    ASSESSMENT THE LIPID PROFILES AND CERTAIN ELECTROLYTE SERUM LEVELS IN PEOPLE WITH TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS

    The current study aimed to estimate the levels of lipid profile and some electrolytes in the blood serum of a group of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). In this study, 100 blood samples were collected and divided into two groups, one consisting of 70 samples from people with type 2 diabetes and the other consisting of 30 samples from healthy people considered a control group. The ages of the people ranged from 25 to 70 years . An estimate of glucose levels and lipid profile concentrations (total cholesterol, triglycerides, high-density lipoproteins for cholesterol, low-density lipoproteins for cholesterol, and very low intensity lipoproteins), and estimating the levels of some electrolytes (magnesium, potassium, and calcium). The results showed a very significant increase (P value < 0.0001) in the levels of glucose, total cholesterol, triglycerides, low-density lipoproteins (LDL), and very low-density lipoproteins (VLDL) in people with type 2 diabetes mellitus when compared with the control group. The results also showed a significant decrease (P value < 0.0001) in the average concentration of high-density lipoproteins (HDL) in people with type 2 diabetes mellitus when compared with the control group.     This study aims to explore the effectiveness of using scramble games as a teaching method to improve students’ writing skills. The research is based on the low English language proficiency, particularly in writing, among Indonesian students. Scramble games, which involve arranging wors or sentences randomly, were chosen as a teaching mehod to make the writing learning spocess more engaging and interactive. The results of the study indicate that this method can help students better understand vocabulary and sentence structure as wellas enhance critical and collaborative thinking skills

    THE EFFECT OF OUTDOOR LEARNING-BASED PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING MODEL ON LEARNING OUTCOMES IN TERMS OF STUDENT ACTIVITY IN ECOSYSTEM MATERIAL CLASS VII MTS NEGERI 4 BOJONEGORO

    This study aims to determine the effect of outdoor learning-based problem-based learning model on student learning outcomes in terms of student activity in class VII ecosystem material at MTs Negeri 4 Bojonegoro. The research design in this study used Pre-test Post-test Control Groub Design using two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The sampling technique used Simple Random Sampling.  The samples used were class VII E as the experimental class and class VII F as the control class. The data collection technique used test questions consisting of 10 items in the form of descriptions to measure student learning outcomes and student activity observations consisting of 15 statements with yes and no answers. Data analysis techniques use pre-requisite tests in the form of validity, reliability, normality and homogeneity tests while hypothesis testing uses one way anava test. The results obtained from this study are the average post-test results of the experimental class of 80.29 and the control class of 77.10 which can be concluded that the increase in student learning outcomes using the Outdoor Learning-based Problem Based Learning model is better than the indoor Problem Based Learning mode

    REPUTATION'S IMPACT ON AUDITOR SWITCHING THROUGH AUDIT DELAYS AND FINANCIAL DISTRESS IN THE ENERGY SECTOR

    General Background: Auditor switching, particularly in energy companies, can be influenced by various factors including audit opinions, audit delays, and financial distress, all of which are critical in ensuring the credibility of financial reporting. Specific Background: In Indonesia, the energy sector is vital for economic stability, yet few studies have explored how these factors influence auditor switching, particularly the moderating role of KAP (Kantor Akuntan Publik) reputation. Knowledge Gap: While previous research has identified some determinants of auditor switching, the moderating effect of KAP reputation on these relationships remains underexplored, especially in the context of energy companies in emerging markets. Aims: This study aims to determine the impact of company characteristics and audit characteristics on auditor switching, with KAP reputation as a moderator, within energy companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2018 to 2021. Results: The study found that audit opinions, audit delays, and financial distress significantly influence auditor switching. Moreover, the reputation of KAP moderates the effect of financial distress on auditor switching. Novelty: This research uniquely highlights the moderating role of KAP reputation, specifically within the energy sector, providing new insights into how external audit firm reputation interacts with company-specific risks to influence auditor-switching behavior. Implications: The findings contribute to a better understanding of the audit selection process in the energy sector and provide guidance for regulators and practitioners in improving audit quality and decision-making processes, emphasizing the importance of auditor reputation in mitigating the risks associated with financial distress

    Objective: This study aims to develop an effective city branding strategy for Bukittinggi City, focusing on the creation of a visual identity that encapsulates the city’s historical significance and attractions. Method: The research employs the Glas Box method, as developed by Sarwono and Lubis, involving stages of observation, field interviews, literature review, concept design, and iterative evaluation to refine the branding output. The primary focus is on designing a tourism logo and a web design that visually represent Bukittinggi’s unique cultural and historical landmarks. Results: The study produces a comprehensive city branding identity, with a tourism logo and web design that effectively communicate Bukittinggi's appeal to domestic tourists, particularly those from outside the city. Novelty: This research offers a novel approach to city branding by integrating local history into a visually compelling and functional identity, tailored for the tourism sector. The outcome is presented through a work exhibition titled "City Branding Design of Bukittinggi City as the Identity of the 'City of Historical'," highlighting its relevance and potential impact on tourism promotion

    DYNAMICS OF CONFLICT AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT IN ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIPS: IMPLICATIONS FOR DEPRESSION

