The Commercial Impact of Sustainable Aviation Fuel Adoption in Commercial Airlines in the United Arab Emirates: An Economic and Industry Analysis
This study examines the commercial impact of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) adoption by commercial airlines in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Using a mixed-methods approach combining quantitative economic analysis and qualitative insights from industry reports, the research investigates the economic implications, challenges, and opportunities associated with SAF implementation in the UAE\u27s aviation sector. Findings indicate that while SAF adoption aligns with the UAE\u27s economic diversification and sustainability goals, significant hurdles remain, including high production costs and feedstock availability. The study provides recommendations for policymakers and industry leaders to facilitate successful SAF adoption, contributing to the UAE\u27s position as a global aviation hub while addressing environmental sustainability concerns
Key Drivers for the Light Duty Truck Owners in Purchase of Electric Vehicles
This study investigates the key drivers influencing the purchase decisions of electric vehicles (EVs) among light-duty truck owners in the National Capital Region (NCR), Philippines, in support of sustainable transportation and business practices. With the increasing urgency for eco-friendly logistics and the enforcement of the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (EVIDA), this research aims to identify the primary considerations of truck-owning businesses transitioning to EVs. Specifically, it seeks to assess how sustainability, technology acceptance, government programs, and business needs and operations impact the purchasing behavior of fleet owners. Employing a descriptive quantitative research design, the study surveyed 151 business owners and fleet managers using stratified random sampling. Data was collected via online questionnaires and statistically analyzed using mean, standard deviation, percentage, ranking, and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). These tools were used to identify patterns and test the significance of differences in purchase considerations across demographic groups such as business revenue, size, and years in operation. Findings revealed that all four key drivers were rated with “Very High Influence,” with business needs and operations—particularly vehicle durability, lifespan, and operational efficiency—ranking as the most influential. ANOVA results showed significant relationships between business revenue and the major drivers, confirming that financial capability and company experience strongly shape EV purchasing decisions. The study concludes with actionable recommendations for policymakers, automotive manufacturers, and stakeholders to design marketing strategies and incentive programs that align with operational and sustainability needs in NCR’s commercial vehicle sector
Correlates of Numeracy Skills of Elementary Pupils in the Division of Northern Samar
This study examined multi-level factors influencing the numeracy skills of 936 Grade 5 pupils in Northern Samar, using a descriptive-correlational design with data from pupils and 10 math teachers across nine public schools. Findings revealed widespread gaps in foundational numeracy, with most pupils performing below proficiency. At the teacher level, there is a shortage of veteran educators, a disconnect between curriculum reforms and teacher training, and gaps in content knowledge due to a focus on general pedagogy over math-specific instruction. Although all teachers pursued graduate studies (30% with a Master’s degree, 70% enrolled), traditional materials remain favored, while tech tools and structured feedback are underused due to access and training limitations. Regression results showed no significant effect from teacher experience, degree title, materials, or feedback. Higher education had a negative impact (β = –.439), while training (β = .345) and learner-centered pedagogy (β = .313) were strong positive predictors of numeracy, stressing the value of relevant training and effective teaching strategies
The Saving and Investing Behaviors of Members of Large Credit Cooperatives in General Santos City: Their Risk Attitude, the Cooperative’s Investment Schemes, and Corporate Earnings
This study examined the saving and investing behaviors of members of large credit cooperatives in General Santos City, focusing on the influence of members’ risk attitudes, cooperative investment schemes, and expected corporate earnings. The findings revealed that the majority of members possessed high educational attainment, stable full-time employment, and fell within the middle-income bracket, factors that contributed to financially prudent and consistent saving and investing habits. Members displayed a generally conservative approach to risk, favored low- to moderate-risk financial products, and demonstrated increased financial activity when cooperative earnings were perceived to be strong. Trust in the cooperative, particularly in its investment schemes and financial stability, emerged as a critical factor influencing both saving and investing decisions. Automatic savings mechanisms, incentives, and transparent financial reporting further reinforced positive financial behavior. Statistically significant relationships were found between members\u27 financial behaviors and their risk attitudes, the cooperative\u27s investment offerings, and expectations of corporate earnings. Additionally, socioeconomic factors—especially education and employment, played a vital role in shaping financial decision-making. The findings underscored the importance of trust, financial literacy, and well-structured investment options in fostering proactive and sustained financial engagement among cooperative members
Mental Health and Academic Achievement in Core Subjects Among Junior and Senior High School Students in Northern Samar, Philippines
This study assessed the relationship between the mental health and academic performance among 6,479 junior and senior high school students in public secondary schools in Northern Samar during the school year 2024–2025. Employing a descriptive-correlational research design, data were gathered using validated survey questionnaire covering five mental health domains: stress, anxiety, depression, somatic symptoms, and social dysfunction. These were then correlated with students’ grades in English, Mathematics, and Science. Results indicated that while students generally reported low levels of psychological distress, significant negative correlations were found between anxiety and academic performance, with Mathematics being the most affected. Stress also showed a meaningful inverse relationship with performance in Mathematics and Science. These findings emphasize the importance of integrating school-based mental health programs to support students’ emotional well-being and reduce barriers to learning, especially in cognitively demanding subjects
