hasil Belajar Sains: Kajian Bibliometrik
Full text linkPenelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan meta-analisis untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh penggunaan media pembelajaran terhadap hasil belajar sains secara keseluruhan dan berdasarkan tingkat pendidikan. Sampel penelitian mencakup berbagai studi yang mengeksplorasi topik ini. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media pembelajaran secara umum memiliki effect size sebesar 0,87, menunjukkan efek tinggi terhadap hasil belajar sains. Lebih lanjut, analisis berdasarkan tingkat pendidikan menghasilkan nilai effect size pada tingkat SMA sebesar 0,74 (efek sedang), tingkat SMP 0,72 (efek sedang), dan tingkat SD 1,96 (efek tinggi). Implikasi dari temuan ini dapat menjadi landasan untuk pengembangan strategi pembelajaran sains yang lebih efektif, dengan mempertimbangkan perbedaan efektivitas media pembelajaran pada tingkat pendidikan yang berbeda
Peningkatkan Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Siswa pada Materi Aritmatika Sosial dengan Pembelajaran Berbasis Video
Full text linkBerdasarkan hasil survei PISA dan TIMSS yang menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa di Indonesia masih kurang, maka perlu digunakan suatu media yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan tersebut. Salah satu media yang diyakini dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa adalah penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis video. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis video melalui model pembelajaran problem based learning (PBL) untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa pada materi aritmetika sosial. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan atau Research and Development (R&D). Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, penyebaran angket, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data berupa uji validitas produk, uji respon siswa, dan pengitungan nilai pretest dan postest. Video interaktif yang dikembangkan dibuat dengan menggunakan aplikasi Renderforest.