    Objective: This study investigates the impact of conflict dynamics and emotional support in dating relationships on depression levels, emphasizing their significance for mental health. Method: A cross-sectional survey was conducted involving individuals aged 18 to 35 years. Data collection focused on measuring conflict frequency, emotional support, and their correlation with depression levels.  Results:  The analysis revealed that conflict frequency in dating relationships has a positive correlation with depression levels, while emotional support shows a negative correlation. These findings align with the Social Stress and Attachment Theory, which suggests that insecure attachment patterns and poor emotion regulation contribute to increased depression vulnerability. Novelty: This study underscores the importance of targeting communication skills and enhancing emotional support in romantic relationships as potential intervention strategies to reduce depression risk among couples

    General Background: CV. Sumber Rezeki, a printing company, currently processes customer orders manually, requiring customers to visit the shop and place orders face-to-face. This method is inefficient and inconvenient for both customers and administrators. Specific Background: There is a growing need for businesses to adopt digital systems to enhance customer service and streamline order processing. CV. Sumber Rezeki’s current system lacks the ability to handle customer data, item lists, and order reports efficiently, resulting in delays and miscommunication. Knowledge Gap: Despite the clear benefits of digital transformation in retail and service sectors, the implementation of such systems in small-to-medium-sized enterprises like CV. Sumber Rezeki has been limited. Aims: The aim of this research is to develop a system that improves customer service by simplifying and digitizing the ordering process, thereby making it faster and more efficient for both customers and the company’s administration. Results: The system design includes features for customer data management, item cataloging, and order tracking through a user-friendly interface. The software development employed a structured approach including system analysis, design, coding, testing (via black-box testing), and ongoing support. Novelty: This study introduces an order management system tailored for a small printing business, enabling customers to place orders remotely and allowing the business to manage these orders in real time. Implications: The implementation of this system increases operational efficiency, reduces face-to-face interaction requirements, and saves time for both customers and staff. Further research is needed to explore scalability and integration with other business processes, such as inventory management and customer feedback mechanisms

    ANALYSIS OF THE EFFECT OF BX 92, BX ULTIMAXX FUEL AND THEIR MIXTURES ON THE PERFORMANCE OF THE R15 MOTORCYCLE

    General Background: With the rapid advancement of automotive technology, especially motorbikes, fuel performance has become increasingly crucial in optimizing vehicle efficiency and meeting the demands of rising motorbike usage. Specific Background: Among commonly used fuels like BX 92 and BX Ultimaxx, the performance of different fuel types and combinations on power, torque, and specific fuel consumption (SFC) remains underexplored. Knowledge Gap: While various fuels are utilized, a detailed comparative analysis of motorbike performance using different fuels and blends, including ethanol mixes, is limited, particularly in the context of octane levels and engine power. Aims: This study aims to analyze motorbike performance differences when using BX 92, BX Ultimaxx, a 50:50 blend of BX 92 and BX Ultimaxx, and an 85:15 blend of BX 92 and ethanol, assessing power, torque, and SFC on an R15 motorbike using dynotest equipment. Results: The study found that higher octane levels yield improved power and torque, with BX Ultimaxx performing best in terms of power but consuming more fuel. BX 92 proved most efficient in fuel consumption but ranked lower in performance compared to BX Ultimaxx. The BX 92-BX Ultimaxx blend showed moderate improvements in power over BX 92 alone, while the BX 92-ethanol blend exhibited the lowest performance of all fuels tested. Novelty: This study provides a novel comparative framework for evaluating mixed fuel impacts on motorbike performance, particularly in utilizing ethanol as an alternative fuel component. Implications: These findings suggest that while higher-octane fuels enhance performance, fuel blending strategies could be optimized for specific outcomes, balancing efficiency with performance, thereby contributing to more sustainable fuel use in the automotive industry

    COMPARING OF ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORK AND MULTIPLICATIVE HOLT WINTERS EXPONENTIAL SMOOTHING METHODS IN FORECASTING DEMAND

    General Background: Fluctuations in raw material orders pose significant challenges for business operators, especially during peak seasons like holidays and the new year, often resulting in shortages or excess inventory. Specific Background: This study focuses on forecasting demand for wallet products from UMKM Pengerajin Dompet Khas Tanggulangin (PDKT) by comparing two forecasting methods: Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) and the Multiplicative Holt-Winters method, which is tailored for seasonal data. Knowledge Gap: While existing literature recognizes the effectiveness of various forecasting techniques, there is limited comparative analysis of ANN and Holt-Winters specifically in the context of UMKM wallet production, highlighting the need for empirical validation. Aims: This research aims to identify the most accurate forecasting method to optimize raw material usage and production planning. Results: The findings indicate that the ANN method yields a superior Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) of 14.249, compared to 93.436 for the Holt-Winters method, establishing its higher predictive accuracy. Novelty: The study contributes to the field by providing a comparative analysis of forecasting methods tailored to the specific context of UMKM, demonstrating the efficacy of ANN over traditional methods. Implications: These results suggest that adopting ANN for demand forecasting can significantly enhance inventory management and production efficiency for PDKT MSMEs, ultimately leading to better resource allocation and reduced operational costs