Insider Threats in Cloud-Based Network Environments: A Preventive Framework
Insider threats represent one of the most critical challenges in securing cloud-based network environments. These threats stem from individuals with authorized access who may misuse their privileges either maliciously or unintentionally. The dynamic and distributed nature of cloud systems exacerbates the detection and mitigation of such threats. This research proposes a preventive framework that integrates behavioral authentication, anomaly detection, and fine-grained access control to mitigate insider threats effectively. The proposed model is designed to continuously monitor user behavior, identify deviations from normal usage patterns, and enforce adaptive access controls in real time. The framework aims to enhance the security posture of organizations leveraging cloud infrastructures without compromising performance or user experience. Results from simulated environments demonstrate the model’s potential in detecting unauthorized behavior with high accuracy and low latency
Utilization of Digital Tools in the Classroom Instruction: Student’s Engagement and Academic Performance
This study determines the extent of teachers’ digital-tool utilization and its relationship to student engagement and academic performance in Labuan Central School, Zamboanga City, during School Year 2025–2026. Specifically, it examined teachers’ use of digital tools in pedagogy and assessment, the level of student engagement when such tools are employed, and students’ overall academic performance. It also tested whether significant relationships exist between teachers’ digital utilization and (1) student engagement and (2) academic achievement. The research was conducted in a public elementary school serving a culturally diverse population, including Samal, Subanen, Tausug, and Kalibugan learners. Respondents consisted of thirty-three Grade 4 to Grade 6 public school teachers, chosen because upper-elementary pupils are more capable of responding to technology-based instruction and their teachers more likely to integrate digital tools. A descriptive–correlational design was used to provide a quantitative snapshot of classroom practices and to identify associations between variables without manipulating them. Data were gathered on teachers’ frequency and effectiveness in using digital tools for lesson preparation, online resource gathering, assessment design, and evaluation, as well as on levels of student engagement and academic performance. Findings reveal that teachers “often” employ digital tools in both pedagogy and assessment, while students are likewise “often” engaged when technology is integrated. Student academic performance was found to be satisfactory and consistent. Statistical analysis confirmed significant positive relationships between teachers’ digital-tool utilization and both student engagement and academic performance. These results underscore the value of integrating digital technologies in teaching and assessment to enhance learner participation and achievement
Teachers Assessment Practices and Their Influence on Pupils Learning Outcomes: Inputs for Designing Learning Exemplar
This study examined the teachers’ assessment practices and their influence on pupils’ learning competencies as basis for designing learning exemplar. A descriptive research design was employed, focusing on all seven teachers of Rombang Elementary School through total enumeration sampling. A researcher-made questionnaire was used to gather the needed data on teachers’ assessment practices and pupils’ competency levels using a 5-point Likert scale. Descriptive statistics, particularly percentages and weighted mean were utilized to determine the levels of assessment practices and learning competencies. Data gathered revealed that the respondents frequently implemented formative assessment practices and consistently applied summative assessment practices. Likewise, pupils’ learning competencies were rated high, particularly in literacy and numeracy skills, application of learned concepts, and attainment of the Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs). The results indicated a positive association between effective classroom-based assessment practices and enhanced pupils’ learning outcomes. The study concluded that teachers’ assessment practices play a significant role in improving the quality of instruction and the learning competencies of pupils. The result may serve as basis for the Department of Education in enhancing assessment-based policies, reinforcing teacher professional development, and improving assessment implementation in schools
Comparison of Embedding Techniques used in Prediction of Drug Target Binding Affinity
The process of identifying of drug-target (DT) interactions is an integral part of the drug discovery process. Drug discovery is a process which focuses on determining new compounds that can be used to cure and treat diseases. Embedding is the process of converting high-dimensional data to low-dimensional data by representing it in the form of a vector. Drug Target sequences need to be transformed into a matrix before they can be fed into a deep learning model. Since the performance of embedding techniques directly affects the quality of the deep learning models and thus the accuracy of the predicted values of drug target binding affinity, we compare the performance and effect of various embedding techniques used for target embedding on deep learning models. Here, the embedding techniques whose performance has been compared are PLUSRNN Embedder, ProtTransBertBFD Embedder, Beppler Embedder, CPCProt Embedder and SeqVec Embedder
Self-Efficacy of the School Heads and Instructional Competence of Teachers in Public Elementary Schools of Davao City Division
The study explored the relationship of self-efficacy of school heads and instructional competence of public elementary teachers in Davao City Division. It investigated the association of the involved variables and the domains of self-efficacy of school heads that significantly influenced instructional competence of teachers. Using the probability sampling, it catered the 150 elementary teachers in the public schools as the respondents. Utilizing the descriptive-correlational survey method, the data collated were analyzed through the use of Mean and Product-Moment correlation. It was revealed that there was an extensive self-efficacy of school heads and instructional competence of teachers. Furthermore, there was a significant relationship between the two variables. Moreover, all domains of self-efficacy of school heads were found to have significantly influence on instructional competence of teachers. Based on the findings, it was further suggested that higher officials in the Department of Education identify means on how to help school heads strengthen their self-efficacy in order to guide and empower teachers to be competent when it comes to giving instruction. More so, future researchers may further explore the involved variables considering other research methods
